The Brentwood Boys have come together in a three book boxset. Over 300,000 words of delicious baseball players (The Locker Room, The Dugout, and The Lineup) with a LARGE 15,000 word epilogue of where they are now. Marriage? Maybe. Babies? Possibly. Abs? Oh yes, they still have abs.
The Locker Room
Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?
Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle.
So when the girl I've fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it's time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.
The only question is, will she accept?
The Dugout
Let me ask you a question:
If someone is vying for your spot on a team and just so happens to injure you during practice, would you believe it was on purpose?
Word around campus is . . . it was no accident.
That injury has cost me everything. Now, I’m a senior fresh off recovery, struggling to find my groove, until the day I run into The Baseball Whisperer, Milly Potter.
Little do we both know, she’s about to become more than just my fairy ballmother.
The Lineup
Want to know a secret?
That boy over there, the one with the spectacular backside, yeah, I first saw him in college, talking to his friends. Tall, broad, sculpted by his many hours in the weight room. His personality was larger than life and I was too shy to approach him.
Now he’s a professional baseball player, I’m a confident CEO, but my crush is still strong. yup, massive crush. I have a chance at winning a date with him. Should I enter?
When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.
You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.
I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.
The Brentwood Boys have come together for a box set of over 1100 pages with a deliciously long "where are they now"- a bonus story that will have your heart beating a little to fast. Discounted for THREE days and then the price goes up. Available always in #KindleUnlimited
This box is worth for the lovers of a good old rom-com and sports Romance.
Three books. Each book with a different couple. All three books narrated by a different male and female narrator. Just the way I love it!
I have my review for all three books posted separately, but I'll put my resume of the narrators and my rating for each book here.
The Locker Room - ⭐⭐⭐
I loved the start of this book! Their connection was so strong that it was palpable! It read super funny and make me laugh out loud a few times!
The reasons why they separate from each other still in college, or the 8 years before they even see each other again, although living in the same city, didn't sit well with me at all, and totally ruined the fun and carefree vibe that I was having with this book, and the whole "always and forever" kinda of love that the author portrait until then.
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to Felicity Monroe, because she carried the book on her back! Literally! Her chapters were funny and incredibly well done, full of emotions and wits. 1 ⭐ to Rock Engle, because unfortunately, I can't say the same for him. His voice were too old to be Knox and he looked like a drunk man in almost the entire book! Dragging words and eating up letters while forcing an accent that didn't fit at all. His words weren't clear, and I had a hard time to understand him a bunch of times.
At the end, I wish the book were narrated by a single person, even if I always prefer the dual one.
The Dugout - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Again I loved how the author built up their relationship and their connection, and how devoted to each other they both were.
Also again the plot twist was a little bit dramatic in my opinion, especially if this is a light sports ROM-COM. At least their separation were of 3 years, and not the 8 years as the previous book, and also didn't involved other men/women.... Small mercies that I'm thankful for.
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to Savannah Peachwood and Sebastian York, who performed the whole story with emotion and talent! Flawless!
The Lineup - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The last book on the Audible collection of The Brentwood Boys starts a loooot like an enemies to lovers... Still with funny moments and with Jason being so drama queen and so exaggerated in his antics, that he's the one to make you laugh out loud in this book.
I reaaaally enjoyed much more this book than the previous one too. This is the funniest and sensible man between the guys, matching with the grumpiest and coldest woman between the girls... a real good recipe for a hilarious rom-com.
Jason was such a different character! He was a bag full of contradictions and I loved each and everyone of them. Dottie was the cold side of their relationship until she lost him... And that was all on her too, so I couldn't help the girl.
Bonus points for the break on the cycle of years apart, after the plot twist... I couldn't handle another couple doing their own thing for years!
4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ for both! Maxine Mitchell gave life to the cold Dottie and I really loved how perfect for her she was. Stephen Dexter did an amazing job bringing Jason to life, but he also exaggerated so much in Jason's antics, that Jason looked like a gay in his playfulness, not just a funny guy.
5 star review of The Brentwood Boys by Meghan Quinn
AUDIO REIEW: 3 books in one to listen to with over 33 hours. Great value and great stories
The Locker Room - What a great listen this was. I was hooked from the first chapter to the last and couldn’t put this book down; I was totally immersed in the story that Meghan Quinn wove. The narration by Rock Engle and Felicity Monroe was good and did justice to the story. Knox Gentry was such a charismatic hero that I couldn't help but fall for him. I fell hard and fast, he is totally swoon worthy. I really liked Em and her roommates Lindsay and Dottie, they are women I would be happy to call friends. Em is emotionally broken thanks to an ex who really messed with her her head and when she opened up about her past, I just wanted to hug her. The chemistry between Knox and Em was electrifying and you could almost feel it as you were listening.
The Dugout - This one is narrated by Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood who certainly did a good job bringing this one to life for me and were the right choices in my opinion to play Carson Stone and Milly Porter. Carson’s career is hanging in the balance, he’s on his last chance and is desperate. Meeting Milly,I loved the banter between them which was witty and I loved the progression of their relationship from friends to lovers.. What happens when tragedy strikes? Will it be the final straw? The camaraderie between the characters was so funny that at times I was laughing like a fool. Although having said that there were times that I was emotional whilst listening. I really loved Milly, she is such a wonderful heroine and I found her so easy to relate too and she seemed to counter the seriousness that was Carson at times. The Lineup - This was narrated by Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell who did a good job bringing this story to life for me; I found them both easy to listen to.This is an enemies to loves story that will get under your skin and have you wanting to re read time and again. I fell hard and fast for Jason Orson, he was everything I wanted and so much more. Not only is he hot, but he is caring and protective and I loved how independent, feisty and sassy Dottie is. The chemistry between Jason and Dottie was intense and hot.
