When overworked supermodel Pandora Sebastian flees a taxing photoshoot and takes refuge in Bunya Junction’s only pub—all while dressed as a bride—the locals are unexpectedly welcoming. Pandora may not be a runaway bride, but she does need a break from her high-powered career. Why not stay in this idyllic little country town and consider her options?
Jonas Carruthers thinks he’s seen it all—until Pandora bursts into his pub and his life. She’s everything he doesn’t expect her to be: kind, compassionate, hardworking, and interested in him. And despite wanting to help her, she’s also the only one who can own her mistakes, fix the PR mess she’s in, and rescue her career.
As much as she wants to stay hidden in Bunya Junction, Pandora needs to face the press and wear the consequences. Jonas has been great, but there’s no way he’ll step up to support her choices. Or will he?
USA Today Bestselling author Nicole Flockton writes sexy contemporary romances, seducing you one kiss at a time as you turn the pages. Nicole likes nothing better than taking characters and creating unique situations where they fight to find their true love.
On her first school report her teacher noted "Nicole likes to tell her own stories". It wasn’t until after the birth of her first child and after having fun on a romance community forum that she finally decided to take the plunge and write a book.
Apart from writing Nicole is busy looking after her very own hero – her wonderfully supportive husband, and two fabulous kids. She also enjoys watching sports and, of course, reading.
Runaway to the Outback is the second book in the Welcome To Bunya Junction series by Nicole Flockton. This is a contemporary romance about finding love unexpectedly, with a little drama, emotion, and wonderful characters- which is again (as with the first book) set in a small country town called Bunya Junction in the Australia outback. This time we get Jonas Carruthers and Pandora Sebastian’s story. Jonas is Sindy’s brother (book one) and he owns the one and only pub in town. Life in Bunya Junction can be predictable- until Pandora arrives and turns his world upside down. Pandora is pretty famous- the supermodel has had enough though- bolting from her latest a photoshoot when things got far too challenging. She desperately needs to take a step back from the high pressures of modelling life and could really do with a break. After finding herself in the out-of-the-way country town, Pandora decides that Bunya Junction might just be what she needs right now. But what happens when her ‘life’ catches up with her and she is forced to face some harsh realities? This story is really worth the read to find out. A wonderful addition to the series. Bring on Book #3!
Both H & H have been burnt before and was hesitant to start a new relationship. This slowed the story down and there was a lack of excitement and anticipation. The chemistry was good but something was missing for me. An average read 3.5 stars.
Jonas Carruthers was surprised the day he saw a bride walk into his bar in Bunya Junction. But Pandora Sebastian wasn’t a bride. She was a model who walked off the set of a photo shoot. She just got tired of it all and needed a break. Pandora would spend the next of couple weeks in the tiny town relaxing. She never expected to fall for Jonas, Bunya Junction or the people who lived there. Now Pandora is faced with the decision of the quiet country life or to go back to the hustle and bustle of the city and her hectic modeling life.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was excited to read this one. It was just as good as I expected. I liked seeing Pandora learn to relax and enjoy life and Jonas finally fall in love again, after his past girlfriends didn’t want anything to do with him once he moved to a tiny outback town. Of course, catching up with the characters from the first book was a plus too.
I enjoyed this romance story. This is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much as the first one. I highly suggest reading the first one as well though it is not necessary to read this but you will enjoy it just as much. This is an author that I have enjoyed reading since the first book I have picked up of hers. Her attention to details as well as her creative characters make her stories easy and entertaining to read. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. It is a fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. The characters are relatable and just added to the story. I also enjoyed how they brought the story to life on each page. This story is about Pandora and how she just plain needs a break from her modeling career. She does just that when she leaves a shoot dressed as a bride and goes to the only pub in town. Jonas is the owner of the pub and never expects her to come through his door. She is now faced with some choices and it is time to face the press. What will happen between these two? I enjoyed their growth and chemistry throughout the story. They made such great characters. I highly recommend reading their story to find out what happens with these two. Is there a happily ever after in their future?
