Unexpected sparks fly when a shy, straight, nerdy sweetheart meets a flirtatious, sexy, older Frenchman. Is Zio brave enough to take a chance on Armand?

Fabrizio “Zio” Revello

I embrace the philosophy that nobody is perfect by studying the art of imperfection. But then I meet Armand, forcing me to completely reevaluate my world view. From his gorgeous face, teasing sense of humor, and a French accent to die for, everything about him makes me forget one very important detail: I’ve never been attracted to a man until him. I shouldn’t let him tempt me, but the glimpse of the real Armand behind his playful flirtations makes him impossible to resist.

I’ve never been the adventurous type, but Armand makes me want to be brave and daring. Isn’t a lifetime of happiness with a person who understands me worth the risk?

Armand Bellamy

I approach Zio in search of a no-strings-attached evening of fun to kick off my business trip to Hawaii. But I get way more than I bargained for when I discover a shy, nerdy sweetheart who finds beauty in my flaws. He even accepts the hidden parts of my heart that I hide from the world. It makes me want to make him mine—not just for one night but for every night of the rest of our lives.

He says he’s straight, but when have I ever let that stop me from getting what I want?

Flawsome Explorations is the second book in the Suite Dreams series and part of the Sunnyside universe. This novel features a bisexual awakening, shy/flirt, age gap, instalove, opposites attract romance. Full of cute sweetness and sexy fun, every story ends with a satisfying HEA and no cliffhangers. Each book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series in order.

An unexpected encounter with a sexy Frenchman makes Zio question everything he knows about himself. What’s the harm in exploring his new feelings of attraction for Armand while on vacation in a tropical paradise?
I, of course, have read this series out of order...what else is new? I really don't see that it effected the stories...since each story features different characters. This series is all very special, but I thought this book was a bit more special. It’s about being able to be yourself... flaws and all... and accepting love from someone, but it’s also about simply loving that very, very special someone that's...YOURSELF!

We first meet Armand as a sexy playboy in the book Picture Love by this same wonderful author. Armand totally stole the spotlight, and I was waiting to get his story. We then meet the "real" Armand...not Armand the playboy but the one that exists behind the playboy. He was nothing short of incredible. We met the other character, Zio, in the book, Snowbody Like You. He was Armand's sweet loveable roommate and best friend. These two are so absolutely perfect for one another. Armand loves all of Zio, even the things he sometimes finds slightly unlovable. Zio is simply drawn to Armand, but he isn't entirely sure why. What ensues is a beautiful story of two people who learn to love themselves as well as each other.

The book isn't "new, new" but it was new to me. Ariella Zoelle has put out many other books since writing this series, and I own and have read most all of them. I believe that this one is AMONG the best, if not THE best that she has given us yet. Each and every book gets better and better, and she is able to weave a unique story into each one. You will also absolutely adore every single character and will be invested in them finding and having their own happiness. If you love sweet and steamy romances, this one is diffidently calling your name, and while you're at it, check out some of her others. Just be aware that the characters in all of them are "same sex couples."

What I thought was extremely special in this one, other than it being another great story, was how the author treated both the anxiety and the OCD issues. These subjects are only parts of the characters and are not made to be their entirety. The subjects are presented and handled with care and feel very real in the way she describes them. I work with youth that nearly all have anxiety issues or OCD. I have to say, many, many kudos to Ariella Zoelle for getting this 150% right, while making it something that if someone with either condition should happen to read this, will feel they are "seen" and know that they diffidently can be, and are loved.

Flawsome Explorations is a sweet, instalove romance with two likable heroes. It's very low angst story with nothing but romance and some light-hearted fun.

I really liked it. It was definitely the story I was in the mood to read. If you enjoyed the first book, you'll most likely like this story too.

If you crave a slow burn, angsty romance with a lot of conflict, this book is NOT for you.

3.5 stars.
Armand’s eyes are scanning the hotel bar, looking for a hookup. He’s a bit of a playboy, only hookups and no strings. When his eyes fall on a shy-looking guy he knows this will be quite a different evening than he expected.

Zio is a student in the Japanese department at Sunnyside University, he knows everything about the art form kintsugi. That’s already something extraordinary.
Armand is the assistant of his best friend Arsène, who’s a fashion photographer.

When they connect it’s clear, they are meant for each other.

Who wouldn’t be swooned by endearments in the most romantic language there is French, and what is more sexy than English with a French accent!
They are a perfect fit, Armand is soothing for Zio’s anxiety. Armand finds with Zio what a real connection means.

