What the hell is with the ending from this series the ducking cliffhanger in this one. I love Rebel and Pru they are just amazing and total perfect for each other. Can't wait to read the next book. This series just keeps getting better and better.
What a cute story, loved Prudence and Rebel as a couple, she was just what he needed. Call it fate or destiny, Rebel and Prudence's chance meeting was meant to be they never knew it but, they were just what each other required At that moment in time.
We have to say that we loved the cast of characters but, the old ladies were the bomb, and Morgan and Prudence would fit right in.
Overall, we enjoyed the story with the ongoing plot. Pru and Rebel were the perfect couple, as Pru was a sweetheart through and through. I loved that Pru somehow sensed that Rebel required her presence in his troubled time, and she was there for him without even really knowing him at first, we loved that about her the most she trusted him even when he was at his worst.
The story was filled with a ton of emotion and a bit of mystery and suspense and some emotional healing and sometimes love comes along and is just the cure needed and in Rebel's case, he ended up being one lucky bastard!
Rebel's grief over losing his best friend and club brother, Tank is consuming him. He's at a point where he's pulled away from the club, is drinking through his grief and really doesn't want to live anymore. All that slowly begins to change when he passes out in Pru's bush, in her yard. OMG the humor surrounding the bush was hilarious. Pru was just your average woman, teaching sophomore high school until she finds a biker passed out in her yard. She can see the pain that's haunting Rebel but it's not until she finds him sitting at Tank's graveside that he opens up and that moment.....so heartbreaking. Rebel realized that he had found his old lady in Pru and didn't have any problem staking his claim.
I feel that Winter handled the stages of grief perfectly. Like I said that graveside scene with Rebel and Pru broke my heart and you could just feel that Rebel was truly drowning in his grief. Now, it was not all sadness because, after all, this is a Winter Travers book! You have the other old ladies and their hilarity (especially the damn Dirty Dancing scene) plus the guys when they deal with Pru's weirdo co-worker. Omg the promise Pru made Rebel give her about not talking with his fists and then the guys discussing it while dealing with Paul was so funny! I think Rebel just passed Monk as my favorite in this series. 💜
Rebel by Winter Travers is book 4 in the Royal Bastards MC: Sacramento. This is the story of Rebel and Prudence 'Pru'. I have read the previous books which did add to my enjoyment of this one. Rebel was a prospect who has worked his way in to the MC and had a true friend in Tank. But Tank was killed and that has put Rebel in a downward spiral with drinking and just not caring about anything anymore. One day he is waken up in the yard of a unknown women who he seems drawn too. Pru is a school teacher and finds herself in a unknown situation when a bike is her her bushes...the lawn type. Rebel ends up going back because of how he feels something when around Pru and they seem to start to bond over their grief. This was such a good book. I highly recommend it and long with this series.
Rebel was the fourth book in the Royal Bastards MC: Sacramento series by Winter Travers. Each book in the series builds on each other and should be read in order for full enjoyment.
Rebel picked up where the last book, Monk, left off. Rebel was reeling was from tragedy and couldn’t bear to get up each day. He also couldn’t bear to go back to the MC yet. He drowned himself everyday in liquor, the only way he knew to cope. One morning he found himself passed out in the front yard of a stranger. They couldn’t have been more opposite. Prudence was a high school English teacher and had no idea what to do with a drunk biker sprawled in her bushes.
Travers took us through Rebel’s grief while introducing us to Prudence. Travers simultaneously secondarily continued the MC conflict that has run through every book so far. The conflict didn’t end and will continue throughout the series. Travers did create some additional drama with Prudence while bringing her into the MC fold. The long awaited Barracuda is up next and I totally can’t wait!
It can be rare to fall completely and hopelessly, immediately deep in love with the main characters. You usually need to get to know them a little bit, live in their heads for a moment or five. Not with Winter Travers' Royal Bastards! I was in deep with Rebel and Pru from the get go, filled me with euphoria. Rebel is so lost without his brother. He doesn't know how to get through his grief and his hard feelings towards the club. Pru saves him from that, saves him from spiraling out of control. I just absolutely love the sweet and easy romance that explodes between them. I have been a fan of Ms Travers for quite some time and hands down her chapter of the Royal Bastards is my all time favorite books by her! All the stars for Rebel and Pru!