I have to say I really enjoyed reading Runaway to the outback by Nicole Flockton. Although this is book is the 2nd to the outback series I ended up going back and reading book one. She did an excellent job in bring these characters together in such a hallmark feeling love story. I became very invested in Pandora and Jonas love story from the moment she busted through the Bunya Junction Pub in her photoshoot wedding dress. I love how the locals unexpectedly took her in as their own. I wanted to scream at Jonas towards the end of the book for not making right decisions right off the bat. I absolutely adored Ray’s love story being written in to Pandora and Jonas love story. It had the simple hallmark happy ending even for the brother of Jonas leaving an opening for another book in the series! I am hooked for sure to these books! Bonus for the book being an easy and short read!
This was a good read, I enjoyed the complicated story of Jonas & Pandora. This could start out like a joke with did you hear the one about the bride who walked into a bar, but this story starts out sweet & funny with a side of sexual tension, then moves into complicatedly sexy & heartbreaking all at once & finally into a swoon worthy at last. We watch as they dance around one another & slowly increase the sexual tension between them until it can’t be contained or stepped around anymore. We also watch as Pandora falls in love with the town of Bunya Junction & its residents & they with her. As with all stories of love someone makes a dumb move & ruins it & that’s were we see Jonas step up to the plate & hit a homer on this one. I enjoyed the continuation of Ryan & Sindy’s relationship & their surprising news, as well as seeing Scott again. Recommend to read. Thank you to Tule publishing for letting me read this book for an honest review.
Sweet contemporary romance and I loved it. Jonas Carruthers is the owner of the local Bunya Junction pub and a bit of a workaholic. Working at the bar, in walks in the beautiful Pandora Sebastian in a wedding dress. Talk around town and the bar believe she is a runaway bride. You find out differently, as she is a supermodel and just needs a break from modelling. Sparks fly as Jonas and Pandora get to know each other. I loved the chemistry that Jonas and Pandora and I also love the continuation of some "news" of Sindy and Ryan from book 1. Looking forward to book 3! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Runaway to the outback is the second book in the Bunyan Junction series by Nicole Flockton and I got to say that I really enjoyed it as much as the first one. I enjoy reading series where characters that I love from the previous books make an appearance. I enjoyed Jonas and Pandora’s story, getting to know them and following along as their chemistry grows and fall in love. I can’t wait to read book three in the series because if it’s like the first two I won’t be able to put it down until I have finished it.
Jonas owns the pub in the small town of Bunya Junction.
Pandora is a a top supermodel.
Jonas meets Pandora when she comes to his pub dressed in a wedding gown (Looking like a runaway bride), but in reality she left a photo shoot, because she felt the walls closing in on her. She needed a break from the hustle and bustle of the life of a glamorous model.
Pandora stays and gets to know the town people and loves how a small town people care and help each other.
I really am enjoying this series.
Great job Nicole! I am looking forward to the next book.
After reading Home to the Outback I fell in love with Sindy's brothers (especially Jonas). So I was very excited that his was the next book in the series. Pandora is a strong character who is very relatable and sweet. Jonas is a caring and protective man. They both have preconceived ideas of each other based on their past experiences and this affects how they react to each other. I love them together and feel their interactions are just like anyone else's might be. (I forgot they were characters in a book). Would definitely recommend this book and can't wait for Scott's story!!
Pandora and Jonas’s story was just what I needed as a gentle that it’s really okay to take a timeout when things become overwhelming. Beautifully written book with characters that show us that life can get messy, but with the right mindset and people willing to accept you as you are, anything is possible….. even a romance worth fighting for. Highly recommended
I love the Welcome to Bunya Junction series and its characters. Romance tends to blossom in this cozy small town. You never know when you’re going to find exactly what you need. Pandora stopped at a pub in Bunya Junction when she’d had enough at a modeling shoot. She never expected to find friends and happiness there. She is drawn to Jonas, the pub owner. Can they find happiness together that will last? I can’t wait did the next book in the series.
