Amelia Kirkland’s been head-over-heels for Teague Sullivan forever. Not that she’s ever let him know—as her brother’s best friend, he’s officially off-limits. That’s even more true once they become partners in rehabbing a historic inn. She can’t risk what she’s building with her brother and her friends just to fulfill a lifelong crush. Can she?
When Teague left the Special Forces, he didn’t know what would come next. Until his best friend, Alex, won an inn as a lottery prize and made him a partner. It’s his shot at getting everything he’s always wanted. Except for Alex’s beautiful sister. Amelia’s friendship was a lifeline while he was deployed, but that’s a line he can’t cross. He owes his friend too much to betray his trust. Now, though? Working and living with her every day? He wants more.
If their secret romance is discovered, it could ruin everything before the inn has a chance. But does their one shot at happiness require them to break all the rules?

I was equally excited and afraid to read this book. There was a lot of potential in the first book in the series, but it missed the mark–not by much though. This one could have gone either way. But this time, the author offered a story close to perfection.
I wasn’t a big fan of how fast the feelings between Amelia and Teague evolved–it felt like a chapter or two were missing to have a more natural evolution. But the characters themselves, and the way they express their feelings… THAT I loved very much. Even their friendship before they become a couple was absolutely adorable. I loved that they had a deep connection that was just slightly different than between siblings, just enough to blur the line.
Teague’s story was heartbreaking. We learn bit by bit what his childhood was like, and how he felt during his time in Special forces. Compared to how he acts with his friends, it made him a very interesting character. I feel like he didn’t get a full closure, though. As for Amelia, she’s the baby who’s growing up. But she too has some past trauma.
What I enjoyed the most? The writing. The various images, inspired by Amelia’s passion for plants and Teague’s past in the army, created a colorful picture of their story–a word fabric, if you will, of interwoven metaphors. The content was a strong as the form though, and there were several beautiful scenes, not only between Amelia and Teague, but also between them and their close friends.
Strong emotions, well defined characters, and a compelling writing style–as I said, close to perfection.
Quickie
- Series: Love lottery #3 (can be read as a standalone) - Hashtags: #small town romance #friends to lovers #best friend’s little sister #age gap - Triggers: mention of war violence (nothing explicit), past domestic violence - Main couple: Amelia Kirkland & Teague Sullivan - Hotness: 4/5 - Romance: 5/5 - + Teague’s absolute devotion to Amelia - – I didn’t see the shift from friendship to romantic love until it was said it was already true years before… what?
Wrong for Him is book three in the Love Lottery series by Christi Barth. I haven't read anything by this author and while I enjoyed the story, I believe I would have benefited by reading the first two books. Although I felt a little left behind, the story was an easy to read and entertaining one. I love a brothers best friend love story, and this one delivered all the good elements that make these stories unputdownable. It was really good and the characters were easy to relate to and the storyline believable. Engaging and lovely, this sweet romance had just enough edgy passionate moments and wit to keep the intrigue at a high. Great cast. Great depth. Great writing. 4 stars.
I voluntarily read a advanced readers copy of this book for a honest opinion.
Wrong for Him by Christi Barth, third book in the Love Lottery series. Took me awhile to get into story but once I did I enjoyed it. A possible friend to lover storyline. Enjoyed spending time with these characters again.
It's no secret that I love the friends-to-lovers trope as much as I adore the best-friends-sister trope. And when it's a mashup of the two? I'm in bliss. I didn't really know what to expect when I picked this ARC up, especially since I hadn't read the first two books of the series. However, what I found was a super fun, funny, and romantic read that I polished off in a less than a day.
Amelia and Teague have known each other since she was small and he started coming over to spend time with his best friend Alex's family. Over the years, they've grown as close as brother and sister, and then even closer when Teague was overseas serving in Special Forces. Amelia wrote constantly and sent care packages that helped Teague through some dark days.
After Teague leaves the military and returns home, he becomes a unit with Alex, Amelia, and Amelia's best friend Everleigh. A spur of the moment Christmas lottery ticket purchase wins the four of them an inn located in Maryland. The four, who were each in the middle of some pretty big life changes, relocate from Pittsburgh to the small Maryland town to see if they can make it go of it.
