The Broody Brit: For Christmas (Holiday Springs #1) by MJ Fields & Jessica Ruben is a wonderful and fun holiday romance read when looking for something to read during this upside down time in our lives. It's an insta-love/single parent /contemporary romance read that brings the laughter, fun, heat, feels and definitely the Romance. This is Nikki and British Raff's story. Raff is a single father to his son, Nate. Nikki is coming back home after yet another failed relationship and she's just about hit rock bottom. She is not looking for any type of relationship but she is trying to get her life together and start her life over. It's always when your least expecting it, love comes into her life.
This is a sizzling story of two people who have that connection, chemistry and add that beautiful little boy. Feels!! Amazing feels!

2.5 stars. I think.

I really wanted this to be a Christmas story. It wasn’t that at all. I probably wouldn’t have finished it but I’m not one who usually DNF’s a book. It’s hard for me to not finished one once I’ve started it. So I kept reading and hoping the Christmassy-ness would start.

It was eh,.... okay.

that's what it says in the blurb, about the heroine...what it doesn't say that she's a pushover, she wants to be independent but she's not, she's so insecure that her actions only stay on words...

so, in short, I didn't like her. Period.

Secondly, the H, this broody Brit/single father...the thing is, it all worked fine until he spoke the words of "wisdom" - he's very aware of his handsomeness and every woman in this little town wants him BUT he doesn't get involved with the women in town (he has a few fuck buddies outside of it, so yeah) but he sure likes hearing about "how sexy he is and how much they are all attracted to him"....dear God... *roll eyes*

BUT here comes the heroine, who was burned by the rich prick of her, now, ex-fiance and is NOT interested in another man's money, so of course she's a true refreshment to our H, and thirdly, she's a spit image of his late wife (who died in an accident six years ago BUT has a major role in his life)

Fine, I'm actually fine with that part, sure, I get it, his late wife was the mother of his child, he loved her immensely, BUT then you don't go out with the statement that the next woman you are attracted to so much, is a reminder of your late wife, from looks to thoughts to everything...I mean, do you really love this new woman cause of her own-damn-self?!

so, yeah I really had several big issues with these characters and I really didn't connect with them, at all!

Start celebrating the Christmas season by jumping into this wonderful and seriously hot read by two hugely talented authors.

I am a huge fan of Jessica Ruben, I love all of her work, but this is a first time read of a MJ Fields novel, and if The Broody Brit is anything to go by, it most definitely won't be my last.

It is clear the two authors work well together because this book is fantastic, and crazy addictive, I could not put it down.

I have never read a holiday romance before but after reading The Broody Brit, I feel as if I've been missing out.

The story was captivating, and hugely enjoyable. This was a book I didn’t realise I needed, and now I am desperate for more.

I loved Nikki and Raff, the chemistry between these characters leapt off the pages. I loved how Raff knew exactly what he wanted and went for it. Even though Nikki was hesitant about getting involved with him, he was patient and ready to give her exactly what she needed. It was too easy to fall in love with Raff, we all need him in our lives.

I’m not always a big fan of insta-love in my books, in fact recently I’ve lent towards more of a slow-burn romance. But I can say without a shadow of a doubt, this book got me hook, line and sinker. I loved every single second of it.

Omg if you are looking for the perfect holiday read to help you forget this crazy year please one click The Broody Brit: For Christmas (Holiday Springs#1) by M.J Fields and Jessica Ruben. A sign of a good writing duo is when you have no idea who writes what and I have no idea because this story flowed so naturally and I loved everything about this entertaining, heartfelt, fun read.
The start of a new series in Holiday Springs and Nikki Winterfield and Raff Graham’s story is the perfect start because what’s not to love about a single dad romance in the magical holiday season.
Nikki and Raff have both been hurt in the past, Raff is a widowed and never expected to love again after all his son Nate is the most important person in his life and Nikki just got royalty dumped by her rich fiancé who also employed her so she is sworn of men especially rich men....
This entertaining read is about learning to trust your intuition and learning that sometimes we need to take a leap and hope we will be caught. The characters are adorable, the story is heartwarming, the chemistry is sizzling and the banter is witty so what more can you ask for well what about a hot Brit who’s a single dad living in a small town and let’s not forget the wonderful one liners only a child does well. I loved this book and I’m excited for book 2 from the residents of Holiday Springs.

