Vincent and Sheriff Romeo are my chance to find peace at last. I’ve been waiting for someone to notice I’m gone for a long time. Until the vampire showed up, I wasn’t sure anyone could help. All I want to do is move on to the next step… and I really need to rest.
Vincent and Romeo, you’re my only hope.
Strange things are happening in Prosper Woods, California. Ever since moving here, my life has turned upside down. Some things have been amazing, like falling head over heels for Vincent Lasco, a gorgeous vampire. Other things have been weirder than I could ever imagine. I’ve learned a truth about myself, and it came as a massive shock. Most of the town residents have quirks of their own. Let’s just say, nothing is boring about this bizarre place.
Supernaturals flourish here!
Sheriff, Romeo Harmon makes me happier than I’ve ever been. He’s kind, funny, and honest to the core, just the kind of man I used to be, centuries ago. I have a new lease on my long life. Things could go on just the way they are but there’s something I’ve been asked do before that happens. I need to help Romeo find a sweet little boy and finally lay him to rest.
Who knew ghosts could have broken hearts?
An ancient rival? A gay unicorn? A crusty old witch who should be in diapers? The dumbest progeny anyone could ever have? Shifters who come in herds? What has my life become but a millennium of crap. My only hope is to get what I came for and do away with my enemies.

This book shouldn't be read as stand-a-lone as you miss out on what has already happened. In addition, the prequel should be read so you can see how Vincent & Romeo met. So in the previous book, we see the 3 vampires come to town to get their hands on Vincent sire's books and get magically thrown out of town & of course the swear revenge. We also have the appearance of the little lost ghost boy who asks Vincent to help find him. Greg & Sam also finally get moving in the right path. So we are off trying to find the body of the little boy so that they can put him to rest. The bad vampires are also still around, because Sergio is bound and determined to get his hands on those books. No matter what it takes, he & is merry little band of bad vamps are going to get them. So after much work, they do find the body of the boy, but they didn't expect to find what they did find. And I don't want to give away spoilers, but some ugliness comes to light about him and others. At some point there is going to have to be a final showdown between our MC's their allies and the bad guys. Also, the ending does end on a bit of a cliffhanger with something happening that you don't see coming.
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review
The plot here was less than satisfying, and nothing seems to be solved at the end of the book. I'm all for long arcs but it's not working here. It's a shame, because I really liked the ghost storyline.
And the romance between Greg & Sam didn't work for me at all. Greg was portrayed too good as mentally slow for me to be able to feel comfortable with the romance. *shudders*
In my opinion, this is a big improvement on the previous books in the series. Both Romeo and Vincent grew in stature as characters, and I enjoyed the introduction and development of some of the secondary characters. The mystery was written well, (my heart bled for Blue 🥺) , with a satisfying conclusion. Intriguing ending. Looking forward to reading the final book in the series.
I had forgotten about this series so I went back and read the second book. Vincent and Romeo are still going strong and set about trying to solve where Blue is so he can have a decent burial. Love this little town with all the different typws of shifters. Straight onto book 3
This book was a hard one for me to rate. The beginning is very choppy, things seem to jump from place to place and there isn’t a lot of cohesion. The author seems to use sex as a way to divert from the lack of storytelling and there’s a lot of telling vs. showing. I almost DNFed it but I am normally such a fan of this author’s work I figured it had to get better. Honestly, it didn’t even feel like it was written by Logan, especially the first part of the book.
There are a number of things introduced during the book but not a lot gets followed up on. This book is really more about dealing with the mystery from the last book and an issue from the last book reappears in this book. It just doesn’t feel like there’s a cohesive plan for the series and things are just being strung out. Vincent certainly doesn’t seem as canny or talented as a 700 year old vampire should be. I can’t figure out what Romeo’s talents are other than “I pick things up, I put them down”. The villains from the last book are still around and despite the havoc they appear to be wreaking no one seems to notice. The whole incident with the fishing accident adds nothing to the storyline.
The ending doesn’t really end anything and adds yet another twist. Frankly, with better editing, everything I’ve read thus far (prologue and books one and two) and most likely what’s to come in the next book could have all been put together in one book. Not sure I’m still wrapped up in the characters or story arc enough to care what comes next. It wasn’t awful but it’s definitely not what I”be come to expect from this author.
**I voluntarily read an arc and this is my unbiased opinion.**
What happens when an ancient vampire, a gay unicorn, a witch, and a couple of werewolves walk into a bar? Nothing but chaos and fun in the true Patricia Logan style!
