Tenley Cortez finally had everything going for her; a job that she enjoyed, her friends and family, and a man who treated her with love and respect. But when her toxic ex-boyfriend shows back up and decides he wants to rekindle their relationship to further his shady business dealings things get a little dicey, not to mention dangerous. His violent and cruel heart forces her to distance herself not only from the man she loves but her friends and family as well. She desperately wants to tell her story, but fear holds her silent. With her broken heart and constant fear, she throws herself into her work by traveling to Ecuador on a humanitarian aid trip. She was not expecting someone to be waiting there for her to further complicate her life.
All that Rex “Potter” Richardson wanted to do was a live simple life alone outside of his career as a Navy SEAL. That was until a few months ago when the gorgeous and outgoing Tenley Cortez walked into his life and stole his heart. After a sudden and unexplained breakup, Potter is left with questions. The sudden distance Tenley puts between herself and her friends and family further adds to the mystery. When Potter and the team are called out for a mission to South America, he learns a shocking revelation about Tenley that threatens to unravel everything.
Together, can Potter and Tenley pick their way through the webs of deceit, blackmail, and violence to get their happily ever after?
Jaime Lewis, a USA TODAY bestselling author, entered the indie author world in June, 2020, with ACE, the first book in the Trident Series.
Coming from a military family she describes as very patriotic, it’s no surprise that her books are known for their accurate portrayal of life in the service.
Passionate in her support of the military, veterans and first responders, Jaime volunteers with the Daytona Division of the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps, a non-profit youth leadership development program sponsored by the U.S. Navy. Together with her son, she also manages a charity organization that supports military personnel and their families, along with veterans and first responders.
Born and raised in Edgewater, Maryland, Jaime now resides in Ormond Beach, Florida with her husband and two very active boys.
Between her day job, her two boys and writing, she doesn’t have a heap of spare time, but if she does you’ll find her somewhere in the outdoors. Jaime is also an avid sports fan.
I enjoy a bit of romantic tension in my reading, I can get behind a bit of a tiff between lovers, as long as it’s done realistically. I don’t think both parties automatically have to apologize especially if one goes off the rails with no reason, which is what Potter did, his going off, his insulting insinuations and storming off were not warranted by what Tenley was telling him, what he should have been feeling was concern for her well being. So I don’t get why she felt she had anything to apologize for, and yet she does constantly, and that peeved me. That took away a bit of my enjoyment of the story, but it was still a sweet and happy ending that I did enjoy.
This is book two of the Trident series. It’s well written and has a good storyline with a few irritating parts in the plot. This was my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last. I haven’t read the first book in the series yet but it’s on my “to read” list. This book reads as a standalone and I didn’t feel lost even though I haven’t read the first book. I would definitely recommend reading the first one since each book is about one of the team members finding that special someone so past characters do interact throughout the book. My only frustration with this book is Tenley the female protagonist. She repeatedly makes very dumb and dangerous decisions. She refuses to tell not only her Navy SEAL boyfriend what’s going on but also her three best friends, two of which are also Navy SEALs and the other is married to one. She also doesn’t confide in her father figure who is also a Navy SEAL. Seriously with that many protective men in her life why would she keep all that is going on to herself? I understand maybe staying quiet the first time when she runs to Ecuador to help out and escape her ex but after that she’s just willfully putting everyone around her and herself in harm’s way. No one’s perfect and people make crazy decisions when they are scared but Tenley takes it to a whole other level. The reason I gave this book four stars is because Potter and the rest of the SEALs. They made me laugh and I enjoyed their comradery. Maybe I’m being too critical but just thought I would give a warning for anyone else who is thinking of reading this book that this may be annoying as all get out for them.

