Jack proposed. Channon said yes. Now he's engaged to a billionaire, and everything's almost perfect.
But Jack is insisting they tell the world about it, and Channon doesn't know who he's supposed to be. The nature of his relationship with Jack is too scandalous to be made public, and he doesn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about a younger guy and his much older, wealthier fiancé. It doesn't help that they sometimes invite other people to bed with them. That won't look good at all.
So much of what people will think of Jack's wealth and Channon's inexperience is true, except it isn't the whole truth—that's something else completely.
Jack loves him. Channon is Jack's boy. But what else he'll become is something he'll have to discover for himself.
I read a lot of books. More than 500 last year alone. So, I guess it’s not surprising that I forget most of them. I remember every minute of the Boy Next Door books. I love Jack and Channon and I love it every time I get to join them for another adventure. I decided while reading this I wanted to go back and read them all again from when Channon was the shy underaged boy living next door to the adoring boy about to get married.
I’ve missed these two men so much. This installment really sees Channon come into his own and shine. I love being in his head as he figures things out. He’s such a beautiful soul. So gentle and caring. Over his time with Jack he’s lost a little of himself so it was really great to see him here, making decisions based on his wants and needs, yet always having Jack front and centre.
And the sex was so good. Sexy and so sweet. Personal and so intimate with play partners, without ever being a threat to their relationship.
Layers. That’s what this series has. What began as a bit of a cheesy one night stand has developed into a really kinky and heartwarming tale of love. I love the intricacies of Channon and Jack’s relationship. How each experience has them learning about themselves and each other, and ends with them growing together.
Jack and Channon are everything and are definitely one of my OTPs. I just love all of the dynamics with everything about them and how far they have come since the first season.
You MUST read these in order, but if you have an open mind - and are seriously OK with legit every type of kink imaginable, you simply must read this series.
I feel like we've waited forever for this new installment featuring my favourite couple but it was definitely worth the wait. I'm usually against sharing in most relationships because I like my couples to be possessive of each other, but this author writes those scenes so well that it just feels right, almost like these extra men are almost extensions of Jack. ( and they are so bloody hot)
Channon is so sweet and caring and he's really coming into his own in these newer episodes and I'm loving seeing it. I'm also loving seeing them evolve as a couple and being more outwardly loving towards each other.
These episodes are never long enough, honestly I could read about Jack and Channon for hours. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book and keeping my fingers crossed that Victor might get his own book at some point!
I absolutely adore this series & I haven't read one yet that made me think that I might get bored with it. This author is able to create character growth, let the mature and evolve while still being true to themselves.
In the beginning, I thought it was just going to be PWP & I was so, so wrong. Jack & Channon made me feel more comfortable with the fact that BDSM can come in many different forms as long as there's consent & both partners (or all partners) are gaining something from it. There specific type seems like it would be one person completely controlling the will over another due to age, money, experience etc. but it's more like one wants to be worshipped (while taking care of the other) & the other takes pleasure in worshipping (yet, secretly loves being taken care of.) I don't even know if I am explaining properly but it has worked for them but not always smoothly. Once they learned how to communicate effectively (which is still ongoing) it just keeps getting better and better.
My favorite part is that we have watched Channon start to build confidence & blossom & I love that he is trying to figure some things out on his own for the good of them both. It was like he like a lump of clay in the beginning who is being shaped into something more beautiful but now is really coming to life!
I love this series, and I swear it just keeps getting better. I love the growth that happens as Channon figures himself out and who he is aside from Jack’s sub. There were some super intriguing side characters that I’m excited to see more of. And while the fantasy Jack and Channon came up with was smoking hot, the actual way things turned out was pretty fantastic too!
First, full disclosure: I was sent an ARC (and felt like I won a lottery). That fact has nothing to do with my review; it just so happens I am addicted to Robin Moray’s HBND series (and its spin-offs).
For anyone who is not familiar with the series, do not start with this entry. Unlike many series out there, these books cannot be read as standalones. One of the real talents Ms. Moray has is character development; watching these men grow and how it effects their relationship, friendships, jobs, etc., is the reason to wait impatiently for each installment. (Well, that and the really hot sex scenes.) Channon, for example, is no longer the boy toy Jack seduced in the first book; “Full Disclosure” focuses on his coming into his own. Still the sweet, earnest sub Jack fell for, but now he’s beginning to get a better sense of himself as he leaves his teen years. Your twenties are really when you invent yourself, free from parental (or whomever’s) influence; Channon’s second biggest journey begins now.
