Overall I am enjoying how the story is progressing and more information is being brought from the step siblings past relationships which could potentially lead to something in their future. Yumi begins to see another side of Mizuto and of course shows her jealous side 😂. My only gripe and reason for the missing star is the start to most chapters. In quite a few chapters the author continues to reuse the same passage again and again which is not only repetitive but appears to be lazily written.

Continuing from V1 review. Surprised how much I enjoy this lighthearted HS romcom light novel series so far. I thought this V2 was decent, though not sure if I prefer this or V1. I think I like V1 a smidge more but already forgetting a bit of what happened since overall, there's not actually a ton development wise or big events with lasting repercussions.
The sleepover of the two over each respective friend's house and the two friends being neighbors was fine, though I don't care for scenes of the two friends much. I think I like V2's Higashira subplot more, as it gave a glimpse of how the FMC was like before dating MC and then the breakup. I also just like Higashira's light novel/otakuness and find it semi funny, plus there's not many ditzy female characters I enjoy. Her crush on MC was also fairly sweet actually imo - I like that the two bonded over shared books and that she was so shy to confess without the stepsister's help, ironically.
His rejection wasn't expected for me, but it's pretty clearcut the two ex's have feelings for each other, so I think I will continue to see how this further develops, but I also might drop this if nothing develops further despite both obviously having feelings and essentially knowing the others' feelings.
Other subplots...I find it a smidge hard to believe the MC is that smart, outdoing the FMC to become rank 1 even with his 10 point free handicap for her, and I didn't like when he dressed up handsomely just to interrogate her, but I think I did enjoy that novel overall.
But yeah, not as fun as V1 and not sure if I'll continue completely. The mother's day scene was cute, with the mother crying at the gift and also semi funny how she's lovey-dovey with the new husband.
Otherwise, I think there's still a lot of flashbacks to when the two were dating. Not sure how I feel. Some are okay and add to the scenes, but some other ones feel like filler or just inserted to have something to draw parallels to the modern times with and feel a smidge cheap.
Overall enjoyable. 2.5-3/5 or so. Will probably/possibly continue, not sure.

Mizuto Irido and Yume Irido are continuing to act as if they are just step-sister/step-brother rather than ex-girlfriend/boyfriend. But that idea is challenged when Mizuto meet up with Isana Higashira in the library in a similar fashion to when Mizuto and Yume first met. Will history repeat itself, only with a twist? Or will something else happen? Read and find out. And then stick around for the next volume.

Another volume full of family time and sexual tension but at least less flashbacks this time. Best girl, Higashira, makes her first appearance and Yume proves she is the absolute worst. The main characters need to get it together.
