Demon Pack #1

Demon Pack

Rate this book
I’m no stranger to the dark. The shadows belong to me. But the dark can’t hide me forever...

I run with my own pack—my four demon wolves and the two friends I would kill to protect.

We might be the rejected shifters of the Vegas supernaturals, different and unwanted, but our pack is strong. Feared. Think of us as your local supernatural vigilantes.

With my demon wolves secretly watching our backs, we’re unstoppable. Until the night the first rune appears on the streets. A rune that hasn’t been seen for hundreds of years, sending the Vegas supernaturals into a tailspin.

It seems that the Master of Demon Runes has returned, a demon with unlimited power to deceive and kill, dragged up from the depths of the underworld itself.

What he wants, no one knows.

Except maybe… me.

Because there’s a teeny tiny chance that my demon wolves used to be his. And an even larger chance he won’t return to the underworld without them…

Or without me.

Demon Pack is a full length (90k words), dark and sexy paranormal romance, the first in the Demon Pack series. This series is NOT RH. It’s recommended for 18+ due to language, mature themes, and sexual situations. Ends on a cliffhanger.

Demon Wolves

Nova is special.

Like the most special snowflake to ever exist. She’s got violet hair (naturally ofc) is a shifter AND an alpha AND has super shadow abilities that allow her to feed on people’s emotions/unleash a “darkness” attack AND she has super special magic rune tattoos that give her a super special armor suit that hides her identity.

But most of all, she’s got command of four
✨Demon Wolves✨.

How do we know?

Oh, she tells us.

130 times.

No, literally. I counted.

She mentions the “demon wolves” (seriously, that’s the most creative name you can come up with?) one hundred. And thirty. Times.

So why so much focus on the demon wolves? Are they shifters? No. Do they talk or communicate words telepathically at all? No. Are they sentient? Eh, they can understand her commands much like a really smart dog but they don’t seem capable of higher thought.

Literally, they’re just spectral domesticated wolves, pretty much the equivalent of hunting hounds, with super unique special 💜Purple eyes💜 like her in her wolfy form. 🙄

And no one can see them unless they want to be seen. Which seems to happen an awful lot during fights, which is the dumbest time for them to make themselves visible. They have all the advantage in a fight when they can’t be seen but they choose to make themselves seen when fighting? Seriously make it make sense.

🙄

There’s a lot of “striding”. That’s mentioned 50 times. We don’t simple walk in this book. Walking is too ordinary. No, we ✨stride✨. 😎

She also turns/spins on her heel quite a bit. Four times to be exact. Because turning around like a normal person is way too basic. Duh.

Anywho, Nova is also the alpha of her two besties who are also ❄️super special❄️. One is a half wolf half harpy hybrid the other a half wolf half witch hybrid.

Nova’s mom is a chronically ill 1950’s husbandless housewife and pretty much only exists to be their maid and chef. They “protect” her from pesky things like the truth because she’s weak AF and can’t handle anything. So clearly, she didn’t get her bada** alpha wolf woman side from her mother. Bummer. I was hoping to see a bada** female role model, but no.

Oh! And Nova’s father’s identity is a mystery but it’s obvious he’s some kind big bad, a major underworld villain from the obvious not at all subtle hints in the beginning. Likely Hades or the devil or something.

We’ve seen the “my dad is the big bad” trope a million times since Kate Daniels but no one has been able to pull it off quite the same.

Nova meets a motorcycle bad boy with blond hair and green eyes with a muscular Greek God physique, naturally. Of course he’s mysterious and warns her of impending danger which she ruefully ignores as all the wisest alphas tend to do.

So the three besties and the four dogs (essentially) end up going against an “elite” demon that is way powerful and essentially kicks their a**.

Uh oh.

So naturally one of them asks the question, “Why don’t we carry guns?”

The answer?

“We’re scary enough without them.”

🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

I can’t. I just can’t.

