As a newborn vampire, Luo ZhouZhou’s instincts are ingrained in his genes making him embark on a constant lifelong quest for a matching mate. His mate’s blood must be warm and sweet, with the scent of red caltrop fruit. However, after almost twenty years of searching without any luck, Luo ZhouZhou felt himself withering away until he traveled to an unknown time and space.
Getting accustomed to his new human life (not human, vam-pi-re!) is far from easy, but when he ends up at the office of the Bayard district’s police station, he finally finds the smell he has been searching for all this time.
Only a whiff and I know he’s the mate I’ve been looking for!
In a strange place with pheromones and secondary genders, the naive Luo ZhouZhou, who knows nothing about the workings of this ABO world, has to find the owner of that scent. And there’s also an omega killer on the loose!
What are omegas and alphas? Some kind of personal s*aves? If only this General Chu Feng would leave this vampire in peace so he can fulfill his lifelong quest, dammit!
I was originally quite wary of reading this book, since I don't usually enjoy the ABO dynamics. However, I didn't want to dive into a super long story so I took a chance on this shorter one and boy am I glad I did!
This still has elements of the ABO world, but with characters that are so well fleshed out and loving, I really didn't mind the secondary genders. I'm not just talking about the main couple (though their relationship is amazing, sweet, unconditional, considerate, and wholesome), but the awkward mentor, fellow research assistants, patients, and parents.
I particularly love the parental love in this book. I feel like some Chinese novels focus so much on how horrific parents can be, it was refreshing to see one that showed flawed parents in such a sympathetic light. You see throughout this book how the otherwise shrewd father really fumbles around in how best to care for and show his love to his son. I think that's what many people who hate their apparently distant or overly nagging or otherwise imperfect parents forget. At the end of the day, parents are not perfect; but most of them genuinely do care and love their children, even if they don't express it in words.
Other than the great characters and relationships, I found the slowly revealed mystery fascinating, and trying to piece together the tantalizing clues from the book made this an exciting read. I think it becomes apparent what is happening before the final reveal, but that doesn't make the resolution any less satisfying. In this slightly shorter format, the author doesn't really have much space for dithering or leading the reader on wild goose chases. My only gripe is that I would have loved learning more about some of the side characters in side stories (there are none).
The translation was spot on and really well done, though I got a bit annoyed by the commenters on the site. So what if Lou Zhouzhou was a bit naive and clueless? He was adorable! Not every potentially transmigrated character has to quickly adapt to their situation and immediately become OP. In fact, I thought LZ acted much more realistically than most novel characters in his similar situation. I usually enjoy reading other people's reactions on a chapter, but found myself unable to in this book, because they really pulled me out of the world the author was creating.
anyway, didnt expect the MC' situation at all. I was guessing he might be a transmigrator who came back just like Marked By A Tyrant After Transmigrating. However, woahhhh! Turns out it's the Wise Man's plan and he really is vampire! There's not much explanation what's happening to the wise man and past sunset face patient. But i assumed they went to another world which MC can access when he's asleep. But it's also said the chief/wise man's dead so idk. But not really a problem la, this novel still good, the progress is so nice and tbh even if there's plothole/flaws regarding their characters or the story, i did not mind much because me liking it is greater than the problems. I stay up just to read this so that's something.

Ah, e o melhor. NUNCA EXPLICARAM A COISA DO VAMPIRO. TÁ NO TÍTULO.
I remember starting this novel last year but it did not managed to capture my interest so I stopped after a few chapters.
This is a good twist to the 'transmigration' theme. You'll know when you read it.😁
This is an ABO world setup. What I like about this story is the mystery aspects on it. I was very interested on what really happened on the past resulting to all of the things happening in the present.
I love that our ML is part of the military because there are lots of action scenes and investigation involved that added depth on the story. I also love his backstory. And I like how he treats our MC.
Our MC is cute and naive. He believes that he's a vampire and have lots of habits that are weirdly cute.😊
It was a good story but I feel like there are a few more things that weren't explained in the end. Just minor things but it felt like the ending was rushed and the villains just ended up like that. But overall a cute, enjoyable and action-packed read.👍
I actually love ZhouZhou here. I find him funny. The story itself is interesting that I finished it in one go. The only reason it’s not 5 stars cause the ending feel a bit lacking.
What with the explanation of his vampire stuff. And suddenly he also has the power of healing? What about the wise man?
Overall, it’s enjoyable

Enjoyed this! Some suspense but not super angsty. A different take on a transmigration story. MC and ML are well matched; a balance of taking the lead and depending on the other.
If you are not into something so heavy, this is the level 3 of heaviness for you. Zhouzhou is a cutie. And I love seeing Chu Feng slowly being in love with ZhouZhou. Just a nice escape kind of novel for our reality. The plot twist is also nice.
Pretty solid little thing! I enjoyed it quite a bit though it got a bit slow in the middle and zhouzhou was little too op there at the end but I understand that he had said that vampires just were like that™. Overall, really sweet and I liked the action.

4.5 rated up This is great, honestly loved it. I loved how silly and cute it was, the way the main characters loved each other. Had me giggling and kicking my feet type of thing lol. I really liked how the author didn’t just focus on the romance and added a mystery plot to it. The relationship between the MC’s family members was so cute, and the generals friendships were cute too.
Rating: 4/5 - This was lovely! A fully action packed, fluffy surprise.
I liked both characters very much. The aloof, naive and sweet Zhou Zhou and the caring, respectful, human Chu Feng. He definitely is a spectacular ML and he treated Zhou Zhou like absolute treasure.
Overall the pacing was great with lovely side characters and an interesting plot. It was a typical action style story with bad guys, intrigue, secrets and betrayal but also a sweet couple and some weird transmigrating.
I would have liked to know more about the Patriarch and at least have Zhou Zhou meet him again to close that chapter of his life. If the book was extended by a few more chapters we could have better explored Zhou Zhou’s interactions with his friends and family as well which I would have liked.
Otherwise I highly recommend reading this unusual but very interesting story.
Mc- Vampire/omega/amnesia/lives 2 lives at the same time when he was young/his father tried to unblock it but resulted in him forgetting his time in this world/just remembered his time in the other world.
Ml- General/Alpha/was in an experiment so OP, like one time, but if he does it again he's gonna die/fated mate.