Presumably the first two novels were spent on Alex's and then Ever's stories. This novel picks up several months in when Amelia moves into a room at the inn as Teague's roommate. Amelia has been crushing on Teague for years; Teague's interest is a little newer. Neither made a move earlier because of the guy BFF bro code. Eventually, they get together, keeping it a secret from Alex, of course.
Deep down, another wrench in the works is Teague feeling that he isn't good enough for Amelia (thanks, crappy father). For her part, Amelia unwittingly falls back into little-sister mode with Alex, and she needs to learn how to stand on her own two feet. It's hard, given that Alex raised her after their parents' deaths. Things eventually come to a head in a not unpredictable way. But Amelia and Teague are both just so likeable, I didn't mind.
I loved this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!
I did not read the first two stories in this series yet, but they are absolutely on my TBR list after reading this one! The story starts with a lottery win at the best possible time for the ‘family.’ It then goes into Amelia revealing to ‘us’ that she has been in love with Teague for many years. The whole beginning of the book is her heart and her brain arguing over the correct course of action. What do you do when you’re in love with your brother’s best friend – whom you grew up with – especially when he treats you like his very own little sister? You suck it up until everyone around you tells you what you need to hear – GO FOR IT. Teague’s side of the story really isn’t all that different. He wants her, he’s infatuated with her, but he is terrified of ruining his relationship with his best friend. Essentially, the two give in to their feelings and attempt to date in secret. Secrets that big never stay secrets for long – especially when you’re constantly around the person/people you’re attempting to keep it from. After everything that they have both been through in their pasts, it was heartwarming to see their love flourish and know that they got the happy ending that they both deserved. I will definitely be going back to read the first two (as I am extremely curious about the other couples), and I recommend you do the same! They’re sweet stories, easy to read in one or two sittings, and the characters are so easily lovable. Christi did an amazing job creating this world and these people. I look forward to reading more from her!
I love this series, with all that is within me, the author always brings together characters that mold perfectly together in more than one way. I love always the work they put into to reach the ending of their books for their characters. This one very much full of heart and a very happy wonderful read!
For me the story meshed super well together in more ways than one. Amelia had had real feelings for her brother's best friend, Teague for quite some time. She always knew it would be a crime to pursue, but can you really deny matters of the heart? Fate brings them together on a project set for the community. Unexpected to them both is that they both feel something real, and both seemed reluctant to act upon because they both knew what was at risk. Perhaps though this was what was meant to be all along and finally they both were getting the happiness they both so very much deserved.
I loved the characters straight up. I loved more though what came with those characters It be it their interests or more defiantly their pasts. I found back story really made Teague and Amelia whom they were. It made the story so much more powerful and very real. I honestly loved this book.
The book was very well written and it was very well done. I can say i very much enjoyed it and was overly impressed with the writing techniques that brought the story to life! It was a good read, and it really convinced me on all aspects, I would say this is for sure a novel worth reading!
So Amelia has been in love with Teague all of her life, but Teague has never seen her as anything but Alex's little sister, and extension of his. He is so close to her that he has lived on her stayed on her couch, the four friends, Amelia, Alex, Teague and Everleigh, buy a lottery ticket since they were all down on their luck and this was their Christmas present to each other and they won and this saves them since they were each out of a job. Amelia is happy and not so happy since that means she will have to see Teague every day and now she will never get over her crush. Unfortunately, since both Everleigh and her brother Alex have fallen in love Amelia and Teague have to share an apartment since it is the only place left to share that is not rentable for income, however this comes with a whole new set of issues! Teague cannot explain what the heck is going on, he is seeing Amelia in a whole new light, he has never been attracted to Amelia but now, he is seeing her as a women and not as a little sister, and while he always saw her as off-limits he just can't help himself, but he has to make sure that Alex, never ever finds out.. Yeah that is going to happen. I have to say that I didn't like how they handled that situation, when it blew up.
