Now, it doesn't matter how far I pull away. To protect my swan and save her from the darkness inside me. It doesn't matter how hard I push her away, because everything comes back to that
One moment. One kiss. One smile.
The more I resist, the greater my need for her becomes. It's impossible to let her go and reckless to keep her when the world around us threatens her every heart beat. I watch her from the shadows and guard her from afar. There is nothing I won’t do to keep her alive. No line I won’t cross or blood I won’t spill. Because I’m not a monster, I’m the Devil that will destroy your soul if you go near mine.
I am a moth enthralled by her flame.
Leaving only one certainty in this war—Georgina is my destruction and my end.

This is the 5th and final book in the Virtues & Lies series.
Alexandra Silva is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Contemporary Romance and Romantic Suspense. Her stories are raw, heartfelt, and sexy. With flawed, dirty talking and sexy as hell heroes, and feisty heroines that give them a run for their money.
Alex is a tequila loving book hoarder. She lives in London with her boys and man, as well as their three cats.
Salted Caramel Coconut lattes are a real weakness, along with dark, taboo romance and angst heavy new adult reads.
She blames the classics and a nutty English teacher for her obsession with books and fiction. Come rain or shine with either coffee or wine in hand, you can find her with her nose stuck in a book and her head in the clouds.
With Flame Alexandra Silva ends the Virtues and Lies on a high. This is the sequel to Smoke and I couldn’t be happier with Georgina and Freddie’s story. The journey Silva takes them on was nothing more than spectacular. When the author revealed that their story would be two books I was a little skeptical but now after finishing I totally understand. It was necessary. Both characters have so many layers, so much evolving to do and in Flame they both shed them all and revealed their worth. It was flawlessly executed.
Freddie aka Frederick Emsworth. My favorite hero of the series. I like my man rough around the edges. Dark and flawed. He encompasses it all. His story is revealed in Flame and I fell even harder. Drool and swoon worthy. His love for Georgina. Amazing! And her. What a growth she shows throughout Flame. Kickass and never gives up. She’s all in for her man and I was there cheering her on. Such a badass heroine. These two like it was in Smoke set my iPad on fire. It felt like it. Their connection and chemistry was intense and intoxicating. I seriously couldn’t get enough. My cat nip is dirty talk and trust me Freddie delivers. Big time. Wowza indeed!
What can I say except Silva delivers with Flame and Smoke. My favorites of the series. She saved the best for last and that’s a pretty damn good way to end a series. A standing ovation is definitely in order!
This series has been one hell of a journey. I’ve dragged my heels with reading this last book. I just didn’t want it to end. But what better way to end it! I think the author definitely saved the best for last. Loved Freddie and Georgina’s story. It finished the series perfectly.
There are so many things that I want to say about this book, but I'm just wow! Again the way Silva build the story is just mesmerizing.
This is the conclusion to Georgina and Freddie's story and starts right where it ends in smoke.
So please, guys grab the biggest tissue box that you can find cause you'll gonna needed, a cup of tea, a blanket, and just start the book.
This is so far one of the best books I read this year a 10 out of 10 stars.
I just wanna thanks Alexandra Silva for writing such a remarkable story, for making me cry like a baby, laugh like a lunatic, and for helping me escape from reality for a couple of hours, this book was everything.
Well that's it series done. Talk about being bittersweet. What a journey it's been. I'm sitting here actually unsure what to say for once. Anyone who knows me knows that's unusual. This may of been the final book, but that didn't mean that there was any less action than the others, so much so that the conclusion to all the drama that's spanned many books seemed almost anticlimactic. Didn't stop the book being any less amazing though, definitely mind blown by everything and desperate for spin offs so that we might get more of the nitty gritty that way. Or is that just me being nostalgic and not wanting to let go of a series that I've obsessed over the past few years. All characters were amazing yet again in this book. Be prepared to be sent on a rollercoaster of emotions with no safety bar. Leaving my review here so you can enjoy the journey that this goodbye book sends you on.
This final book in the Virtues and Lies series is bittersweet. I am sad to see this series come to an end but look forward to more from Alexandra Silva. She penned an unforgettable series with a memorable cast. Freddie and Georgina had me on an extreme rollercoaster ride. But that final drop to their HEA was imperfectly perfect. Their story unfolded to become one of my favourites in the series and everything came full circle. No question was left unanswered. No rock was left unturned. Freddie deserves a medal for his redemption. I wanted to hate the broody alphahole but Ms. Silva made it impossible. The author deserves all the praise for a series that consistently kept me captivated within the pages of each couples book. Flame is a phenomenal read and a perfect addition to the Virtues & Lies series.
Freddie and Georgiana's star crossed, angsty and action packed love story got a fitting ending in Flame by Alexandra Silva. Dark. Carnal. Dramatic. Thrilling. Complex. This was definitely something special.
