Jade is the avatar. Snatched from her home she is imprisoned in the remote Castle of Demons and forced to become the reluctant heroine of a computer game. Entrapped in a world of virtual reality she engages in a deadly battle with killer rats and dogs, and the even more deadly humans that she encounters in her travels through cyberspace.
Paul Bryers is the author of many fine novels, the most recent of which is THE PRAYER OF THE BONE. He is a TV and film director when he is not writing and he lives in London.
She is too young for all this shit to happen to her. There can be so much more happening with the septegram and the children and it was lost to Jade’s whining and what not. Can have a really epic conclusion in another book and all the fights are anti climatic. You can barely imagine what is going let alone understand. Many spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in the book itself. Again. Has so much potential for the route of the 7 children and the last one and all of them coming from an element or from angels themselves, but it was left open

An interesting follow up to Kobal, the first book in the Mysteries of the Septagram. Jade learns more about her powers and more about the mysterious Kobal. The book is a very easy read, perfect for the 11 to 13 year old demographic. The story is novel and engaging without being too complex and the writing style lends itself well to the narrative.
Some good ideas, I particularly liked the idea of the seven children and the 'child of forest' etc element but it seemed unfinished (trying for a series) and didn't capitalise as much on its potential as it could have.