It was a fun story and a bit ott. It didn’t matter because both main characters were awesomely lovable, they had fun in and outside the bedroom.
Imagine a super shy geek and a super confident understanding playboy. It was super super instant, I have difficulties with instants, sometimes you just have to give in and enjoy the ride.
In the beginning, I didn’t know what to think of Armand, later in the story, I could only love him, he was genuine and that was palpable. Zio was shy and inexperienced with guys, he’s suffering mildly anxiety, OCD, and has panic attacks. Armand is soothing for Zio.
What I missed was the icing on the cake, that would have been awesome.
Overall a sweet, sexy, instant-love, age-gap, bi-sexual awakening, love story, slightly developed, besides some short encounters with supportive friends and family, it was all about the connection and blooming love of Zio and Armand.

3.5* of sweet holiday romance

This is the second book in the Suite Dreams series. It is tied into the first book, but you don't need to have read it to enjoy this one. Whilst that was a pretty kinky read, this is a much sweeter, instalove story.

Zio is a grad student using his brothers reward points to stay in a five star hotel suite whilst in Hawaii to deliver a conference paper on his studies into Japanese ceramics gold thread repairs. He meets Armand in the bar of the hotel, and finds his whole life views change thanks to this man. As they spend time together learning about each other, it is clear that Zio has come to realise that he is indeed attracted to Armand. The only question left is how they will make it work ... and it is fun to be a passenger along their romantic journey.

Sweet and low angst are the very enjoyable features in this relaxed and fun read. Sometimes such a book is just what you need, enjoy!

Zio (Fabrizio) + Armand
•A French hedonist intrigued by a young man in a hotel bar
•A shy and anxious graduate student in Japanese studies
•An instant kinship and mutual attraction
•A week in paradise (Hawaii) getting to know each other’s
•No drama at all, and not much excitement either
I found it a bit boring and repetitive. It’s pretty much insta-love since they spend 2 days together, one day doing things separately, and on the fourth day they are boyfriends in love. Conversations felt a bit stilted and unrealistic to me. I’m still keen on reading the rest of the series though.

If you want a super duper sweet, I'm talking mega sweet, insta love, low angst story this is the one for you! I read this after reading a really heavy book and this just wiped away the heaviness and made everything better. I love opposites when they attract and Zio and Armand fit the bill. This was a good sexy, shy, flirty book that just made my day.

If you want super cheesy romance, this may be for you. I liked the bits of history peppered in, and I find kintsugi very interesting overall, so that part was fun. I could also connect to some aspects of the interactions and anxiety. But overall, the book lasted too long for how cheesy it felt to me.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

The second of the Suite Dreams books is pure cheezy schmaltz. Armand is a smooth-talking French lothario who falls for a timid American grad student at a fancy Hawaiian resort. Zio doesn’t know what he’s done to attract Armand’s attention and it takes him some time to trust the older man’s intentions.

This story has been told a million times. It’s instalove with stock characters and an entirely predictable storyline. Only the details of Zio’s Japanese ceramic art add interest to the basic, old-school Harlequin style romance. This is extreme istalove. Armand is a changed man making wildly romantic gestures and declarations after one meeting. After two meetings, Zio is re-thinking his entire sexual identity.

The sex is hot in this book, but it’s not as imaginative or as kinky as the sex in Jude and Rigby’s book. Where the first book works as erotica, this is definitely classic romance. Unfortunately, the writing is just as clunky in this book - with less sex to offset the stilted prose. English is Armand’s second language so it was easier to believe in his formal speech patterns, but Zio sounds way too formal for a grad student. Also, I’ll never understand the American obsession with Hawaii. As a non-American, I found it impossible to get excited about Zio’s room in a chain hotel on a crowded tourist island.

I’ve not engaged well with the world building in the first two of these books. The weird obsession with a chain of hotels just feels odd to me. The men in this series all seem way too old to be grad students. They speak like 50 year olds but behave like 20 year olds - and it just doesn’t work for me. I really enjoyed the kink in the first book but this one left me cold.

DNF this one. One MC is sweet, nerdy and interesting grad student. He is in Hawaii at a conference and ends us meeting a older french man in a bar who so happens to live in the same small college town he does. MC one is straight but has a electric attraction to gay MC two. I didn't ever buy into this over the top insta love and attraction between these two. I am not usually into age gap but that wasn't even what bothered me. MC two was a player but he immediately declared that MC one got him like no one else and is willing to commit after hardly any time together. I am not bothered by insta love if it's even remotely believable but this wasn't. Just not my cup of tea.

This is a better book than the first because it actually has a story, not just a series of sexcapades.
I still struggled to connect with the main characters, so I couldn’t get comfortable in the story.
Hopefully as the series progresses the stories will get better.
I received this book from GRR. This is my honest review.

