Ruth Cardello hit the NYTs and USA Today for the first time back in 2012. Millions of sales are evidence that her books are akin to potato chips, addictive from the first one. She has created a multi-series billionaire world with a combination of escapism and realism that has gained her a faithful following of readers.
What Kindle Reviewers write about her:
"Wow hot at every page. Heart stoping, fear raging, mind blowing wonderful."
"I'm a true fan of Ms. Cardello. I ran on to her first book a few years back and have been hooked ever since. I could go on and on about the story like of this book, but I'm not. All of her books are total page turners, unique, heart wrenching, and I love them all. There isn't two alike in the bunch and I feel like i know the characters personally. I personally read 97 authors books. And I buy every book they put out. This author is in my top 10. Great job and keep them coming."
"Love this series. Got me to start reading again. I look forward to the next book. Thank you for giving me the love of reading back."
Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of 11 children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She spent her young adult years moving as far away as she could from her large extended family. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York--then came full circle and moved back to New England. She now happily lives one town over from the one she was born in. For her, family trumped the warmer weather and international scene.
She was an educator for 20 years, the last 11 as a kindergarten teacher. When her school district began cutting jobs, Ruth turned a serious eye toward her second love- writing and has never been happier. When she's not writing, you can find her chasing her children around her small farm or connecting with her readers online.

A fantastic addition to the Andrade series. This series is truly one of my all time favorites and each book seems to get better and better. This is Luke's story. Always the peacemaker of the family, he now has to face to ugly truth behind his mother's bitterness. When he meets Cassie the last thing he expects is to find love, but her gentle nature and loving heart are just what his battered soul needs.
This is one I highly recommend for everyone's must read list.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋💋 Luke’s story is a real heartbreaker. The calm , always there , strong rock of the family, finally breaks under the strain . Cassie is there to put him back together, but will he stay with her or run again from the responsibilities that a relationship puts on him . Such a great story.
I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
That being said. I fell in love with Luke in the first Andrade book. He has always been the family peacemaker. He walked the line trying to appease everyone in the family. When his brothers fought he was the glue that brought them back together. As they have all found the loves of their lives he found them connecting more and more but he still felt it was a strained relationship by all. Cassie came from a troubled past. She took a leap of faith moved to a new town and started over. She found herself finding a family she craved but still felt like something was missing. They find themselves meeting at a funeral. The connection they have is great. I laughed and cried through this story. This is my favorite book of the Andrade's. Loved what can happen somewhere along the way.
I love Luke and Cassie story. Of all the Andrade men Luke is the peacemaker the drama free doctor. Love the unfolding of events in this story. Though this is book 4 each story is a stand alone. Loving this series and those Andrade men
The sweetest Andrade brother gets his cupcake and eats it!
Soooo… this is book four and the last of the Andrade brothers to get their love story. I’ll say it again… if you have read the other 3 books before picking up this one… STOP… put this down and start at the very beginning and by that, I don’t mean the beginning of the Andrade Series, I mean the very beginning with The Legacy Collection. The series works best if you have the full picture and that means starting from Dominic Corisi’s story Maid for the Billionaire and then working your way through. They are all awesome stories and you won’t regret it.
Luke Andrade… always been my favourite. He’s sweet, caring, and loyal. He’s the one who has always tried to keep his brothers together and even though every gathering usually ended in some kind of disagreement or fall out, he kept trying. But now all his brothers had begun to settle down, he needed to start living his life for himself. Following the death of one of his patients-turned-friends, Emma, he starts questioning where his life is heading. With the relationship between the brothers and his mother at an all time low, he doesn’t feel the need to stick around for her or them anymore.
Cassie Daiver is also at a point in her life where she doesn’t know what is next. She also attends Emma’s funeral, the woman that inspired her to take hold of her life and live it. They’d never met, but Emma’s battle with cancer and courage she showed to face it head on told Cassie she needed to take control and put her past behind her.
When she literally bumps into the gorgeousness that is Dr. Luke Andrade there is instant desire, but no man like that could possibly want a woman like her… but that’s where she’s completely wrong. When he calls her Bed & Breakfast to ask for a room to take shelter from the incoming snowstorm she puts up the barriers. She doesn’t need a man in her life. She has her plan and although it involves a family, she never envisioned a man being part of that, however the more Luke pursues his obvious interest in Cassie, the more those barriers start to crumble. One night turns into two, one week turns into more and even though Cassie is waiting for the bubble to burst, Luke just keeps proving to her that he wants to be with her.
Just when Luke has set his heart on staying with Cassie in her little town in Ohio, he is called back to New York when his mother is taken gravely ill. Will their relationship last the separation or will Cassie’s insecurities and troubled past being up too many anxieties.