What an Amazing Holiday Read by MJ Fields & Jessica Reuben. The Broody Brit For Christmas is definitely what everyone needs.
When we meet Nikki Winterfield she doesn’t ever expect her life to take the turn it does, so when coming home to Holiday Springs she is at a crossroads but when a adorable young man and his dad come barreling into her life she definitely sees her life might just be changing for the good.
Raff Graham is the man all of Holiday Springs
sees as the most wanted bachelor, but he sees himself as a successful businessman, a loving father to his son Nate but never did he think he would find someone to love again after losing his wife. Until Nikki comes into his life in the most unconventional way.
Nikki is wary of love again and Raff is open to the opportunity so when they come together as a couple it’s fantastic to see that they not only respect each other’s feelings but Nate’s is just as important to them. Watching the three of them come together as a unit is just so heartwarming to see and knowing that second chances can really make you see that HEA can happen even when you don’t expect it.

What a great collaboration by these two authors! The story is a perfect addition to any of your holiday reads. I would pull this one out and re-read each year.

The authors set up the wonderful smallish town of Holiday Springs, CO and I was ready to pack my bags and move there. Honestly, the secondary characters made me fall in love with the story. Lots of Easter eggs dropped and I hope we get to see future stories of some of my favorites.

This book gives us a broken hearted Nikki and a man who lost his first love unexpectedly. Throw in a wise beyond his years 11 year old and your heart will warm right up to this little family.

I loved the sass that Nikki throws. I loved the patience from Raff--ready for the long haul of wooing her. I loved their extended families. Mostly I loved the falling in love. Hearts can be mended and we end up with who we are meant to be with.

So happy to see this is a series. I can't wait to read more.

The title on this one, in my opinion, is a little misleading as the main character is not broody at all and the story spans from Halloween to Christmas. With that being said, I really enjoyed this one. Very little drama (refreshing to read a story where the characters actually communicate and not assume the worst). For being a co-written book, the story flowed smoothly and I couldn’t tell who wrote each chapter. I was happy to read that there will be another book by these two authors for Raffs friend.

CR. This had sparks of attraction & love, but the story
felt incomplete. Could the authors complete the circle?

Raff & his son Nate were the best aspect of the story.
Nikki came across as flaky & needed someone to look
out for & to provide for her.

The MCs were preoccupied w/ sex and the f-word.
I'm no prude but they (she 27 & he 10 yrs her sr. ?)
acted more like teens at times.

5 star review The Broody Brit: For Christmas (Holiday Springs #1) by MJ Fields & Jessica Ruben

I couldn't wait to dive into this book. I have read numerous books by M J Fields but Jessica Ruben is a new author to me. The authors did a good job with their writing, I have no idea who wrote what or where one finished and the other picked up, such was their seamless story telling.

The writing was strong as well as descriptive and I could easily see myself in Holiday Springs, Colorado, throw in the fact that the hero is a hot British single dad and that this is set in a small town and I was hooked from the first to the last chapter.

This book had me smiling throughout. I really liked Nikki Winterfield and Raff Graham. Both have been hurt in the past and after the death of his wife, Raff never expected find love again. Learning to trust and love again they embark on a journey that was beautiful to read. I loved the relationship that Nikki forges with Nate, it was heartwarming.

The secondary characters were entertaining and this book certainly put me in the mood for the holiday season.

I’ve been a fan of Jessica Ruben since her first book release. Where her other books tend to be dark and grittier this one captures a surprisingly sweet contemporary romance from her that I absolutely loved! I’m usually not one to like a insta-love romance I’m taken back that I enjoyed this one a lot especially when it’s also a single parent romance. Typically with insta-love novels it tends to feel unrealistic and cheesy however, the storyline and characters made it easy to want to see how things unfolded. I finished this book rather quickly because I found myself flying through these pages enjoying the story of Nikki and Raff. I think my favorite part of this story were the side characters. They kept the story alive and had me hoping they’d get their own stories as well! I haven’t read anything from MJ Fields but I’ll have to start soon! These two authors created something extremely special together and I hope it’s only the beginning.

OH My Goodness!! I Loved this story so much.
It made my heart happy and filled it with Christmas cheer.
Nikki returns to her hometown to get herself together after a failed relationship, not expecting to find an attraction to a single Father Raff....who by the way is a dream.
Their begining is not such a good one but their chemistry is sizzling hot and Nate , Raff's son has a way of bringing them together.
M.J.Fields and Jessica Ruben have created Romantic, festive Magic with this story it is sweet, funny and hot.
I fell in Love with these characters absolutely adored them and their journey to their emotional HEA.
I laughed and swooned and could not stop smiling it was a pure Joy to read,it took me away to another place and made me forget everything.
It felt like Christmas came early and I highly recommend it to get you into the festive spirit.

