"Will you be my forever?"
I love small town romance. Telluride, Colorado, with its mountains, the snow, and the landscapes seems absolutely perfect for me. Can I please move now?
Adventurous Love is a very sweet story about two people who weren't looking for anyone, who had given up on wanting something for themselves, because life had knocked them down a few times.
"Finding someone to spend your life with was elusive."
Kelsey's and Henry's story is pretty much insta-lust, if not insta-love. They're clearly attracted to each other right away, but they come from very different worlds. He's the mountain guy, she lives in New York. He owns a mountain lodge, she works at the stock exchange.
They shouldn't fit, but they do. They shouldn't work well together, but they do. And while they resist it at first, their chemistry becomes undeniable, and threatens to turn their worlds upside down.
"How is it I miss you already? You haven't even left."
They keep getting closer and closer, but they have an expiration date. Kelsey's in town for their friends' wedding and is bound to return to NYC after it. So they know it can't last, and they assume it won't last, so they decide to spend whatever time they have together.
But what if...
Henry is my only complaint. I'm a character-driven reader, and I personally needed more from him. Hence my 3.5, rounded up to 4.
"I wanted to chase away the shadows in her eyes."
While I loved Kelsey and I can understand where she's coming from, her doubts, and her insecurities, she still rose up to the challenge. She opened her heart and trusted Henry. But Henry... while he was a sexy, caring guy, I needed his leap of faith. I needed him to put Kelsey first, and to see what was staring him right in the eye. Maybe because his relationship issues didn't feel all that real, and he felt sort of childish to me sometimes.
However, bonus points for Gray and Elle because they are real friends. They support you when you need it, and they're the first ones to call you out when you need to get your head out of your ass.
More bonus points for Henry's mom and dad - relationship goals right there! I loved them both!
"You're all that matters."
Ms. Coll wrote the right happily ever after for them. It's perfect, it's spot on, and it will make your heart feel warm and happy.
All love is kind of an adventure - theirs wasn't an easy one, but it was really worth it!
I received an ARC from Grey's Promotions and this is my honest review.