Flame and the others books in this series is set in the deceitful, powerful and corrupt world where politics and darker side of underworld cohabit. Georgiana and Freddi is tangled in the web. Freddie is trying to untie the knots those are threatening his brothers and their families while trying to save Georgiana too. And she only wants his love. She wants him to leave behind his guilt and admit his feelings. And the enemies will strike from unexpected angles.
The first book of the duet was heavy on angst and heartbreak. And this book was more about putting the puzzle pieces together. The big conspiracy trying to take Freddie and his brothers and their dynasty down will be uncovered and though I wasn't surprised about the identity of the enemy ( I had my suspicion), it was still a bloody violent and risky ride. Also my heart was relieved to see Freddi finally shredding his guilt and doubts and inhibitions. This man has seen and survived some worst tragedies and he has become this mass of anger and danger. But Georgiana's sweet yet strong heart brought calm, peace and light in him. Their chemistry is beyond nuclear hot. Pain and pleasure. Light and dark. Erotic. Kinky. Depraved. Soulful. This story had some beautiful magical and swoony scenes and I am over the moon for them.
Flame by Alexandra Silva is the epic conclusion of an explosive series. If you love your romance wicked hot, intensely emotional and with a heavy dose of suspense...this series is for you.
Flame is book five in the Virtues & Lies series. While Smoke and Flame are Freddie and Georgina's story, the character from the previous releases play a role in this one as well and we learn more of their stories as well. Flame picks up right where Smoke ended and gives us the conclusion to Freddie and Georgina's story. A story faces a rough and winding road filled with pain, loss, suspense and an ending that left me in tears. "Always you and me" This quote is repeated throughout the book and speaks to the relationship that Freddie and Georgina have. While it takes Freddie a long time to admit not only to himself but to Georgina that he loves her, it is abundantly clear to those around them. He loves with a devotion that we could only be so lucky to experience and he protects those he considers family with everything he has even when he thinks he is the threat against them. When he pushes Georgina away and tragedy hits once again, Freddie pushes through his believes that he's a monster and not only shows but finally speaks the words to Georgina about how he feels.
I loved everything about this series, but have to admit that Freddie quickly became my favorite. How he explains his feelings is swoon worthy, his love and devotion to those he cares about is awe inspiring and his dirty talking is panty melting hot!
This is the fifth and final book in the Virtues & Lies Series and the conclusion to Georgina and Freddie’s journey. I loved the roller coaster ride of their relationship. I couldn’t put this book down. Georgina and Freddie are made for each other. They are perfect for each other. The storyline is so intense. There’s so much drama and action with the right amount of steam. I highly recommend this story.
I didn't think Freddy and Georgina's story could get any better. Boy was I wrong! They're both so obsessed with each other but it's not in a creepy way. It's in a soulmate kind of way and it's completely believable. The conclusion to their story was just beautiful.
Alright y'all this was the follow up to Smoke and it was one heck of a ending. I was excited to see that Georgina is finally standing up for herself and seeing that she was gonna have to force Freddie to admit hos feelings or she wasn't gonna get what she needs. As the story continues to unfold and they pull back layer after layer of each other you see how much Freddie truly does care and love her but boy does she gotta work to get it out of him. These two are hot messes but they work together.
This is the conclusion to Georgina and Freddies story and starts right where it ended in Smoke. You really need to read Smoke, book 4 in the Virtues & Lies series, first!!! And be warned, the asshole is not gone 😉.
Georgina and Freddie go separate ways in the beginning until an incident that shakes them both to the core. Georgina is tense but so excited that Freddie finally told her how he feels. I love it when the big, bad wolve changes into a poetic, romantic knight in shining armour *sigh* (and then back to asshole please). But you are wrong if you think they are riding into sunshine and can have their HEA without any major incidents.
These stories, Smoke and Flame, are absolutely thrilling and captivating, like all the other books in this series. The characters are so good together and I love their damages but also their beautiful souls. Sometimes they are cruel, sometimes they are extremely loveable - a perfect balance. Alexandra Silva wrote another amazing couple and I hope there will be another book in this series(????) because I need more.
This has been a brilliant series and this finale is everything and more! It is intense, filled with jeopardy, but also with love, longing, loss, frienship and the melting and remaking of Freddie. He has been so frustrating, but I forgave him everything in this book. He truly came into his own and allowed himself to be vulnerable. Oh, and he really did step up to the plate. His remorse and emotions leapt off the page. With so much action and the steady build up of attrition, Flame has been magnetic, compelling and quite simply, wonderful. And just wait for that epilogue! Truly, one of the best I've ever read!! Congratulations Alexandra. I have loved every book and the series is a favourite ❤💕💖💖💖💖💖
All I really want or need to say in my review is everyone should read this series and this book is the perfect ending! Alas… I don’t think that’s going to cut it though!