Other characters from the earlier books have gone on to have their own lives in their own books - specifically Tig, Nate, and Ewan - and appearances from any or all of them are always appreciated, no matter how brief. As noted by other reviewers here, two new characters are introduced this time, and both of them could launch great new spin-offs.
The negatives? Ms. Moray cannot write these books fast enough for me. I have read the entire series too many times to count while waiting to find out what these gents are doing without me. Another issue is length; many read like short stories; I want something more...like “Gone With the Wind-“ like length. (Hey, I’m greedy, and I don’t have to sit at a keyboard and come up with these stories.) Every time I come to the end of a new book it’s like falling off a cliff. (Oh - a cliffhanger! I get it!) Each book reads like an episode in a really great TV series, and no matter what the length I’ll be first in line to get the next entry. I’m all in, and GoodReads doesn’t give me an option for a galaxy of stars.
Jack and Channon's relationship continues to evolve as the engagement forces them to think more clearly about what their future will look like and as Channon's self-confidence and self-image continue to improve. Moray's ability to tease character observations out of every scene keeps this series feeling fresh and interesting. Channon I've yet to read an episode that felt like it was just filling space or treading old ground, and this one was no exception.
—Spoilers below—I received this as my first ever ARC. Having been a fan of the first 4 seasons, and related spin off story lines which converge with this series, I’ve waited with much anticipation for this final season with Jack and Channon.
The inaugural episode of the season did not disappoint!
As they plan for their future, Channon begins to develop more sense of self, showing more of his personality. His growth strengthens his place with Jack. His evolution is sweet, just like this boy. We see a continuation of the intimacy between Jack and Channon. And true to this couple’s standard MO, there is an intense, and sweet scene with a third...but with a bit of a twist.
The episode is incredibly well written. The relationship between Jack and Channon is amazingly dirty, hot and sweet all at the same time. My only complaint is that I was introduced to this author after she’d released the first 4 seasons and related spinoff’s in consolidated volume format, so the single episode format makes me impatient. I’m one who normally won’t read a cliffhanger series until the finale is published just for personal preference, but there is no way I’m waiting this time. I’ve really enjoyed this storyline, and plan to continue them by episode and will read all seasons in order when the series has ended.

Oh how I missed Jack and Channon!!! This was fantastic! Thinking back to when they first met 36 books ago, wow have they both grown and changed so much. This book was a major stepping stone for Channon as he came so much more into his own while still balancing what he loved and craved about his relationship and dynamic with his sir. Two new characters are introduced and they were both great and I hope we see more of them in season 5. This was everything I was hoping it would be. We got some scorching hot, kindle melting scenes and we got to see Jack and Channon's love for each other continue to grow. Cannot wait for the next one!
I love this book - I love Channon and Jack. This was a great story, it’s always wonderful to see how the grow together in their relationship 😍 I had wondered if things would ever progress with Victor and I was not disappointed- a little surprised (like Jack was😉) but very satisfied . I can’t wait to see what happens with Damiano in future books. I have loved His Boy Next Door from the beginning and I’m so happy to see where this love story is going❤️ Thank you Robin for sending me this Arc copy!!
I love this series and this next chapter does not disappoint! I love the evolution of Channon and Jack's relationship. Moray is so great with character development even with secondary characters. We meet Victor and Damiano in this installment and it adds yet another layer to their dynamic. I can't wait for the next chapter. Everything by this author is an automatic read for me.
Love Jack and Channon. Their journey is so much fun to read. I can't wait to see how much more their relationship grows from here. Keep up the good work!!!!
The continuation of Jack and Channon's story focuses heavily on Channon and his growing maturity - both of thought and emotion. Experiencing him evolve in this way is beautiful and adds such depth to his character. It also softens Jack's persona and I thoroughly enjoyed the introspective elements of this chapter. A new and dynamic character is introduced who is sure to arouse differing emotions in each reader, but after some deliberation, I found I am fascinated with Damiano and I hope we see him again. This episode is certainly not lacking in heat, for all the emotions it brings and the intense scene where we see a new side of Channon will be a crowd favourite, I'm sure! This is NOT a standalone but must be read after the other books. Only then will you adore Channon enough to understand how beautiful his butterfly is after he emerges from the "Full Disclosure" chrysalis.