DNF at 25%

Oh dude I forgot that I didn’t update my review here 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Goodreads needs a schedule button so I don’t forget these things lol. Anywho, here is my review.

Holy dang demon babies! Everly and Jaymin have done it again...and honestly, at this point, I shouldn't be surprised any longer, but you know what?...I love how they can keep doing this to me, after all this time of me reading their books. I just, really, thoroughly enjoyed this unique and utterly intriguing story that's being woven right in front of me. So girls, just keep doing what you're doing because I'm here for all the crazy and wonderful worlds your brains can create. So just keep doing what you do best. And don't change a thing. 💖😍

Eeeek, I'm so excited to have had the opportunity to read this book before its release, in place for an honest review. Most of you all know, that I've been on Everly and Jaymin's ARC team for awhile now...and have been a huge fan of their work, since, well, forever...and there's a reason why I'm obsessed with their books. I'm sure if you've read anything from them, you'll understand this but if you haven't, quick, go get lost in some of their amazing books! They have plenty of options for you to pick from. But today, I'm not here to talk about what they've already released...coz that's old news for me lol 😆🤷🏻‍♀️...I'm here to talk about Demon Pack and the awesomeness that it is. But first, you can find it HERE ---> Demon Pack....be sure that you one-click this book baby, so you are ready for its release on the 31st of October. Only have like 3 more weeks of waiting to do lol.

Oh gosh, what can I say about this book?! Well, for starters it's an ahh-mazing kick-off to this brand new series. Secondly, I loved the characters and the sense of such strong family and pack bonds...even with the girls having been rejected/shunned by the whole paranormal communities for being hybrid and different (rude, I know 🙄...ugh, why is everyone always scared of different?). But because of their differences, they are stronger for it and are actually some of the only ones willing (and I'm totally going to say it, not cowardly, unlike others!) to go out there and kick some major butt, keeping humans and paranormals alike, safe on the streets. The main girls will, honestly, touch your hearts so deeply. Their bond is so authentic and it's just like you can feel that rising up and out from the pages. You are going to love Nova, Taniya, Malia and her four demon wolves (that are a secret to anyone outside of her pack - so shh don't tell anyone)!

There are no other better vigilantes you want working on the streets to keep the scum at bay. They are an unstoppable force. But when out on one of their missions, they come across some very unexpected things. Things that are about to spin the supernatural world on its axis and cause some panic. You see, one of those unexpected things happened to be a Rune, one that appeared all around on the Vegas streets. A rune that hasn't been seen for hundreds of years. And with that comes this extremely powerful elite demon, who has C-R-A-Z-Y power...and when I say crazy I mean like, be ready to be put in a coma of nightmares kind of thing - well, not you personally but you never know haha.

But with this demon, the Master of Runes and tricks on the loose, chaos is raining on the supernaturals...and of course, only a very few are willing to actually step up and try and stop this demon. The thing is, none of the supernaturals know what this Elite demon is truly after...well, Nova and her pack might. But they are keeping that information close to their chest...Because that information includes her secret demon wolves. Ones that might just belong to Rune...and if Nova is right, he might just not leave earth until he gets them and...her.

But as you guys all know, I love to shout my victories out haha so I'll just say...

And secondly, nah...I don't really have a second point lol 😂...calling it is more than enough 😆😉.

Oh man, I missed introducing Roman! I know, I know!

Oh heck-de-heck, where do I start with him? He a whole can of worms I'm not sure I'm willing to open lol but...you never can say I run away from a can of worms.... (well, in the metaphorical sense...coz if it was a legit can...I wouldn't step foot near it...noppers!)...but moving on. I'm diving into it. Roman, Roman. He's a man of mystery. A mystery Nova is determined to try and unravel. The night Nova and her pack went on her mission, the one before the runes started appearing...she ran into our mister. And from first sight, she felt this indescribable pull towards this bronzed god being. But there was also something about him that screamed predator and danger...and so, she was determined to ignore the pull, in place of keeping her pack safe from this uncharted, potential threat. But, slowly, he somehow might begin tearing down those barriers she always had up in place, protecting her. But that's as far as I'm willing to go with sharing. Not even I can have the strength of holding back, from speaking things that could be classed as spoilers lol. So shutting up, I will.

