From the bestselling author of Grit and Old Dogs comes this collection of the first three books of the popular Western series, THE BLOOD HOUNDS.
THE BLOOD HOUNDS - Book 1 Fifteen years after the disappearance of Miranda Wheaton, Pinkerton agents Trace Crockett and Darby Maguire must leave no stone unturned while evading Kansas twisters, surviving Dodge City gunfights, and embarking on a treacherous journey to "No Man's Land," as the two "blood hounds" try to pick up the scent of the missing young woman.
NO MAN’S LAND - Book 2 In the aftermath of a bloody train robbery, The Pinkerton Detective Agency enlists the newly married detectives Trace and Darby Crockett to track down the gold bullion that was stolen from the train, as well as one of the passengers who was abducted by the outlaws: the fifteen year-old daughter of a railroad executive.
LOOKING FOR TROUBLE - Book 3 Thirteen-year-old Brady “Trouble” Yates takes a detour when he hears gunshots and hysterical screaming on his way from a trip into the small town of Lockwood, Wyoming and decides he should investigate the commotion. What Brady discovers puts his own life at risk, and he knows he can’t return home, so he heads for the hills to lie low while he plots his next move. Enter “the blood hounds,” Trace and Darby Crockett, former Pinkerton detectives, who are hired not only to investigate the disappearance of Brady Yates but also the murder of a local lawman. Are the two events related?

And Sparks fly when these two meet. Have to find the clues to find the missing Miranda Wheaton who has been missing for 14 years. There's not many clues but they have a clue to go to the stable at dusk and meet somebody there who has more information. But there is a shoot out there and the informant is shot and two of the criminals are shot. A third one gets away and who knows how many are around. After snooping around town Trace comes back to his room and find the door open so carefully pulls this gun and sneaks in. There he finds Audra camped out in his room hiding she says from the other criminals turns out she's the informant partner. She knows where to go next and they figured they're going to have a couple of criminals on their tail as they go.
The only complaints I have are small. One was smarter of editing. They said shoes instead of shod. Small I know but in books this well crafted it stood out. The second was of more concern. It seemed like the last chapter of book two was missing. Books one and three tied everything up neatly and in a way to feel satisfied and complete but the second book felt unfinished. Not in keeping with the well crafted style of the other two books. I hope we will see more of these characters.
4th series of his and will locate and read all rest. His westerns have interesting plots and great characters. I really enjoyed The Blood Hounds especially the one with Trouble, Ethan, and Hannah as had read about Lockdown with the Accidental Sheriff already when Trouble was bit older. Darby & Trace entertaining couple and want more or of Clay & Megan & Pirate too
Really enjoy Ron's writing style, story lines and his thorough historical research. I have learned a great deal about 1870-90 years of the life style on the Great Plains while enjoying good stories. I have read all but 1 or 2 of Ron's books and hope to finish those very soon.
Ron is a gifted writer. His storytelling is ripe with twists and turns that keep the reader enthralled with the evolving storyline. The characters are well developed and interesting people. He weaves little tidbits of his character's personalities throughout that makes them human and believable. That Blood Hounds is a great read! Thanks Ron.
Enjoyed all of books with the Husband and Wife. Those two sure get around. I have read so much about the pickdersons. Some good, some bad. Write more about families and spouses, friends. Jd
What a wonderful saga in these 3 books. I would definitely want to read them in order. They could be stand alone but you would miss the buildup from book to book. I'd like to see a fourth with Audra getting her happy life.
I chose this rating because it deserved it. I love this mans writings, through the laughter and a few times there were tears of joy for those that deserved the happiness they ended up with. So many times I laughed and also snorted. Great books🤗
I can't recall when I have enjoyed three western stories as much as The Bloodhounds! All three were hard to put down, with interesting characters that were realistic and non stop action. I will follow Ron Schwab from now on!
This is and was a very enjoyable series that has been written by a great author. I would recommend this book to all advid readers of western fiction. The series of books keeps you interested throughout. I highly recommend this book series, well written.
Book is well written and keeps you interested. Would recommend to all adults. story is a little predictable, but there are surprises also. A book you want to keep reading.
while westerns are not my usual reading, I was glad that I downloaded this series. I really liked the Liked the detective angle along with the kids that played an important part in each book. Well worth reading.
A great and enjoyable series. The old west, what hardships people had to endure to survive. The characters were great and and reminded me of the way the Wild West stories I grew up with were.
The blood hounds box set is well worth reading, the characters are each enjoyable and you want to learn more about them, sure hope more books are coming with stories about them as with these characters the adventures will be filled with excitement
Book three was every bit as exciting as all the other books in this series have been. I hope that someday there might be another book in the series, I've throughly enjoyed the rich full characters and the weaving of each story just keeps the pages turning.
Human bloodhounds and animal bloodhounds make a good story even better.
Trace and Darby make a good pair of detectives. It seems they always get their man and produce an exciting adventure doing it. A good story. I liked it a lot. Mister Ron Schwab spins a good tale.
I LIKED THIS ONE BEST . IT WAS A FAST MOVING , NEW PEOPLE AND UNKNOWN BAD GUYS. !!! MY FAVORITE WAS THE WOLF DOG AND HER STRONG. , SMART TEANAGER FRIEND !!! DID I LEAVE OUR ALL THE GOOD GUYS.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading these books. Not really my genre but I will return to read more. I enjoyed being a part of history while still enjoying my mysteries. The characters were very real. I enjoyed getting to know them. Of course I know who the Pinkertons were were I got to know them better through kidnappings and train robbers and many more situations.
This was a great series. It’s good to see a franchise of sorts come out of an established company succeed. And the collective spirit of the team and their picking up strays with every case.
This series is good. It has mystery, violence, suicide, romance, kidnapping, greed, and a happy ending. I recommend reading the box set to enhance understanding.
