Shayla is a working college student that carries more parental responsibility for her siblings than she should have to. When she has the chance to go to Miami for spring break, she jumps at the chance not knowing just how much Miami will change her life. One of her friendships ends in Miami while a short lived love affair begins. No matter how short the time is that she spent with the sexy bossed up Kaisa, Shayla will hold onto the memories forever. He set the bar high and anyone that comes after him will have to come correct, and Champion did. Back in North Carolina Shayla becomes caught up with her sexy weed plug, and the rest is history. Until a blast from the past comes into town and shakes things all the way up. Fallon has been with her man for three years, and she loves him more than anything. When he becomes distant and distracted, Fallon isn't sure what to think. She doesn't want to believe that he's cheating, but all of the signs are there. It doesn't help that as soon as her man begins to act up, a sexy thug is applying pressure. A sexy thug that just so happens to be her man's enemy. No matter how much Fallon tries to find her way out of the drama, she is thrown into the midst of it and the aftermath will haunt her forever.
This was a bomb standalone! It really had the perfect mix of hood drama and relationship/dating drama. I love how she writes her female characters. They never seem like dumb broads. Their failures are relatable and realistic. I will be looking out the Fallon spin off!
I enjoyed this read. I thought Shayla was such a level headed responsible young lady. It wasn't her choice but she took on the responsibility of taking care of her siblings and mom. Shayla also was a great college student that wanted to make something of herself, she was well on her way. Shayla had two friends or one true friend one hater. She found out the girl true feelings and left her alone. Meeting Kaisa on spring break had Shayla in a world that she thought She would never have. Her spring fling was just that and she never thought they would cross paths again. Shayla had a friend that she did business with that friend turned into more for awhile she was fine with the arrangement until she found out he was a liar and cheat and her fling had come back into her life. Champion wasn't the guy Shayla thought he was, his main girl had begun to figure out he wasn't being truthful after she was his rock in all his situations. Fallon met Minnesota and kept running into him, was it something that was just supposed to be? Champion felt Minnesota and Kaisa had come on his turf, stolen his money and both his girls, had him not thinking clearly which ended up costing him much more than he thought. I can't wait to read the rest of Fallon's story. I know it gonna be hot. Good job😍
I was intrigued from beginning to end! I would say this is definitely one of my fave reads by this author. It's crazy how much money runs the world. Im glad when people show me who they are. Melonie wasn't ish for how she was acting with Shayla at spring break. With all the red flags in her face, I don't see how Shayla couldn't see Champion wasn't it. I feel like both she and Fallon were all pawns to him. Yes, he may have been with Fallon but if he couldn't fully commit, why string her along. I just knew once Kaisa got to NC and he came across Shayla it would spark things back up. I don't feel bad for Champion at all. All he did beating on women because he started a street beef and wasn't getting his way, he deserved those bullets. I'm low key mad at Minnesota too because how he gone let Fallon live after all that and don't check back on her. Even if it was only to make sure she hadn't talked. Now her pregnant and I have a feeling, it's Minnesota's baby. I know her story is coming. Im hoping Shayla and Kaisa gets one too 👀
Champion was a complete dick head he knew Shayla was native ass hell and he used that to his full advantage Shayla did right cutting Molonie hating as off Kaisa was the man but he didn’t have to take that weed and put Shayla in that position he knew Champion was a whole bitch made might Minnesota was the laid back cool cat Fallon had to get some of that sexy dick punk ass Championship was taken care of home and how the hell you tell your mate who you been in a relationship for three years you meet somebody and you love the side piece and expect that shit to be alright where they do that at can’t wait for the rest of Fallon juicy story hope Shayla and Kaisa show face phenomenal book
I love this book. I really did enjoy it. I love that Kaisa wasn’t playing about Shayla he let her know off the back that her friend wasn’t really her friend when they were in Miami. I didn’t want Shayla to get caught up with Champion because I knew that he wasn’t no good for her but she had to learn the hard way. I was hurt that he was playing her and Fallon and that he was wrong for that. I was laughing when Kaisa approached him and the mall and he was a punk I was even more pissed when he beat Shayla up but I loved how Kaisa and Marion got him in that club. I was mad that he shot at them and my girl Shayla getting hit in the face. But I’m glad that Kaisa and Marion killed champion though. I can’t wait to read Fallon story
I loved this book it was amazing enjoyed it from beginning to end. I like the way that Shayla didn't waste any time ending her friendship with Melonie because she was a true hater. Kaisa and Shayla relationship was meant to be even after a year they still had that spark. Champion was a hothead and very immature he got just what he was looking for. Fallon was a great person and a real woman after finding out about Shayla never once did she talk bad about her or blame her. I can't wait for her story and I'm hoping her and Minnesota end up together. You did an awesome job keep up the great work.
I loved this book—it was amazing from start to finish! Shayla did the right thing by ending her friendship with Melonie, who was clearly a hater. Kaisa and Shayla were meant to be—their chemistry was still strong even after a year apart.
Champion was a hothead and immature, and he got exactly what he deserved. Fallon was a real one. Even after learning about Shayla, she never spoke badly about her or blamed her. I really hope she gets her own story, and I’m rooting for her and Minnesota to end up together.