The Locker Room –Emory is looking for a new beginning and isn’t about to be distracted from her goals by any man. Knox is destined for a career in the MLB however he is not your typical jock. From the moment that Knox saw Emory he knew she was special and wants to know everything about her. A friendship develops and Knox knows that because of her past he needs to be patient and watching their relationship unfold was magical.
The Dugout – After a serious injury Carson is worried that his dreams of playing baseball professionally could be in jeopardy. Due to her family Milly knows more about the game than most players and is determined to find success as a trainer. When she tries to give Carson some advice he discounts her expertise but he soon realizes that she is the best thing to ever happen to his game, but will he realize that she is the best thing that could happen to him as well?
The Lineup - Dottie’s lack of success in her personal life has her focusing on her career. When they were students, she was attracted to Jason however he never noticed her until she wins a date with him. Jason is the sweet and sexy catcher who is a good teammate, a great friend and always willing to help anyone with anything. What started out as a way to help his charity turns into so much more when he meets Dottie. Let the games begin!
It is great to have these three stories in one collection.
I loved re reading their stories!! I read these 3 books a while back but I knew I needed to read them again to remember why I fell in love with them and see how the future was for the couples. Knox and Emory, Carson and Milly, and Jason and Dottie all had their HEA at the end of each book but I was really excited to read more about what they were doing in the future and just read more of their interactions. The extended epilogue was a nice way of seeing more about their lives together and everything they were going through, and I loved how after some years they were still best friends. They were all like a big family so I really loved reading how they were doing after the ending of their books.
These baseball players have definitely been worth reading so now I can’t wait to read Walker’s story.
I read this purely for the extended epilogue at the end because I will ALWAYS need more from Knox, Carson and especially Jason, and Meghan did not disappoint. She did have me for a while, why does she play with our hearts like this? Even in that short epilogue she gave me all the emotions, but I was so happy to see these couples further into their futures together and how they were still good supportive friends. I liked how it showed that even after the last page of a romance, the couple will still face hardships, it's not all plain sailing, and that makes Meghan's stories all the more real.
If you loved any of the first three books, this boxset is well worth getting just for the epilogue!
I got to listen to this one in audio. I have previously read most of the books in the series but to be able to experience these boys (and girls) in audio was something else. The whole series is fantastic and to have the three books bundled into one is amazing and such incredible value.
The bundle feature 3 books each book focuses on a different couple. They are baseball romance and each couple is so unique while interconnecting with the other characters who we have met before. It makes for an incredible read.
I would highly recommend if you are a fan of Meghan Quinn, Sports Romance or just generally just like romance on audio that you go and check this bundle out.
The Brentwood Boys box set and extended epilogue were everything I never knew I needed, and they made my heart so happy and full. Meghan Quinn knocked it out of the park with The Locker Room, The Dugout, and The Lineup, but she really made my day with the extended epilogue. I absolutely loved it, even though she put my heart through the wringer a little, LOL.
With tons of heart, humor, and heat, every standalone sports romance in The Brentwood Boys series is an absolute MUST READ, and you definitely won’t regret giving them a try!
I loved this box set! I have reviewed each book individually so I will just say I highly recommend any and all of these books, this box set and this author :)
This book was fun, it was sweet, it was laugh out loud funny, and truly addicting from start to finish.
I wasn’t expecting to feel so much emotion while reading this, but it was hard not to. It was hard not to completely fall for Knox and Emory’s story.
Emory is starting at a new school with her BFF’s after ending a six-year relationship with her jerk of an ex. She was hurt and she isn’t going to trust any man easily. Knox is a baseball star, he is on track to join the major leagues, he has never had a serious relationship but when he meets Emory there is something about her that he can’t turn way. Their first “meeting” at a party was funny, but the first official run in, and I mean literal run in, is super adorable.
I loved their instant friendship and that no matter what happened they would always keep that friendship. I loved that Knox was insanely sweet and his patience to take things slow. I think he stole my heart and instantly become my number one book boyfriend.
Emory decides they need rules, she still has her walls up and isn't completely ready to jump into another relationship, she isn't ready to fully trust another man, but she can't deny her connection to Knox.
Rule 1: "Friends forever and always" Rule 2: " lots and lots of oral. Pants-loan, no boatloads of oral. more oral than anyone can ever imagine." Rule 3: "keep things casual." Rule 4: "no matter how casual we are, we are always exclusive. That means my penis is the only penis you're fondling."
Meghan Quinn wrote a beautiful sports romance that is full of love, second chances, tears, laughs, steaminess. It is so easy to get lost in the story, fall in love with Knox and Emory and their friends.
The Dugout:
I LOVED LOVED LOVED Carson, Milly and their story. If you thought Knox Gentry blew your socks off, wait until you meet Carson Stone.
The Dugout may be one of my favorite baseball romances. Carson is back after missing the draft due to an injury, but things just aren’t right with his swing. Enter Milly. She lives and breathes baseball. She always has. She knows how to help Carson, but will he listen to her?