It’s another kick for Luke. He’s tried to stay away from his mothers poison but he can’t deny his brothers when they need him. But the revelations from his mothers deathbed hit Luke hard. He’d always hoped that her cruelty towards them was some kind of tough love but her confessions provide his brothers with the knowledge that their mother had never loved them as a mother should because her bitterness ran too deep.
When we see Luke fall apart it breaks my heart because this man was always the ‘fixer’ the level-headed, down to earth brother that always saw the good in everyone. He fought to keep his family together but just when everyone is finding their future, Luke is struggling to find his way out of the past.
There’s only one thing he wants now… and that’s his cupcake. But he knows he’s hurt her. Will he be able to regain that trust and move forward to the life he decides he wants.
This is an emotional rollercoaster and I really feel for the lead characters. Cassie has so many insecurities that it holds her back from trusting anyone. Luke has so much love to give, but he’s tormented by everything his family are going through. Could he consider bringing such a delicate flower into his world of thorns?
Amazing story and can I just say… ding dong the witch is dead!!! Now hopefully the family can rebuild and find their places in the world… and their half sister, Gigi!
Dr Luke Andrade is the least volatile and emotional of all the Andrade brothers. He's always been the peacekeeper and the one trying the hardest to hold them all together. But a meeting with his mother where she spewed her bitter vitriol and the death of a patient who became a friend has shaken Luke to his core. He meets Cassie Daiver while in a small Ohio town for his friend's funeral. A fast-moving blizzard forces Luke to stay in town and the only place available is Cassie's bed and breakfast, Home Sweet Home. From the moment he sees her in her kitchen with a spot of blue frosting on her face Luke wants her. Cassie is drawn to Luke is not very trusting of anyone given her harsh upbringing. She tries desperately to keep Luke at arm's length but the attraction is just too strong. She does not want to be a vacation fling but decides to take a leap of faith when Luke assures her that she's far more than that. Almost two weeks of pure bliss passes before Luke gets a call and he must return to New York for a family emergecy and he wants to go without her. No matter how hard she tries, she thinks he's abandoned her. Deciding to take matters into her own hands she goes to New York to be with him. At first Luke is shocked to find her in New York but realizes he needs her and ends up taking her to the hospital when his mother is conscious and alert. Thinking that they may finally get some answers from Patrice Stanfield - Andrade the brothers gather around their mother's bed along with their Uncle Victor. Patrice ends up viciously relating all the reasons why she's never loved her sons, hated her husband George and his brother Victor and how she has been bent on revenge all the years since she married George. Luke is undone by his mother's admissions and even though she dies from a heart attack momentarily after her admissions Luke can't bring himself to see her even in death. He escapes New York after telling Cassie that he loves her but he needs time alone. She finally returns home and tries to resume her life without him. Luke, however, has different plans and sends for her and her friends to come to an Andrade family gathering. Cassie doesn't know what to expect but a proposal is a farthest thing from her mind. When she accepts the entire family erupts into cheers. There's going to be a quadruple Andrade family wedding and won't it be grand!
Fantastic another great book in this series, I just knew that Luke's story would be good, he was the glue that kept the brothers together and smoothed over all of their tribulations but he is suddenly beginning to reevaluate his role especially when he loses a friend and travels to Ohio for her funeral where he meets Cassie a woman who knocks him sideways, she herself is somewhat damaged and finds it hard to trust. They become deeply involved but then he witnesses his mothers death and some truths come out Cassie is there for him but he runs away. He eventually realises he can't live without her and throws a huge party to propose. All the brothers now have their partners the only thing left is to get their half sister Gigi to accept them. More of the problems that their mother caused have come to light also her deception over her husbands will can't wait for Gigi's story. This whole series has been great and each book difficult to put down once you start reading just love this Andrade's family.
I first read a fair few of this authors books through my library many years ago but all my reviews posted from then are no longer available. Finding this author has joined Kindle Unlimited, I am treating myself to a reread. Though I did enjoy this, I just didn’t feel a true connection between Luke and Cassie. Little romance and I thought Luke acted coldly towards Cassie, leaving her twice was just not nice. Cassie accepts it but that may be as she is so desperately wanting a family due to her terrible childhood. I have to say Maddy was more annoying in this one than usual and why Gio lies to make her feel better, I don’t know. Why was Maddy even at the hospital? A good rounding up of the brothers lives but I feel Patrice just got away with everything she did. Really felt it was lacking a conclusion as to why she did what she did and what her purpose was. Read in the box set through Kindle Unlimited.
A great beginning to a great romance. Love at first sight, alpha H, sweet, shy h, a great hea; what could be better? A little less of the convoluted mess in the middle, and this would have been an all time favorite, for me. As is, it started to feel that the writer had a word quota to work in, so she would just keep adding in fillers till the quota was met. Much too long, much too round and round for a good romance. It never reached the level of a full blown Scooby Doo Mystery, but was well on it's way. I wish romance writers would just give us romance. No 'intrigue', no mystery, no murder and mayhem. Just a plain, simple, ordinary romance. That would be good enough for me.
