Duncan Hunter Thriller #6

Special Activities

Rate this book
"Expect Hewitt to gain notoriety as a political thriller author of technically detailed espionage similar to Tom Clancy." –Authors Reading

When Iran's leaders celebrate the creation of a bioweapon that could potentially annihilate the United States, the news sparks a race to acquire or stop the most lethal virus in the world.

CIA pilot Duncan Hunter has conducted "special activities" across three continents for twenty years; finding hostages and facilitating their rescue, finding and destroying drug labs and submersibles, killing drug crops with technology, and hunting down and eliminating the high-profile men who seek to become the next leader of international terrorism.

Iran has always been off limits.

When U.S. Navy SEALs rescue an American woman from an ISIS compound, analysts suggest the bride of a captured terrorist could have key information of a plan to spread a contagion via commercial airliners and international airports.

But the woman will not talk to just anyone.

The Agency's most secretive and successful black program is winding down. Does Duncan Hunter have anything left in his bag of tricks before he is booted out of the agency?

The Wages of Sin
This book is the sixth in a series that should be read in order. This series is historical fiction that mixes what was with what should have been. So far, the series has taken us from the beginning of modern Islamic terrorism to the more recent bioterrorism. All of these books have discussions of the philosophy behind the actions of all concerned that were minimal to the action portions of the book. This episode is different. It takes the reader on a philosophical tour that is more abundant than the action. I loved it! Others may not, but I enjoy the 'whys' of things. There is still great action with some strong solutions. This is just a warning that you may get something different than what you expect the story is still very exciting and it moves quickly! I am still loving the series and will start the next book later today.

Drue Duncan Hunter, former Marine officer, now a pilot in a CIA Black Ops Program, is on the hunt for the mastermind of an engineered bioterrorism virus. A long-ago casual encounter surfaces after 20 years and will become an unexpected ally in his pursuit. This a a non-stop thriller with an incredible amount of information for the enthusiast of this genre. This is my first book of the series and I do plan to go back and read the earlier Duncan Hunter books #1 – 5. Thanks to NetGalley and Black Rose Writing for providing me with an advance copy of this book. #SpecialActivities #NetGalley

Another stellar book in the series

Very nicely written, and filled in some information that was missing in earlier ones. The action sections really sang, and the ending left me wondering what comes next.

Duncan Hunter Series

Finally a writer that gets it. These are fascinating, complex stories that parallel real life. My hope is that Mark’s writing is an accurate prognostication of the future.

A political thriller that would make a good television series. One man assigned to save the world as we know it. Plenty of action and excitement. If you love Bourne, you'll love Duncan Hunter.

The sixth book in the series takes right off with the action, plot, technology, and exciting characters you’ve come to expect. Bioterrorism is at the center of the story and provides a great excuse to jump into the series and enjoy. I received an advanced digital copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review.