The book was fabulous and the characters were fantastic and I hope others will please read this book. The author was fantastic I love her writing in the book
We are back to Bunya Junction, a place where the townspeople take care of each other and where those that come for a visit, frequently make it their home. Runaway supermodel Pandora Sebastian is one of those . In the middle of her bride magazine photoshoot, she feels the walls closing in. She flees the shoot, takes a car and stops in Bunya Junction never expecting her life would be forever changed. Her first stop is the local pub. Bartender/owner Jonas Carruthers is shocked but also intrigued by this beautiful “runaway bride” . Is she like many of those he once knew in his previous life in Sydney? Those only interested in themselves and what they could take from others? As he gets to know Pandora, feelings develop for this hardworking, sweet woman. But what happens when a lie to the public could ruin her career? Will she choose to return to her life in Sydney or stay in Bunya Junction? This was another engaging story in this series with complex characters. If you have read the previous book, you’ll get a chance to see how the characters in that story are doing . I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This is a great and well written addition to the Bunya Junction series. It’s not everyday that a beautiful runaway ‘bride’ ends up in a small town pub. Pub owner Jonas takes one look at Pandora, who is actually a supermodel and is beyond intrigued. The chemistry between to two is immediate and undeniable in this slow burn small town romance. However, it’s not all smooth sailing as these two work their way to a well deserved HEA.
Book 2 in the Bunya Junction series is a wonderful addition. I love series! The continuation of all the characters you grew to love in the previous book(s) and how they grow and evolve is like connecting with old friends. And when a runaway bride comes into the pub she turns Jonas and the rest of the town's normal lives around. Can't wait for book 3!
We are back in Bunya Junction and seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Pandora shows up at Jonas bar in a wedding dress and the whole town thinks she's a runaway bride and they want to help take care of her. When they find out she's not they still stand by her. There's sparks flying between Jonas and Pandora but they don't want to give in to it. Pandora likes the people and is enjoying small town living but will she stay? Lots of getting over the past and romance and accepting love. We get to catch up with Ryan and Sindy and the rest of the wonderful characters of Bunya Junction. Can't wait to see what happens in the next one.
Fears, insecurities and past love gone wrong hamper the connection between a bar owner and a runaway super model. It is chemistry that draws them together and chemistry is hard to fight. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Well a bride walks into a pub..... and we are back.in BJ the small town that cares about everyone. Such a brilliant light read. We watch as Jonas and Pandora fall in love. But before that they both have to decide what is important. So get somewhere comfy and let's go back to Bunyan Junction. Let's have a drink at the pub, get caught with with Ryan and Sindy, and watch has Jonas makes choices that will change his life forever.

I received an arc of Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the Welcome to Bunya Junction series. The books take place in the tiny town of Bunya Junction, in Australia. This book features Jonas Carruthers, brother to Sindy that we met in the first book. Jonas owns the town pub and we learn that he is quite a workaholic. Suddenly, an unknown woman dressed in a wedding gown enters the pub. Everyone assumes she’s either a runaway bride or she was ditched at the altar. She sits at the bar and talks to Jonas, telling him her name is Pandora Sebastian and that she was actually at a photo shoot and not a wedding. She shares that things overwhelmed her and she took a car and escaped. Sindy and her fiancé Ryan were in the pub and offered to get her something to change into.
Pandora asks about getting a hotel room for the night and Jonas tells her he runs an inn too and offers to let her stay. She decides to call her agent to let her know what happened. The agent offers to provide a cover story to save her career and she accepts. The story they used was that a beloved pet had died and she left the photo session. Pandora isn’t happy with the story since it is a lie. However she doesn’t want people speculating that she’s having a breakdown or anything. She decides she needs a break and wants to stay a couple weeks in Bunya Junction interacting with Jonas and his family and the other townspeople. She starts helping Jonas with the bar and talking to the residents of the town and loving it.