Milly Potter. I have NEVER been more in love with a heroine. She isn’t like every other female. She is different, she is weird and she doesn’t mind hanging out with the guys. She is simple and super relatable. Milly is the kind of person I would want to be best friends with. She is sweet, hilarious ,smart and just pretty awesome. Carson Stone. I kind of expected him to be sort of a player and not super serious about anything but getting draft, which he was, but there was more to him. Carson had so many different layers and he was a pleasant surprise.
This story had everything. It had baseball, family, romance, swoon-worthy moments, laugh out loud moments, and moments where you wanted to knock some sense into Carson. I couldn’t put this down and loved every single thing about Carson and Milly’s story.
The Lineup:
If Jason Orson isn’t the ultimate book boyfriend, then I don’t know who is. Seriously, I thought Knox was fantastic, then Carson, but Jason. Well he just knocks it out of the park. Talk about a swoon worthy hero! The Lineup had me laughing from the very beginning and swooning over Jason. It also had me bawling my eyes out at times. It was the best kind of emotional rollercoaster.
Jason is sensitive, obnoxious, has no filter, sweet and a giant teddy bear. Plus, the man can cook. #BestDamnTatoSaladEver. Dottie is a BOSS, literally. She is hardworking and focused on her career. They went to college together; Dottie knew who Jason was. She even had a crush on him at the time. They run in the same circle of friends, however, never really spent time together.
Jason and Dottie’s chemistry was explosive. I LOVED every single thing about their relationship. Jason brought out a different side to Dottie that she had pushed away to focus on her career. There were so many sweet and adorable moments between the two of them.
Jason, Knox and Carson’s friendship is something that will just make you smile. Those three guys are hilarious together and are really like brothers to each other. Dottie is the same way with Emory, Milly and Lindsey. The entire crew is hilarious and will have you dying of laughter.
You may want to avoid reading this in a public place because I promise you will laugh out loud constantly.
Extended Epilogue:
This epilogue is perfection. It was perfect for all three of the couples and their friendship. I loved getting to see glimpses of them all in the futures to see where they are at and how they are doing. I was laughing so hard at times that I was crying, but I was also crying because this epilogue was emotional and heartbreaking. I’ve fallen in love with these characters and to see that there were struggles and heartache between one of my favorites I was shattered. If you’ve met Knox, Carson and Jason this extended epilogue is a one to check out!
Over all, this series is hilarious yet have those heartbreaking moments that pulls at your heart strings. The characters are all well developed. The stories keep you enthralled long after finishing the books.
The Locker Room: Ok Ladies, get ready to swoon! Knox is such an adorable, funny, and sometimes cocky little stinker you will totally fall in love with. Emory is a bit emotionally broken, and somewhat shy, but still has sass. Both are good hearted and kind people who are self-less, which is what causes the pivotal break-up between them. This book is primarily him perusing her and trying to make her his. (Oh and the things he does to win her over....) Because of her previous relationship, she is reluctant to get too close to another man again, so she fights him, but they do become good friends early on. It is a mostly fun and light-hearted book that will keep you laughing. The last 20% or so is where most of the darker emotions come into play. There is some heart breaking moments that will seriously have your heart hurting. The sexual tension is there. These are college aged kids, so there is lots of sex talk... and some action. ;) The side characters are unique and each bring a little something to the story. Especially Knox's mom! Love her! (And I hope we get to see more of them in the future.) Due to the language some sexual content, I would recommend this for readers 18+.
The Dugout: Another home run for this author. Carson is a college baseball star who, after some time off due to an injury, is having a hard time getting his mojo back. Enter Milly. She is a bit of a tomboy, who knows more about baseball than just about anyone (even the pro players.) After a few bad run-ins, he finally decides to see what she's got (in the form of training.) Of course things start getting warmer between the two from there on out. I love these characters. He is confident (yet not arrogant or cocky.) She has confidence in her abilities, but not so much when it comes to relationships. She has some low self-esteem and doesn't think she would be a guys type, especially a popular jocks, as she's always been seen as 'one of the guys.' She helps him with his game and he helps her with her confidence. Their backgrounds are so different, that after a devastating tragedy, it has devastating effects on their relationship. The side characters (some you may have met if you've read 'The Locker Room,' book one in the series (of stand-alones,)) bring much comedy to the book. They are all great. There is no 'mean girl' threatening them. No evil villains wrecking havoc. Any and all troubles they have are their own doing, but it's mostly all good times. (Well, except for that one thing.) There is the Grand Gesture. There are plenty of laughs throughout, and some really sweet moments. There is also some real heartbreaking scenes as well. There may be tears involved. A well written and beautiful story. Easy to read. Hard to put down. There is some sexual content. Alternates between POVs.
The Lineup: Laugh out loud hilarious! I'm not sure you are ready to meet Jason Orson. He is so over the top it's ridiculous! You may have gotten a glimpse of him if you've read The Locker Room or The Dugout, but nothing can prepare you for what's in store. He is a sensitive soul that has no shame. He isn't afraid to show some tears or get all touchy feeling with his emotions... even around the other guys. And his biggest pride and joy? His potato salad. Yup, you've read that right. Not his status as one of the best MLB catchers or even the high rating his hind end has with the public or THE infamous towel pic. Nope, it's his food making skills. He isn't lacking self confidence, he he does need his ego stroked often. It's all part of his charm. And poor poor Dottie. Won't know what she's gotten herself into. In this story you won't find the guy screwing things up, but the woman. Despite her high intense career, this take no prisoners woman is just as self conscious as the next girl when it comes to matters of the heart. And it nearly cost her everything. This book is a big game of cat and mouse. One pursuing the other until suddenly they flip roles. There is some sexual content (for mature readers only,) but it isn't what rules the story. It's a well written and thought out story filled with laughter the whole way through. Even during Mr. Sensitive's heart breaking moments, you'll find laughs. Of course the side characters bring some added comedy. Having said all that.... back off ladies (and gents.) Jason is all mine! :D
And last but not least... the extended epilogue. You will need kleenex. I'll leave it at that!
