Adventurers aren't born in a day, they're forged in the trials of the Mage Tower.
I never got used to my father’s oppressive rule in the Underworld. That’s why I decided to escape my fate as the future Demon Lord and reincarnate into the realm of Ria.
My plan? As Luc Vale, the mortal mage, I’ll live out a real life and become an adventurer.
But first, I must master this world’s new magic at the Tower Guild Academy. After forming a party with a gorgeous and clumsy woman, I learned that being human is nothing like I imagined.
Not only is my new smelly body weaker than I’m used to, I’ve also discovered the… distractions of carnal pleasure. All is going according to plan until a danger emerges that threatens all of Ria. I should be strong enough to vanquish the Tower’s dark secret.
As long as no one discovers who I truly am. ~If you like light-hearted romance, quirky humor, and a dash of adventure, this story is for you.
Great for anime weebs who enjoy shows like How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord.
(Contains unconventional relationships and adult situations.)
Fantasy alternate universe harem Luc Vale is THE Demon Prince, the ruler of a demon plane, and he's bored, and he wants to do things on his own for a while -- experience life on his own a what is like to be mortal. More, learn how to master another type of magic, join an adventurer group, and have some fun.
This was a bit slower than expected in drawing me into the story, but draw me in, it did. There's more to Ria, the human and demi-human world, at first glance, and more to the Underworld, too. Luc's reactions help make this an engaging novel. The sex is sparse and implied more than graphic; the characters engaging and fun. Want book 2 soon! Recommended.
This story was very enjoyable for me. The main character used to be a demon Lord but wanted his freedom so he left the demon realm. And in doing so he became human, well sort of, mostly? He is not totally familiar with the human condition and makes a few false assumptions here and there but that is part of the fun. He becomes an adventurer enjoys the mage Tower where it's kind of like a dungeon that has multiple floors. He meets two people who join his party and learn in school along with him to become adventures. The main character has snarky humor and for me it was very hilarious at times. He knows how the bad guys think and uses that knowledge against them. And surprisingly he has a soft spot in his heart that he didn't know he had and had no idea what the softer emotions are since he did not have them in the demon world. I had an enjoyable and entertaining time reading about his antics and those are supporting characters around him. I really like their different personalities and the way they are developing and the way this book ends is satisfactory and also leaves a lot more story to go. I for one can't wait for the next book to come out it was a very enjoyable for me and I enjoyed reading how a demon Lord turned humanish comes to understand The human condition.
Wasn't expecting too much when I went into it, but was surprised at how quickly the MC's journey from the Prince of the Underworld to being a mortal of the human world caught my attention. The author doesn't rely on making the the MC overpowered, nor does he rush the relationships.
I was impressed and enjoyed the explanations of how light mana was different than dark mana and the overall detail placed on the MC's struggle in learning it.
The two main relationships feel natural enough and while satisfying, didn't water down the rest of the plot like some others in this genre tend to do. I think the last star could have been earned if the book had been longer and more individuality had been given to the supporting characters.
That said I hope the story continues and will look forward to reading more from the author as he seems to do a good job at including all the best parts of the genre while not spending too much or too little attention on the natural evolution of the characters within the story.
Escaping from the Underworld, young demon prince Luc has plans to experience life as an adventurer. He soon meets up with a young healer on her way to the academy to get her license as an adventurer. They form a team to pass the test to enter the academy, mostly to protect his healer Clove. They develope a bond as she teaches him about magic and life in the city.
Soon his plans to experience life in the mortal realm hit a snag as he discovers that the dungeon tower at the academy is out of balance and forming portals to the Underworld, allowing demons through the void between realms. What's a demon prince to protect his friends and the city from his fellow demons? What else, fight!
This feels like a Japanese isekai story, but the MC is not from Earth but from a Demon realm connected to the planet he is now on. A fairly typical fish out of water but being the immortal Demon Prince now turned mortal human he needs to learn new powers and forge his own future while hiding from his father. This is not really a spoiler as you get this information in the first two chapters, but the rest of the story is for you to read. Good luck.
An Americanized beta-MC troupe novel of JP Lineage
HATE HATE HATE HATE This was idiotic story of a totally rip-off of OP beta-male with no common sense that is over used in JP light novels. The story has dozens of Continuity errors(ex. At ch.2 there’s a part that mentions using a scrying mirror to find info that world but in ch.1 he didn’t even know what world he was going to till the VOID sent him) and his no attempt to hid his abilities or apprence from demons that might inform his dad was completely dumb.