rcvd an ARC at no cost to author. (Netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
Really enjoyed Teague & Amelia’s story. Theirs was a relationship on the down low because a guy just isn’t supposed to date his best friends little sister. This story had many ups & downs as they traveled the course of true love & carried our hearts with them. For Amelia it’s a dream come true, because she’s crushed on & loved Teague for years. For Teague it was slow going as Amelia was his life line while he was enlisted in the Army’s Special Forces & her brother was his best friend. As their group grows & moves on with their lives & the Inn grows as well, Teague & Amelia are forced to live together so the cottages can be rented out. In the small confines of their little apartment love grows & can no longer be ignored. I enjoyed how Teague made them take things slow, it created a true sense of his feelings. I loved how he calmed Amelia after their near accident & how he treated her with love & respect. I also loved how Amelia could read Teague & understand his moods. It was also wonderful to see her as a comfort to him. And we can’t forget all the friends they made in their new hometown that had their backs. I also enjoyed the added little bonus of seeing James & Nora finally become a couple. Definitely recommend this book & series to read. Thank you to Tule publishing for letting me read this book for an honest review.
This is the 3rd book in this wonderful series by Christie Barth, but each book has its own story and HEA. I have loved this series of 4 friends having a winning lottery ticket, winning an inn, and then realizing they have to completely refurbish it and move to Chesterfield, MD from their home in Pittsburgh. Teague and Amelia are the stars of this book, and this was a great friends to lovers genre….along with Teague being best friends with Alex and Alex being Amelia’s big brother and they have to work to make the inn a success. Lots of angst and sneaking around but when they made it to the end, it was a perfect ending. Great characters all around, and I so enjoyed each story
This story is about Amelia Kirkland and Teague Sullivan. Teague is best friends with Amelia's brother Alex. Amelia has always had feelings for Teague, that is until they move in together. Teague, Alex, Ever, and Amelia won a hotel and decided they would all move into and run the hotel together. Teague and Amelia share the same apartment. Now Amelia has to figure out if she will embrace her feelings for Teague or if she will let them go forever. This is the third book of the Love Lottery series. I did not read the first two books, I feel that it is not necessary. It's a good story. I liked it.
Probably my favorite book in the series! I couldn’t wait to read Amelia and Teague’s story, and Ms. Barth didn’t disappoint! With Teague’s background it was easy to understand how he could always expect the worst. But, Amelia gave his beleaguered heart something to yearn for. The relationships between these friends are sometimes to strive for. A wonderful book!
Amelia has loved her brother’s best friend since she was a teenager. Teague only saw her as Alex’s younger sister. She is determined to come out of the sister ranking and go after what she wants: Teague. Chemistry and romance takes over until they meet a force to be reckoned with. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Finally got around to reading this book and I thought it was such a great read. This author is new to me and I will definitely have to check out her other books. Teague's and Amelia's story takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions in the best way possible and if you love the best friend's brother trope then this is for you! I loved seeing how their friendship slowly became into something more and overall this was very well written and I loved this book!
****ARC was provided to me by Netgalley, but all opinions are my own**
I love reading a book series because it gives me the feeling of coming home. Wrong for Him is book three in the Love Lottery series. I fell in love with the cast of characters in book one and my love only grew larger in book two. At the end of book three I felt like they were my family. There is ‘prim and proper/OCD’, Alex, who has a sister named Amelia. Amelia is the guru of landscaping and always wearing gardening clothes. Amelia and Everleigh are best friends. Everleigh is the latest fashion trend and social butterfly. Alex and Teague are best friends. Teague is the retired military buff. Therefore, Teague and Alex are like brothers to Everleigh. Teague is like a brother to Amelia. The main characters were brilliantly created in an opposites attract kind of way. They would tease and banter with one another making me laugh. They had each other’s back when something went wrong. They were in every sense a family. Technically they either came from a broken family or didn’t have a family.
The four main characters that I listed above are from the city and they play a lottery and win a historical inn located in a small town. The adjustment from city to country is a hoot. What I especially loved was how they were welcomed by the small town. The cast of characters grew spellbound and yet each new character was well developed and relatable. I’d go as far to say they are unforgettable.
It’s worth mentioning in my book two review I voiced my concern over not seeing a book four listed or to be announced. I was really looking forward to a love story between Nora, the inn cook and James the high school shop teacher. Well, I’m ecstatic to tell you that Nora and James’s love story was included in book three, Wrong for Him. It was a double romance story. Two for one. Although, the main romance was between Teague and Amelia. Therefore, I’ll stay focused on them.