OMFG how good is Rebel and Prudence story. So much excitement and action. When get so much from this story that involves the whole club and what has been goin on with them. Then in true Winter Travers style we are all shouting NO when we read the ending. I love everything this fabulous lady writes. 5 STARS
Okay, let's go. Loved Rebel. Loved Prudence. Absolutely loved the connection between these two. The witty banter, the sexiness. The darkness of grief yet the sweetness of support. Brilliant seeing the rest of the club, seeing the brotherhood. Yet again a wicked good book.
This is the fourth book in this series. This book is part of the Royal Bastards MC world. Rebel is dealing with the death of his best friend. They let a woman come between them and then his friend was killed. Rebel feels guilty and angry. Angry at his prez for leaving them hanging. Prudence finds a man passed out in her bushes. Then she realizes he is a biker. Rebel finds himself being drawn back to Pru. There is just something about her. But when she wants to know more about him and asks questions, he doesn’t want to answer he must decide if she is worth it. When she finds him at Tank’s grave things change for them. She just wants to be there for him. She lets him be himself. Rebel is done running especially when he realizes someone is after Pru. They have an idea about who it is but there is a chance it is someone else. Are they right about who is after Pru? Will be a talk be enough or will the person double down? This book was a fun read. I laughed so much. Pru is witty and Rebel just rolls with it. She helps him grieve his friend and find a way to move forward. Rebel is trying to figure out how to move forward with the club and deal with how he feels. I loved this book so much. I can’t wait to read more books in this series. Winter is a fantastic author.
Rebel is a member of the Sacramento RBMC. He has always been 100% Club. They gave him a home, family and purpose when he needed it. He became a prospect and eventually a full patch with Tank. A man who became his best friend and partner in everything “Club Business”. That is up until Menice, a man with a vendetta with the RBMC, killed Tank. Now Rebel is lost. He doesn’t know how to move forward. He hasn’t set foot back in the clubhouse and spends the hours drunk, trying to forget. But one morning, after a long drunken night at Tank’s grave, Rebel wakes up in the bushes at an unknown home. He quickly learns the home belongs to Pur, a quirky girl who doesn’t know what to do with the sexy, hungover biker in her bushes.
The humor and craziness that ensues is amazing. Perhaps this “bushes” incident isn’t accidental but more like fate leaning these two a helping hand.
I hurt for both of these two and their inner turmoil but I have to admit I laughed throughout the book as the author gave us a great, well written read about getting over our troubles and giving life a 2nd chance.
This book is going to give you all of the feels. Rebel is mourning the loss of his best friend and drinking a bottle of whiskey at his grave. Pru finds him passed out in her bush in the morning and after a bit of witty banter she invites him in for a cup of coffee. She is on her way to work and their encounter doesn't last long. She wonders if she will see him again and he does indeed show up that evening. A coworker of Pru's also shows up even though she keeps telling him no she doesn't want to date him. Rebel is lost in his despair and guilt over his friends loss but there is something about Pru that leads him back to the land of the living. He begins to heal. The RBMC is still trying to find the man they believe is responsible for the murders of those associated with the club. Barracuda is back but he is deep in feelings of guilt and the fear of losing another person in his life due to his past. There are threats and angst in this book. You will find steamy scenes between Rebel and Pru. This book ends with a shocking scene and I for one cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
Ugggh!! I would have waited until the next book came out if I would have known it was a cliffhanger.... I don't do read until it's done because I as impatient. There... I admitted it....lol
Great book even with the ending. It did start a little bit slow but before I knew it, it was past my bedtime but I had read over half of it and didn't want to put it down. Never figured out how he got his name or even his real name but Rebel is drowning in sorrow because his best friend died and he was pissed off at the club president. He blamed him.
Prudence is a high school teacher who lives alone but she is pretty happy with her life. If only she could get the creepy new gym teacher to quit asking her out and take no for an answer. She wakes up one morning to find a gorgeous biker passed out in her bush. He needs a friend who doesn't know him and they become friends. She helps him deal with what life has thrown at him. He helps her when she has a problem but what does he want besides a friend if anything.... besides getting in her pants?
