I have wanted to read Ian's story for a long time! He's appeared in other books in this series and I liked him. I wanted his backstory and I liked reading what it was! He's a very wealthy man but over the course of the past few years, family has come to mean everything to him - more than money. When his helicopter crashes, he has amnesia and can't remember why he was in such a rush to get back to Colorado from Boston but it must have been important! He needs a bodyguard and Simone is hired to provide that. Suddenly, they are under attack and no matter where they go, the attacks follow! There is so much action in this story! Buckle up, you are in for a fast ride! The story will keep you guessing until the end! I liked Simone's character too. She was a great bodyguard but also caring. A wonderful story!
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Secret Sabotage. I'm a big fan of Terri's work and I'm always excited to receive one of her books in the mail. This one is no exception, it's awesome. The book is well-written, action-packed, and full of suspense. I know you are going to love it.
CEO of Delaney Holdings Ian Delaney wakes up in the hospital. Someone has sabotaged his helicopter and he crashed over a Colorado mountain. He has no idea who in fact he can't remember anything except sitting in his office. He finds a bodyguard in his room with him. She's a bossy woman and refuses to leave his side. Who wants him dead?
Bodyguard Simone Walker works for Trent Associates, a personal protection agency. Ian's brother has hired her to protect him. She's not impressed by Ian. CEO and rich men were all alike. She finds it hard to believe he lost his memory but she has no intention of letting him out of her sight. Failure isn't an option.
An exciting journey to find the answers to what really happened before whoever sabotaged the chopper finds them. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life
Terri Reed is one of my go-to authors. I see her name on the book cover and don't even read the synopsis, just drop it into my cart and read the book pretty much the minute it comes into the house. :-) And Secret Sabotage is the perfect example of why!
Great blend of action and suspense and relentless danger as well as the lure of romance. Happy sigh. And I love the bodyguard flip with Simone being the bodyguard to one very perplexed Ian. He has partial amnesia from a crash that makes it incredibly difficult to figure out just why someone is gunning for him and that added to the intrigue and sense of danger.
I know the amnesia trope is very popular but I think I overdosed on them the last few years so I always go into one of these reads with some trepidation. I'll even pass on a book sometimes if it's not written by a tried and true author. Still, when I do read this trope, I'm always astounded over how certain authors have the ability to make it seem fresh and new. Reed has brought some unique twists and emotional layers to this romantic suspense. Plus, she gobsmacked me in places! Love it when an author does that.
I should probably start and say I read this book as a joke, and I wish I could say I actually liked it but this book would be one star if it wasn’t so funny. It’s pretty much just car crash upon car crash with people chasing you THE ENTIRE BOOK. And also what the heck is the Irish rebels coming to get them ?!??!?? It was pretty funny though, so I give it an extra star. Also I pretty much got a headache from so much drama.
Yay! Finally, Ian’s story. It was nice to return to Colorado to meet up with old friends and catch up with them. I absolutely loved this series. Wonderful story.
What happened in the two week prior to Ian Delaney waking up in a Colorado hospital bed? Who is trying to kill him before he regains his memory of that time? And how can he be free to learn who his enemy is without bodyguard Simone Walker and her assistants getting in the way by keeping him safe? I discovered Terri Reed while reading Love Inspired Suspense's annual multi-author K-9 collections, and her contributions made me a fan (particularly "Seeking The Truth" and "Explosive Situation," respectively book 5 of True Blue K-9 Unit and book 4 of True Blue K-9 Unit Brooklyn).
"Secret Sabotage is the first non-K-9 story by Reed, and I absolutely loved it. The excitement and mystery starts on the first page and doesn't let up, and I loved the characters, especially Simone.
This book includes characters from a former story which I have not read. I didn't need to read that story to enjoy this story.
I absolutely loved this book. The suspense started right off with Ian’s helicopter crash, then his amnesia, and then someone trying to kill him. Simone Walker with Trent Associates was hired to be his bodyguard. That was very challenging because there was danger at every turn. Crashing in Bristle Township, then going back to Boston to try and jog his memory was dangerous. While in the office he was able to find out what the last thing he was working on, but all information was deleted from the servers and the file was missing. He had to get back and talk to his father, then his father got sick, so that didn’t help, and actually proved more dangerous. Who was the Dresden Group? How was someone trying to kill him and the Dresden Group connected? Please buy this book and read it, you will love it. I was provided a copy of this book for an honest review, and that review is, GREAT BOOK!
Secret Sabotage by Terri Reed is a fast paced, engaging story with a surprise around every corner. The suspense starts right on the first page and doesn’t stop until the end of the book. There’s always a twist that you don’t see coming so it keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s her 4th Love Inspired Suspense story based in Bristle Township, Colorado. Several characters from past books make appearances so it was nice to “see” them again.
If you like romantic suspense with elements of faith and family, you’ll enjoy this book. There are 3 other books in this series, but each can be read as a stand-alone story since every storyline focuses on a new primary character. Terri Reed is an author I can always count on for a quality story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.
This is the fourth book I have read with Bristol Township in Colorado as the setting. I'd have a hard time picking my favorite. I always enjoys Terri Reed's writing and look forward to new books.
As a body guard, Simone, has dealt with high powered men before. They are use to having their way and do not follow orders well which makes her job harder. Ian is no exception. I was almost to the end before I had any idea who was behind the attacks on Ian.
The women and men are always strong characters and moral, respectable if a little leery of love. Plenty of action to keep you alert though the whole story. I was gifted this book but never asked to give a review.
Exciting, fast paced story with strong characters and well described action - everything I like and always find in Terri Reed's books. Both Ian and Simone were characters in previous books set in Bristle Township, Colorado. I recommend Secret Sabotage as well as the other three books in the series - Buried Mountain Secrets, Secret Mountain Hideout, and Christmas Protection Detail. All of these books are hard to put down! I received a free book from the author without any obligation to review it. I ALSO received a copy from a friend who also thought it was excellent and knew I would enjoy it. She was right!
Ian woke up in the hospital bitten and bloody. He had no idea why or what happened. He could remember the reason he took off in the helicopter. It was said that someone was trying to kill him and it could happen again. The family hired a private detective from an agency to protect him . Reed 's family business suspense novel gives readers a ride into the high profit corporations who work against one another. A good mystery with love and suspense.
An easy to read story. The author too often repeated Simone's need to protect Ian. Good ending with all details cleared up. It's not a fantasy genre, but all the adventure is a bit far fetched. Still, it a fun, quick read. I appreciate the Christian and clean context.
Since Buried Mountain Secrets is my favorite book by this author, I'm always thrilled when I get to read more stories in this series. I'm a huge fan of the Delaney brothers and it's about time that Ian gets his Happily Ever After!
Terri Reed didn’t disappoint with this story of two strong willed people who learn to respect and to love each other while a killer plots to kill. Secret Sabotage was exciting from beginning to end. I enjoyed a very entertaining evening, Ms. Reed.
Secret Sabotage is a good book. This book wasn't preachy at all but I could tell you the message I learnt from it. Always pray to God in every situation. I admired the way Ian would quickly throw up a word of prayer. It's so good. I love this book.
Secret Sabotage is another great book by Terri Reed! Ian's story is such a great read I picked this up and it was a page turner! Didn't want to put it down! I gave it a 5 star because it is a great read! I was given a copy for an honest review and this is my own honest review If you haven't read you should You won't be disappointed!