These guys know how to melt your heart, you’ll want to grab this box set and be ready for a ride... Knox, Carson, & Jason know how to give you all the feels. These boys will melt your heart. Grab it today!
The Locker Room ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Why did I wait so long to read this book again? I was seriously missing out! And you will be too if you don’t snag this hilariously sweet book up! I was roped in from the very beginning! I stayed up well past my bedtime just to read... I kept telling myself just one more chapter!
Emory and Knox are two characters that you wouldn’t normally think would be together if you’d pass them on the street, but the chemistry they have. Whew!! They start out as friends, while Emory works through her thoughts and feelings after getting out of a rough six year relationship. She has to find herself and doesn’t want to be a part of that coupledom. But that doesn’t deter Knox Gentry. Knox gets smacked in the face with this beautiful bombshell. He understands he has to take it at her pace but that doesn’t stop him from completely wowing her from the very beginning. We are talking serenading her, people! He pulls out all the stops! ;)
I found myself smiling so much throughout this book, that I looked like a crazy person! But I couldn’t help it, just the playful banter and sarcasm the two had with each other was just what I needed. With typical Meghan Quinn fashion, this book had the humor you adore, the heartache for the characters, and the outside of the box writing that builds the suspense of waiting, until you get the most perfect happily ever after! *happy sighs*
The Dugout ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story is one that everyone should read. Between the comical moments, the real moments, and the raw, emotional moments, The Dugout had everything. I especially felt the name of the book was so perfect for Milly & Carson’s story. *sighs*
Milly is one smart cookie... even if those cookies are mysteriously...uhh misplaced ;) Not only has Milly grown up with baseball, she’s basically lived and breathed it her entire life. Her three older brothers have learned much baseball knowledge from her and they are the sweetest brothers. They have her back through thick and thin. It’s utterly sweet to see. When Milly tells popular baseball star at Brentwood, Carson Stone, that he won’t hit a single ball with the way he’s currently moving, he’s not sure if he wants to take direction from another what he thinks is a “know it all”.
Of course Milly proves him wrong, and is able to help him correct his issues, but then they run into a bigger issue of their feelings for one another. I love how tentative and real Carson was. He went through some major stuff throughout the book, but he knew when to be humble and get down on his hypothetical knees and beg.
This book had the touch of MQ humor we all love, but like I said also felt real. I was emotionally connected to these characters. I can’t wait to see the rest of the books in the series. I know they’re going to be just as great... all these guys have a heart of gold... or maybe it’s just baseballs!
The Lineup ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am so glad I picked up this amazing, swoon worthy book! The comedy in and of itself in this book was fantastic. I had happy tears rolling down my face and cracking up with laughter! If you've read The Mother Road by MQ, you need to read this one. You'll laugh out loud all the same!
Don’t let the fact that Jason is a baseball player deter you, if you’re not into sports reads, because you need this book in your life! I've never been much into sports romance, but Meghan Quinn made me want more! Jason is such a quirky character that his antics have you laughing until you have your how abs! Gotta work for that bubble butt though! This book was such an easy read and exactly what I needed to make my heart happy.
Meghan Quinn knows how to give a Happily Ever After! Go grab this book and dive into Dottie & Jason’s story! You’ll thank me later! If you need me, I'll be going back to read the first several books of Jason's teammates!
I loved this hilarious and Swoony Sports Romance Boxset! I was laughing out loud too many times to count! I loved all the flirty banter and the slow burn sexual tension between all the characters in this fun collection.
~ The Locker Room Emory has transferred to Brentwood as a Junior after losing her identity in a cheating ex boyfriend. She is determined to have a fresh start and be the smart, independent woman she wants to be. The first meet cute between Emory and Knox is so hilarious and the second is just as good. Knox is so charming, sweet, and swoony! He is the captain of the Brentwood baseball team and is working toward his dream of playing in the pros. But this sexy, funny, librarian major has caught his attention, and he works so hard to get her to go on a date. But Emory is stubborn no matter how charmed she is by Knox. Their competitiveness was a challenge neither would back down on. Emory was a great character even tho she really frustrated me at times. I loved Knox and thought he was so swoony in how patient, kind, and romantic he was. I also loved all their friends who added so much fun and humor to this story as well. This story was made completely addictive by Rock Engle, and Felicity Monroe's amazing narration! They were superb as Knox and Emory as they brought the fun and flirty couple to life. I easily felt all the awkward moments, passion, heartbreak, joy, and love these characters felt. I loved both their deliveries as they made this hilarious, heartwarming, sweet and sexy story pure perfection!
~ The Dugout
Carson had suffered an injury and missed out on being drafted with his friends. Now he is trying to make a comeback in his senior year and is struggling. Who knew a quirky girl wearing a fisherman's hat could turn his game around and get him playing better than ever. Milly grew up with all brothers and baseball is in their blood. She has an eye for details and wants to help players be their best. When Carson gives her a chance she will do what it takes to help him get back in the game. They hit it off and their chemistry is explosive. Carson starts talking to Milly about their future together. But when tragedy strikes, Carson can't let anything distract him from his dreams. My heart broke for Carson and the guilt he felt. But Milly is a great heroine who is quirky, smart, and fun and is the perfect match for Carson. Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood did a great job narrating this delightful romcom and bringing it to life. They easily brought out all the different quirky personalities, nailing these characters, and making me feel all the fun, awkward, emotional, and steamy moments, making this story even better!