What a beautifully written Christmas time holiday contemporary romance. I loved everything about this, from the British hot daddy Rafe, to his eleven year old son Nate. What an amazing man that little guy is going to become! Nikki is down on her luck after returning home from a failed relationship, the last thing she needs is a new holiday romance. That all changes when she first meets Rafe, there is an immediate spark, even if she can't admit it to herself just yet. There was low angst and high romance, as well as some witty banter and steamy scenes between the sheets, I felt happy reading this and it put me in the holiday spirit! A wonderful story and great collaboration. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC and this is my honest review.

Can I be honest? I was  nervous about this co write. I've never read MJ Fields and I'm such a major hardcore Jessica Ruben fan that I was scared I wasn't going to like it but you you know whaaaaaat!? Gah.....I haven't had this feeling in a long time  ** twirls around in my Gilmore Girls pajamas while eating a honey bun****

This was EXACTLY what I needed right now!

✅ Hot British Single Dad
✅ Dirty Talk
✅ Small Town
✅Funny
✅ A relatable heroine who is strong and independent
✅ The sweetest, cutest, smartest little boy

The Broody Brit is the perfect sexy holiday read with just as much steam as there is swoon, I read in one go and am delighted that these authors found a perfect balance! Easily a 5 star!

Arc in exchange for honest review!!!

This really came unexpectedly as i knew nothing about this book except the author lol so was a pleasant surprise

I love both these authors so i didnt need to read the blurb to know i would love this book, and let me tell you i dont normally read christmas books but i really loved this one.

I loved Nikki from the get go and what can i say about Raff the single dad with a sexy british accent. This book really is such a feel good book, you cant help but smile throughout the whole read.

Nikki finds herself suddenly single after her fiance suddenly dumps her (let me tell you she dodged a bullet) Raff is a single dad after the loss of his wife raising his son Nate both don't expect their lives to change from one encounter, but from that first meeting sparks fly and no matter how much Nikki wants to deny it she feels it. If you want a feel good book well this is it i recommend this to anyone who is need of a smile on your face. Loved every second of it cant wait to see what the next Holiday Springs brings!!!

This is my first Christmas themed book of the year and I loved it! It’s perfect for this time leading up to the holidays as it mostly spans the time between Halloween and Christmas. Broody Brit is sexy, sweet, funny, and heartfelt. Throughout the book, I would catch myself just grinning from ear to ear!
If you’re looking for the perfect book to kick off your holiday season, look no further! Raff, Nikki, and Nate are going to warm your heart this Christmas. I definitely recommend giving this one a read!

The Quick and Dirty: A must-add to your holiday book list! A hot single-dad romance + small town + just the right about of 🔥 = The best kick-off to your holiday season!

This was the absolute best way to start my holiday season reads! MJ Fields and Jessica Ruben did an amazing job drawing the reader into the world of Holiday Springs. The writing is vivid enough that you can clearly imagine the world they built without being overly flowery or long-winded. The characters are compelling and well fleshed out (to the point where I’m hoping that we hear more about some of the ancillary characters in the next book), and the story was equal parts sweet and spice. A small town book with a big heart. Love, love, love! Curl yourself by the fire and one-click this baby!

Main Cast of Characters:
Nikki: Fresh from a break-up with a jerk fiancé in NYC, Nikki is back in her small Colorado hometown to lick her wounds and hopefully head back to the city. While she gets back on her feet, she works at her family’s candy shop.
Raff(erty): British, rich, single-dad that Nikki wants absolutely nothing to do with because he reminds her of her rich asshole fiancé. Widower.
Nathaniel: Raff’s adorable 11-year-old son.
Faith: Raff’s sister-in-law. Sister of Hope, Raff’s deceased wife.
Jenny: Nikki’s hilarious best friend, happily married with kids.
Nellie: Nikki’s cousin and one of the key antagonists of the story.
Beckett: Raff’s best friend and owner of Hawthorne Hotels and Resorts (also very likely the upcoming male lead in the Irresistible Irishman!)

