After her arrival, a hurricane hits and forces the community to go on lockdown, preventing Penelope from being able to leave.Although reluctant to be there in the first place, Penelope develops a friendship with one of the residents—Juliana, becomes involved in a decades-old mystery, and begins a new romance. She soon realizes she has a choice to does she go back to her comfortable life in New York or should she sacrifice everything’s she’s known in order to put an end to the loss of innocent lives?

This book has charismatic and interesting characters, catches you with an engaging and evolving plot, and explores some uncommon themes! I feel like I learnt so much about the author and valued that as part of the reading experience. A relatively quick read, finished it in 2 days, and excited for more from the author.