All I will leave you is this one sneak peek...don't say I don't help a book dragon out lol.

“You are entirely unforgettable, Nova Madden.” His voice is a low rumble again. “No matter how much you try to hide yourself from me, I see every f***ing inch of who you are. And I would never leave you behind.”

With the looming darkness ahead, it's up to Nova, her pack and new allies to work together and remove the darkness growing in Vegas. But I honestly, can't say it any better than Nova herself.

We might be going up against the toughest demon, but we’ve earned our strength as a pack, and I refuse to allow that to end anytime soon.

Alrighty, a huge thank you to the amazing, lovely ladies, Everly and Jaymin, for a new series I can be totally crazy and captivated by. I love you ladies! You never disappoint. I seriously, can not wait until I can know more. Like dang I need more. Thank the stars, this series is going to be a quick-release because...answers...I need answers and I gots to be in the know. Ugh. I hates waiting. Especially when it drops it on that 'gah I need to know more' note.

Anyways, moving away from my own suffering...What are you most excited about with this new upcoming series? Also, again don't forget you can preorder right now to be sure you get it right away! This isn't a series you want to miss! If you love dark, paranormal romance, urban fantasy reads...this book will be right up your alley.

Thanks again ladies, for continuing to have my crazy pants on your ARC teams. Love being a part of each of your book journeys...and making sure as many people can find your awesome-saucy with extra sauce books. 💖

Okay, my rambles done with now. You can all be thankful that the crazy person has stopped talking lol. What's that saying? It ain't over until the crazy chick stops rambling?... Oh, wait, no, that's the fat woman sings. my bad lol...carry on. 😆

**Please note that this is a new adult 18+ read and does contain mature content, swearing and sexy times**

Catch ya lates. Peace out!

Dnf@42%. As much as I tried to get into this, I couldn't help myself for being completely bored. There is action right away, and Nova and her pack are a cool concept. But the book wasn't engaging? It just dragged on in a really uninteresting way. Nova herself is a complicated character, who feels like a contradiction to herself. While I get a glimpse she is a serious bada$$, who is in control of herself, her pack, and a 100% an alpha. I found her also rash and quick to jumping into the fire without thinking things through. Her shivering at the mention of the demon and his nightmares is odd, because we get this ( her not being afraid) yet she's shivering every few pages. You can't have both here! Her attacking Roman for the knowledge about her demon wolfs was childish and completely ridiculous. Again, you have a women who most of the time, is cunning, calculated, and smart. Then she just goes totally off script of her own personality? This is a real big pet pev of mine. Writing a character a certain way, then having Said character act a totally different way to what you've been writing or trying to perceive.

Ok, to be honest, I was surprised that this book succeded in being so stealthy with the revelation of the love interest`s identity. So, kudos to that!

Even though I made the right guess from the first, they succeeded in gaslighting me into second-guessing myself.

Is this book a bit corny? Yes, that it is! But it is only normal for this genre. It succeeds to rise a bit higher than the general works of this type.

I read it too far ago to remember what was going on exactly, but I can say that I read it fast and it was quite enjoyable. Of course, you have to skim through the parts where it can seem a bit too mushy-mushy, but I think it balances itself out quite well with the entire plot.

This is not a reverse harem (I had needed this detail because for sure it had sounded to be like one when I had first read the description).

This book is about Nova (half wearwolf, half demon) and her chosen sisters as well as the demon dogs... he'll hounds? On an adventure to stop a demon from raising hell on Earth. The bonds Nova formed and forms are tight and fun. The storyline was entertaining, if not predictable. I saw how a lot of things would happen from a mile away. That did not stop me from liking the book. The end, however, sets up the second book with a trope I am not at all currently in to. I will definitely read the second book, but it will have to be when I am in the mood for a: to the death, winner takes all competition.

