"He never even beat me." - Bitch, that is the absolute rock bottom minimum for a relationship. You thinking that thought it proof enough that he's not mister right.
"He never even beat me." - Bitch, he drugged and raped you before, he dislocated your shoulder and you have a bloody nose because of him. In the next chapter, we'll throw a cup of water at you.
This comic is so long, I think it Stockholm syndromed me.
Peak toxic yaoi but not really in a way you want to turn your brain off to - more than once I had to take a break from the story because I couldn't believe what I was reading. Unfortunately, I absolutely love Gaet Saeng's art style and couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed the character design and panels a lot and will probably check out whatever they are publishing in the future, simply for the art. I can't really recommend the comic to anyone, even if you are looking for a toxic relationship with a happy ending, the business strategy (who has which shares, how can we redistribute them, how can we split the command to get more shares with decision rights etc.) may kill the mood. At other points, I was really confused about what happens - thinking I missed some panels or even a chapter. There is a point where the main characters have what seems like a break-up call. In the next chapter they are sitting together in the car, not on best terms but clearly not completely broken up. When the main character dislocates his shoulder, I for a moment thought he was shot or has phantom pains. The phantom pain thing happend twice (he does not have phantom pain, the story and it's visuals were simply unclear).
Somewhat unrelated rant: I am concerned for those readers who say there is no abuse (sexism or otherwise) in this story. How desensitized to interrelational violence have we become to not see the red flags in this story? Not saying that art has to be pure and that you cannot read toxic relationships for enjoyment, but actively telling people there is no violence in this story really shows a lack of reading ability.
The business stuff was very confusing😭 I think a lot was lost in translation so that might be on me for where I read it🦜
Their relationship was so toxic that I hated them both for a while, but they had a happy ending. A side story or epilogue of them finally happy and safe together would've been nice