Their meeting wasn't your typical big bad biker and any woman anywhere. She's a school teacher and isn't used to finding a man in her bush--I mean shrubs. He's shattered by the death of his friend and club brother. He doesn't think he'll ever find his way back but tried through a bottle.
Why she'd get him up and on his feet they both wonder. Why he comes back, again and again, is also a question but she takes him in and they reluctantly form a bond. Who would have thought she'd do what his club brothers couldn't--begin to make him live again.
His search for vengeance with the whole club along could put her in danger and he's not losing anyone else!
This is one of the very best MC reads ever. Touching, steamy, suspenseful, characters you can't help but love who show their emotions bringing laughter and tears to the reader. Thank you Winter Travers for such a touching, wonderful book with characters I will love forever.
I love Winter's books, the humor that goes along with each and everyone is just amazing because hey even in stressful times there is humor.
Landing in someone's bush has never ended so well. Finding someone in your bush has never lead to more. Rebel is grieving, holy heck is that man grieving, I don't blame him his best fried is gone, his faith in the club is shaken so what can he do but stay away. Right or wrong he makes his choice, drinking away the day, visiting Tank and ending up in someone's bush. Prudence is so far from biker chick as a high school teacher, lives along and loves her pizza but when you step out the door and find a body in your bush what else can you do but invite them in.
Grief and healing, coming to terms with everything going on and finding someone to help you along the way. Rebel is an awesome story and great addition to the RBMC. Love this book!
Wow!! This author sure can take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. There are sad moments to suspenseful times to all out laughing moments.
Rebel lost his best friend/brother Tank and is struggling dealing with his death. After one of his visits to the gravesite he gets passed out drunk and lands in someone’s bushes.
Those bushes happen to belong to Prudence who is a straight laced high school teacher with a wicked sense of humor and a heart of gold. She also has a co-worker who is on the creepy side.
Yep, you get it…heartache, humor and suspense. What a great mixture that had me reading this book in one sitting. Life would have to wait until I finished this book!!
I highly recommend this book along with any of this author’s work. Ms. Winters is one of my favorite MC authors. Now I need to go out and plant some bushes around my house!
A terrific addition to this thrilling MC series. I love this Sacramento chapter of the Royal Bastards MC and this author brings something different to a MC romance. There’s always a sexy brother and his lady love along with a few laughs and the spectacular brotherhood. This one features Rebel a brother that’s heartbroken after a tragedy hit the club. The loss hit Rebel hard and he’s down until a fateful encounter with the delightful Pru. It’s an instant attraction and hot chemistry that leads them to love. Rebel and Pru’s romance is full love and helps Rebel heal. I love the hilarious moments in the story along with the brothers in action. There’s a continuing storyline that will bleed into the next installment and I can’t wait. The club President Barracuda is still in a twist after the tragedy in the first story. I hope the next one is his cause he’s need a new love. Loved this one!
I loved Pru and Rebel for each other. He was lost in his head and his grief, yet got luckier than he ever imagined when he ended up sleeping one off in Pru’s yard. When he realized that he didn’t want to even try to stay away from her, Rebel decided to be all in for whatever this would end up as between them. It helped that Pru was the perfect mix of adult and screwball to give Rebel a safe spot to mourn and fall in love all at once. As these two made their way from a hilarious start to everything, some danger was swirling, but it wasn’t what you’d expect. That twist also helped to keep his unpredictable, up to the very last page. I can’t wait to see what comes next because I’m certain it’ll knock my socks off!
The loss of his best friend and fellow MC member has left Rebel feeling alone and trying to numb his pain in destructive ways. His actions lead him to Pru’s yard, and she gives him a sense of peace when he needs someone the most.
Pru has nothing in common with Rebel or his lifestyle but when it comes to the heart it doesn’t seem to matter. They are connected to each other in spite of themselves but as the chemistry escalates between them so does the danger.
Humorous banter, a little intrigue and all the feels as Pru and Rebel are exactly what the other needs in their lives. This story also allows us to catch up with the other members of the MC who once again show how deep their relationships are with each other.