Teague and Amelia are the classic “friends turned lovers” trope. It was tricky because Teague is Amelia’s brother, Alex’s best friend. They have the “best friend code about not dating sisters”. Teague is seven years older than Amelia. Teague also was adjusting to civilian life after leaving the military. Amelia had childhood trauma she was working through that affected her relationships with her brother and Teague’s. She was no longer a child and wanted to be taken seriously by the people that she loved and respected. The romance between Teague and Amelia is heartwarming, sensual, complicated and genuine.
There is more than meets the eye when regarding the plot. I was pleasantly surprised with the plot regarding the inn’s cupola. Readers will know what I’m talking about when they get to that part. I’m sad the series has come to an end. I will cherish the entertainment it provided me. I appreciated the epilogue at the end, let’s just say it gave me a definite ‘book glow’. I will have to add Christi Barth to my favorite author list. I absolutely loved her writing style in all three books in the series. The Love Lottery Book series will go on my keeper shelf.
Wrong For Him is another book in the Love Lottery series and it does not disappoint. Teague and Amelia have been best friends and family for many years and their relationship has been solid for years, but Amelia has harbored a secret crush on him forever. They are forced to move in together temporarily and sparks fly in this best friends to lovers story.
The characters are just so sweet and lovable, and their chemistry is so strong. It was a great book and a fitting end to the series.
Trigger warning - there are a couple of scenes of trauma flashbacks and a real open and honest portrayal of panic attacks.

Totally rooting for these two!
In the third and final book in the Love Lottery series we get Amelia and Teague’s love story. She’s his very best friends littles sister, his business partner and probably one of his truest friends. Can they risk loosing everyone to be together. Can he show her she’s worth the risk or will he sacrifice his true happiness not to hurt those they love. The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.
Authors blurb: Amelia Kirkland’s been head-over-heels for Teague Sullivan forever. Not that she’s ever let him know as her brother’s best friend, he’s officially off-limits. If their secret romance is discovered, it could ruin everything before the inn has a chance. But does their one shot at happiness require them to break all the rules?
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Wrong for Him by Christi Barth is the 3rd book in her Love Lottery series. Refresher: When things were tough, Amelia bought lottery tickets for herself, her brother, Alex, her best friends, Ever and Teague. They ended up winning the lottery, which gave them a historic inn on the Maryland shore. The Inn is in bad shape, totally dilapidated, but they are determined to work hard to renovate and manually repair the Inn, and hope they can make some money when it is restored.
The first book heroes are Alex, whose money helped start the renovation and Sydney. The second book was for Ever and the town police chief, Matt. In Wrong for Him, we have been waiting for Amelia and Teague. We knew Amelia had a crush on Teague since she was a kid, but he only saw her as his best friend’s (Alex) baby sister. Amelia is determined to tease Teague into looking at her in another light, not as a sister or friend. With the inn now open, finances still very tight, Amelia and Teague are forced share a suite together. Amelia takes advantage to entice Teague, trying on different (sexy) dresses for his opinion. This was fun to watch, as Teague found himself aroused for every change of clothes, and desperately fights off his attraction to Amelia. In a short time, both of them can no longer deny their chemistry, and a secret affair begins.
Teague still gets nightmares from his days with the special forces, and Alex has always been there for him. As much as he can’t resist Amelia, they both know Alex will go crazy if he finds out about their affair; but neither can stop, as they realize they are falling in love. Amelia and Teague were such a great couple, you can’t help but root for them to find a way to stay together. Everything will fall apart, when Alex does find out, and Teague takes it upon himself to break up with Amelia. Will the family be able to convince Alex, and bring them back together? You will need to read this book to find out.
Wrong For Him was another sweet, charming romance that was very well written by Christi Barth. It was great to spend time with them all, Alex & Sydney, Ever & Matt, Nora, and Amelia & Teague. I wholly suggest you read this fun romantic story, which had a great couple, wonderful characters, and sexy. If you have not started this series, then you should read the first book, even if this reads well as a standalone.