Flame continued on directly from book four, Smoke, in the Virtues and Lies series and all of the excitement and drama we have become used to is right there getting your adrenaline pumping from the very beginning and hold onto your hats because it continues.
Oh, Freddie, what are we going to do with you? You poor lost little boy, trapped inside a man’s body! My heart went out to Georgina but I applauded her for her actions. However, it really went out to Freddie because his struggle was so monumental it almost hurt reading about it. Freddie’s story has slowly been revealed over these last two books and it really explains his character, why he is how he is but even more. As I have said before he is one extremely intriguing character and well worth the wait to get to know him better.
Georgina, my word how she grew in all areas of her life but the lessons she learnt were not easy, the complete opposite in actual fact. This swan stretched her wings and in doing so helped Freddie as well. Without giving anymore away, suffice it to say this romance was never smooth sailing but heart wrenchingly beautiful in its own way. Okay, okay… I will admit there was a time I wanted to smack both of them upside their heads and tell them to wake up but becoming enmeshed in the story that much is good in my view!
With the incredibly talented writing of this author you can easily visualise each scene and experience each emotion from her descriptions. And believe me—you feel the full gambit of emotions from fear and anger to excitement and joy.
Right from book one the mystery and suspense element was outstanding and honestly, I found it hard to place the puzzle pieces together. Clues were dropped and my mind focused on some that were slotted correctly while others weren’t in the right spot. I always enjoy puzzles and this was a particularly clever one with some great twists and turns.
I totally recommend this book—this whole series to everyone!
Wow!! Flame is the absolutely breathtaking and exquisite conclusion to the Virtue and Lies series. Alexandra Silva’s words are masterful and have made me feel everything! Freddie and Georgina’s story is absolute perfection and these two are truly soulmates.
“If I’m going to drown, I want to drown in you. Only you.”
Freddie’s growth in this book is stunning. After facing the possible loss of the one thing he treasures, he finally allows himself to feel and express his feelings. It’s breathtaking. His words and action captured my heart which is something that I never thought was possible during the first books in this series.
“When he looks at me, he sees me, and it makes me shine.”
Georgina comes into her own in this book and is her own force to be reckoned with. Now that she has the love and acceptance that she has always wanted, she’s determined to keep it. Nothing will stand in her way.
“You are the exception to everything, and more importantly, you are the only one that will ever have my love.”
Words cannot express how much I love these two. Their tortured longing for each other, their soul-consuming love for each other, their absolute devotion to one another, and the combustible chemistry that explodes off the page….sigh…it doesn’t get any better than that. That epilogue was EVERYTHING!!!
After finishing this epic story, I feel like I’m entering a period of mourning. I’m not quite sure how I’ll move on from these characters, but I can’t wait to see what Alexandra Silva has in store for us next.
The conclusion to Freddy and Georgina's story was so worth the wait. So much happened in this book, but a large part (the best part) was Freddy allowing himself to be vulnerable and admit to his love of Georgina. The build-up to that scene was as frustrating as beautiful. He'd get so close but would chicken out, and Georgina would walk away. Until finally, after a scare, he just gave in. Even then, he had to work for it. All along this journey, Freddy revealed more and more about himself, and we can see what makes him up. And once Freddy commits, Freddy genuinely commits, and just as cruel as Freddy could be in his work, Freddy was off the charts romantic with his Swan.
This book was such a great conclusion to Freddy and Georgina's story, but it was also an exceptional conclusion to the series of books. There was, of course, the divine dance of Freddy and his Swan filled with steam and swoon. They finally figured out the mystery of Lucy. All of the intrigues of the brotherhood were there as Freddy, Christopher, Casper, and Leo all tried to keep their loved ones safe and do their jobs. Virtue and Lies was an exceptional series, and Flame was a perfect conclusion.
Holy Smoke and Flame!! Freddie and Georgina take this series out in a blaze of glory! This story ties the series together in a fitting finale with perhaps the most volatile and hard won love story of the lot.
This has been a fiery road for this couple, and particularly for Freddie, whose personal emotion-filled journey was perhaps the hardest one traveled, but their undeniable chemistry and determination to see their own happy ending evolve won out over everything thrown at them in the end.
This last two books are best read back to back to the other books in the series to really get a sense of the underlying story behind this band of brothers of London's elite. Personally as I had had quite a break since BLAZE, I really did struggle to remember who was who in the larger story, but it still did not detract from The Lord and his Swan and their HEA. Still makes this series "not to be missed"!!
