Jaci Burton is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling, award-winning author of over 85 books. She lives in Oklahoma and when she isn’t on deadline (which is often), she can usually be found wrestling with her uncooperative garden, wrangling her dogs, watching an unhealthy amount of television, or completely losing track of time reading a great book. She’s a total romantic and longs for the happily ever after in every story, which you’ll find in all her books.. Visit her website at www.jaciburton.com for excerpts, book information and contests.
Logan Storm has winter powers, which is apropos since he's more or less encased those powers along with his heart in a block of ice and buried them down deep. To those he meets, he's cold, unfeeling and jaded, completely refusing to acknowledge the magic his family uses. He meets Sophie Breaux, a voodoo priestess/witch who has a talent for foreseeing the future, and she warns him of danger to his family. He blows her off since he thinks she's a charlatan, but he can't ignore his attraction to her. She inveigles her way into his family, which Logan resents. She also resents that he can't control his lust for her and frequently lashes out because of it. But Sophie falls in love with Logan and knows that his lashing out is a means of protecting her heart, so she tries not to take it personally. But when he accuses her of something huge, she fears he'll never love her the way she does him and he'll never have faith in the magic they create together.
My favorite of the series so far, probably because this doesn't really involve any plays for power or dominance and, although Logan tries to exert some control over Sophie, it's totally a losing battle. I much prefer that my romantic couples meet each other as equals and that very much ends up happening here. Logan was pretty much an ass, but not nearly as bad as Shannon was... He's very much in denial about his powers and love and he manages to be somewhat sympathetic while still being an asshole to Sophie. She came across as a bit of a doormat because she lets him treat her like crap and keeps coming back for more...but there's a bit of strength under it that says she knows what she's in for and it's worth it to her. I definitely appreciated the fact that Logan's parents were willing to call him out on his behavior and actually shame him for it, but it didn't feel enough like he internalized it for me. And the fact that he doesn't have to grovel to get Sophie back was a bit disappointing too.

Logan is an immature, ungrateful ass. Sophia is a warm, giving fortune teller. Fate has put these 2 together? I think Sophie got the short end on this one. Well written. Shows a females gift for patience. Nice smooth plot with a twist thrown in. Likeable characters.
Enjoyable, but the hero took a LONG time to come around. The drama at the end didn't really feel like it fit in with the rest of the story. Then the hero's change of heart was a bit abrupt. But it was a short story, so that happens. Looking forward to the fourth sibling's story!
I can’t remember another time being so disappointed! I love your paranormal romances, but this???? With the main character screwing another woman in the alley that’s not the mate we know he will love by the end of the book? And she was there and saw! I don’t care that she liked it and pretended it was her instead. It wasn’t. It was some redhead divorcee. So wrong! Anyone book that starts out with the guy screwing somebody else besides the woman you know he’s supposed to be with especially when he knows or knows of her or has already seen her ruins any romance the book could hope to make. I literally vomited in my mouth a little bit and my chest hurt when I came upon that scene. I couldn’t even start another book when I put yours down because I was so put off. That’s all I have to say. Super bummed because I was really looking forward to reading about the cold brother finding his woman and unleashing his magic, but after that I can’t enjoy it. Heck, I can’t even enjoy the rest of my night either. Ruined!
This is a story of magic and about accepting yourself for who you are, not just who you think you should be. Logan doesn't want his magic and Sophie embraces hers. Eventually he realizes he can be his best self if he accepts everything he is.
Yes, yes, yes! Another book by Jaci Burton, “Winter Ice”, third book from A Storm for All Seasons Series. This is book will feature the ever so cold and CEO of the hotel/casino, Logan and Sophie, the complete opposite of her counterpart.
In Fall Fury we were introduced to another supernatural world, the world of werewolves; and now the witch/demon world (if I can name what happened with Winter Ice, this would be it).
So, if you have been reading this series from book 1 you may know that Logan isn’t the easiest of the brothers to be around with, and he’s far from accepting who and what he is. But it will change, for the better.
Sophie is a very powerful priestess — which I’ll call it Witch, which makes me think of Phoebe from Charmed, yeh, random —, who is trying to warn the Storm family of an imminent danger. Her sense of rightfulness will make her go through with the whole family, and a very stubborn Logan.
Obviously they will fall hard for each other, the guy will be distant, the girl will be lost, furious, and tired. But they both will connect, and get together in the end. It’s a super hot reading, as usual - but you will enjoy everything - really.
Book 3 also features every single character - and couple - still keeping their personalities and making you laugh pretty hard, or cry, or… - it depends on you.

I really like this series even if the men in the family can be total dicks. Logan is the worst of them all. Even with love bitchslapping him in face he still fused to see it. Great story. Fantastic twist. My heart hurt for Brett but I got a feeling he'll get his HEA.
