“We knew those holostories about Jedi Master Tal Bota were mostly made up. But it always seemed so exciting to be off on your own, fighting evil enemies, bringing justice to the galaxy! They don’t tell you, of course, that all being out there on your own really means, is that you’re alone.”

I don't know why, but these stories keep surprising me with how nice they are.

Yes, the whole point of The High Republic Adventures just changed a lot from, what I'm calling, the first arc of the story to this new one but not for that reason has it stopped being really interesting.

This issue was more unexpeceted and darker than I had thought it would be. I had a very solid idea of what it was gonna be doing but, well, I wasn't nearly as close as I had thought I was, and that was really nice. Yes, it was different than what I thought but I really like the way things are going.

One of my favorite little surprises was seeing some characters that I was not expecting to see again. At least, not so soon and not in this media. I love them, so it is really a good thing, and I don't think this little experience will make anything but making me love them even more.

I gotta say though, this volume feels like it's gonna be darker and more sinister than the previous one. Which really seems to fit perfectly with what the whole collection is doing right now.

Seeing what little things we are gonna learn through this series, though, is what has gotten me really excited.

“Welcome to the Hutt homeworld!”

This was definitely a nice build-up!

I don't know why Goodreads has this as a not already released issue but it is already out, and I am really glad about that.

After that happened in The Rising Storm and Race to Crashpoint Tower I cannot wait to check back in with these characters and see the other side of everything that has been going on. I will miss Lula and Zeen though.

I am excited!

This issue was so cute! I love that after Lula and Seen made it into a novel, we are getting more focus on Farzala and Qort as well. The Vessel crew being back is absolutely fantastic and they seemed very in-character. Geode and Qort's friendship is something I didn't know I needed but most definitely did. Can't wait to see where this little adventure goes!

The second story arc is about to begin for Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures and two previously relegated characters to the background of Lula Talisola and Zeen Mrala’s adventures are brought to the forefront.

(READ MORE: https://yourmoneygeek.com/review-star...)

The galaxy is preparing for the Republic Fair, blissfully unaware of the events about to unfold in Star Wars: The Rising Storm and Qort and Farzala are sent off on a secret mission for the Jedi. The mission takes them on board the Vessel alongside Leox Gyasi and his crew, bringing them back into the central story for the first time since their introduction in Star Wars: Into the Dark.

The crew heads to Bilbousa, Nal Hutta, the capital city on the homeworld of the Hutts, on a diplomatic mission, and, of course, Qort and Farzala’s mission wouldn’t be an adventure without the perils and pitfalls of one. While Farzala and Leox try to initiate peaceful negotiations with the Hutts, the Vessel is commandeered by pirates, leading the Hutts to think that they intend to sabotage the peace talks.

Chaos ensues as Farzala and Leox try to get away unharmed, all the while Qort, Affie, and Geode are trying to survive the hostile takeover of the Vessel. Unfortunately, the comic ends on quite the cliffhanger as Farzala is taken into custody, leaving readers with a grim panel of him in shackles.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures continues to be one of my favorite aspects of The High Republic. I am thrilled that we are finally getting to see more of Farzala’s story, and I am equally nervous about where this arc will take him.

One thing that I haven’t really seen mentioned is that The High Republic is rewriting many perceptions Star Wars fans have held about different species in the galaxy. For example, before the new era stories, Zygerrian has been seen as cruel slavers — as recently as the fifth episode of The Bad Batch. The same could be said about Trandoshans, who have frequently been depicted poorly in Star Wars, but The High Republic gifted us with one of the best Master-Padawan relationships between Sskeer and Keeve Trennis.

Star Wars is at its best when it’s making us reassess our preconceived notions, but one thing remains the same — the Hutts are the worst, even when they’re helping the Republic.

I haven't left a review for this comic series since the 3rd edition, that's because mostly everything that happened from #4 through 6# felt more like filler. And filler can be a good thing, but it's a good thing that you could mostly skip over and not miss out on anything.

So here we are on #6 and this was is easily one of the best of the series thus far. Older gets a chance to shine the spotlight on two of his characters who have been mostly on the sidelines, but since Lula and Zeem get to be featured in the Middle-Grade High Republic Novel, Race to Crashpoint Tower it only makes sense to shift the focus of the story from those two and move on to Farzala and Qort.

This comic does a lot, bringing in characters and events from other High Republic era works and it does an excellent job keeping all these characters in top form and keeping their personalities intact.

There's a revelation about a character I didn't even realize until it was pointed out and now I can't unsee it! That's all I will say about that.

It was well done in a way that it briefly weaves in the Jedi/Sith conflict that happened hundreds of years before the High Republic era without info-dumping it. Cavan Scott's High Republic graphic novel series also touches on the ancient Sith Lords, so it'll be interesting to finally see the Sith in this era because I have a feeling it's only a matter of time until one of them shows up.

It had the same solid artwork from the previous arc, and Daniel Jose Older's writing remains solid, but the decision to send Lula Talisola and Zeen to Jose Older's own novel Race to Crashpoint Tower is already having an effect- the absence of those two characters, the heart of the previous arc (Zeen in particular) can really be felt.

Oh well. At least fans of Into the Dark will have a good time seeing the return of quirky characters that first appeared in that book.

The action’s a little confusing, but at least the heroic Geode always knows exactly where he needs to be.

”But it always seemed so exciting, to be off on your own, fighting evil enemies… Bringing justice to the galaxy! They don’t tell you, of course… That all being out there on your own really means… Is that you’re alone.”

The High Republic Adventures comic begins its second! While the galaxy is focused on the Republic Fair, Qort and Farzala join an elderly jedi master on a mission to the Hutt homeworld, in hopes of negotiating peace between the Republic and the Hutts. They are accompanied by the crew of the Vessel: Leox, Affie and Geode (they were introduced in the novel Into the Dark). Naturally, nothing goes according to plan and chaos and shenanigans ensue!

This comic continues to be a joy to read. The art style is wonderful, the stories are funny and silly while also exploring important themes such as being forced to grow up, go out of your comfort zone and brave the world alone for the first time as a child/teen.

I enjoyed getting to spend more time with Farzala and Qort - so far they've been mainly side characters as the story has focused on Lula, Zeen and Krix. It's gonna be fun to get to know them better. And of course, having Leox, Affie and, above all, Geode back is amazing - they are such a fun, weird trio and I love them. Geode especially works super well in comic-format, because him appearing here and there randomly is even more hilarious when you see him.

Once again, the comic ended in a way that makes me just desperate to get the next issue. I can't wait to see how Farzala and Qort's little adventure will develop!

I feel the HR Adventures are definitely aimed at a younger crowd than the Marvel HR Comic but this issue felt a little more mature. My main issue with this series so far has been the artwork, I just find there's too much going on each page but this issue seems to have toned back in that respect. I'm absolutely thrilled to see the crew of the Vessel back after "Into the Dark" and it's good to get some focus on Farzala, plus Qort and Geode ❤️ I'm always interested in anything to do with the Hutts and Criminal Underworld.

A Jedi rock? Really? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone when I read other reviews on this series. Worst Star Wars story ever.

I'm continuously impressed with how this doesn't feel as childish as the normal Adventures line sometimes is.