The next stop in Ariella Zoelle's Sunnyside universe is the Suite Dreams series (they all take place at Luxuriant Suites Hotels, hence the suite/sweet dreams pun). The second book is "Flawsome Explorations."

I love it when cocky playboys get their comeuppance and fall desperately in love. Desperately and softly and completely and irrevocably. With all of the acceptance and confidence that you wouldn't expect. Then again, this is a no-angst series, so...so Armand really wouldn't fight it all that hard would he?

Zio fought it, but it was more his anxiety. He wasn't sure why he was attracted to a man, or why Armand had to be so damn gorgeous, or if it was really really real. His subconscious fell hard and fast though.

This book was so cute and fun and fluffy, filled with cameos from the previous few books.

Flawsome Explorations is a perfect romance for those who enjoy a little-to-no angst, maddeningly sweet story with two lovable men who are perfect for each other.
We met Zio in book one of this series and he's now staying in Hawaii for a conference with a little bit of playing tourist as well. Armand first appeared in the Good Bad Idea series and I've been eagerly awaiting his HEA. He's scouting locations for his boss/best friend to take some photography shots and comes across Zio on their first night at the hotel. Each man is surprised at the connection that they feel towards the other but there is no denying the pull to each other that they share.
Even though this takes place over a few days, their love story doesn't feel rushed, more of a natural progression for them, something that was supposed to happen. Zio stresses as he's never felt anything towards another man and his anxiety has him over thinking things, a lot but Armand has an innate ability to calm him and even keep it at bay. Armand has always been a man in pursuit of pleasure, never spending more than one night with someone so the ease which he has around Zio to be his true self and show his flaws, really endeared me to his character. There is sweetness, heat and fun aplenty as they share everything over the holiday. I love how Zio's love and work with Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken items with gold, is brought into play with both men sharing their broken selves with each other in such a beautiful location.
As always, a fantastic romance from Ariella. I love all of her characters from the world that she has created and it was great getting some cameos from previous men too. Definitely another recommended read.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Flawsome Explorations is the second book in Zoelle's newest series and has a few cameo appearances from the first book, as well as some cross-over characters from the Good Bad Idea series. All of this enriches the story as readers can get a comfortable feeling from settling in for the ride with all the extra feels reading a series provides. (But, if you haven’t read the previous books, I feel like you can jump in here and be fine.)

Armand is an older playboy that has the swoony factor of a sexy French accent and the maturity to be secure in himself. He also has a history of seeking pleasure wherever he can find it. This has always been his pattern and he feels comfortable sticking with that plan. Why? Because it's safer for his heart, of course. Then enters Zio. Sweet, nerdy Zio. Someone who is absolutely not secure in himself, younger, and has been dating only women. Their meeting seems unlikely and fortuitous at the same time. This book explores their journey toward feeling comfortable enough to open up their heart for the other, however different their pasts have been.

Expect to read lovingly wrought, funny banter along with very steamy sexy times between a man who has pretty much done it all and a man that has never even thought about being with another man.

I highly recommend Flawsome Explorations to readers looking for a sweet insta-love, no-angst and fun story with lots of swoony romance.... but also seeking plenty of steamy fun as well.

3.5/5 This is definitely a novel about instalove, but I felt it did a better job than the first in the series of showing the feelings to me, not just telling me. Zio’s journey to figure out how he was feeling since he thought he was straight helped slow down winding up immediately in bed, and I felt like Zio and Armand therefore had more time on the page actually getting to know one another and spending actual time with one another.

I enjoyed seeing Armand figure out how Zio thought and accommodating him. (I don’t know enough to say if it was realistic that another person could have such a positive impact on Zio’s anxiety, but I certainly *wanted* it to be true. I love the idea of unconditional acceptance helping with mental health.) Since the premise of this story is that Armand is a player out of fear of being rejected if he actually connects with someone but he connects with Zio anyway, it felt like Zio was still bringing a lot to the relationship too, a connection that Armand always wanted but always denied himself. I enjoyed seeing them both find the perfect relationship together. I liked how supportive their family and friends were, genuinely helping them towards happiness (even with the teasing, lol).

Zio and Armand’s story is whole lot of instalove, and if I’m honest, a bit too much of it. I quite like this trope, but once again, following the exact same formula has made it a bit boring and overly predictable. In what seems like every book by this author, it’s always a charming playboy who does a one-eighty and falls so completely for the other MC after one initial meeting. Then there is all the romantic and somewhat cheesy dialogue, along with so much steam. I liked how there was more focus on the romantic connection between Zio and Armand in this one compared to the first book. But, it still doesn’t have enough meat to the story to feel any different to previous works by this author. I probably could have replaced the characters with two from a couple of the Good Bad Idea series and - apart from the setting - I would have still felt as though I was reading the same book.