I loved the say Sharks looked out for her siblings. She goes on a trip to Miami Kaisa puts a stamp on her heart that no man can remove. Champion was a man who tried to live a double life but his greed and selfish mess got in the way. The drama in this standalone was real hopefully in Fallon story we get an update on kaisa and shayla. Hopefully Fallon tells Minnesota the possibility❤💗💔💟🙈🙈
As always I enjoyed this book everything Natisha writes is good. I love the characters and the drama. I also love how they fall for that one person who changes everything. I love the journey the characters go on in search for the life they want to live. Im definitely excited about the spin off that's coming. I know its gonna bring some damn good excitement.
With a name like Champion I expected him to come harder but he tucked his tail from beginning. Kaisa definitely was about that life and had no fear , both him and Shayla’s chemistry was undeniable from their first encounter but after losing touch life happens and she had to get with a replacement who was too selfish to put her first. Minnesota and Fallon definitely has a connection and I can’t wait to find out just how deep...
This book was very engaging, and well-written. A story of deception tossed with jealousy creating a spellbinding and intriguing storyline. Fallon and Shayla innocently got caught up in a web of deception with Champion which is not uncommon. But, it was great they did not channel their energy toward each other like most women do. The author was thorough in transitioning from one phase to the next without leaving gaps of unanswered questions. Great read.
Ooh man. I can't wait for this spin-off!! I hope everything works out for kaisa and shayla. Champion got what he deserved with his snitching behind. Just selfish for no reason. I swear Fallon slow. Why wld u go back to the house after Minnesota told u what champion did. She cld have lost her life. I can't wait for this spin-off to see who Fallon baby belonged to. Awesome job as always Natisha
This was a really good book. I can't believe she started selling weed like I just knew she would turn him down. I can't wait to find out how their doing and if Minnesota is Fallon baby daddy. Champion got what he deserves he broke the number one rule snitch on top of that he put his hands on Shayla
Aww man loved it . Kaisa was a true boss and I'm glad that Shayla met him she need someone like him in her life. Champion took advantage of Shayla being young and naive. Fallon how could you have not known how Champion was. Im glad Champion got what he deserved. I do hope that Fallon gives Minnesota a chance.
I really wasn't feeling this book. The connections just wasn't there with anyone. Minnesota and Fallon had the most connection out of all of them. Shayla and Fallon still being but hurt over Champion was crazy. He did all that and played both of them and still stick on dumb is a no go for me. The only reason it 3 stars is because of Kaisa and Minnesota.
I have to try me a Hatian man. I heard on more than one occasion they’re good men and take care of their women. I’m glad Shayla ended up with the right man and not the fuck boy. But I knew Fallon was going to end up pregnant and I bet its going to be Minnesota’s baby. He’ll probably see her out pregnant or after she has the baby and find out. I cant wait to find out
The ending took me out! This entire book was so good! The author has a way of pulling you in and making you root for the main character. Loved to see how she bosses up in the end. Can’t wait for the spin off
This book was good from beginning to end I can believe the way everything went down. Although shayla is with Kaisa I still don’t feel like their story is finished being told but I can’t wait for the spin-off
Now that ending has me stuck. I hope Fallon isn't pregnant by Champaign, she need to go ahead a run into Minnesota I know he really likes her. I need an update on Kaisa and Shayla as well.
Great story. Glad both women was on their grown woman business and not petty. Loved that once they knew that he cheated that they were done done!! Can’t wait till spin off
That ending!?!? Champion was a sucka and I don't deal back for him. He played him self. Kaisa and Minnesota was bae and I like Kaisa and Shayla together. I'm looking forward for Fallon spinoff.
Ughhhh slow is not the word for the beginning of this book and by the time it picks up I unfortunately had lost all interest. I am happy that Shayla got something like a happy ending but that's it. This just didn't do it for me.
Champion was a strait up lame. How could you be so jealous that you bring them boys into the picture? He got what he deserved. From the first page I KNEW he was a hater. I just can't get over it. Can't wait for the spinoff.
I really enjoyed this book, but it took me a little while to get into it. I liked the growth of the characters, especially Shaylah. That ending didn’t surprise me at all. I can’t wait to read Fallon’s story.
Nah how you end with news like that? Really! I enjoyed every bit of this story! I can honestly say I didn’t think Champion was going to be a loser like scar but he fooled me! K better treat my girl shayla more than good, he owes her that much! Ready for pt 2!
Baby from day one I didn’t care for Champion I could see a clown a mile away but those Haitian be a rare breed gotta love it. The author never disappoint with these bangers
I love it.. Im the beginning im so glad Shayla was able to know toxic friendships. But i loved how she was a college student with goals. She fell in love with an idea of financial security. But she ended up with a true boss at the end
Champion is a mark🙄 he didn't like the fact that two can play the games he was trying🤣 Kaisa😍 his description alone makes me love him. Melonie is a 🐍 and the worst kind of "friend" she is just a pass around😜
This book was really well written. It had just the right amount of drama and didn’t drag on. I love how Kaisa swept Shayla off her feet. I’m glad Champion got his, he was super foul. I can’t wait to see what happens with Fallon and Minnesota.
I liked this book so much that I couldn't put it down! Kaisa is that dude and I was hoping him and Shadow got it together. I like Fallon and can't wait to read more on her and Minnesota. I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it!