Jonas realizes he’s developing feelings for Pandora but he’s not happy about it since she lives in the city and he’s in the country. Their jobs are both demanding and he doesn’t see how things can work out. He also believes she is taking advantage of her situation, letting others help her instead of fixing her own problems. Pandora also realizes she has strong feelings for him too. She thinks he always puts the pub first so he won’t stand by her when she comes to some difficult situations. Although both interpret the other person’s feelings and actions incorrectly initially, they are both genuine people and very likable characters.
There’s a lot of good angst and romance in the book. I enjoyed it a lot, just like I did with book one. It was good to see the characters we met in the first book too. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. Nicole has done a great job sharing with the reader about life in a small town in Australia. I’ve given it 5 stars and highly recommend it.
This was a first time read author for me, I must say it was more than enjoyed. I realized there was a first so I will be for sure going back to read the prior in the series. There was so much to love in this novel, I felt my emotions were all over the place, all in all, it was good ways as I was experiencing what the characters had felt and were going through. I was completely sucked in with no regrets!
One of the aspects I loved dearly about this book, was that it really got you thinking on life. For Pandora, she had a good modeling career and had a lot of things she wanted dropping at her feet. Is fame and fortune really what makes the heart happy though? I found that was what she was thinking about a lot. And how it led her to meet Jonas. Who was something not of her life style, but something more that could make her heart feel more real and full without all the glamour associated with her current life.
Pandora and Jonas was no match made in Heaven, but to me something even better and stronger that in my reader's opinion. She was a rich person who came back down to Earth for an escape, as she was not all that happy. Jonas was a bartender who knew things on life and got though life well being him. i thought both sides of their stories were a great connection of chemistry between the two of them. As things progressed, drama and I mean a lot had happened, at least in my perspective. Heart break and sadness comes with that and perhaps even a chance for both characters to find home in the least unexpected way? Perhaps running from thing wasn't the way to go, but perhaps it would be a road to lead you home? The book was an amazing read and I loved it so much, I did not want it to end in all honesty!
The author knew how to tug at one's heart strings for sure and I loved all the events and things that happened in the book. It all developed the story and made the plot what it was, which was amazing and heartfelt. It was a very wonderful book that as I said made me reflect on things with life, and it is a book I highly recommend to anyone to read! Its one that yo will end with a smile, and be happy you read it!
Welcome to Bunya Junction, Book 2 Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton Running away never felt so good… When overworked supermodel Pandora Sebastian flees a taxing photoshoot and takes refuge in Bunya Junction’s only pub—all while dressed as a bride—the locals are unexpectedly welcoming. Pandora may not be a runaway bride, but she does need a break from her high-powered career. Why not stay in this idyllic little country town and consider her options? As much as she wants to stay hidden in Bunya Junction, Pandora needs to face the press and wear the consequences. Jonas has been great, but there’s no way he’ll step up to support her choices. Or will he? This is Jonas Carruthers and Pandora Sebastian's story. Silence descended like a dark thundercloud over the room. The only sound came from the rugby game blasting from the televisions. Jonas Carruthers stopped wiping the wooden bartop and looked toward the door to see what had made the afternoon patrons of his pub cease their conversations. He blinked once, then again, convinced his eyes were playing tricks on him. Standing in the doorway surveying the room was a bride. An honest-to-goodness I’m about to walk down the aisle bride. And she definitely wasn’t a Bunya Junction resident. If she was, Jonas would know her. He knew everyone in the place. How she managed to squeeze the dress she wore through the door was a feat in itself. Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton is a 4 star book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton Am familiar with the characters and the town so that makes it a lot easy to dive right in. If you've not read the series, it's ok you are brought up to date without a lot of the past events. This story starts out with Pandora and high end model who's at her wits end. She just walked off the set doing a wedding gown cover for the magazine and has left her phone, purse everything and took the rental car with her. She ends up in Bunya Junction and walks into the bar where the bartender Jonas is there to serve her and help her out. He thinks an angry groom will be appearing and she sets him straight. She also has no room for the night and no way to pay for it. His sister arrives and knows who she is and confides in her that she can help get her regular clothes to wear. She arrives back later with a bag of all kinds of clothes, in right sizes that she collected from her friends and thrift store. Jonas also sets her up with a room above the bar that the family rents out from time to time. He is smitten with her as they learn more about each other. They walk when things are quiet at nights. She helps him out at the bar with washing and cleaning, serving, whatever needs to be done. She finally talks to her agent and Laura will handle the press and keep pressure off Pandora. Things get out of hand when she learns what others think of her just leaving and she has to head back to Sydney to set the record straight, although it might sabotage her career. Love solutions they come up with. You figure there's no way she'd be happy staying in this rural town compared to all the travel she's done modeling clothes. Love this story and twists and turns for them and others in the area. Excerpt of the next book in the series is included at the end.