This is book two in The Trident Series and this is Potter and Tenley's story and what an amazing story it is. Tenley was in love with Potter but she had to push him away and that devastated her but she has to do it as she was in trouble but she couldn't task anyone to help her as they could send up dead and she will not put anyone that she loves through that but she doesn't know what to do so she goes away hoping that the situation will sort it's self out. Potter is so upset that Tenley has pushes him away and sent him a text to finish there relationship but when he sits across from her at a family meal he knows something is wrong but she will not talk to him so he will have to find out what the problem his himself. Omg I love this book and series so much with all it's twists and turns along with a strong connection and chemistry, loss, pain, danger, betrayal, sadness, hope, secrets, family and so many emotions that have you turning the page's to see what will happen next and it is so addictive. Jaime Lewis is an amazing author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading and you will not be disappointed. I Voluntarily Reviewed an ARC Copy of this book.
I love how this book easily flows from the last and both Potter and Tenley get time in the spotlight and how there is more than one twist and surprise within the pages. You laugh and cry and at times loath both Potter and Tenley for actions or inaction's they take towards each other and the situation she is in, the biggest thing is she is besties with Alex and a few of the others guys on the team etc so she knows these guys have big kahunas! I loved seeing all the gang again as well as seeing where things would go for Potter and I admit there may have been some wet eyes at points within the book and I am soooo looking forward to Frost's book next!!!!

This is the second book in this series and it flows basically straight on from where Ace book one ended Yes you probably could read it as a stand alone but it will be far better to read in order
Tenley and Rex started to connect in the previous book and things are going well between them That is until she suddenly drops him with no warning What no one knows is that her abusive ex is back on the scene and she is trying to protect them all (Doh they are navy seals) A mission soon brings to light what is going on and now Rex is all in to keep Tenley safe. Get ready for an action packed thrill ride that will have you turning the pages.
After a traumatic event with an ex, Tinley is forced to leave her new love behind a distance herself from her family. She's traumatized and pushing away from her new love and her family is only thing that will keep them safe. She has no idea that this problem she has with her ex has a much bigger scope than she ever realized. Potter, a Seal and abandoned love is determined to find out what would make his woman run. He makes mistakes with her, but he won't give up. Such a good read, danger and true love.

this is an emotional read and very immature of Tenley. I mean for crying out loud Rex is a Navy Seal for goodness sake, he can handle himself. Well at least the truth comes out, but in the waiting period Tenley put herself in even more danger. Her recklessness will get them all killed. Rex is patient and loving for such a alpha male. Their love is unconditional unless Tenley is to weak to believe in it. Action, Suspense, Betrayal and love. All wrapped up in about two and half hours.

This story has a lot going on. Tenley and Potter go through a lot of drama over the course of this book. There is action and suspense and kindness and caring. There are ups and downs. The backstories are fully developed and described. It keeps your interest and plays on your emotions. I like it i like Alex and Ace and Derek and Juliette and all of the team. I look forward to the next books in this series.

I loved this book about Potter and Tenley. Even though so much is setting the stage for the full impact of the book it was Bloody Awesome that 2 fantastic people got together even if it did take awhile!
For those who get caught up in punctuation mistakes etc blame the Editor Not the Writer!
I would Highly Recommend this book to Anyone and Everyone who loves Military Romance with a group of bad asses even if one is a pixie with curls, you will have to read the book to understand. Lol
Potter was at the Bay side, a popular bar and grill when he met Tenley, Alex's best friend. There was an instant click, and since she had been raised near SEALS, she knew the commitment. Then her ex started stalking and threatening her. And following through. The missions the guys are running lately all seem to be associated with drugs in South America. Then there are Tenley's new bruises and standoffish behavior, there is something strange going on. She gets kidnapped in Ecuador, that's a weird one.
Potter is the second book in the Trident series and although it can be read as a stand-alone, it is so much better reading the series in order. This SEAL team is family and friends and you get a deeper feeling for them by reading in order, but you will not be lost if you don't. Tenley and Potter are attracted to each other from the first time they meet, but then Tenley starts pulling away and Potter is confused by her actions. This book has a lot going on in it, suspense, mystery, action and romance. Loved it!!
After starting this series at the end (due to a recommendation) I bought and started reading the series from the beginning after reading Ace the first in the series, I was hooked, I bought and downloaded Potter the next in in series on Amazon for kindle and found that although the cover and blurb related to potter the inside was book 8 Diego - not sure how Amazon mixed the books but they have. Would love to read potter, but not sure how to without buying it again and hoping it’s the right book inside
Jaime Lewis delivered another great read in her second book in The Trident Series. Potter and Tenley's story is an emotional rollercoaster with a little mystery and suspense mixed in. I took a chance on this author with the first book "Ace" and I am so glad I did because I really enjoy all of the characters and cannot wait to read the rest! Looking forward to "Frost".