What a fantastic story. Not what I was expecting but so much more. MJ Fields and Jessica Reuben are amazing authors and together they are explosive. The Broody Brit is such an awesome holiday read. For Nikki it is about finding herself and starting over. Coming back home doesn’t have to mean you failed but instead gives you another path in life. A path that you were destined to take. She came back wanting to get her life in order after her breakup and then eventually return to New York City. But instead what she found was not what she was looking for. Love and forever. She did find herself but, she also found Raff and Nate. Judging from their first meetings you wouldn’t think things would turn out like they did. Although from Raff’s point of view their first meeting he felt something for her that he had never felt before. Even though she resembled his deceased wife it was more than that. Once he got to know Nikki he saw how special she was and knew he had to make her his. She was the first woman he dated to meet Nate, his eleven year old son so you knew she was special. The bond that she developed with Nate was so special too. All in all a great holiday read and a true happily ever after.

This novel was amazing! I was absolutely blown away! I've come to expect this from Jessics Ruben, but am admittedly new to M.J. Fields. The Broody Brit for Christmas is everything you want in a romance book - fun, sexy, funny, and it built a wonderful fictional world that I'm glad to see is the beginning of a series as I didn't want it to end! The Broody Brit for Christmas is the first novel in the Holiday Springs series.

Nikki is back home with her Aunt, Uncle, and cousin after thinking she failed in the big city. Ivy league college degree and she couldn't even make it in New York, so what is she supposed to do in a small town in Colorado?

Raff is back in Holiday Springs for his son. The big city life is no where to raise a kid, so he owns some businesses in town and takes a completely active role in raising his son. When his son shares that he got in trouble after school one day, he goes to confront the person that yelled at him, not knowing how this would change his life forever.

Raff is sweet, thoughtful, caring, and honest. Nikki is a bit down on herself in the beginning, but through the town and renforcing relationships and building new ones, gains back her confidence. I truly cannot wait for more from these two authors and this series!

I have been a longtime fan and reader of MJ Fields but Jessica Rubin is new to me. This pair together created a great feel good holiday romance that had all the feels.

This book started out slow with Nikki having a lot issues with her feelings of failure and fitting in after having to return home to Holiday Springs when her long time relationship in NYC failed. After having a bad day, she over reacts and takes out her feelings on 11 year old Nathaniel. Next to enter the picture is Nate's single dad Raff when he goes to confront Nikki. Add some holiday spirit, some funny antics, some great supporting characters such as the sweet 11 year old and some realizations you get one great story. It also didn't hurt that Raff was one HOT alpha character that melted the pages.

This story, once it got started and the moving was a great story that moved along. The ending was great but I thought that the events leading up to the ending slowed the book down. I would, however, like to see some of the supporting characters get their own stories told.

Overall, this was a good holiday read that will put you in the spirit. I would recommend this book to others.

This was sensational.
I honestly kept reading and didn't want to miss a word.
MJ Fields writing with Jessica Ruben took my breath away.
They connect, this was so very well written that I couldn't fault anything , the story is still with me---  so much more than five stars …

Girl meets Guy with a son … ha-ha ,so much more than that!
Nikki Westerfield comes back home to sort her life then WHAM!

Nikki meets Raff then a life happens between them that nobody could predict .
An amazing story unfolds people from the past come into Nikki's life and make a complete difference..
Raff , has everything except the one thing he thought he would always be without .. Love .
He is rather edible and delicious and has a heart , a heart that is extremely large with a love that you watch from afar unfolding …
Nate is Raff's son …. a son with a heart as large as his Dad's ..
I could go on and on but I won't add a teaser as this book needs to be read fresh. All the secondary are marvelous with lines that make you laugh your head off.. A magnificent and humorous story with characters you connect with from the start..

This is a sexy, cute and sometimes sweet romance. I will say this, the title is somewhat misleading, as the Brit was not broody. lol The Heroine was more so than him. She is back in her small hometown after a bad breakup and is simply trying to get back on her feet before moving back to the big city. He had moved him and his son from the UK to the small US town, which was the hometown of his deceased wife, and where her family still lives. He has no problem making himself welcomed and loved by the townsfolk. While neither are looking to move on or become engaged in any type of serious relationship, you can't help what the heart desires. His fight to become more is equal to her fight to push him away. He doesn't give her much leeway. It's fun to watch her try though. Both characters are smart and good people. Both are kind and caring people. And did I mention he is a single dad? Just wait until you see him interacting with his son. ;) There is a little 'mean girl' involved. There is also some surprises. Plenty of humor, and of course plenty of sexiness. It alternates between POVs. It reads quickly and easily. Suitable for mature readers.