I received an arc of Wrong For Him by Christi Barth from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the last book in the Love Lottery trilogy. What a wonderful book and series of books. Book 3 was the story of the other 2 partners not previously featured, who won the inn from a lottery ticket. It was a delightful best friend’s little sister romance. The two were also best friends from their many years of hanging out and sharing experiences. Both Amelia and Teague secretly had strong romantic feelings for the other but neither wanted to jeopardize their friendship or their relationship with Amelia’s brother Alex.
The 4 owners get the inn up and running and the other partners, Alex and Ever, both meet their forever loves and move from the shared cottages. Teague and Amelia move into a tiny apartment above the pool house to save money. Both feel the other is off limits as they don’t want to jeopardize what they have. However, as they spend their evenings and time off together, they talk and share their hopes and dreams for the future. Teague had recently left his army role in special forces and Amelia had lost her apartment and prospective job before they moved to Maryland. Teague had come from a sad home life and Amelia lost her parents when she was vey young. Both were making places for themselves in their new forever home and were envious of the couples that had found each other. They decide to try a secret relationship so that Amelia’s brother and Teague’s best friend Alex would be clueless. Other friends are aware of the new relationship but they are afraid to tell Alex. Both of them have strong feelings for the other but also don’t want to ruin their life long friendship. There is a lot of sweet and steamy romance between the couple. There are also some very poignant moments when Teague opens up to Amelia about his life growing up, offering other reasons why he was afraid to go to the next level with her.
I loved the characters and their interactions with each other. The author does a fantastic job of including the core 4 plus their significant others, new friends and their family in all 3 books. There was a lot of angst in this book as I was worried what would happen with Teague and Amelia’s relationship. It’s a 5 star book and trilogy. I highly recommend the Love Lottery books by Christ Barth.
Christi Barth’s Wrong For Him, is a story about a group of four friends that stick together to support each other. Alex and Amelia are siblings, but when their parents died in a car crash when Amelia was 11 years old, Alex became her legal guardian. Tasked with raising Amelia, Alex became overprotective and felt the need to continue his role even after she became an adult. Teague was Alex’s best friend and had lived with him off and on before the death of his parents. Everleigh was getting over a boyfriend that she had caught cheating on, but kicked her out of the apartment. All four formed a tight family type unit. They were together at Christmas, where they had agreed not to buy presents, since all of them were down on their luck and not sure if they would even have a home by New Years. When Amelia gets an email notification, she opens it and shows the winning lottery ticket, making Alex the new owner of the Three Oaks Inn in Chestertown, Maryland. Alex decided that all four of them would be owners, and they would all start fresh with a new life.
There is one small problem with their plan. The Inn required a full overhaul. After investing all of his savings into fixing the Inn, Amelia found herself moving into the top floor of the Inn’s pool house with Teague. Everleigh had moved in with her new boyfriend, and Alex had moved in with his new girlfriend. When Amelia gets asked to speak at a county garden club, she reveals her feelings about Teague to Daisy, the grandmother of Alex’s girlfriend. Daisy tells her to try to pursue her love interest. The following day, the pair go exploring a cupola that was not rentable yet. What they find inside, causes Teague to reminisce on the care packages Amelia had sent him while he was in the military. Despite concerns about losing a friendship with Alex for Teague and even a friendship they already had, the two begin their secret romance. How long will they be able to keep their relationship a secret? If it is discovered, will the family unit get destroyed?
Wrong for Him by Christi Barth Love Lottery, Book 3 Amelia Kirkland’s been head-over-heels for Teague Sullivan forever. This is Amelia Kirkland and Teague Sullivan's story. But the joy of sharing the holiday dinner with only the three people closest to her in the world meant that she didn’t have to be on her best behavior. She could be real, instead. And real absolutely included poking at her older brother. She warmed at the compliment. Sure, comparing her to the cooks in his Army Special Forces unit was a pretty low bar. “Well, my last decade of Christmas dinners were in a tent in Afghanistan or Iraq.” Teague Sullivan, her brother’s best friend, raised his wineglass in a silent toast. “So Alex may be blowing smoke, but I can unequivocally state that this was the this was the best one I’ve had in years. Thanks, Amelia.” But any compliment from Teague set her pulse thrumming and her cheeks heating. Wrong for Him by Christi Barth is a 4 star book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Wrong for Him (The Love Lottery Series Book 3) by Christi Barth
5 out of 5 Stars
This book is amazing!!! I was hooked from about page 3. I grew frustrated, just like Amelia, as she and Teague took forever to find their way to each. I almost threw my phone down in anger later. I continue to root for the Inn to be a success. I was so proud of Sydney taking control of the situation between Amelia and Alex. If you haven’t read the other books in this series (like myself), buy them now and plan for a long weekend of getting lost in the world of Chestertown.