Luke is the last Andrade bachelor brother. He visits Ohio to attend the funeral of a previous patient, feeling guilty about her death even though he was no longer her doctor. There he meets Cassie the owner of a bed and breakfast who also sells baked goods. Luke's deceased patient is the reason why Cassie moved to Ohio a few years ago.
Cassie is afraid to let anything happen between them because she's been hurt by people before, but Luke is persistent. This story is about trust and how it can make a relationship work, or how the lack of it can break a relationship.
I was happy to see Luke meet his equal. They were made for each other.
A delightful read. Luke is the glue and sensible brother who meet Cassie who is going through her changes. From there all bets are off and the craziness begins. These characters are lovely and dramatic but have to figure out who they are and can they love. I cried, laughed and yelled at my damn kindle. The big family secret is revealed and all I could do is SMH. Angst filled and passionate. Heartfelt and intense. Onto the next book in this beautiful series.
The destructive attempts by a bitter women did not destroy the good hearted man or the love he had found in Ohio in a beautiful inn keeper. The Andrade clan sounds like a wonderful and lively group of people who despite their wealth are very down to earth where it matters and that is family. Luke and Cassie’s story was quick but oh so sweet. Cassie got a family and really Luke got his own family back.
I hope the distraction that his mother did to them doesn’t still come back and bit them from the grave.
This book is Somewhere Along The Way, book four of The Andrades series, written by Ruth Cardello. I know I keep saying it....but that’s because I mean it! This one was the best of the series! Dr Luke Andrades is such a kind and caring person. When he attends the funeral of a former patient he meets Cassie and things get better or worse from there. It’s a great series. Very well written with great characters!
Luke and Cassie are the main characters in the 4th book of the Andrade Brothers storyline. Luke the one always described as the peacemaker in all the other books shows a completely different characterization in the story. Luke is the surgeon in the family, and has lost a patient that meant a lot to him. He couldn’t heal Emma and feels like he failed her when she dies. He travels to Ohio to attend her funeral and meets Cassie, the woman who captures his heart.
I loved this book and was really excited about reading Luke’s story. He seemed like the most sentimental and caring of the brother’s. Loved how quickly he fell for Cassie. I did cry as he has some issues regarding his family. Loved how much she really wanted family and was touched towards the end, I had some happy tears. I highly recommend this book.
A very interesting novel series. Talk about drama, but the men finally know the truth about their parents. There's parts that are going to tear at your heart before the HEA. Like most ebooks, mistakes are pretty much inevitable not sure why with spell checkers and grammar assistance. It's pretty apparent these books aren't edited.
Luke the brother who tried to keep them together, just about gives up. Going to a friend's funeral in Ohio, he runs into a women. Cassie was attracted to Luke after running into him. Can they make it long term. Finally learn the secrets of the family. I was so happy since they have been hinting around since the first book ml
I loved this book. I want to read them all over again. These stories make my heart happy. Drama, intrigue, love, sex, hilarious antics. Fabulous characters. Can't wait for more. Definitely recommending
Luke fled to Defiance Ohio to attend a dear friend's funeral and find out who he was and what he wanted. There he met Cassie. Love at first sight for Luke. But circumstances ran roadblocks to impede Luke and Cassie love story. Good story.
I absolutely loved this whole series. It took me on a range of emotions every time; which I love when I read a book. Each of the character were so much fun to watch evolve. The fourth book is with good hearted Luke who starts to find out who he is and where he fits in and just the right person who understand him through the process. Take a chance if you haven't and read this series.
Well we found out Patrice's problem, and then off she popped, I don't think she'll be missed, at long last Luke found Cassie she was just meant for him, and as for Tilly Lol she was so funny.
Luke and Cassie, it was such an emotional ride both had to learn to trust due to there past. I was glad to finally see the family secret come to light. My heart went out to all, the story had some shock and omg factors but I loved every minute
I have read many of Ruth's books before and they never disappoint. The formula is pretty similar although the heroes seem to be getting richer! This was an easy read and a bit of escapism on some cold winter evenings.
Wow swoon worthy Luke. Love his loyalty and his heart. Cassie is a strong sexy woman. They make for one amazing strong fun couple. They both have some issues. They help each other work through them. It only makes them stronger as aa couple.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are engaging and amazing the connection is undeniable throughout the pages. The storyline flowed easily throughout the pages. A must read!
This series has been riviting. I didn't rate each of the 4 books because I couldn't wait to get to the next one! Highly recommend you purchase this series!