~ The Lineup I really loved Jason and Dottie's story! Dottie had a crush on Jason in college but never acted on it. Now years later she wins a date with him after accidentally donating to his charity. When he tries to set a date, she doesn't want to go thru with it. Jason is a relationship kind of guy and Dottie had been burned before so doesn't want to do that again. Jason is so swoony in so many ways from the way he worked so hard to break down Dottie's walls and making her fall for him, to his love of cooking, to his love of wearing coordinating outfits, and especially his dirty talk and how he dominates in the bedroom. Dottie puts up a strong front but she is really so fun and sweet. They are so good together and their chemistry is off the charts. This hilarious, sweet and steamy series was brought to life so beautifully by narrators, Stephen Dexter, and Maxine Mitchell. I love both their voices, along with their flawless comedic timing and dynamic voice changes. They made me laugh, cry, and fall in love. They completely pulled me in to this world and I felt like I was right there with Jason, Dottie, and their friends and family. I had so much fun listening to this hilarious and delightfully captivating romance!
An Outstanding RomCom Trifecta! Fabulous Listen🎧📚🎧 The Brentwood Boys By: Meghan Quinn Narrated by: Sebastian York, Savannah Peachwood, Stephen Dexter, Rock Engle, Felicity Monroe, Maxine Mitchell
Wow, what an awesome set of sports romance novels, each book is an enjoyable delight and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Meghan Quinn is gifted author, I loved the characters and storylines she created, her way with words and witty dialogue is absolutely brilliant. Each story contains a whole lot of heart and has the perfect balance of drama, humor and romance. This boxset is the first three books of The Brentwood Boys series, a great deal and opportunity to get all three books for the price of one and is awesome for people like myself who are late the the Brentwood Boys party or for those who want to revisit them. I recommend listening to the Audiobook, the lineup of mega talented narrators are fabulous storytellers and entertainment for your ears. The first book, “The Locker Room” is Emory Ealson & Knox Gentry’s story, it is narrated by Rock Engle & Felicity Monroe. Emory & Knox’s first encounter on campus is a memorable one and the instant Knox took interest in her. I loved these two together, she challenged him at first but the two were great together and for each other. I did not agree with the way she sacrificed her happiness but life has a funny way of making things right in the world. Their love story is one years in the making but one that was meant to be. The second book, “The Dugout” is Milly Potter and Carson Stone’s story, it is narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Sebastian York. Carson missed out on the baseball draft in his junior year because of an injury, he is struggling to make a comeback in his senior year, not hitting the balls and not sure why. Milly becomes his savior and a good friend, which morphs into more. She lifted his spirits and he lifted her belief in herself. But then Carson’s life forever changes and he winds up shutting everyone out and just focuses on baseball. It takes him time to come to his senses and see what he had with Milly and what he is missing in his life. The third, The Lineup” is Jason Orson and Dorothy “Dottie” Dominco’s story, it is narrated by Stephen Dexter & Maxine Mitchell. Jason, a Brentwood alumni is a major baseball player who is transferred back to a Chicago team, not the favored team, The Bobbies but the other team, The Rebels. He is just happy to be back home, near his friends Knox and Carson. Dottie is good friends with Emory and Lindsey, she was first introduced in Emory’s story, she had a crush on one of the Brentwood Boys but she never pursued it. Years later she gets her chance to meet him again but only does so after accidentally winning a date with him in a charity auction. Dottie is all about work and after being burned by a man she wants nothing to do with another one. She tried to cancel it but Jason would not have that and brings the date to her. The things that came out of Jason’s mouth was just hysterical. I loved how everything played out in each one of these books and one of the greatest things about the books are the characters, that said I think Jason was my favorite character. Meghan Quinn hit a home run with this series, she also casted the perfect narrators for each book. Thank you for these fabulously entertaining stories, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster rides. I am looking forward to checking out the rest of the series.
I was lucky enough to get the ALC of the 3-book audio collection of The Brentwood Boys by Meghan Quinn! The audios included are The Locker Room, The Dugout, and The Lineup. What’s better than a swoony laugh out loud sports romantic comedy? THREE of them!
Let’s first start with the friendships in this book. EPIC!!!! Honestly, the biggest thing I noticed with these books was the loyalty, love, and gratitude these friends have for each other. #FriendshipGoals The witty banter between them was nothing short of amazing! Each book is funnier than the last. There was a permanent smile etched onto my face as I listened to these stories. Meghan Quinn is a genius when it comes to writing romcoms. Her ability to write perfect HEA’s is exceptional and unique. Each relationship is built up to an undeniable connection. The chemistry is off the charts. The HEA’s are perfect for and devoted to each other. Meghan is a pro at writing the ultimate alpha male, and her romcom writing skills are exemplary. After careful deliberation I’ve decided that Jason wins the #BoyfriendGoals award. I mean, he has the perfect butt, is successful and hard working with a heart of gold, is a Dom in the bedroom, is romantic and doting, and can cook. He’s Martha Stuart with a giant penis. It just doesn’t get any better than that! This is without a doubt, the funniest romcom series I’ve ever listened to! Thank you to Piece of Cake Audiobooks for gifting me this flawless audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Oh, and Meghan, if I don’t get a book about Walker, I will legit scream! ✓ HOT baseball pants ✓ College Crushes ✓ Slow Burns with an EXTREMELY hot endings ✓ Baseball players with all the ALPHA swoon ✓ Romantic Comedy that will melt your heart
As far as the narration: I feel like Piece of Cake Audiobooks and Meghan Quinn said, “I can’t decide between these 6 amazing narrators, so let’s choose them all!” I swear whenever I see an email from Piece of Cake my heart skips a beat because I know I’m about to listen to the most incredible story from the best narrators ever. Hey Dana, would you like an audiobook in exchange for an honest review? Um, so much yes, please and thank you!