I will say that Armand and Zio are both likeable characters, and if you enjoy instalove and page-after-page of sweetness, then this will be a great book for you. This is why I ended up finishing. I’m enough of a fan of gooey romance that I still melted with every gesture Armand made for Zio.

Soooooo Good!

“From the first moment I saw you, I was drawn to you. Perhaps it was indeed my soul recognizing yours as my long-lost mate.”

I love Arielle Zoelle’s books! The characters are always so easy to fall in love with and get invested in. They fall hard and fast and the stories have low angst and are all about them exploring their relationship. Armand is a little overwhelming at first. He is an unrepentant flirt and playboy, completely unafraid to go after what he wants. Zio is quickly steamrolled under his charming personality and swept off his feet. Despite his inner anxiety trying to convince him everything is too good to be true, Zio takes a leap and grabs on with both hands. After all, his inner jerk keeps making really good points for taking a chance. I was overcome with all of the sweetness in this book!!! The love, the spicy heat, and the completely adorable completeness of these two together almost gave me a toothache and I loved every word! Another great book from one of my automatic buy/read authors for sweet and steamy stories!

Story: 4.5 Stars

From beginning to end, I read this swoony, no-angst love story with big ol' heart eyes and contented sighs. Armand (38) and Zio (26) - a self-assured playboy and a nerdy academic - are opposites who meet by chance on vacation and share an undeniable, magnetic pull toward one another.

Both are such likeable characters whose flirting is adorable and heated, and Zio is especially endearing as he explores his bisexuality and works through some anxiety, insecurity and self-doubt early on. Their love story is delightfully fluffy, steamy and swoony as both fully open their heart to another for the first time, and it left me with a warm fuzzy feeling to have taken this super sweet journey with them.

Flawsome Explorations is the second book in the Suite Dreams series and is part of the author's crossover Sunnyside universe. I also highly recommend "Picture Love," in which Armand features prominently in his best friend Arsène's own swoony love story. I received an advance reading e-copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily. (Also read in KU.)

So, so boring - read on KU

This is my 5th book by this author, so that contributed to some of the boredom. They are all alike. However, we did finally get a book where the MCs don't have sex 5 hours, or less, after meeting. They don't do anything other than kiss with all their clothes on until their 3rd day together. But the dialogue was so bad. Armand is dry and stuffy. He uses more complex words than needed or normally used in every day conversation. I don't know if that was supposed to because English isn't his first language. Whatever the reason, it was painful to read. Most of his lines were cheesy. Zio was better but accepted being gay way too easily to be realistic.

I recommend reading a couple of her books, at most, at a time. Spreading them out between other books would make them seem better. I also recommend the series with Iason Leyland's band over this one. His book is the best in the series. Iason actually meets Orion's parents before they sleep together.

Book two in the Suite Dreams series has insta-love, age-gap, a romantic island setting and 2 MC’s perfect for each other even if they don’t know how perfect at first. Walking into the hotel bar Armand spots Zio and is instantly drawn to him. Only one problem…the usual love em and leave em Frenchman has his sights set on a ”straight” man. Zio has always identified as straight, but after one night just conversing with Armand leaves him questioning his sexuality he needs to learn more. Flirtation turns to friendship and more. But, can Zio’s anxious nature let him believe that the handsome, worldly Armand truly wants to have a relationship with a nerdy, younger, Japanese studies grad student who is inexperienced with MM intimacy? It was so cute watching Armand patiently wear Zio down with his French endearments and no-strings friendship. Each man found something in the other they never had before. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A meeting between a nerdy straight guy (Zio) and a sophisticated older French gay guy (Armand) causes sparks to fly. Zio is drawn to Armand; he attempts to hold back, but it's hard to resist Armand's flirtateous teasing, which awakens certain desires in Zio that he's never felt before for another man. But wait, Zio is straight, isn't he? So why does he have these feelings for Armand?

This is Book 2 in the Suite Dreams series, but it appears to be a continuation, or crossover, of the Good Bad Idea series. However, this book stands alone. The romance develops at a brisk pace, and we see how Zio and Armand complement each other in their relationship, in spite of their different personalities. An entertaining story containing GFY, age-gap, instalove, and very little angst, combined with a sweet romance, and a satisfying HEA. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Amazing!!!