Really enjoyed this book! Its got a good story, solid characters, a MC that isn't a total idiot that won't act on his feelings for his ladys . All in all I definitely recommend this one if your a fan of overpowered mains that aren't stupid and are ready to do what is needed to protect himself and those he cares about! Can't wait for the next installment!
It started with a lot of action and never let up. We have a demon Prince who doesn’t want to spend eternity fighting demons in hell. So he escapes from hell into the world of Ria, blackmails the corrupt mayor into giving him identification and stumbles upon an adventurer who needs all the help in the world who just also happens to be super cute. Awesome adventures then ensure - I can’t wait for book 2
Good editing, interesting plot. MC reasons to leave were a little light but made sense. Was powerful but not completely OP. Supporting characters weren't cardboard, though they could use more fleshing out. Hopefully they'll all continue to develop in the next book. Oh, and the smut was alright. Not OMG but not laughable either, a nice little bonus not something the story centered on. Looking forward to the next book
After the Demon Prince leaves his realm of darkness to begin a quiet life as a mage in the realm of mortals, he finds more suprises than he is prepared for. He ends up with two beautiful and smart women that would die for, something he would never have done in the 2+ centuries in the underworld. Fun fights and challenges to be overcome.
This book might just be the best thing I've read this year. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. The story and characters were intriguing and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth the time to read.
So you're a two hundred year old demon. What do you do for fun. Become mortal, stumble upon a sexy pink haired healer and apply to a mage Academy. What could possibly go wrong. Everything! Welcome to the new wonderful life of Luc, Clove, and Jam. Let the monsters know their time is up.
Luc is the crown prince of the underworld. However, he wants his freedom from the rules of his father. So, he reincarnates himself as a human in the world of light. Coming to terms with the differences in the rehlms makes for interesting humor. I like the action, humor, and romance. I look forward to the next book.
Borrowed this on a whim while waiting for other series to continue, it's good, the ending is satisfying, nothing too out of the ordinary. It's not trashy and doesn't put on airs. If this has popped up for you or you're considering it just go ahead and read it, it's worth the time. Solid book overall, I'll be following the series now.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Filled with interesting, amusing and colourful characters, it's definitely a quirky and enjoyable read. Definitely looking forward to more!
I really enjoyed this book, I wasn’t sure going into it but it was funny, the action was good and I actually liked the flirty budding romance in it. Defiantly going onto my favorites list
It is not complex. The characters are simple. The overall story is basic. This is just written extremely well, it is comedic, it flows well and the storytelling is too notch. This is a grand start.
This was truly a fantastic bit of literature, a great blend of wholesome and saucy, with incredible characters and a fantastic premise! I cannot wait for the next one!
I loved the book it's definitely worth the read and decently written loving the characters and there growth . This has some elements that how not to summon a demon Lord won't get into worth the read.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, it’s a great fantasy book combined with reincarnation, and portal fantasy with a dash of wit. I like that the harem aspects are very toned down, allowing non harem fans to also enjoy the novel
This was a surprisingly good read. I was worried it would be to anime like and frustrating, but it was actually a really refreshing story. I will definitely be reading the next book.
The first book had a good setup. The character is powerful but not OP and knows his limitations. I can be entertained without being bored by him walking through every challenge.
I really dig this light hearted adult fantasy style! Fun, adult situations, yet enough suspense to keep me turning pages. Well written character interactions. And quite a unique story. On to book 2!
It must be hard to write a good story? Whoever this writer is failed big time or I should say he or she belongs on Kindle because that is the only reason this crap was published
I had this book sampled for a while before I found it on sale. I am happy I tried it, it was better than expected. The magic system is interesting and the character interactions are great. Will look into getting the next book
This was my first novel by this author and I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the writing was. The story flowed and the characters grew in an organic way. Hope to read more of this fun world.
Although it's shorter than most books I've read the story and the flow is on point it dosent involve much needless banter between characters and managed to keep my attention
If you like fluffy easy reading, this is your book. Decent characters, decent intimacy, nothing to too out of line. But also not a super developed threat or major stakes so far. Lets see what the next book offers.