Each book features a different couple, performed by a different male and female narrator. I use the word “performed” because these books weren’t just narrated. The characters were brought to life by each of the narrators. They expertly embodied their characters to give us the most emotionally connected story telling experience. Their tone, pitch, pace, timing, everything was absolute perfection. They made me swoon and laugh out loud. If you aren’t listening to the audio versions of these stories then you’re missing out!

The Locker Room gives you so many feelings as you read. Beautiful friends, brilliant banter and hot baseball players. The way this story is told is definitely an epic one. Yes there are certain moments you wonder what will happen. However the wonderful friendships formed in the book is truly amazing and causes you to ask yourself, do you have relationships like those in your own life?? Knox Gentry is the most amazing man, he's so honest, he's charming and so swoonworthy, especially in regards to Emory! I really loved this whole book from beginning to end! The characters are brutally honest, full of heart and just trying to get through their every day life whilst also trying to deal with their emotions! My emotions are all over the place as I finished and I honestly don't know what to do now. An epically beautiful love story that stands the test of time!!
The Dugout:
Where do I even begin to do this amazing, absolutely heartwarming but also heartbreaking book justice?? Hands down the best book of 2019!! The Dugout is one book you just HAVE TO READ. At certain parts I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face and couldn't see the words in front of me. Then another time I was crying because I was heartbroken. Absolutely devastated. Everything the characters said, did, the banter with their family and friends just made this book affect me so very much. Ms Quinn has outdone herself, its definitely her best book to date and if this one is anything to go by, I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next!! Carson and Milly are a match made in romantic comedy heaven. I kid you not. I could NOT put this book down. My attention was glued to the pages and I felt, no, I wished I could be a part of the story. A part of the beautiful friendships and family connections that surround them. Brillant work! Just brilliant!
The Lineup:
Outstanding romantic comedy! So much witty banter, great characters and a storyline that will hook your attention! Jason Orson is something else entirely! Sensitive, incredibly funny as well as hot but also deep down a really beautiful caring man! When he opens his mouth the funniest things come out and the way he riles Dottie up is hilarious! It's amazing to see how they really get along despite some tension??! Or do they? Seriously this book was the BEST Rom Com! I laughed so hard I had tears, I was smiling so much while reading and when there was some sad parts, definitely shed some tears! This is a definite must 1-click and my favourite of the series! The author should be incredibly proud of what beautiful wordsshe has written! I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next!
NOTE: This rating is specifically for the extended epilogue at the very end of the box set! I have previously rated each individual book.
The extended epilogue was almost everything I could’ve hoped it would be! It was amazing getting snippets from each OTP from the first 3 Brentwood Baseball series and I loved seeing how they’re doing! I really appreciate the main story arc Meghan put the characters through. It hit very close to home for me and having that representative made me seen. This extended epilogue is a wonderful little addition to the series and I hope she does another one eventually for some of the other characters we know and love — but then again I’ll probably always want more content because I just love them all so much!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! BASEBALL IS MY JAM!!! MY READING KRYPTONITE!! AND I can NEVER get enough of these Brentwood Baseball Boys!!
The Locker Room might have jump started my love for Meghan Quinn's Brentwood Baseball series but Meghan's ability to write sexy baseball players with the most unique, strong and determined women is what's kept me in love with this series for each book since!!!
Knox & Emory Carson & Milly Jason & Dottie Don't ask me to pick a favorite! In my head I have a go to couple that I love so much and soak up every bit of them. But seriously, it's so difficult to pick a favorite from this series!
The heroes & heroines of this entire series will have you in lust, love, tears and rolling with laughter!
Each book in this bundle deserves its own rating… *some were better than others* The Locker Room 4.5/5 - Knox and Emory absolutely yes! Despite the unnecessarily long separation…this book was great! The Dug Out 5/5 - Carson and Millie were my favorite hands down!!! Did they have e annoying flaws…yes. But what characters don’t? They were just so freakin cute! The Line Up 3/5 - Jason and Dottie… 😮💨. Dottie is too neurotic and uptight. Jason is…just too much. He could have been great but needs to come down a notch. Dottie was just the worst all around.
This is the perfect book for anyone who loves a good rom-com, sports story and even better if you love both! I don’t know if there’s anything not to love about Knox, Carson and Jason! Their characters are so different from each other yet they make the best of friends. This book has SO many laughs (including some big belly ones!), tears, heartfelt moments and so much more! And don’t get me started on how awesome their girls are and how perfect for them they are!
33 hours of hot Baseball players? Yes, please! I absolutely loved all three stories. But The Lineup & Jason/Dottie were my absolute fav. All star narration by Sebastian York, Savannah Peachwood, Stephen Dexter, Rock Engle, Felicity Monroe, & Maxine Mitchell.