Oh My! Patricia Logan did it again! I keep thinking that maybe this author will slow down but every time a novel comes out, I'm left wondering about her brilliance. Vincent and Romeo are very different from the characters we've met, yet. Throw in a vampire and a unicorn couple with simple and lovable werewolf BFFs, a grumpy witch, a Precious poodle *wink*, some sweet and chaotic bunnies with other disgustingly cute shifters, and you get a novel you will find difficult to put down.
In True Blue, Vincent and Romeo embark upon a journey to free a lost soul. The soul in question is a sweet boy who's been through too much to wander alone. His only salvation, an undead vampire and a sweet sheriff.
Vincent and Romeo are in love and with their love comes some complications (which I'm very much looking forward to reading). With mysterious and yet not-so-mysterious things happening in the small Californian town of Prosper Woods, this installment in the Chronicles is funny and thrilling at the same time.
As usual, Patricia Logan has written a masterpiece with lovable goofy characters, scenic settings, a story that will grip you tight and- at one moment will leave you laughing out loud in the middle of the night and the next will make your jaw drop with astonishment. (I mean, for me at least)
The story didn't gradually develop in this book as it is a continuing series, however, the build-up was slow but it kind of meshed with the overall plot of this book, in particular. It was fun to read the POV of one of the bad guys we met in the previous book. However, it was not fun to watch sweet werewolves struggling with feelings. I mean, please, give them a break. They deserve it!
The story, the plot, the gradual increase in tension were almost perfect, balanced well with the Letters to the Editor. There were moments where I thought the moments dragged on but not enough to make me skip the chapters. The shifters are fun and I love how the author has carefully explained the paranormal and supernatural side. I have read many PNR, supernatural, shifter books but there are only some that actually make me read without skipping chapters and I'm happy to say that Ms. Patricia's Prosper Wood Chronicles comes under the very few books I happen to genuinely enjoy.
Overall, I'd give this book a 5 on 5. The plot was engaging, the story arc was compelling, and the characters were interesting. I'm really looking forward to the next installment in the Prosper Wood Chronicles, especially after that jaw-dropping, kindle-smashing, cliffhanger!
What next for Vincent, Romeo, and their chaos-inducing, madness-filled small-town life? I don't know but I can't wait to explore it more!
P.S. No Spoilers, I think; I know we have some alternate versions of beloved J and T but pretty please, can we have the others too?
If you haven't yet picked up True Mate what are you waiting for?! Read it now! And then come back and pick up True Blue for maximum enjoyment in Patricia Logan's chaotic and fun-filled world of shifters!
True Blue is the second full-length novel in the Prosper Wood Chronicles series and to be enjoyed properly, it should NOT be read as a standalone.
I received an ARC from Gay Romance Reviews for my honest review of Patricia Logan's True Blue (Book 2 of Prosper Wood Chronicles). This review is my honest opinion of the book based on my reading experience.
*4.5* I am totally loving this paranormal series. There's a lot going on to keep you entertained and engaged right from the start and I like having the occasional POV from characters other than the MC's, especially Greg and Sam. This is definitely a series I'd recommend reading in order, including the prequel, as there is a lot the impacts the next part of the story and an overall series arc. Unicorn shifter and sheriff, Romeo, and vampire, Vincent, may have only been together a short time but their relationship goes from strength to strength. They are very hot together but also provide support for all aspects of their lives, both regular and supernatural. There are several plot points going on in this book with a couple progressing across the series but this book focuses of Blue, the ghost of a child who has asked Vincent for help in being laid to rest. The information they uncover and circumstances around his death bring anger and shock to the group and its definitely an emotional read in that regard. There's also progress made for Greg since taking over as alpha of the local wolf pack and we hear from Sergio, a vampire from Vincent's past looking to take something that doesn't belong to him. A great story that just gets more detailed as we go. It brings a mix of emotions as there are unexpected and funny moments but also those that being fear and sadness. I love the group of townspeople that we are getting to know and look forward to more from them all in the next book, and especially so with how this book ended! Definitely a recommended read. I received an ARC via GRR and am happily giving a review.
Vincent and Romeo are back and they are trying to stay safe from hostile vampires and werewolves and steer clear of the local homophobic busybody. Vincent is seeing Blue, a child ghost who needs help finding his body so that he can rest in peace. Romeo is dealing with another dead body that is beyond suspicious. The local wolf packs new alpha is having problems with his best friend and roomie. There's a spy leaking information to the old alpha. And also mysterious shifters giving Romeo and Vincent vague information about someone coming if they can help Blue.
