A bold, interactive guide to discovering and creating the truest, most beautiful lives, families, and world we can imagine, based on the #1 New York Times bestseller Untamed
“We must stop asking people for directions to places they’ve never been. Every life is an unprecedented experiment. We are all pioneers. I created Get Untamed: The Journal as an interactive experience in charting our own way—so we can let burn that which is not true and beautiful enough and get started building what is.” —Glennon Doyle
With Untamed, Glennon Doyle—writer, activist, and “patron saint of female empowerment” (People)—ignited a movement. Untamed has been described as “a wake-up call” (Tracee Ellis Ross), “an anthem for women today” (Kristen Bell), and a book that “will shake your brain and make your soul scream” (Adele). Glennon now offers a new way of journaling, one that reveals how we can stop striving to meet others’ expectations—because when we finally learn that satisfying the world is impossible, we quit pleasing and start living. Whether or not you have read Untamed, this journal leads you to rediscover, and begin to trust, your own inner-voice.
Full of thought-provoking exercises, beloved quotations from Untamed, compelling illustrations, playful and meditative coloring pages, and an original introduction, in Get Untamed: The Journal, Glennon guides us through the process of examining the aspects of our lives that can make us feel caged. This revolutionary method for uprooting culturally-constructed ideas shows us how to discover for ourselves what we want to keep and what we’ll let burn so that we can build lives by design instead of default.
A one-of-a-kind journal experience, Get Untamed proves Glennon’s philosophy that “imagination is not where we go to escape reality, but where we go to remember it.”

"Being human is not hard because you're doing it wrong, it's hard because you're doing it right."
An amazing journal that gave me all the feels. Full of prompts that help you to think about the kind of person you want to be. Prompts that inspire you to break down barriers insid e your soul. The journal along withl the exercises helped me to reconnect to my Knowing, follow my gut, accept and embrace all my feelings, but most of all, become the truer, most amazing version of myself. Highly recommend! ❤️
I get a lot of coaching and journal materials. And I have done a fair amount of writing in my life. But these prompts were truly some of the best I've ever seen .So well constructed and building upon one another. I filled up the journal of the Christmas holidays in less than a week and then went back and wrote more.
A beautiful way to reflect on the book and process a reframing of my life. I didn’t always relate to what seemed to be the search to find my secret life that is just waiting to be revealed and change everything, like Glennon’s journey with her sexuality and Abby, but it was still good to dig deep into discovering my true desires and feelings.
I'm starting this year a little differently and have picked up journalling. I wasn't sure it would be for me... but I've been converted! Maybe it's this particular journal that is really resonating with me, however I'm really enjoying reflecting on myself as a mother, daughter, friend, partner and colleague. I'm getting so much out of the experience and already feel a lot lighter and re-energised. GET UNTAMED: The Journal by Glennon Doyle is beautifully presented with engaging and thought-provoking prompts that challenges what you think you and your life should be versus what your truest self is. I do feel that I lost a little of myself after becoming a mum, under all the additional pressures and new responsibilities, and that's one of the main things I'm unpacking right now. I haven't read UNTAMED yet but I'll definitely be checking it out after my experience with #GetUntamed Thanks to Penguin Books Australia for the gifted copy for review.
I pre-ordered this book with high anticipation but then opted to wait, and I re-read Untamed again to put me in a better state of mind for this journal journey. I wanted to wait for this to be my beginning for 2022.
Sooo...a book which started as somewhat encouraging for women in today's society, after its half turned into something, in my opinion, a bit extreme promotion of the modern storytelling around genderless. I simply disagree with the author stating that culture and we humans created differences between women and men, which is really surprising since in the book the storyteller raised a son herself too. If you ask any of my friends with kids they will tell you there is a natural difference between men and women and yes, men are by their nature less .."soft, gentle, etc.". Yes, one boy out of ten will probably like playing with dolls, but somehow the remaining nine will be still more interested in playing with small cars. And yes, probably one girl out of 10 will prefer playing with cars, but the fact is that the remaining nine will still prefer playing with dolls and wear pinky clothes...I agree that traditional way of rising kids as well as educational system and other external conditions put a focus even more on this difference, but rejecting facts given by the birth of human being and all the science and biology studies is a bit too far from the truth.
I love Glennon’s books and revel in the wisdom woven through each one. This journal is beautifully & thoughtfully written and is filled with thought-provoking prompts that invite real reflection. Some of the prompts felt heavy at times, but in a meaningful way; I appreciated the space they create for learning, writing, and self-exploration.
The only thing I didn’t enjoy about this journal (and said with affection) is that the journal is so nice and sturdy that even after a year of writing in it, it still looks nearly new. I tend to love a more well-worn, lived-in look to my journals, I suppose.
All that said, I highly recommend this journal to anyone seeking thoughtful guidance and intentional reflection.
Exceptional! It lies like a bible now at my nightstand, I do approach it everyday to work through, to process, to imagine, to muse over ideas the journal wants me to model on paper! OMG this book is so demanding! I didn’t expect it to be so hard, but I feel like it is the right kind of hard, truly. It’s always easier just read and enjoy, but the journal really offers to make a progress, to evolve, to let go, to sink deep and feel it all! Get Untamed: The Journal is a great friend that is here for you, forever. I absolutely love it and by now, it’s helped me to get thru the days and feel satisfaction and my own worth.
I never give ANYTHING a perfect score because nothing is perfect. This journal is perfect for me right now. I bought it yesterday and decided to read it cover to cover today. By the last section I had tears rolling down my face. Realizations that came to mind as I was reading this hit deeply. I look forward to untaming myself by working through the exercises in this journal. This book couldn’t have found me at a better suited point in my life.
Some questions won't apply to all readers - mainly the God and parenthood stuff - and some prompts are oddly structured, some asking you to write comprehensive thoughts in a small space while other prompts are subdivided in a way that can leave them spread thin. All in all though, it's a great exercise in self care and reflection for those who enjoyed the book.
I enjoyed working through this journal. Some sections were tougher than others. Some required breaks to think about or recover from dredging stuff up. I would love to take my answers and write further into them so it definitely sparks your mind.
Love love loved this journal! I made it through in a month and a half and wished there were more. Working each page revived my love of journaling and now I’m writing everyday. Thank you for this gift of a kickstart, Glennon!
This journal is so lovely, and full of both wisdom and the space to dig deep and find my own wisdom. It’s the perfect companion journal to Glennon Doyle‘s book Untamed.
Really liked it in thr beginning, but after 50% it felt like it was all a bit the same. So I quit filling everything out. Might be a great help to others, not so for me.
Glennon Doyle is geweldig. En dankzij haar worden wij dat ook (we zijn het misschien zelfs al). Merci Glennon!
Honestly, I understood this better than her book. But I enjoyed it not only mentally reevaluating my beliefs and what my roles should be but actually writing it done. Nice companion to the novel.