The second book in The Trident Series a well written story with a very good storyline. I was not putting this book down until I finished reading it. This is the first book in this series that I have read, as this is a new Author to me. Navy Seal Rex “Potter” Richardson and Tenley Cortez's story there is suspense, drama, danger, an evil ex, and romance. This is the second book in the Trident series and it is a great read! Potter and Tenley have a difficult road to happiness, this book has it all, great storyline, danger, suspense passion and love, and one particular scene with a gorgeous 7 year old, that had me laughing out loud! I'm really enjoying this series and Jaime Lewis is quickly becoming a favorite author, I can't wait to read the next book Frost!
Again, a good story line, but it seemed very shallow story line. It felt like a lot was going on with the ex, but it wasn’t very deeply explored. The heroine seems like a flake and if I had to read one more time that she was beautiful, I was gonna throw my kindle. Aside from that, there were again grammar and sentence structure issues that an editor should have fixed, but were not. We’ll see if I go to the next one in the series.
Potter is the second book in The Trident Series. Potter starts off were Ace stopped. Potter is our male lead and Tenley Cortez is the leading lady. Potter and Ten have been in a relationship when the stories starts but things will push them apart until danger is coming for her. Potter is a Navy SeaL, he senses Ten is hiding something and needs protection. This story is fast pace from beginning to end that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Happy Reading!!
Rex “Potter” Richardson and Tenley Cortez had the start of a wonderful relationship: instant attraction, off the charts chemistry, and enjoyment of each other’s company. Then someone from Tenley’s past refuses to stay there and threatens not only her, both those around her. Determined to protect those she loves, especially Potter, she distances herself, even though the losses are almost unbearable.
This is a great series to check out if you enjoy military action/romance stories. I'm really enjoying the character development. The are lots of spelling errors as well as missing or misplaced words. Having said that, I still believe most readers will enjoy both this book as well as this series, happy reading! Thank you Jaime Lewis for another great story!
This was a great book to curl up with it is the second book in the series but is the first one I have read but I will be checking out the rest of the series. I was sucked right into this book and could not wait to see what happened next I would definitely recommend it I did not want to stop reading.
Book two was just as good as book one. Potter and Tenley were as drawn to each other as Ace and Alex. It's good that the theme changed from the war in Afghanistan to the drug cartels of South America. Too often small countries are not beds for the drug trade. And no one ever gets out safely.
OMG Jamie...I just love them ok..Ace and Potter and now Frost..Girl your stories grab my heart..Thank you..so much.Im glad I found you.Always for more Authors that can grab me so fast..A great story, love it very much ..looking forward to the rest of the series...Anyone who reads this .Jamie is a wonderful writer.
Potter is not the womanising type but is knocked for a loop when he meets Tenley. I love the connection between Potter and his team and Tenley and Alex. It makes for one big family as they battle with Tenley’s ex and his machinations. Great book in an excellent series.
This is the second book by this author and the second in the Trident Series. The plot is is good, there are some holes but not too many, and you can see a bit growth in the writing, I’m pretty sure that each book is going to get better and better. I’m looking forward to reading the next one.
I would have rated this book as well as the previous one higher except for the author's inability to use pronouns correctly. The incorrect usage of the two verbs: to lay and to lie was unpleasant as well. These are easy enough to learn or get someone to do it for you. I was disappointed to have had to pay for them.
Not only an action packed romantic suspense but it’s so much more. The characters are wonderful with great depth. Lewis throws in several twists and turns and deals with real life issues like abandonment, forgiveness, abuse, and kidnapping right along with the friendship, love and loyalty.
Great storyline, lots of action mixed throughout. The heroine wasn't my favorite person with all her secrets and not telling what was going on with her. Potter and SEALs were always coming to her rescue. Some great twists in here as well, and I did enjoy reading this second in the series, but stand alone book.
A great plot line, interesting characters potentially even if the femal protagonist is tstl! This story requires major editing to fix sentence structure, idioms, clumsy phrasing etc. I finished it because it’s a good storyline but I understand why I never finished reading this series. It’s so painful to read.
3.5 Stars Who hasn't had a toxic ex that has done their best to ruin things for them? I enjoyed this book thanks to the characters. I look forward to seeing what the author brings us next.