Teague Sullivan has had two best friends for as long as he can remember, Alex and his little sister Amelia. Alex knows almost everything about him. Teague knew there were somethings that even his best friend didn’t need to or couldn’t know about his time in the Army. Amelia had been his friend, his lifeline, his anchor during his last deployments. Now he was starting to realize that there was much more to his feelings for Amelia. But could he violate bro code and date his best friend’s little sister?
Amelia Kirkland has been in love with Teague for as long as she can remember. She knows that he will never see her as anything but Alex’s sister. Thanks to the Inn and other circumstances, she now will be sharing an apartment with Teague. Amelia realizes that it will be extremely difficult to live with the only man she has ever loved as roommates. Can she make Teague realize that there is more to her than being Alex’s little sister? If that doesn’t work, can they go back to being just friends?
The family of characters in this series is amazing. I can’t wait to read the others.
Wrong for Him by Christi Barth is a sweet forbidden romance. One where the best friend’s little sister is off limits. While reading it I got a Hallmark movie feel from it, which definitely kept me interested. Christi Barth did not disappoint, I loved this book! Amelia, Alex, Everleigh, and Teague were going through a rough patch in their lives. Until one Christmas Eve that all changed. They bought these scratch-offs thinking nothing could come of it, little did they know they were about to win a quaint little Inn in Chestertown, MD. This story revolves around the trials and tribulations of running an Inn with your best friends and family. Would it work out? Would they fail? You would have to take a gander to find out for sure. On top of all that, there's a forbidden romance building between Amelia and Teague. Amelia being Alex’s little sister and Teague’s best friend is off-limits. Unfortunately for either one of them, trying to navigate the feelings that they develop for one another is a different story. Christi Barth did a wonderful job keeping me as the reader, “in the wanting to know what happens next category, between Teague and Amelia.” Also how that dynamic would affect the Inn they are running together as a whole. If you have a guilty pleasure of watching Hallmark movies like I do, this book is definitely for you!
Wrong For Him is the third book in the Love Lottery series by Christi Barth. This isn’t my first read from Ms. Barth- but it turned out to be my favourite (so far). I have come into this series at the back end, woops- something I do quite regularly, lol. Again, I was caught up by the blurb and failed to notice that it was the third and final book in the series. But, having said that, I never felt as though I was missing anything by not having read the other instalments first. Although now my curiosity has bee piqued, and having enjoyed this book, I will definitely be grabbing a copy of the other two books to read too. I have to admit though that the story was just a little slow to get going and it did take me a little while to ‘get into’ and connect with the characters- but once I did, the story took off. This is a bit of a mix of romance ‘tropes’- as there is a friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, and secret romance/relationship blend happening here. This combination worked really well and I loved the added angst, drama, and emotion that this recipe brought to the table. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for Ms Barth’s next book release to jump into…
Amelia has been attracted to her brother's best friend for as long as she can remember, he was her first love and no one has really matched him, but when she starts a job and they are working together can she keep it professional or will the sparks fly.
Teague is back to his home town after leaving the specials forces but she was always the light at the end of the tunnel. Amelia is his best friends sister and has always been off limits but his attraction has always been strong, but when they start working together sparks fly between and before time they are declaring their love for each other.
This story is the first I have read by this author and I loved the writing, I thought the characters were well developed and the chemistry between the two main characters jumped off the page. Although that said I did feel that the relationship was sped up and before you know it Teague and Amelia were friends on one page and the next they were desperately in love and I got a bit confused if I had skipped some pages or even a chapter but this did not distract from the story.
