It was a forbidden romance that started innocently from a proposal of Sinclair to Giselle to have a one-week affair in Mexico. Then things get complicated when they met again in New York and worse when they realized how entangled their lives are to one another. The angst... the sexual tension... the all-consuming love affair of two people trying to control whatever they are feeling for each other, but can you dissuade what the heart dictates?



Giana Darling is a new author to me and what great find she is! The way she wrote this series you wouldn’t think this is her debut novel/series. It was written exceptionally well with a clever plot, characters that are well-defined and the pacing of the story is just right. I enjoyed it and undoubtedly belong to my best read list this year. I’ll be on the look-out for the future works of this author, because I know I’m in for a great read. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes this kind of story.

Many people told me that an open mind is needed to read this book, but what is needed is therapy. Really? Do you think this is romantic? Infidelity is a subject more than taboo for me. I hate the main characters. They seemed shallow and selfish to me. Giselle "supposedly" was a good and innocent girl, but in the books we see that she is simply a hypocrite🖕. Especially after reading When Heroes Fall and I got to know Elena Lombardi's perspective. She is a strong, independent woman who, despite her traumatic past and betrayals, remains hopeful. She and Dante exceeded my expectations, they were everything (and more) I was looking for.

This series is super sexy! Now... if you hate stories about cheating, you probably won't enjoy this. If you love angst and forbidden romances, you'll probably love this!

Giselle and Sinclair fight a forbidden attraction. An attraction that can damage other bonds and promises made in the past.

Powerless and hungry, they fall into sin together.

I couldn't get enough of this story. The scenes were absolutely delicious. I can't wait to read more books by Giana Darling.

These two are pure scum. Especially the heroine. I hope her sister never forgives her, it made me angry and it’s not even real.
It’s mind-blowing how Elena is considered the villain. Do you’ll have any brain cells ?
Elena’s other sibling are also disgusting for just accepting this and telling her it’s ok she needs to get over it. The fuck ?

Anyway I just skimmed it so I can read elena’s story. It’s nauseating.

Plot Summary :
Giselle has always felt like the ugly duckling of her family. Her family is full of models and future actors and she always felt like the odd one out. Her sisters are what she aspires to be. A surprise trip is something that changes her whole life.

Sinclair is the Most private man she has ever met. She met in the aeroplane and later met in again on her trip. She knows that he is taken and is serious with the woman he loves but their mutual attraction won't let them stop touching the other one without a care about the consequences. They decide to pursue an affair which will last the duration of her trip and then they'll part ways. Their families and pasts are supposed to stay a secret and the only thing they are allowed to do is to enjoy each other in every way they can.

They spent the best time together and left broken. At least Elle does. She never expected that she would see her Frenchman again. The man she had fallen in love with. But life has a certain way of messing everything up. The moment she enters her house and finds him there , she knows nothing will ever be the same. Because the man she has fallen for is the same man who is dating her elder sister. Sinclair is the man who knows her family even more than her and they all love him. What will be their reaction when they find out of their deceitful behavior? And can she really watch the one man she loves with someone else, that someone else being her own sister who better than her in every way?

Overall Opinion :
I have been waiting to read this trilogy for so long! I just kept delaying it and the opportunity presented itself on a golden platter to me when the author decided to repurchase it as a box set with bonus content. I absolutely loved it so much! I am a freaking fool for waiting this long to read it.

The storyline was amazing and I could practically feel the emotions of the characters! The angst, the cheating and the end. Everything was perfect and the one thing that drove me crazy was the side characters! I have always read Cosima's duet so I wasn't that curious about her, although meeting her and Xan again was a pleasant feeling. The characters that intrigued me were Dante and Sebastian! I want their books so bad. Elena was someone I didn't like initially but that is how she is written. You can't help but feel for her, for her broken self. You can feel how much she is hurting and that's the tough part. I hope she gets her happy ending too because no one deserves it more than her!

I would highly recommend this whole trilogy to all those cheating contemporary romance lovers out there! It's a crazy ride and I promise you won't regret taking it!

