The saga continues. Jason is taken prisoner and his world is turned into chaos. But those in power don't realize that they are dealing with a man used to chaos. A man who knows how to use chaos to his advantage. With his focus on family first, community second, Jason now expands his concerns to the federal level as he finds himself embroiled in national political intrigue.
Liked first 4 books immensely. Then "Escape". Totally boring. Stupid story, repeditive chapters. Very disturbed by description & behavior of Secretary of State. He complains, fat and has to be prodded with a knife tip. He has zero to say in book except "the water doesn't taste good". obvious bigotry. Too many trite diatribes. Emailed several of my US Marine pals who I trade book Reco'd with. I told them to avoid Nees. I skimmed almost half the book. Every chapter was virtually the same as the preceding chapter. I thought Nees had class. Disappointing.
Oh my goodness I love Mr. Nees writing. If there ever is an EMP I sure want someone like his main character, Jason Richards, in my life. The books are a page turner and it’s hard to put them down to go to sleep. This one delves into politics and how the President’s staff helps/hinders the healing of the US. I’m just sad I finished it without realizing book 2 was not finished. If you like apocalyptic novels, his are excellent.
This review is a preview for the next book. This story was provided all the suspense and could ask for. The only part I don't like is the end cause it leaves you hanging to read the next book. I will be watching for the next one. I hope it comes quickly. Thanks for all the entertainment.
Good momentum; eminently readable. A few minor quibbles over word choice and spelling, very likely due to autocorrect and some such software. Jason is a likable hero, one who just wants to raise his family in peace. Unfortunately that puts him crosswise of those wanting to feather their own nests.
Loved the storyline. Strong writing. One problem I did have doesn’t have anything to do with the author. There are always a few typos, particularly in the digital books (not just Nees’ books). This one, however, was full of them to the point of being distracting. You may want to check into that.
Jason's story keeps being interesting. If you liked the other Jason books there's no reason you wouldn't like this. I'm not an author just a reader. Great book great author. Going to check out his Dan Stone stuff since I'm caught up on Jason's books (for now).
