In terms of children's writing, this book hit all of the marks for me. The light themes (friendship; animal loving) in this story only strengthened the clear plot and made for a very refreshing read. Another thing I loved was the perspective on a child's life. Nothing mentioned in this book would be unrealistic for someone to face at that age, which made this a very humorous story. Though I wouldn't be the target audience for this book, I could definitely read it to any child I know and be assured that they would enjoy it. Great job to the author!