Having read and enjoyed the first book in this series ‘Home to the Outback’ I was looking forward to returning to Bunya Junction and was definitely not disappointed. This story centres around Bunya Junction local Jonas Carruthers (Sindy from book ones brother) and supermodel Pandora Sebastian. Pandora and Jonas meet when she takes refuge from a photoshop in the local pub and there is confusing as she’s wearing a wedding dress, and so the locals think she’s a runaway bride. Pandora decides to take a break from her high powered career and stay in the little country town with the welcoming locals, while she attempts to fix the PR mess she’s created and hopefully rescue her career. Jonas having been hurt before by relationships has preconceived ideas about the city based supermodel but soon learns that she is actually the opposite. As romance blossoms between the couple Pandora dose not expect Jonas to support her when she has to face the press, but maybe he will surprise her and if he does will she consider a permanent move to the outback. The beautiful Australian outback setting and small town living was once again bought to life through the descriptive narrative, making me feel immersed in the story. The characters were likeable and relatable and so well defined that I felt like they were friends. I enjoyed how the relationship between Jonas and Pandora developed and their chemistry sizzled off the page. I loved ‘catching up’ with Sindy and Ryan from book one, and look forward to some of the other secondary characters having there own story in this series. An enjoyable and engaging read which I definitely recommend.
With book one in this series, Home to the Outback, author Nicole Flockton became one of my favorite authors and that continued throughout all of book 2. Once again Nicole brings her characters to life with such detail that it is impossible not to get involved in their story and wish only good things for them. In this book, we once again are taken to small town Bunya Junction and thrust into the lives of Jonas, younger brother to Sindy, the heroine of book one and Pandora. Jonas is zealous about his work. He owns the pub and inn and works harder in a day than most people in a week. Pandora is a model and while she enjoys it in some aspects others make her feel the need to run. And run she does, straight into Jonas’ pub and in a wedding dress to boot! Pandora is exactly the opposite of the model stereotype. She is warm, considerate, tender and is no slouch. She works just as hard as Jonas. Jonas is determined, steadfast and opinionated and as the story plays out these traits make Pandora wonder if he could ever support her in some very difficult circumstances and decisions she must work through. The characters are very well developed and the story is a page turner. Much like book one I couldn’t put it down. I love the scenes containing previous characters. Especially Ryan and Sindy. Getting to follow their lives together, even as supporting characters, really adds a bit of treasure you don’t get in stand alone stories. I am in so in love with this town I wanna pack up and move there! Cannot wait for January when book 3, Doctor in the Outback, Scott’s story is released!!
Runaway to the Outback may be my all time favorite book written by Nicole Flockton. It is the second book in Welcome to Bunya Junction Series. I say maybe because the next book may outshine this one more. It seems to be that the author has found the perfect series to write.
The characters are people that I like no matter that their lives have been different from mine. In fact that makes them more interesting. Their desire to do what is responsible and right comes through not just in their thoughts but in their actions too. First appearance has Pandora Sebastian looking as if she is a fleeing brides but looks can be deceiving. She soon sets Jonas straight which makes the story more intriguing of how she is going to fit in his life. I like her which shows the author’s skill at giving the reader a character in a cut throat business but who is actually different from the normal stereotype.
Jonas Carruthers is the brother to Sindy, the main female character from the first book in the series. Of course, her fiancé and she make appearances in Jonas’ story but have not fear it is not necessary to have read the first book to enjoy this one. It may entice you to want to read the first book, Home to the Outback.
