Michah Malone inherited the Malone hero complex from his father and his uncles. The moment he met Carina he knew there was something about her, he felt an instant connection to her and when he heard her story he went into overdrive.
Carina is a strong woman. She is a single mom to twin six-year-old boys and everything she had endured over the past 6+ years is absolutely heartbreaking, however, despite all the negative she never stopped fighting for her boys. They were truly the light in all her darkness. I loved the instant connection the boys had with Michah and how they so easily knew he would be good for them and he would do anything he could not only keep them safe, but also keep their mom safe.
Carina and Michach have a connection from the start, but given Carina’s past it wasn’t easy for her to first give into that connection, but she quickly warmed up to Michach. There are plenty of ups and downs in their relationship and of course, the past always comes back and causes some drama.
This story is emotional and at times may be hard for some people to read, but the strength in Carina is empowering.
If you’re looking for a single mom, romantic suspense, second ish chance romance this is one to check out.

Released is part of The Everyday Heroes World by K. Bromberg and I think Nicole Rodrigues did a fantastic job bringing this story to life, taking us back to the town of Sunnyville and to all the fantastic heroes and heroines that live there.
In this book we follow the story of Michah (Grant and Emerson's son) and single mother of twins Carina.
Carina's past relationship has let her as a shell of a person. The abuse that she has endured from her ex is something that she is ashamed of but can't do nothing about it. She will sacrifice everything for the lives of her sons. When she mets officer Michah she has no idea that he will become part of her salvation.
The attraction that Michah has for Carina is electric. He wants to protected her and her kids at all cost. He feels guilty for a secret he hasn't reveal to Carina yet and this will put their relationship on jeopardy.
This book deals with difficult topics, but I think Nicole did a fantastic job discussing this and I think this book is inspirational and I loved how Carina with the help of Michah and family is able to overcome all adversities.
I definitely recommend this book and the whole series.

The older Malone men are swoony, but I think Michah Malone is in a league of his own. He has the biggest heart and is so protective, which gives him a bit of an alpha side to him. He’s the total package, sweet and strong and just the description of him you know he’s attractive AF! And the patience on this man, never pushing, never asking for more than she’s willing to give just adds to his appeal!
As for Carina, she may think she’s weak and broken, but she is the exact opposite. She’s strong and determined and will do everything she can to protect her sons, even if it means sacrificing herself in the process. The chemistry between Carina and Michah jumps off the pages, but his patience with her and everything she’s been through was just amazing. These two complement each other so beautifully.
Everything about this story was amazing. Nicole is one of my favs, and I love that she doesn’t pull any punches. She writes about tough topics and she doesn’t shy away from the hard stuff. She has a way of writing these tough stories that are just beautiful in a way, and this story was no different. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t put this one down. I had to know what was going to happen next. Nicole nailed this story, and it is a wonderful addition to the Everyday Heroes World!

This review is a long time coming for me... I loved the story at first but some of the tougher subjects dealt with in the book definitely got to me!
It's a heart wrenching story that has its HEA, but be prepared for the many intense emotional moments 😭...so bring your tissue...🤧
Carina is living with her two boys and a past that will not let her go. Micah is a cop with a heart of gold and lord knows I'm a sucker for a man in blue who's a good cop and a good man.

This was yet another great romance novel by the swoon queen, Nicole Rodrigues.
Carina and her twins are running back home after her abusive relationship and Michah is exactly what they need, even if he harbors a secret that could destroy Carina's trust in him.
They were so hot together. I loved the slow burn, the suspense, and the banter.
If you're looking for a steamy, hot cop romance that will have you swooning hard, grab this one up!

I am in love with this book. The story, the characters, the heart, the heat, it all just works!!! This story is so beautifully paced. I couldn’t put it down.
Nicole Rodrigues takes a difficult topic as domestic abuse and shines a light, and shows hope and courage, and ultimately new beginnings. Somehow, even though this is a heavy topic, this read is not heavy at all. It’s uplifting and inspirational. This is a must read, five star beauty!