I really liked this follow up book. I'm truly invested in this series and can't wait for the next book. All the characters are needed and get a little more explored as the books evolve. I teared up at the end when the Blue character gets his peace. The ending has a nice little twist that will liven up the next book. Definitely recommend this book and series.
This is the second visit to Prosper Woods (reading the prequel is recommended, but book one is a must) and this time Romeo and Vincent have to solve the mystery of what happened to Blue, all whilst other dark forces are lurking.
I love that the whole cast of characters from the previous book are back. Romeo and Vincent as fated mates are undoubtedly great MCs, but how they lean into the skills and knowledge of their colleagues and neighbours works so well for me (and the multi-POV chapters) - it's what gives Prosper Woods that real feeling of community.
All in all, True Blue is thoroughly enjoyable PNR with a solid, well executed mystery plot. One small word of warning, though, whilst there's definitely a positive ending there's also a (metaphorical) bombshell of a cliffhanger...can't wait to see how that plays out. 4.5*
This was another great addition in the Prosper Woods Chronicles., We get more of Romeo and Vincent also a few more POVs that will make this book more entertaining, Greg and Sam were really good and I’m looking forward to seeing these two figure out their feelings. . We also start watch Romeo and Vincent trying to resolve the mystery about what happened to the little ghost, that was definitely so sad, that need to bring to justice those who are involved. A new characters will make Greg a little jealous and will help him realize something things about him. I am so excited about the next book because this one end on a cliffhanger, OMG!!!! This is a paranormal romance with a lot of different shifters and it’s definitely a good serie! I’m looking forward more!
I am loving this series so much I have a hard time waiting for the next book each time!!! The world and characters created here are so unique! Romeo and Vincent have some of the hottest shifter chemistry I have ever read. My favorite part about it is that it is steam fun, but still has some mystery and angst at the same time!!! In this book we get several other character's POVs so we are drawn into the more angsty and serious relationship of Greg and Sam! The multiple POVs brings so much more depth to the world and all of the characters!! I recommend you start at the beginning with the prequel as this series builds book by book!! This one is a cliffhanger so be prepared to want the next book bad!!! I received an ARC of this book and I recommend this series as an original shifter world with twists and turns!
Patricia Logan has been a long-time favorite author of mine. Whether writing sexy scenes or scenes of high emotion, she just has a way with words. So when I saw her name attached to a paranormal fantasy I knew it had to be good and I had to read it. True Blue is a great book with a cast of characters like no other. Shifters of all sorts, magic and psychic abilities, even the Sheriff is a Magical Unicorn. This is book two of the series, although the series does also have a prequel in addition, but I don’t feel like you absolutely have to read the prequel and book 1 to get the gist of the story. Patricia is very good at recounting the important info for new readers without making it too redundant for those who’ve read the series.
So many different shifters amazingly in one series and heartwarming. Another winner so much happening within the pages, at the beginning of each chapter you have a letter to the editor brilliant laugh out loud moments I adore Patricia’s humour, characters care about each other, naturally some evil. Romeo and Vincent continue to have sexy scenes that left me burning and ending on another WOW factor. Impatiently waiting for the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I absolutely recommend this book.
The supernatural world of Prospect Woods continues in this 2nd book of the series. And still the horrendous murders continue. Only now Vincent is visited by "a little ghost" who only Vincent sees (at first) who puts Vincent on the quest of finding this little ghost's body because he is caught between two worlds. This interwoven plot is both tragic and fascinating. Humans have committed unspeakable acts and justice must be meted out. The twists and turns of this series bind the reader to finish but the ending will surprise all who do get to "The End". More is promised to come in the next book and I for one look forward to what this ending holds in store for Book #3 True Blue.
I love Patricia style of writing not only does she make each book enjoyable she keeps all the threads going throughout the series.
It’s important to read the prequel True Knight and book 1 True Mate to really get a feel for these characters, their person journeys, their love, their fierce protective natures towards their mates. You know with Ms Logan there will be humour and laughs along the way and her letters to the editor really show her sense of humour.
Like the other Prosper Woods Chronicles, each have good plot lines and keep you guessing, but as a whole just wow.
I can’t wait to read True Prince if only to see how the last line in True Blue plays out. Brillant
I really, really like the Letters to the Editor. They make me snicker and snort. “Things were about to heat up in Prosper Woods…” Truer words. So, hmm, there’s a lot unpack after reading this and it’s full of surprises and twists. Things that I can share: the scenes with Blue pulled at my heartstrings; I’m enjoying how Roman and Vincent’s love is ever strong and chuckle at Vincent’s choice of drink; and I adore all of the varied friendships that are developing in this town. I have a feeling those friendships will come in handy in the next book. I still have so many questions, especially after the bombshell ending. Can’t wait to see what happens next and I still really want to visit Prosper Woods.