My comments apply to installments #1 - #40. Reread of seasons 1-3. I rarely reread something so out of my comfort zone. This series is probably 70 - 80% kink I don't care so, less in the first season of the series as it pretty much concentrates only on the two main characters, Jack the dom and Channon the sub.
-First of all, this is the journey of a virginal 18-year-old boy into a hard-core 24/7 relationship. I don't like those, at all, the sub even gets dictated on what days he can have a cheat day and eat a slice of pizza. Not realistic at all. He has very very little will of his own. And frankly, I would have felt more comfortable if Channon had at least been two years older, not a few weeks shy of his high school graduation. -Secondly, there's a lot of swapping, swinging, sharing and displaying the sub with all kinds of super kinky people. I can deal with the occasional menage between the dom's best friend and his sub, but I find it completely weird that the dom gets turned on being basically cuckolded. Shudder. -Thirdly, there is just too much weird stuff going on. Kink school for subs, creepy sex clubs, objectification, training of a cum- and cock slut, side characters that weird me out (Mr White, hello). -Fourth, the sub gets his rock off being a service sub which is - arggg - so not sexy. I am also frankly quite often uncomfortable with how little free initiative and will he shows. His standard response is "Whatever you wish for Sir" and most often I only want to shake him.
However, I absolutely adore the main characters as well as the main side characters (Nate and Ewan, the dom and sub's best friends). I adore most of the kink they do when they are alone (except for the predicament bondage later on, because crippling pain in the whole body is not erotic anymore), I absolutely love how the dom coaxes Channon (the sub) out of his shell and strengthens his self-esteem (because his dad and mother belittled him on every turn). I like how the author captivates me - and let me tell you - it takes some talent to write good smut and engage me in over 40 instalments in a series that mostly features stuff that's completely out of my comfort zone.
Will I reread the series again? Probably not. Will I read further instalments? Definitely yes. And I will also revisit Nate and Ewan's story. B fir the first season, B- for the second season, C- for all further installments (mainly bc of all the stuff that weirds me out).
• BDSM (can’t list all the k!nks as they try and like soooo many!!) • MM romance • dom/sub (Sir) • gentle dom • age gap (about 20 years) • gay awakening • billionaire x insecure young man • 3rd person pov
I’m writing one review for all 40 episodes (spoiler free).
Add!citing series! I’ve had so much fun reading this. It’s definitely full on BDSM erot!ca, don’t get me wrong, but there’s also a lot of romance and some plot. It was nice to discover BDSM in a healthier environment outside of the realm of dark romance. So much communication was put into this couple and I really appreciated that.
I went into the first volume thinking it was a series or short stories, and discovering it’s instead a longer serialized story of the same characters. I was pleasantly surprised and realized this is probably the first 3rd person pov romance I read that I actually loved! So well executed.
Now, I’m absolutely a newbie in reading the world of full BDSM, but as an inexperienced reader of this, I really appreciated how realistic it felt, it’s still fiction of course, but to me this is has one of the most realistic spicy scenes I’ve personally ever read.
It was so fun to be immersed in the pov and dynamics of two characters who fully engage in BDSM in their lifestyle. This was a discovery read for me and it made me realize how much trust is needed for BDSM to work. It got emotional in some parts too and I loved that! Although some of the k!nks did make me a little uncomfortable/surprised, but that’s me lol, they’re very kinky! But they’re cute together. I’ve certainly smiled and giggled a lot reading this, either actual happy smiles or smiles of embarrassment lol
The characters are well developed and they are just so sweet and cute. Jack is definitely a gentle dom. And Channon is such a sweetheart.
I’m curious to see if there will be more episodes, I surely hope so.
ManOMan. This episode really made me hyperaware of just how much I've missed Channon and Jack since the conclusion of season 4! Their dynamic is so beautifully structured and they've grown so much as a couple throughout the development of the entire series. It's truly been sublime to watch their relationship bloom and blossom. Moray always does such an exemplary job of slowly spooling out the character arcs during each season.