Nobody writes baseball boys better than Meghan Quinn. There is some of the greatest banter, feels and chemistry in the 3 books of this set. The storylines are unique and the characters will stay with you for a long time.
Gah...I adore these Brentwood Boys so much! This amazing collection of The Locker Room, The Dugout, and The Lineup is just what my heart needed to make me feel super happy and fall in love with a baseball romance! Meghan Quinn is a fabulous writer, and these three books bring just the right amount love, humor, angst and steam! I just swooned all over again with Knox, Carson, and Jason, and of course their lovely ladies!
The narrators in this collection are spectacular! Rock Engle (Knox), Felicity Munroe (Emory), Sebastian York (Carson), Savannah Peachwood (Milly), Stephen Dexter(Jason), and Maxine Mitchell (Dottie) give so much life and personality to these well written characters. With each performance, I found myself laughing, swooning, and my heart aching just a bit which made this listening experience completely worthwhile. Prepare yourself to be completely captivated and hooked with over 30 hours of the Towel Brigade!
If you haven't met the OG Brentwood boys, then I recommend this audio box set. If you have, then this is an amazing three book collection that you'll want to add to your audio library! I seriously love this series so much!
Even though I have read the ebooks for this series and own the paperbacks I had to listen in audio too because this series is one I will keep going back to! Over 33 hours of listening is included and it introduced me to some new to me narrators too!
The Locker Room, The Dug Out and The Line Up are three baseball romances set around players on the same team. They are full of humour, angst, steam and so much romance. Listening to them in audio after reading them previously just breathed a whole new life into all three of these books. The narrators all did an amazing job and I can't fault any of their performances. Meghan Quinn fans old, new or people thinking of trying her work I whole heartedly recommend trying this box set. The audio does not include the extended epilogue that the ebook version of this boxset includes unfortunately, so I will grab the ebook version to read that at some point in the near future. If you are craving a sports romance that won't fail to entertain you then this is the audiobook you need.
Knox and Emory have quite the story in "The Locker Room." Their HEA isn't an easy one but I enjoyed every minute of their story wonderfully narrated by Rock Engle & Felicity Monroe!
Carson & Milly have to fight for their happy ending in "The Dugout" wonderfully narrated by Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood. This story will have you laughing, swoony, then crying!
"The Lineup" narrated by Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell gives us Jason & Dottie's story, and will have you fanning yourself and screaming at the book, too! Dottie is a boss babe with a secret crush on Jason. Hello angst and slow burn! Sit back and enjoy the bumpy ride, cuz the Brentwood Boys are coming for you!
Three fantastic stories and bonus catch up Epilouge? Yes please!!
I don’t usually gravitate toward sports romances, but after reading a few of Meghan Quinn’s teacher books where some of the Brentwood Boys make an appearance, I knew I had to read them. And man oh man, I love them now! All of these fantastic stories in one purchase!? Don’t even hesitate! It’s worth it!
The ending Epilouge catches up with the three couples and is a great bonus to where things continued with them. In true Meghan Quinn fashion she makes your heart hurt a little, but totally redeems herself! I loved the bonus insight.
The Locker Room This story had so much humor. Laugh out loud funny. I love the way Meghan Quinn writes her men, and their friendships. This felt like I was hanging out with my college buddies again. There are so many little things in this story that come full circle and stay as running jokes and themes. I loved this. This story is fantastic, but be prepared to work though the hard stuff. Let me tell you, this one gutted me. It was heartbreaking. I could feel their hurt. One thing I appreciated in this story was the hurt wasn’t glossed over or belittled. It was addressed and argued about. It wasn’t a quick discussion and quick resolution. This felt real. As hard as parts were, it was worth it and worth the wait. It made the ending so much better. Their kind of love, that lasting love, was powerful. My heart feels full!
The Dugout Carson is a hero that had a lot of great things come to him, but he also worked really hard to get those things and had to endure some rough times. He was such a good contemporary romance Hero. I loved Milly Potter. She was the best shy girl, breaking out of her shell to get what she wants. I loved her baseball confidence and how much Carson respected that. Carson falling for Milly was so sweet, gooey, perfect. I loved him. I loved them. This book really focused on the game, it’s development, it’s coaching, the processes, the connections. To have a relationship between a couple be built on that love of a sport was pretty cool stuff. Meghan really makes her couples work for the HEA. Wow, this one was rough, but really beautiful. The time, healing, forgiveness on multiple fronts, growth, and love were all needed to achieve the ending in the story. I feel a bit book hungover and a bit whole at the end of this one! I really loved this story.
The Lineup Jason Orson is ridiculous. He’s almost too much, but in the best possible way. I feel like Meghan Quinn said, how far can I take this? He is so hilarious it’s laugh out loud funny. I loved the contrast between Jason and the heroine Dottie who was serious, driven, and buttoned up. I loved that personality traits she found offputting in herself were seen as good qualities in Jason’s eyes. Jason is so sensitive and lovable, in addition to being crazy as heck, that when things fall apart it is easy to be team Jason. However, in true Meghan Quinn fashion she makes you understand from both points of view. The tension during the angsty part, and struggles, was really good in their story. Both characters had to look at themselves and figure out what really mattered. This story was so so good!!