Really?
Not at all.
Heroine had an affair with a man she knows he’s taken, which means he could be married with ten children so she’s amoral and slutty, even if she’s a virgin.
Turns out he’s her sister’s fiance of four years.
Turns out they obviously meet again and keep having sex behind the poor sisters back.
Turns out he dumps the sister because the heroine is all into BDSM like he is.
I found disgusting the hero more than the heroine because he has sex with the heroine and the sister at the same time.
I found repulsive the heroine because she has no loyalty for her sister, no self respect since he didn’t break up with her sister and refused to stop the affair.
Both deserved karma.
The author tries to make the sister petty and evil but turns out the heroine ad sex with her precious fiance, no matters if he was arranged fiance and not in love, what matters is that while he was engaged to the sister he had sex with heroine.
The sister is basically alone since the heroine has two twins and they both side with her and even their mother eventually forgives her for stealing her sister’s fiance.
I think the hero was the worst though. He refused to marry her sister and have children with her but got the heroine preggo after two days and proposed one second later.
Wow.
How wrong it was.
How wrong to represent the heroine’s sister as a bitter, petty, mean girl while she was just a woman scorned that lost the one man she thought she was having a family with.
The hero was a coward, selfish, narcissistic. He should have broken up with his fiancee as soon as he started the affair with the heroine, and when he says he was going to break up with his fiancee anyway but was just biding his time because he wanted to do things properly was even worse. He kept having sex with heroine, talking about adopting children while screwing the heroine. Yuck. Double yuck.

Warning: this book is not for the faint of heart. If you're an open minded-reader and you're ready to test and push your boundaries, then this book might be just for you.



Before of my individual review of each book, I'll give a little background of what I have loved about this trilogy and the concept of it. Over the years, I've watched trailers (because I rarely watched movies) and read about the mistress, the other person, the home wrecker, the adulterer and honestly, nothing have been more perfect than this box set. It is because mostly, the previous that I have happened to know only take up the surface, or going easy on the characters, or the reasons behind are a little on the safe side, like they are giving the cheater a reason to cheat.

But this one, it was one hell of a ride!

The Affair

“No mortal man should hold a siren in his arms, but you've given me the oppurtunity of a life time.”

One of the reasons that I devoured this book page by page was that it felt it was a story of an ugly ducking turning into swan. Elle is such a sweet person. Naive, too trusting for her own good, and sweet.

Sinclair on the other hand, is my typical oppa. Brooding, intense, cold, calculating and every woman's dream. He was an enigma that you automatically gravitates to him and his character leaves a stamp on you.

The irony of this story was that it started honestly, with both parties setting rules and boundaries, no expectations and both upfront with their status. I felt, or it seemed that I would be repelled but the idea of a holiday affair is too appealing. And honestly, I was intrigued by Sinclair and the relationship he had with his 'Darling'.

But whatever the circumstances, I fell in love with both the characters and the story. I was a little frustrated that I only get to read Elle's POV as I so wanted to know what Sin's intentions are, but I'm glad that he remained a mystery. I get to experience falling in love with all its apprehensions and other consequences that comes with it.

The hints of BDSM and Sin's personality was a surprise I love and enjoyed. And that ending that left you wanting for more and satisfaction of how it was done. More importantly, I was glad I was reading the boxset because I might go crazy waiting for the next book if I hadn't.

The Secret

“Because even if I need you to stop, you'll still own me. When we're like this, you own every beat of my heart.”

The story continues on after Elle had finally made her decision. I think the apprehension and excitement was it for me. It made my blood sing with nerves that I was both dreading and anticipating the events and how it will unfold or blow in their faces.

One facet of this story that I love most was that the conflicting feelings I had. Of wanting the affair to continue or not, or of hating Sin or loving him, and of wanting Elle to just leave and run or fight for what she feels. It also delve deeper on the dynamics of the relationships of the characters and the people around them - their family, friends, business associates and including the society and its opinion.

I think it was written beautifully in a way that the struggle is there. And for me, as a reader, to realize that you can't really condemn the party who cheated and who he/she cheated with as well as their happiness. It was presented how they struggle, the guilt that eats them, the fight they had to keep up with because as much as they wanted to be the better person, the inexplicable pull between them is something that couldn't be denied.

I also love how the characters have grown and that you see (read) them in a way that the experiences they have had mold them and made them and had affected their actions, decisions and how they see themselves.

I fell hard for Daniel Sinclair and I was just as enamored with Giselle Moore.