There are many wonderful new developments and discoveries in Full Disclosure, several of which came as delightful surprises!! It's wonderful to see Ewan's friendship continue to flesh itself out. I love how Jack continues to provide such an amazingly supportive and safe environment while encouraging Channon to recognize his own wants and desires. As readers, we then get to see how Channon's new self discoveries actually begin to alter and reshape Jack's own trajectory. It's absolutely fascinating and is a joy to experience! Some of the most exciting aspects of this installment are all of the little hints and teasers about how much individual growth these characters are likely to see during season 5. It'll be interesting to see how these changes might possibly spiral and leach out into their personal and private lives and all the ways that they are sure to alter the course of their relationship. Without a doubt, Moray will spin an enticing path forward for our boys ♥ I simply cannot wait!
Ahh, Jack and Channon, back again, it's like putting on a warm comfy pair of slippers, except, erm, much sexier.
So, on the one hand, this book was totally what I expected, because, Robin has form and you know you're going to get some Jack in a Suit, and some Channon Being Doe Eyed, and some Well Written Kinky Sex, plus there's the story arc, so we kind of know what's happening next at this stage. And we got all of that, and it was good, of course it was good, we knew it would be because we've already read episodes 1-36 (and if you haven't, you really do need to read this series in order, so go and start with the very first one).
And on the other hand, this book had a bit of surprise, because I *knew* there was sharing coming, it's in the content warning after all (not that it's much of a surprise given how Jack and Channon like to play), but there was a bit of tease about who it was going to be with this time, and then when it came, it threw all of us a bit of a curveball, Jack, Channon and me. But, you know, we all adapted quickly to the situation and all of us had a whale of a time. And now I have gone back to my near perpetual state of Waiting For the Next Installment. As well as the Next Installment of A Collar For His Brat. And Tig's next book. And, now there is yet another character who needs his *own* book. I can't decide which I want first.
After reading several episodes of Nate and Ewan's intensely passionate romance, returning to Jack and Channon was a refreshing change of pace. I'd forgotten just how pliant and willing Channon was for anything Jack suggested, and there was something so intoxicating about watching the two of them spin fantasies together in the quiet of their home. This episode was very Channon-centric, and I confess that I was really happy to see him explore what HE liked and wanted for a change. Jack's dominance has been the end all be all for so long in this series, and while there's no denying that Channon adores his fiancee, it had been bothering me to see him as such a blank slate, with no favorites or interests outside of being Jack's perfect boy. While Channon's motivations for developing a unique sense of self ultimately came back to making Jack look good, it was still really exciting to see him question and explore how he actually wanted to dress and decorate the house instead of leaving it all up to Jack. In addition to Channon's soul-searching, I also finally feel like I'm beginning to understand what Channon gets out of his relationship with Jack. For so long, all I could see was how his submissiveness made it difficult for him refuse Jack, but Channon actually has much more power than it seems. It was him, not Jack, who had the final say on inviting Victor for a night of indulgence, and though Channon would never do anything without Jack's approval it was clear that he thoroughly enjoyed himself the whole time. Jack and Channon's relationship has an inherent power imbalance that will never go away, but seeing them interact more as future-husbands than Dom and sub made it a lot easier for me to see how the rest of the world could accept their relationship.
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
If you've come this far you know how splendid this series is... I kind of hate writing reviews of Robin's books because generally I dislike excessive exclamations but this series! Is SO!! HOT!!! There are so many BDSM books that are pretty much just, sub meets dom = kinkily ever after, with so little friction that it almost feels like it should be called "vanilla BDSM." But this world (His Boy Next Door and related series/books) goes so in depth on the specific nature, style, flavor of each person's submission or domination, it's a little like a very slow build love story that keeps getting more intense BUT without having to actually wait for the ohmygod x-rated satisfaction that is studded throughout each short book of this luxurious series. Full Disclosure does not disappoint in the least -- I'm left wanting to say "Awwwww" and cry a couple of tears and turn up the air conditioner and have some Deep Thoughts about what it means to belong to someone and how we are each unique-in-all-the-world roses all at the same time. Hope to see more of the newly introduced Victor Ruiz, a sweet character who continues to teach that you can't judge a book by its cover. Will I ever get enough Jack and Channon? Magic 8 Ball says "Get back to your writing studio, Ms. Moray." I love this book, love this series, love this author. (Reviewed ARC)
First thing first; I got this book as a ARC. Also I have not read any of the other books in the series because why be logical when you can be an impulsive chaos demon.
