a great introduction to the life of imam ali (a.s) and written beautifully too, i do however wish it went into further detail about the events outlined in the novel, and perhaps explored what situations/circumstances inspired the teachings, sermons/letters in his work nahj al balagha. nonetheless very inspiring to read but heartbreaking too

Not like any other depiction of the lives of Banu Hashem...

For some, the stories that encapsulate the presence of Imam Ali (as) have been ingrained in us and run through our veins. This historical narrative is written in a way that grants this gift to anyone that did not have such an experience in their youth. An endearing written illustration of the life of Ali inn Abi Talib is written like a tale being passed down from generation to generation. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to experience the life of Imam Ali (as) in a uniquely written narrative.

Gazing at Ali is worship" ~Prophet Mohammed (pbuh).

Ali: The Elixir of Love is a historic narrative outlining the biography of Ameerul Momineen, commander of the faithful. Unveiling his life experiences and events it focuses on the teachings and lessons of life. Being a closest companion to our prophet Mohammad (pbuh), Imam Ali would go to every extent intending to protect him. Moreover, one of the most captivating aspects of this book is how he endured tough times with his utmost belief in Allah. His patience and courage in the midst of adversities is a lesson to ponder.
Overall, this book is a great start for those willing to know more about Imam Ali and his life. I would definitely recommend this book as it emphasizes the life history of a great warrior and eternal legend ~ Imam Ali.
"Ali is with the Truth, it turns wherever he may go" ~ prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

“Your cure is within you, yet you do not sense it. Your sickness if from you, yet you do not see it. You are the ‘Clarifying Book’ through whose letter becomes manifest the hidden. You presume you are insignificant, while within you lies the greater universe. You would not need what is outside of you, if only you would reflect.”

i started reading this book to know more about the greatness of Ali (as), and about his wisdom. But I sensed a portion of hatred, this book will create more difference between two major sects.

As a devout Shia, the author has written some wrong narrations about Hazrat Umar (ra).

I felt that the book had the "shia" touch to it but in the best way possible. I've fallen in love with Ali all over again

i love when religious books are written like this, like a story; it makes it easier to follow and more relatable. i felt a much deeper connection with the holy personalities as opposed to if it was just a biography or facts simply written down. i felt like crying for them on multiple occasions and really felt how difficult their lives were. i would’ve loved if it was longer with more depth

I've been meaning to read this for sometime now but picked it up last night and just finished it - am I glad I decided to read this!

All I can say is: even if you know and love Ali ibn Abu Taleb (as) - this book will remind you why you love him and re-awaken and re-affirm your love for him.

If you don't know who Ali ibn Abu Taleb is then I would advise to start with this book.

It is short and written in simple words yet articulated so beautifully!

Amazing from start to finish - if I could I would give it more than just 5 stars!

This book was lovely and we need more of this style of writing!!

This book was a biography but it was also a story. It was captivating by the imagery and description but fed you spoonfuls of knowledge along the way. I also appreciated how it highlighted on the over overlooked oppression that Imam Ali AS went through. It was truly beautiful and I would recommend this book to all the lovers of Ameeral Mu’mineen.

Ya Ali Madad!!

Beautiful narrative of the life and leadership of Imam Ali (as). I loved the story telling approach that the author used as opposed to a historical text.

I recently finished reading this book, which offers a detailed portrayal of Imam Ali’s (AS) remarkable life. Without a doubt, Imam Ali (AS) is one of the most revered figures in history, and his wisdom, character, and spiritual legacy are beautifully captured in the book. As the Prophet Muhammad PBUH famously said, “Whoever I am the master of, Ali is his master.”

That said, I felt the book leaned heavily toward a single perspective. When it comes to historical events, particularly those with differing interpretations, I believe it’s essential to present all sides fairly. This allows readers to explore the full scope of history and form their own understanding. While the book does an excellent job of highlighting Imam Ali’s (AS) virtues, a more balanced approach could have added more depth to the narrative.

If you’re planning to read this book, I highly recommend researching other sources to get a variety of perspectives. This book is not for readers who won’t bother looking into references or alternative views, as it doesn’t provide the full picture on some historical conflicts. Additionally, it took me double the time it normally takes to finish a book of this length because I frequently paused to look up different references for a more comprehensive understanding of the events.

An incredibly enjoyable read. It is written in a story-like structure so it flows beautifully.

I was legitimately hooked and couldn't wait to pick it back up to continue reading.

I learnt FAR more than I thought I would, I highly recommend this wonderful historical narrative.

The language used in the writing is intricately chosen and is very descriptive which allowed me to visualise all of the historical events in my mind very clearly, from the battles where the Imam was a courageous warrior to the hushed moments of the night when he would drop off satchels of food to the hungry without leaving a trace.

Just incredible.

very informative, engaging and an absolutely beautiful depiction of Imam Ali (a.s)'s life.
my favourite part was the last chapter- the letter written to Imam Hassan (a.s.), it was full of wisdom and meaningful advice to the muslim youth of today! Alhumdulillah for being the Shi'a of such an immaculate leader.