This was surprising. Quite well done Ms. Eve and Ms. Frost.
I find myself intrigued and wanting to read the next book.
4* because there were parts that made me want to throttle all the characters but nevertheless I loved them.
But all in all, great read.

When two of your all-time favourite authors decide to co-write a book you can guarantee it will be epic. Jaymin and Everly have created a world that draws you in and keeps you spellbound before they pull the rug out from under you and leave you hanging for the next book.Nova is a demon-wolf hybrid and along with the other hybrid wolves and 4 demon hounds has formed her own pack. They work behind the scenes keeping humans safe from the lesser demons who prey on them. When a higher level demon threatens their survival they must join forces with Roman to try and force the demon back to the underworld where he belongs. What transpires is a book that will keep you enthralled from the very first page to the last word and have you wishing that the second book in this series was already released.

I love Jaymin Eve and Everly Frost, and they did an awesome job together on the Storm Princess Saga: The Complete Series, so I had to read this straight away.
Nova is a hybrid, and she's created her own pack with some other shunned half breeds who go around dealing out vigilante style justice. When a big bad shows up, they're going to get involved. So expect lots of fighting and kicking butt.
There's a few inconsistencies here and there, and it's missing the usually humor I expected. But there's still lots of twists to keep you guessing. From the lead up, the next book promises to be just as good.

Sweet petunias this book was absolutely incredible. I was captivated the entire time I absolutely loved the concept, the characters were all phenomenal with wonderful growth. I literally have nothing bad to say I was just so into this book the entire time, when I wasn’t reading it I was thinking about it! You know that’s a sign of a stellar read!

Romance, action, bit of steam that I can confirm continues on and gets SUPER FREAKIN GOOD in the next book, addictive writing, total emotional investment, shifter - sounds like you’re vibe? Highly recommended 🥹

DNF@72% - writing was week, characters were underdeveloped and stereotypical, main girl was a Mary Sue, main guy was protective and obsessing with the main girl from first meeting and without any apparent reason, Nova’s relationship with her family was unrealistic (who hugs her sisters in the morning just because they haven’t seen each other for a few hours due to sleeping?).

Everything felt fake and shallow.

A Suspenseful & Tension Fuelled Read!👿🐺💥✨
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Demon Pack (Demon Pack #1)

This was a book which kept me hanging. It frustrated but gripped me, the truths I wanted to know were so obscured and weren't paid off until right at the end!😳 Annoyingly genius. Lol

Nova and her sisters are all shifter hybrids, their packs have rejected them because of their differences but Nova's Mum took Malia & Taniya in when they were young!💖 They're completed by Nova's four demon wolves that have been with her once birth. They've formed their own pack. Together the three of them & the wolves take on injustice at night in Las Vegas. It's usually got low level demons behind it.😡 They keep their vigilantism from their Mum.😍

An elite demon crosses their path & incapacitates them all far too easily!😳 Help is offered by an ancient pure blooded shifter, whos line was thought to be extinct. Roman has extensive knowledge that could help send the elite demon back to Hell. He's shrouded in secrets but Nova & Roman keep getting pulled together, even when they're fighting it!🔥

This has some wonderful character's and the world building is amazing. I can't wait to see that expanded in book #2!🙏🌟

So, its become obvious that Jaymin Eve is fast becoming one of my fav authors. I first discovered her writing in her Shadow Beast series. I saw that there is a part two coming in December, but I couldn't stop myself from starting this.

Nova is kick ass. She is the alpha of her pack, which consists of two outcast shifter hybrids (like herself) and 4 invisible wolves. The other two hybrids are sisters to her, Malia and Taniya. Together they all form a vigilante-like group that patrols the Vegas areas keeping out of line supernaturals in line. Unfortunately, on a routine operation they discover that the King of Demons has disappeared from the Underworld and as a result a high-level demon is running amok in their area. That combined with a mysterious stranger that tries to warn Nova and her pack away and the story begins.