Flame is the sequel to Smoke so you really know what you have to do to get the maximum experience out of it, and you certainly don't want to miss out since this is the last book in the Virtues & Lies series. Man, the journey that Freddie & Georgina have gone on is breathtaking, and impossible to put since I felt like I was along for the ride. The development is phenomenal as both have evolved into better people, and I loved them from the jump so I didn't think that was possible but here we are. The things they walked through made sure that the ride was emotional, not to mention the connection & chemistry shared totally tried to take my kindle out during sexy times. I'm doing my very best at not giving even one detail away because let's face it, why read reviews when you can just experience the book for yourselves. And trust me, Ms. Silva saved the best for last! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The finale to the Virtues & Lies series was explosive in every way. Secrets are uncovered, bad guys are found, people are hurt and hearts are broken and mended. Freddie brings it all and we soon see that what he holds inside, the pain and the fear, are enough to break even the strongest of men. But when those really strong men fall, they fall hard and it takes a very special woman to unearth and accept the darkness that may never really go away. Georgina is that woman. She may feel like the outcast. She may feel like she was never worthy. But she soon finds out that she is everything that both Freddie and the rest of the group needed. All loose ends are nicely tied up here and Alexandra does not skimp on the steam. Not even remotely. Thank you for the ride Ms. Silva-it was worth it.
Exhilarating and enchanting. I'm so, SO sad to see this series end but Georgina and Freddie's story was a bewitching way to end this ride. And boy what a tense, dangerous, steamy ride it's been!
Freddie has effed up royally. He's going to keep screwing up too. Though her heart will never be rid of him, Georgina has finally stood her ground and the crumbling of Freddie's walls is a truly glorious thing to read. Only for Georgina, his Swan. His heart forever. The evolution of Freddie and Georgina's relationship in this book is full of heartache and pain and honestly? It's romantic AF! Throw in the suspense and culmination of the danger and corruption that has wreaked havoc on their lives the past several years and you have a fully captivating story! I just know I've missed details from this series and I really want to go back and binge them all to grasp the entirety of the storyline and the characters' personal development. Some day that's exactly what I'm going to do!
Again, more than 5 stars for Flame. The ending to my favorite romantic suspense series. What a journey!
What a breathtaking adventure! I loved the rollercoaster ride of their relationship as they navigate Freddie understanding his true feeling for his Swan! And all the twists and turns with what really happened with Lucy while she was away. I loved every second of this story. This couple was everything. I loved that we got to see more into Freddie’s childhood trauma and what made him the man that he is today. Making him even more beautiful inside and out and helps us understand him even more. The ending was absolutely perfect, the entire family, all the kiddos and all the sass and jabs!! They got their HEA and I’m so glad I found this story!
Wow!! What a read and what a series! Flame is book 5 in the Virtues & Lies series and I can easily say that it's up there with my favourite series ever!! Freddie is still the same man we grew to love and scream at in the previous book. We got to understand him more and get a deeper idea of why he acts as he does. Georgina finally grew a back bone. She started to stand her ground and her confidence really bloomed. Their story was real and flawed but oh so beautiful and I enjoyed every single second I spent with them. Simply outstanding!!
One hell of an ending to the series. This is the conclusion to the story of Georgina and Freddie and might a say the name says it all. Layers are pulled away to the point that Freddie's story is unleashed and damn. Georgina, what a lady, so over the top to stand by her man. This book fits the name so well because by the end the whole series makes you go up in flames from the chemistry on the pages. Defiantly one on the reread list.
Amazing! That was what this series was. The characters all had a magical draw to them and I'm truly sad to see it end. The author did an outstanding job of laying her characters out there for us to see the deepest, darkest parts of them and watch the women bring light and hope to their souls. Well done~ With all done and said, I have to acknowledge it bypassed my hopes and my wish is that each and everyone of you reading this review get a chance to experience the pull I did.
I couldn't wait to read this conclusion after the first installments and I sure was not disappointed in the least with how it all unfolded. I loved all the twists and turns and the suspense over what would happen next. I couldn't put it down at all. I was desperate to read both slowly and faster as I wanted to know what would happen next but I also didn't want to finish the story. An absolutely fantastic story.
I’m sitting her trying to figure a coherent enough review because after reading this I have no words on what to say about it. Freddie and Georgina are 2 souls that are meant to be together no questions asked. This series is amazing I definitely recommend this series to everyone if you are looking for a roller coaster of emotions.
PHENOMENONAL. What a conclusion! A breathtaking finale to an incredible series. This book is the perfect ending to Virtues & Lies. Freddie Emsworth will own you. Body and soul. Five stars will never be enough. The Lord has arrived. And he is EPIC.
Flames is the epic conclusion to Frederick and Georgina's story. I was not prepared for the things that happened in this book. This story has my heart pounding and was action packed. I absolutely loved their story and I can't wait to read more from this author.
I have no words. This book literally made me cry. Freddie and Georgina are meant to be together. their story is just beautiful and it makes you believe that there is someone out there for everyone. They both deserve happiness and that’s what they got at the end.