This is by far my favorite one. It’s funny because I didn’t think I’d like Armand that much. I guess It’s because Zio brings out all his best qualities. Zio is adorable and sweet. It breaks my heart that his parents are the way they are. I love my kids and all their quirks and uniqueness. Anxiety is so hard on those that suffer with it. One of my kids has to deal with that struggle and I wish I could over ride that inner voice in their head. And the joy snd pride I feel when they do something that would make me nervous blows me away. I wanted to really think before I wrote this review. I even read the book twice to make sure I gave it justice. The way the author did these characters was not only beautiful but made it easy to connect with both them and the story on a deeply personal level. Thank you. Simple but truly felt.

I really loved this book! This is the second book in the Suite Dreams series and I hope it is not the last. This is a low angst book, sweet, and sexy. Full of fun characters that draw you in. Although there are cameos from the first book (and some from her other series) it can be read as a standalone and you will enjoy it to its fullest.
I loved Zio and Armand. Zio is a grad student who is staying at the hotel getting ready to present his paper at a conference that Armand is staying at the hotel. Armand literally changes Zio forever. Zio had always thought he was straight until he met Armand. This book is definitely in the insta-love super sweet almost sacraney category which is definitely one of my favorites! I definitely recommend this book. I received this arc from GRR and this is my honest review

Taking a chance can exceed expectations! Armand is a world traveler used to the finer things in life. He is a playa, a little spoiled by his Blessings. He sees Zio in a bar, is attracted to his looks and stays for his personality. Imperfections seems to be the glue that brings them to each other. Does a willingness to view imperfections, open one up to seeing the whole picture? Zio, believed himself to be straight, but the wonder and beauty of Armand, had him considering freeing his mind. The courtship is a delightful read. Can they see behind each others' curtains? Will the relationship go beyond spring break? Will they meet up back in Sunnyside? Can they blend their lifestyles? Armand and Zio are absolutely adorable and fun as individuals, very likeable. Excellent series. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Zio, who sounds like an absolute cutie, who studies the art of imperfection is on a quest to learn that you can't always perfectly know thyself. This is another really uplifting story about two people who find one another and in coming together add so much to one another's existence. Zio is young and he was unaware that he could be attracted to a man. And in opening himself to that as he spends time with Armand he becomes more of a seeker than he has been. Armand who initially was looking to settle for a fling finds in this darling young man a hope for a future with someone special. This steamy sweet duo made my afternoon as I devoured their story like good cake with even better icing. Just what I needed. I am looking forward to the next story in this series.

Armand is in Hawaii scoping out places for Arsene’s photo shoot and Zio is there for a conference. Armand approaches Zio at a bar and although Zio is not the typical person Armand goes for, there’s something that draws him in. Well it turns out that Zio is exactly the type of person Armand needed but never allowed himself to have because he was trying to keep his heart safe. They begin to spend time together sightseeing and even though Zio has never been with a man, he begins to feel a strong connection to Armand. The relationship develops quickly from there. And in typical Ariella fashion it’s a super sweet, steamy love story that gives you all the feelings. Of course we have cameos from our favorite found family who welcome Zio with open arms.

I had an ADC copy of this book for review as well as the prior book in the series. I actually was quite engrossed with the way this book was written. The language used, the knowledgeof Japanese art and the depth of understanding the effect life has on the human soul are truly amazing. Armand has a tremendous depth of patience and understanding for Zio (Fabrizio) as we find they share some background but still Zio's psyche certainly is the deeper embedded and Armand's understanding helps Zio release some of his fears and OCD. While the plot moves slowly (sepite an immediate connection), it was a necessity if one is to fully understand the emotions and rejoice in the conclusion. I highly recommend this book.

4.5 Perfect Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I could not get enough of these guys!!! Armand and Zio were so perfectly imperfect together, the relationship was a perfect balance of sweet and oh so spicy!!! Armand was so patient and loving toward a slightly neurotic and anxious Zio, in turn Zio gave Armand the love and security he's always longed for but never knew he needed ❤️ So swoon worthy!!!!! I'm absolutely loving this series, usually insta-love isn't my thing but done right....it doesn't even matter and these books are done right!!! I cannot wait to see what's next in this series I have my wishlist of who I want next 😬 I would defiantly recommend this book and this series IMO it just keeps getting better ❤️

Flawsome Explorations is a sweet-heat instalove story in a dreamy setting. If you're looking for a low-angst romantic escape, this book fits the bill. Zio is a graduate student in Japanese studies with a passion for kintsugi, while Armand is a world-traveled playboy with a heart of gold. Together they are able to get through each other's defenses and learn to be vulnerable in love. The characters are very likeable, with real depth and feeling. Zio's struggles with anxiety and OCD are handled compassionately by both the author and Armand. The setting is lush, and will make you wish you had your own penthouse suite overlooking the beach.