Action, secrets, intrigue, specieism, sexual tension, family. I loved every part of this book. I'm just sad that I have to wait until December for part two.

Oh my, if you love even on of these authors you are going to be completely blown away by this book. It is completely different and amazing. You will not be able to stop reading once you start. The twists and turns that the story takes you on will keep you on the edge of your seat. And just when you think you have everything figured out.... they throw something in that completely blows your mind. I can't wait to see what these two ladies come up with. I am so happy they got together for this book and series

Urban fantasy done right! This is such a gripping series starter. A compelling and nuanced heroine, the found family dynamic, just the right amount of supernatural architecture, and a fantastic storyline. But the chemistry- that is what kept the pages turning. The push-pull, the undeniable attraction, the unanswered questions and unclear motives. What a compelling beginning!

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

I was so ecstatic when two of my favorite authors joined forces once again to write a book! This was everything I thought it would be and more! Wolves and Demons ... who thought this is what I needed! This book is filled with action from beginning to end! I absolutely love Nova and her men! She is one of my favorite female leads in a while. Roman is sexy as hell and I cannot wait to see more of him in the next book!

I seriously need book two like now! I don't want to wait!

I just couldn't connect with the characters in this one. It annoyed me how unrealistically balanced the MC's two friends/sisters were. It was all too neatly equal. I'm also a bit tired of the "we're bad-asses who fight crime" thrope in UF. It wasn't terrible, but I just knew my opinion wouldn't go above 3 stars (like another of Jaymin Eve's series I've read), so I decided to read something else.

Book: Demon Pack
Read By: Ebook
Author: Jaymin Eve and Everly Frost
Genre: Paranormal Fantasy Romance
Recommend: Yes
< b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years
My feelings:

I was genuinely taken aback by the skillful way in which this book slowly unraveled the identity of the love interest. My hats off to the author for that! Despite having a strong suspicion from the beginning, the story managed to gaslight me and cast doubt on my instincts.

“You are entirely unforgettable, Nova Madden.” His voice is a low rumble again. “No matter how much you try to hide yourself from me, I see every fucking inch of who you are. And I would never leave you behind.”

Is this book a bit cheesy? Undoubtedly. But then again, that's par for the course in this genre. What sets it apart is its ability to rise above the typical tropes and clichés. It's been quite some time since I read it, so the details may be a bit hazy, but I do recall devouring it eagerly and thoroughly enjoying every moment.

“You are the Demon King’s youngest child,” she says, her speech sharpening. “You are an abomination of power that should never have existed. Yet you must contend for the right to reign, for the rules are clear and power must prevail. But do not fret, child, for your life will be over soon.”

Of course, there were a few overly sentimental parts that didn't quite mesh with my taste, but overall they added depth to the main plotline. And just to clarify, for those wondering (like I was), this is not a reverse harem novel, as implied by the description

I absolutely love this book. Once again Jaymin and Everly have wrote a awesome book. I didn’t want to put it down. Nova is a wolf-demon and she is alpha to her pack of outcasts who are basically hybrids. Roman is another main character and I love the chemistry between these two. The four demon wolves are really cool too. I don’t want to give away any plots but there is a lot of action and a few twists in the end. Loved it! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Ok yes it’s true it’s started off kind of slow. But damn that ended with a woah! It’s a slow s low burn so don’t come at it with unrealistic expectations then blame the book. The story is there and I’m 100% invested now! Just remember trust the process and know that JAYMIN Never disappoints!

Amazing

This was just actually so good. And the main character Nova is absolutely amazing. She constantly grows throughout the books and is a strong female role model. Her relationships with her sisters are fantastic and she's not stupidly ignoring her strengths and experiences.
