This novel is about Siya, a university student who very much wants to be a successful writer. Her domineering father, who is paying for her education, expects her to major in a much more lucrative area, like medicine or engineering. To him, writing, even as a hobby, is totally unacceptable. Siya approaches her English teacher for help.
Lynsey is stuck in a marriage where "the thrill is gone," and is trying to start her own writing career. Inexplicably, Lynsey is drawn to Siya. What happens when a student-teacher romance is born? Can Siya and Lynsey have any sort of relationship, or is it doomed from the start?
This is a very good first book in a series. It is a short novel, about 100 pages. For anyone who is concerned, the "lesbian romance" part (do they consummate their relationship?) is very mild, almost non-existent. Yes, this book is worth reading.
