Invaluable!!! Although this book is 7 years old, there are some VERY useful information within this book to give you a very good base to start from on optimizing your memory. From there you could update your knowledge by going to the National Institute of Health website, various reputable medical journals, the American Academy of Neurology, and various other journals, websites, and institutions.

This book, ghost written by Susan Gilbert is a technical overview of memory mechanics. The specific descriptions of types of memory helped me understand how they work. I appreciated the scientific references to the processes and tips to activate when my memory fails with aging. Having met the Nelson at a Learning and the Brain conference, I appreciated his presentation and perspectives on brain health.

Worst part about reading this book? I've already forgotten it. But really, it has good information in an easy to read style.

The guide, examination and suggested contravention for memory loss substantially caters to memory loss caused by aging, but that is not to say that it can't be applied as a remedy to memory loss triggered by differing stimuli.

Far less accessible than Richard Restak's Think Smart. Very conventional read.