4.5 Stars An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction #2) by Nicole Flockton
This isn't the first book I've read by Flockton. This is the second book in the Welcome to Bunya Junction Series. It can be read as a standalone. Flockton knows what to do to keep her readers coming back.
Pandora comes into Bunya Junction running from a photoshoot. When she walks in everyone thinks that she is a runaway bride. She is tired of modelling and wants to take a break. The quote I chose for Pandora is: “I’m impressed with your knowledge. But in answer to your question, once I get into a room I’ll make a call then. It’s not your problem to sort out.”
Jonas is the younger brother of Sindy(Home to the Outback). When a woman comes into the pub looking like a bride Jonas wonders what is going on. He soon learns that there is no one coming to look for the bride. The question he has is, what secrets is she hiding? The quote I chose for Jonas is: “Are you hungry? We’ve got a pretty decent menu here, with good food. The offer of the room is still on the table. If you do decide you want to go back to Sydney, you can’t do it on an empty stomach. And I promise I will do my best not to say anything else that will upset you.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.
Runaway To The Outback Welcome to Bunya Junction Book 2 By Nicole Flockton ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ You are about to step into a quaint little pub. You will meet new friends and enjoy the peacefulness that sets before you. That is what makes this a Contemporary Romance. One I am sure you will enjoy as much as I did. Pandora Sebastian is a model who just needs some quiet. Stress from work had taken over and she just needed to get away. Running from yet another photoshoot, she hops into the closest car and drives away. Many things lead up to her driving away but I'll let you read it for yourself. Jonas Carruthers owns the little pub that Pandora walks into. He has his own story to tell as well. No Spoilers will be found here.
Nicole Flockton wrote this "easy to get caught up in" novel. It is well written and keeps you entertained. I recommend you read Book 1 so you are caught up and ready to read Pandora and Jonas' story. This author ends her story where the next one starts. Giving you a little taste of what is coming. I have grown to love the characters and their roles in the little town. This is one of those books that make it hard to put down. I am looking forward to reading the next in this series. Well Done Nicole Flockton! Well Done!!
Have you ever showed up to a bar in a wedding dress? No, me either but that is how Pandora entered into the life of Jonas. This isn't your typical run away bride story. I gave this story 4 stars because it is a decent and easy read. The characters do have some development throughout the story but the ending feels a little rushed. It is a slow burn steamy romance between the two main characters and they struggle through the whole book to overcome their personal issues. The issues get resolved in the last chapter of the book and the epilogue gives you a months after they resolved things and ends with a happy ending. It just felt as though there could have been more substance from the last chapter to the epilogue. I wanted to know more and be more intertwined into the overall plot of the story. Don't get me wrong, this is a good book and worth reading and the series so far is good. I would recommend this book to people but would give a warning of the rushed ending. Again, this is just my take on the story. I am one that loves to be fully immersed into the story and I wasn't with this one. I would chose to read it again because I can't stress enough that it is good. I just like a little more meat and potatoes with my books.
Runaway to the Outback(Welcome to Bunya Junction #2)by Nicole Flockton
4out of 5 stars
Runaway to the Outback is the second book in the Welcome To Bunya Junction series written by Nicole Flockton and the first book that I have read by this author. This is a contemporary romance about finding love unexpectedly, throw in a little drama and we have a great story. The characters are well written with strong personalities and the way they play off their little quirks is awesome. This author pays a lot of attention to detail that you feel that you are right there.
Pandora Sebastian flees a taxing photoshoot and takes refuge in Bunya Junction’s only pub all while dressed as a bride and the locals are unexpectedly welcoming. Jonas Carruthers thought he’s seen it all until Pandora bursts into his pub and his life. Pandora need a break from her high-powered career so why not in Bunya Junctions. She needs to go back and fix the PR mess she is in, also the only one who can own her mistakes and rescue her career. Jonas has been the strength she needed but will he understand that she has to go back but she doesn’t think he will stand by her. Will they have a happily ever after or will they walk away from each other?