The Brentwood Boys is a collection of baseball romances that follow three baseball players while they go through college baseball careers and move on to the professional level all well continuing to remain friends. There is everything from enemies to lovers to opposites attract. There is humour, friendship, baseball, and a lot of food. I enjoyed the continued friendship that continued throughout all three of the books. The Dugout was my favourite out of all of the books. The Locker Room … Knox is one of the most popular baseball players on campus. Emory has transferred to Brentwood. While trying to find her way around the campus her map flies out of her hands and smacks Knox in the face. Remembering him from a campus party, she is embarrassed and just wants to getaway. Emory has had her heartbroken and has trust issues that Knox is going to have to work hard to get her to trust him and give him a chance. The Dugout … Carson is struggling to get his groove back after an injury his junior year sidelined him. Milly is a shy and awkward kinesiology major that they all call The Baseball Whisperer. Carson runs into Milly, apologizes to her for their initial interactions and begs her to help him get his swing back. Milly agrees to help him and they grow a great friendship. When Carson's world is turned upside down, Milly is not willing to lose the connection that they have created. The Lineup … Everything started with a mistake. When Dottie's assistant accidentally donated a large sum of money to Jason's charity, she wins a date with him that she ends up cancelling. Jason pursues Dottie to get her to go on a date with him but she keeps closing off to him. When she gets into a bind, she claims that she has a boyfriend and uses Jason's name. When Dottie turns everything around on Jason he is not sure what to do. Audio … All of the narrators did a good job giving their respective stories and character's life. *advanced copy requested and honestly reviewed on behalf of Canadian Girl Book Blog* Follow Me / Blog * Facebook * Instagram * Twitter * TikTok
This boxed set was perfect for me. I’d read The Locker Room a while ago, but when the boxed set came out I picked it up right away. I picked up the audio and absolutely loved it and then switched over to the ebook for the extended epilogue. The extended epilogue had all the adorable friendship moments between these couples and it also made me tear up. I loved it!!!
Below are my individual reviews of each book:
The Locker Room - 5 stars
Ok, so, I went into this book sorta like, “oh look, cute, funny NA.” It wasn’t what I’m used to from Meghan Quinn but I was absolutely loving it. Knox is an absolute sweetheart and I couldn’t get enough of him. I loved watching Em and Knox at college. They had such a fun relationship and the sexual tension was perfection.
Of course, about 80% in, I was hit with that classic Meghan Quinn trickery. I should expect anything from her about what she put me through with Colby last year, but I wasn’t ready for this. As I watched the time go by I was just like, “wait, wait, wait... what’s going to happen?”
That last 20% really put my emotions through the ringer but the pay off was definitely worth it. I’m freaking obsessed with this book and 1000% recommend you read it right now!
The Dugout - 4.5 stars
How dare you Meghan Quinn? How dare you play with my heart like this. It’s sad I’m still surprised whenever you break my heart.
I love Carson and Milly so freaking much!! I was just happily and naively moving through their story that I failed to see the break coming. I loved how their relationship came about and what it developed into.
I don’t really want to get too spoilery here, but, I just want to say that Carson broke my heart in this book, but he also worked hard to put it back together, so I forgive him.
This might be my new favorite book in this series. But, this book definitely softened the soft spot I already have for Knox. Also, I want more from Milly’s family. I loved her brothers!!!
The Lineup - 5 stars
Jason Orson is the most ridiculous/adorable hero. I am obsessed with him. He cooks and is famous for his behind and his towel pic; I definitely wouldn’t mind getting me a Jason. He’s such a clown around his friends and while he’s definitely over the top I’m still just completely in love with him.
I also love Dottie, she’s serious and closed off but they balance each other so well. I loved watching them open up to each other and build this relationship while she was so reluctant and he was so over eager to make them happen.
I flew through this book and can’t wait to keep reading the series!
Book one. God I loved it until the drama …. It went on and on and on. Knox was such an amazing boyfriend and Emory was an amazing girlfriend – they had such an amazing relationship – it was fun, it was sexy (in their way – ha). The unnecessary super long drawn out drama made my heart hurt - and then it just wrapped up. I’m really hoping this isn’t the trend. Drama doesn’t have to be so long and drawn out to make a good book. There was a huge gap in time before they are reunited. If that is an issue for you - this isn't for you. (I wish I had known - I wouldn't have read it). This book would have been a 5 star for me if it wasn't for the heart wrenching separation for no need and then quick ending. I do have to say that reading book three gives insight into the characters in this book, but not enough to make up for what they lost. I just don’t like what she did here.
Book two - I read reviews on book 2 after what happened with book 1 with the long drawn-out separation of the main characters and the reviews indicated that this book follows the same process. So, I skipped it! Didn't look back ha!
Book three. I read the reviews on book 3 before reading it - and one review came right out and said - this does not follow the same long separation as the other two - so I took a chance. Jason is so funny. There is a scene with a Bear that I was literally crying I was laughing so hard – he is just hilarious – and I don’t actually think he means to be funny sometimes – which makes him that much more funny. Dottie had her issues – but she was cool also. Book one and three don’t really compare it’s not apples to apples – Book one is a college romance – book three is like 10 years later. That being said, as much as a loved the characters I wasn’t in love with it as a whole. It was such a slow burn – and then “bomb” the stuff just blows up – and then like 20 minutes before it was over and maybe 5 minutes before the epilogue (I listened in audible) – they make up and it’s over. When the relationship take sooo long to build, I feel like it should have equal time to bloom before you throw dynamite into the mix. For that reason – I would give this one 3 stars as well – for totally different reasons than the first – but even with the love of the characters, the short period of happiness isn’t worth the rest of the book to me.