This is the fourth book in this phenomenal series and is Rebel and Pru’s story. Rebel is overwhelmed with grief over the tragic loss of his best friend and club brother Tank, which is consuming him, and he is coping by drinking as pulling away from his club brothers. Pru is a teacher, and she finds a passed-out Rebel in her yard, and she can see the pain he is carrying with him. These two complement each other perfectly, and Rebel knows from the onset that she is going to be his ol’ lady. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with grief, vengeance, healing, humor, witty banter, heartbreak, and love, which leads to an entertaining and all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Rebel was everything I didn't know I needed to read when I picked up the book. Rebel is going through serious feels after losing his best friend to a club menace. He literally wakes up in a stranger's bush. Pru is a teacher who lives a quiet and sedate life until one morning she finds a hot biker guy snoring in her shrubbery. Rebel and Pru's story hit right with me--the perfect balance of funny, serious and a little creepy sprinkled in with Pru's off-kilter co-worker. Rebel is so swoon worthy, it is ridiculous. This book left me with a new book boyfriend and craving pizza. What more could you want?
This story tugged on my heart, while it made me laugh as much as it made me swoon. Rebel is broken and trapped in his darkness, but still sexy as ever. Prudence is funny, beautiful, sweet and not looking for a biker. But I’m so glad she found one in a very unlikely place. I love how Pru brings light back into Rebel’s life and how he protects her at all costs. These two bring out the best in each other and have awesome banter. You need to read this book for the cemetery, the bush, the pizza, the girl’s night, the text and the lift alone. I want Rebel to call me babe as he carries me around and makes me his forever!
This story of Rebel and Prudence is so adorable, the banter between the two characters is so funny and loving. Winter Travers you did good on this story of human emotion and kindness. I laughed, cried and just fell in love with this book. Rebel finds it hard to get over the death of his best friend Tank , he does everything to forget but his emotions get the best of him, drinking staying away from the MC and when he thinks all is lost, he discovers a very funny, attractive woman. He falls in love with her. I recommend you read this story and I give it a 5 Stars review
WOW!! This is by far my absolute favorite of the series so far! Rebel is lost in grief, and with that he is having a bit of a moment questioning all his reasons for being in the MC, and having anger towards Barracuda for leaving. Now they know more about the on going issue and just who is targeting them. Rebel finds himself waking up in someone's bush, nope not that kind of bush, the actually outside planted in the ground type of bush. From that moment on, Pru is also taking up space in his head. This was a super cute story filled with drama, danger, a tad bit of violence, and a whole lot of laughs. I really enjoyed this and give this 5 stars.
I loved this story. Pru was amazing the way she was just there for Rebel when he needed her! Absolutely loved the connection between these two. The witty banter, the sexiness. The darkness of grief yet the sweetness of support. Brilliant seeing the rest of the club, seeing the brotherhood. Rebel is Sacramento RBMC. They gave him a home, family and purpose when he needed it. He became a prospect and eventually a full patch with Tank. A man who became his best friend and partner in everything “Club Business”. That is up until Menice, a man with a vendetta with the RBMC, killed Tank. Now Rebel is lost and can't seem to find his way home. Enter Pru!
Rebel has us riding with the Royal Bastards MC again dealing with tragedy, guilt, hurt and loss. As Rebel finds himself in a predicament that has him crossing paths with Prudence, where a undeniable connection instantly takes hold. As drama plays out amongst grieving, there will also be witty banter to lighten the load. These two have a chemistry that is sizzling hot and the ol’ ladies thoroughly entertain us with their ridiculous conversations. Another great addition to this series that leaves us on the edge of our seat and eagerly awaiting Barracuda’s story.
Fantastic! I love a story that can have me both laughing and twisting up my heart while tears fall. I adore Pru, she's sweet, fun, and the way she clicks with Rebel is perfect. I loved his protective side, his heart... oh my. I just love this series, how close everyone is and how there's some great moments that keep you on the edge of your seat. Another must read in this series and I can't wait to see what more is to come from these guys!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
He is struggling to overcome a loss, she lives a boring life. One bush changes it all. Will he be ready to live life again? Will she get what she has longed for?
Have to say that these two made a good fit. I loved how despite the grief he was experiencing, he couldn't help, but be drawn to her time and again and when he finally started opening up, he had a huge heart. She definitely accepted him and those around her for who they were, I loved how she just accepted everyone into her life. Another Winter Travers hit!