First this book gave me nothing. Without context for the main characters was redused to either handsome and rich, my least favorite character traits, or "I only want what my partner wants for me". However the longer into the book I got the more I liked it because the thing I didn't like in the beginning (Channon being a passive participant in his own life) was the focus of the book. The arc is for Channon to find out what he wants and to express this to Jack, who also seems to have abit more of a personality as the book goes on. I really liked that. The author is good and the characters are for the most part engaging, probably more so when you have the full context of their relationships.
So while this was a pleasant short read on it's own I would recommend anyone who thinks it seems interesting to start from the beginning and see if you like it.
Jack and Channon have always been mesmerizing together, so it’s no surprise that they continue to be so in this installment. What is surprising, in the best possible way, is the way their emotional bonds continue to evolve, and how they learn more about themselves, and who they are together, all the time. That they love each other is never in doubt, but that their relationship can grow and chance still shocks them both, Jack especially, every time it happens. I loved seeing Channon, with help from some unexpected sources, get a chance to discover and express his own sense of style, and I loved seeing him take on more agency in their scenes while still, of course, leaving Jack in perfect control. I’ve never read an episode of this series I didn’t like, but this one might just be my favorite so far: it’s hot, it’s sweet, and it’s progress, in such good ways, for both of them. Also, Victor is amazing, and I’d love to see him again.
*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
Great Channon and Jack installment. I love the relationship between these two and am excited for the next. As usual this book was super steamy, there is a (very consensual) hot sharing scene but no cheating whatsoever. Part of me felt weird that N and E weren’t involved but I think that’s just me and my wish for them. One of the things I enjoyed most in this book was getting to see Channon growing more into his own person and becoming more confident in himself, and Jack supporting him 100% fully along the way. I really can’t say it enough, Robin does such a great job of combining believable love/romance and erotica, one of the best at it in my opinion. After reading this I’m left with the questions how will the interview go how will the public respond? What is happening with them and Ewan and Nate in future? Will they just be staying 4 friends with casual benefits or will it be something unique and more? I really never want this series to end yet at the same time I cant wait to see where these two end up in the future.

I was so excited when I learned that R. J. Moray would be releasing another episode in the Becoming His Boy Next Door saga. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and read it! Which I did. In one sitting. It was just too good to put down! I love reading how Jack and Channon’s relationship continues to evolve and I was thrilled their story didn’t end when Jack proposed to Channon. Episode 37 primarily focuses on Channon’s development and him figuring out what he likes and wants that’s separate from what Jack likes or wants. While Channon’s newly developing independent way of thinking might seem like it could cause a rift in his relationship with Jack, it actually does the opposite and helps Channon understand that what Jack wants from their relationship is also what Channon really wants too. We also get to see a much softer side to Jack regarding his feelings towards Channon and some of his insecurities as well. As this episode is part of a series, it should be read in order and not as a stand-alone to really understand the dynamic behind Jack and Channon’s relationship. My only issue with the story is that now I have to hurry up and wait until the next episode is released. I guess I’ll just have to re-read the series from the beginning while I wait.
When I first started this journey, it was with A Collar For His Brat. I loved that series! I did not come to like Jack very much in them, though. It took me a long time to even try to read His Boy Next Door because I did not want to read about how Jack treated Channon.
When I finally started reading HBND, some things came into perspective better about their relationship. Channon hated making decisions. He did not want to make any because he did not want to disappoint Jack because of how his parents made him feel. So, since the beginning of this series, I have had a love/hate relationship with Jack.
This book made me so happy! Channon FINALLY started coming into his own: realizing things he wants, becoming an equal to Jack, finding himself. I hope this continues throughout the rest of the books because it makes me so happy.
Another great instalment in this series! I was so excited to dive back into Channon and Jack’s heads, and they did not disappoint! Without going into spoiler territory, I must say that seeing the character development in Moray’s books is immensely satisfying, not to mention relationship development, which is something explored here! We see characters old (😉) and new for some delicious adventures, bringing with them delightful discoveries and moments that made me stop and squeal with glee. I really can’t say much else other than that so I won’t give any spoilers, other than recommend it wholeheartedly. I can’t wait for the next episode!!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and I will say it was entirely my pleasure to read it! My thoughts are my own.
