Everly Clarke is a loner, a title she very much enjoys. Two years of being on her own means two years of avoiding any further disappointment from her failed marriage. Two years of only relying on herself. The reading of her estranged husband's Will is the final closure she needs to move on.
Until the day finally arrives.
Coming home to find her house burglarized and trashed was terrible enough. Suddenly having her husband's former bodyguard show up on her doorstep makes it worse. The bossy Englishman either doesn't understand her desire to be alone...or doesn't care. Even with muscles galore and an accent that definitely ramps her attraction up another notch, admiring him from a distance is where it ends. It's not that she doesn't want help. She just doesn't want his help.
Until the bad guys return...or her.
The first of Family Ties Series, Entangled Past is a romantic suspense story full of sarcastic humor and, of course, romance.
Found i still had this one in my library, and since i managed to finish,i’m leaving a review. It’s not a deep or emotionally hard story, but it entertained me enough to keep reading. The plot wasn’t difficult to figure out,but Everly and Finnian were cute together. He’s determined to protect her from the bad guys, she’s determined to keep her distance. Both fail at some point, but the bad guys get what’s coming and Everly and Finnian get what they need…
I really wanted to love this book. It had great reviews, but I started to hate the FMC half way through. Though the story line was good enough to keep me interested. I like strong willed women who may, like to be bossed around in bed. But the opposite was true, for this book. Overall it was interesting, but I called the out come when I started to dislike the FMC. Unfortunately I was right.
Excellent recipe for romance, action and unforgettable characters. This unique story about totally different people who are thrown together by circumstances surrounding them was a charming and intriguing drama. The author created a truly memorable story that will inspire you to keep reading this series.
Brilliant story and thoroughly enjoyable. I loved each character and the story and motives were well executed. Tripp played a brilliantly devious part and Evelyn really came out of her shell. I just wish she'd fired 2nd not third, lol. If anything, being English and having certain things said by an English man is amusing. Like the code being the wrong way round, etc.
This story was interesting from beginning to end. Finnian and Everly are great characters. Finnian was a refreshing and Everly so meek turn into a strong woman. I rarely give a book 4 stars, but I did give this story 4 because it was something you could not put down you just had to find out what happened next.
Loved getting absorbed in the main characters lives and the continuing story in the "Family Ties" series. This highly entertaining, wonderfully intriguing, and expectedly unexpected story with another new mystery to be solved. Great read!
I really enjoyed the depth of the characters and the way they grew and developed along with the story. There's some hot spices, bits of action, and loads of suspense to keep your interest from cover to cover. It's a fun ride.
It was OK. I liked the male characters Everly not so much. The writing I thought was good, could probably had some improvement to the storyline though.
This story has danger, suspence,, and keeps you sitting on the edge of you seat until the very last page, looking forward to reading more books from this author
This novel had it all suspense, love, and action all rolled into a neat little package. You don't want to miss Finnian and Everly's story. Protection turns to Love.
At 40%, I was on the verge of DNF due to irritatingly weak h and an implausible insta attraction and plot. I bit through anyway: the writing got slightly better, yet still not worth it.
I started this book many months ago and didn't finish it. Glad I decided to try again--it was interesting and had strong characters/plot. I rate this book a 4.7.