This book was so good! There is so much happening in Prosper Woods. Vincent and Rome are still going strong. Werewolves, Greg and Sam are discovering new aspects of their friendship. Everyone is banding together to help the ghost-boy Blue find some peace in the afterlife, and we still have so many enemies that need to be defeated. This book had me on the edge of my seat a few times. I have fallen in love with so many of these characters and I find myself cheering for them at every turn. This is a really fun and interesting series! I did receive a copy of this from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review and recommendation.
Really good and definitely not a stand alone! In the previous story we meet Blue, who’s a ghost child that only a few can see and talk to. He asks Vincent to find his body so that he can rest. I love how Romeo and Vincent worked to find Blue. The mystery was really good and heart breaking! We also get more of Greg and Sam’s story. I love how each of the chapters start with a letter to the editor of the Prosper Woods Chronicle! So freakin funny!!I’m voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received.
What an amazing unique series this is. I love the mix of paranormals. You will definitely be laughing at times but also make note that there is some ugly here too. Thankfully it doesn’t go into too much detail. I felt so many emotions while reading this. Anger and pain as well as laughter and bafflement. On that last one think Greg and Sam. Plus the level of ticked off is off the charts. I want to do major damage to Sergio and his gang as well as to Ralph and his disgusting cohorts. Man I’m still vibrating with anger over all that they have done. From the spying, the children, and to the guys. That’s how you know when you’ve got a phenomenal read! When you put it down and you are still connected. Patricia Logan has done it again.
This was such a good installment in the Prosper Woods Chronicles. We get to see more of Romeo and Vincent as well as more POVs from the huge cast of side characters. We also start to see the relationship between Greg and Sam start to pick up. This definitely had some sad elements with the ghost being a young boy who was murdered. I am super excited to read the next book in the series because this one does end on a cliffhanger. I do want to mention that I would not recommend reading these stories out of order. I think it would be too confusing to do so.
I'm having such a good time with this series! Love Rome & Vincent & the cast of characters, weird & diverse as they are, friends, enemies, mates, family, it's nuts! The letters to the editor are still some of my favorite parts of these books! This is one of those series that you just let go & have fun with, you can't take it too seriously, it loses some of its appeal. Just read, and enjoy - or listen! Wow, that curveball at the end, leading to the next book - didn't see THAT comin! Great job.
I knew I was going to love this series after reading book one and this book confirms that. I love the relationship between Romeo and Vincent that just keeps getting stronger in this book. The town of Prosper Woods has some great characters and just like with a paranormal Twin Peaks they are all over the map with their quirks and secrets. Some strong bonds are forming in this entry, but it's clear from the ending they will all be tested and some will probably break in the next book. Can't wait to see how this all shakes out.
I am so in love with the characters of Romeo and Vincent: the unicorn sheriff and the vampire. It is such a unique story and I also love the other characters that get occasional POV time too like the two wolves and Sid. As Rome and Vincent try to solve the mystery of the death of the young ghost, they discover the former sheriff was definitely not a nice guy. And Floyd is still trying to cause trouble. And whew what an ending! I can’t wait to see where this story goes.
Patricia Logan’s True Blue picks up after Book 1 True Mate with the story of poor Blue, the ghost caught between two worlds that no one has even noticed is missing, except Vincent. It seems each book in this series is crazier than the last, and I am there for it. Ms. Logan’s world-building is amazing as is her character development. I just adore this series because it is so different and so absorbing and True Blue is a great addition to it.
Divertente come sempre. Pazienza Hugs&kisses
I am loving this series so much. This is just getting better and better. I love being back in Prosper Woods. This time Romeo and Vincent are trying to figure out what happen to the little ghost boy. I just can't get enough of all these characters and just couldn't stop reading. I definitely can't wait for the next book especially after that ending.
True Blue is a great addition to the Prosper Woods Chronicles series. Romeo and Vincent are the main characters and their commitment and love for each other just continues to grow. In addition we have quite the cast of secondary characters that bring so much to this series. I really enjoyed seeing the development of Greg and Sam's relationship. There is mystery, action, some angst, humor and snark to carry you through the story. I can't wait for the next installment in this series!
Friends, enemies, lovers, humor, action, surprises...this story has it all. I absolutely love the multiple POVs. It adds variety, life and substance to the story. The characters are great, and the romance between Vincent and Romeo is off the charts. I love the town of Prosper, where supernaturals come to play.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
