Christine Daniels is the heiress to the largest oil company in the world, Green Oil Industries. From the outside, most envy her and would kill to have her life; that is where the problem lies. Christine is a survivor of a kidnapping, and she escaped with a lot of mental baggage. She thought she was settling into a new normal when her kidnappers resurfaced, refusing to disappear into the background.

In walks Jake Wells, ex-soldier and ex-boyfriend. His employment as the ski instructor at the lodge Christine’s family vacations at puts him in the right place at the right time to help her cope with not only the threat of the kidnappers returning, but her mental trauma.

Jake has his own baggage from his time in the military, and he feels confident he can help Christine. He also wants a second chance to win over her damaged heart. Will Jake be able to keep Christine alive with the help of his best friends and Army brothers, or will they all get caught in the crossfire of a different type of battle?

Jake and Christine has been together in high school but now after both had experienced traumatic things they met again. With danger, intrigue, deception, and love, Jake and Christine were faced with a mystery to solve before all was lost in this interesting and exciting story.

This storyline captured my attention and kept me motivated to finish the book. The mystery of who was behind the kidnapping and threatening deliveries was compelling.

The relationship between Jake and Christine was intense. Their traumatic pasts were something that bonded them in their determination to overcome the trauma.

The writing style is more narrative than active which isn’t my favorite, but the storyline was strong and kept me interested. Jake’s brothers in arms, the remaining Sexy Seven Heroes are definitely sexy and each interesting characters that I will be interested in reading their stories.

This story will have you turning the pages as you try to work out who the baddie is, right til the end. The story is written well, is full of developed characters, holds your interest and allows you to connect with Jake and Christine as well as Jake's 'brothers'. This story takes you on quite a journey and is a good read.

I was trying to guess who the culprit was until the very end of the book and it was quite an adventure! With plenty of hot romance between Christine and Jake, and the ever present tension of her mystery kidnapper, it was a book that was very difficult to put down

Strange title

Decent plot with unusual twists but the dialog was often awkward and the events were weird, especially those with her parents. The ending was rushed with sections and info inserted out of the blue.

First time reading a book by this author and was not disappointed. Though the story went well, kept me interested and the characters did not disappoint. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