The secondary characters also added to the story and I really enjoyed the romantic aspect and can't wait for the next book in this series.
This was a great 4 star read. It started out a little slow for me but picked up a few chapters in.
Amelia is starting over after a cheating ex. After winning an old inn through a lottery she embarks on a new adventure with her brother and his best friend, Teague. The best friend that she has crushed on for years. And it gets even more interesting when she ends up living at the inn with Teague while they are remodeling.
Of course old feelings start to come back to her and she wonders if he looks at her as more. I had some LOL moments with the things she would do to get his attention.
Teague is trying to do the right thing and not show more for Amelia. She is his best friend's little sister. But she was the one person who helped him get through his deployment and it meant alot to him. Will he be able to keep things platonic or will he let things go too far?
Overall this was a good read. I really enjoyed all of the characters, they added a great element to the story. This was a fun couple to read about. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.
Wrong For Him Love Lottery Book 3 By Christi Barth ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a story of chance. It all started out as a small group of friends and the struggles life has offered them. By chance lottery tickets were bought and someone got the prize of a lifetime. There is a secret stirring of a romance. Amelia wants more from Teague and he feels the same. But the two fight their inner thoughts. Now working together every day could be a challenge. How will Amelia and Teague keep from letting their hearts be known. Will this cause hardship between them and Alex? Afterall Alex is Amelia's big brother and Teague's best friend. Reading this story could answer those questions.
Christi Barth, WOW! Christi Barth has written a 3rd book to this series. It will draw you in just as the others did. It opens more hearts than the characters alone can. The characters are a true balance of friends, ones we would love to know ourselves. Once I started I could not put it down. This story has all the feels of a strong romance. I truly enjoyed reading Wrong For Him. I recommend you read the complete series, as it is a building of friendship, and a story of love. Well Done Christi Barth. Well Done!
Amelia’s and Teague’s story in Wrong for Him (Love Lottery #3) by Christi Barth is one I have been waiting to read. These two have been dancing around each other since the beginning of the series. It is time for them to act on their feelings. I never thought Alex, Amelia’s brother, would be that surprised anyway.
This was everything that I had hoped it would be. As the inn renovations are being done these two finally act on those feeling. They decide to keep the relationship a secret. It is not a forbidden relationship except in their minds but secret it is. That really is part of the fun of this story which I see as a friendship to love with a lot of lust involved too. I would have been disappointed in the series if it had ended any other way for Amelia and Teague. Loved the epilogue which includes the whole group one year later than when this series began.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Third in the Love Lotteries series, Wrong for Him is a lovely blend of the friends to lovers, secret romance and best friend’s sister tropes. I could have enjoyed this story on its own but it really does read better if you’ve already read books one and two. The gorgeous Three Oaks Inn at Chestertown, Maryland makes a wonderful setting for the story. I’ve loved watching Amelia, the heroine of this story, her brother Alex, best friend Everleigh and hero Teague Sullivan renovate and rejuvenate the old inn while their various romances unfolded. Amelia and Teague work well together and I really felt for them as their guilt built over keeping their developing relationship from Alex. At the same time I couldn’t help wishing they’d just bite the bullet and tell him they were in love. This story is strong on family and community and that sense of belonging you get when people truly accept you as sort of their group. I whizzed through the pages and can honestly say that this book closes out the series very nicely.
Wrong for Him by Christi Barth is book three of the Love Lottery series. This book can be read as a standalone but if you want to get the whole feel of the series and meet the other characters, start with book one. I didn’t but will definitely be going back to read the other two books. This book is Amelia and Teague’s story.
Amelia and Teague have history. He is Amelia’s brother’s best friend. Clearly that makes him off limits. Especially since Alex made him a partner in the inn they are restoring. Teague is really appreciative of Amelia’s friendship, especially while he was deployed. Which is another reason crossing the line with her seems like a bad idea. Can they have a secret relationship and not burn Al of their bridges?
I read enjoyed this book! I really like the characters. Teague fought so hard to fight his attraction to Amelia. He wanted to do what he felt was the right thing, even if that meant sacrificing his own happiness. There was so much emotion packed into this book!
