Kaitlyn Storm, the youngest Storm daughter and the one with the Spring powers, has always loved Brett McGregor and still dreams about the kiss they shared when she was 17. Brett walked away from her then because she was so young and he had a problem...but that problem didn't stop him from marrying another woman. But several years later, he was responsible for her death (because of his problem) and he's been avoiding Kaitlyn ever since, believing that he'd be poison to her sweetness and that for her own good, he needs to stay away from her, no matter that he loves her more than life. Now that it's been 6 years since his wife's death though, Kaitlyn is ready to show Brett how much she loves him and work to help him move on...to make him fall in love with her.
In this story, you have the heroine as the aggressor completely. Despite loving the heroine, Brett has done his level best to avoid the heroine, knowing that if he starts a relationship with her he'll hurt her, just like he did his wife. See, so he's been living in guilt since and sure that he'd hurt the only other woman he loves the same way. But Kaitlyn is pretty hard headed and doesn't want to take no for an answer. She finagles her way into getting Brett to paint her nude which naturally works because he can't resist her naked body. So they start sleeping together, and Brett loves it and her, but he still doesn't want the relationship. When he tells Kaitlyn (without telling her his secret), she's heartbroken.
I liked the fact that Brett had real problems and that he still struggled with them. I also liked that I didn't have any trouble feeling the love between these two characters. The love was fairly well established from the beginning and believable, despite the hurt Brett tossed at her. Kaitlyn knows he does it to push her away and Brett thinks he's doing it in her best interest. But Brett was a bit of a conundrum here because he kept saying he didn't want to hurt her but he also recognized that he was hurting her by pushing her away, and I liked his constant confusion over that. What I didn't care for here was that Kaitlyn ignored what Brett wanted. I feel like Brett and his problems were maybe good enough reasons to not want to be in a relationship (even if it was the whole being noble thing) and he was pretty clear from the start that he didn't want to start anything with her. But Kaitlyn is insistent that they do, simply because she knows he's attracted to her. I kinda think she should have left him alone, like he wanted (yeah, I know, but then there wouldn't be a story). And I was disappointed that in the end, it's Kaitlyn that crawls back to Brett and makes him tell his secret and again pushes him into the relationship. It needed to be Brett deciding for himself that he loved Kaitlyn enough to battle his demons and that HE was ready for a relationship. It needed to be his decision, not hers.

This was the final book in the series of 4 books altogether...obviously, one book for each season! Living in the midwest, I am very familiar with the changes in each season. Some are more subtle than others! Jack Burton captured the essence of that change with each book in this series...and in the personalities of the individual characters of the books. This book reflected the youngest of the 4 siblings, and it was a tender story of a love that spans several years, while the youngest sibling comes into her own. Glad that she finished with this book, Spring Rain.
This is the final chapter of the Storm family saga. Kait has loved Brett as long as she can remember but he pulled away from her. Tragic events caused changes in him, but fear kept him away. She finally gets him to see the light and they get their HEA.
3.5 stars Like the other 3 books in this series, the sex is hot, but that is most of each story. The story itself is OK. The series left me feeling there could have been so much more.
In this last installment for A Storm For All Seasons Novel, Spring Rain features Kaitlin and an old friend of the family, Brett.
Kaitlyn Storm is an Events Coordinator for their family business, and Brett McGregor a very talented painter, and owner of a gallery.
Brett was first mentioned on Winter Ice as Aidan’s best friend, and now he’s back to shed some light into his past.
Kaitlyn is determined to place her heart on the line, and in the process of putting herself out there, by all means (including some manipulation), she has to put up with another stubborn man in her life. Brett, oh Brett, the poor one can’t make up his mind about our female character - but he’ll have to before she’s out of his life for good.
I think I have said before that Jaci makes a wonderful job on making us go around hating some characters decisions, relief when something goes smoothly as we hoped it would, and much more. I simply love that this impressive gorgeous characters could captivate my attention for so long, and make me feel everything, and believe they were real people. That’s just wonderful.
I ain’t telling you much, cause it’s the last book of this series, and I want to give nothing away. I’m sorry if you were looking for details and couldn’t find them. You just simply gonna have to read it.

I liked this story. I read it out of order so I may have liked it better if I read it the way it was intended, but I thought it was steamy and interesting. I liked the storm family. but, I didn't know how I felt about Brett's deep, dark secret. I thought we needed more there. Otherwise though I enjoyed it. I am actually going to go back and read the first three in the series.
I enjoyed this, but the big drama was not as terrible as the hero made it out to be - it was bad though, I don't want to make light of it. The resolution was too simple too. But in a shorter story, that happens. I still enjoyed the series.
wow! loved this series, and hate that It's over! where can a girl find love like that of the entire Storm family?! I will def be reading more from the talent of Jaci Burton, that is for sure!!
I liked this series. This book was ok and definitely had some hot sex. I love the family interactions they are great together. I love all of Jack's books.