The Consequence

“And since the moment I met Giselle Moore, my heart had stopped being mine to reason with.”

If I thought I couldn't love this boxset more, I was proven wrong. Finally, finally!!!! Sin's POV! And oh. My. God. Of course, I devoured it! I couldn't hate him, no matter how hard I tried. He's just my kind of man, no matter the kind of circumstances or the abhorrent thing he had done, I couldn't help it but fall deeper in love with him.

There was no deeper excuses nor reasons, there was nothing despicable with his relationship with Elena, its just that what they had was based on expectations and settling for something comfortable that when Giselle came into the picture, whose full of passion and colors, it wasn't really hard for anyone to just give everything for her to make her happy and love you.

I think what I love about this story more, is that the characters didn't made excuses for their behavior. They were shaped by the circumstances of their lives and how they have grown, and they have accepted it. It was just the events seem so real and so close to reality I feel like they are real persons and I'm a part of their lives and I have that feeling that I need to choose which side to pick and what I would feel if I choose the other person over the other.

This was no easy story. There are so many factors that just made me love and hate it. I love how the conflict is so great it seems it is hard to overcome. I hate that I love this story and I just feel bad that I want Sin and Elle's happiness. I hate Elena's attitude but I also love her character, in the end. It was an irony. And everything feels like you have to fight for it to be worth it.

But what I love the most, aside from Sin's POV of course, was his actions and his genuine kindness. He wasn't vindictive, and although he was selfish, he also tried to be selfless. Oh Sin!

This book has just all the feels! The pacing of the story is slow but it makes you connect to the characters more. I love the supporting characters and I hope to read their life, too especially Cosima. Each one has a different personality that is unique but that I sometimes have a hard time keeping track of them especially the friends.

This is my first book, or first three books *snickers*, of Giana Darling and it was such a heady experience. I was so invested in the book that I feel like they are real persons and their life affects my emotions.

If you're searching for something that will wrench your heart, shattering it into minuscule pieces; that will send your mind into a conundrum of conflicting thoughts; that will throw your emotions into turmoil, I cannot recommend this series more than enough. Neither lighthearted nor uncomplicated, The Evolution of Sin series demonstrates the difficulties of falling in love with someone forbidden and simultaneously explores the complex yet trusting nature of BDSM.

Forbidden, angsty and highly erotic masterpiece! This trilogy is a feast for my drama-hungry heart. It's truly mind-boggling that this complicated, albeit remarkable story is Giana Darling's debut. Sinclair and Elle’s love story is a whirlwind of passion and deep emotions, conveyed in such a poetic and beautiful way that it’s impossible to tear yourself away from it!


This trilogy has a perfectly suited title that we can interpret on so many levels. It’s the evolution of a man who, with the right woman, allows himself to live in harmony with his urges and feelings, which strength he didn’t expect. It’s a transformation of a woman, who finds and develops her sexuality by the side of the person she trusts. It’s a development of love that shouldn’t be born, but firmly fights its way. Giselle and Sinclair are the proof that love comes sometimes unexpectedly and uninvited. Their relationship is a battle that held them captive and left victims behind. But despite unfavorable circumstances, their love is tragically beautiful, genuine and all-consuming. And Sin and Elle showed that such a powerful feeling is worth risking everything.


Giana has an incredible talent for creating stories and protagonists that are hard to forget. The complexity of the plot and development of the characters in this series is simply phenomenal. The BDSM theme is handled brilliantly and each scene is described in a tasteful and stimulating way. If you are not afraid of taboo topics and intense sensations, Evolution of Sin should be on your must-read list!

I want to preface this by saying I have read cheating books and loved them. With that being said, this couple was two of the most self centered people I’ve ever read about. Giselle was spineless and honestly never cared one bit about it being her sisters boyfriend. She also let Sinclair walk all over and manipulate her. No wonder her family called her Bambina even though she wasn’t the baby. She was a brat(not in a good way), naive and so immature. Sinclair was just an a hole. The fact that he didn’t break up with the sister until she embarrassed him instead of say….WHEN HE WAS SLEEPING WITH HER SISTER that he supposedly loved 🙄 overall there was no redeeming qualities in these characters. And the siblings and everyone around that knew and encouraged the affair was just as bad. Add in the fact that NOBODY cared about Elena’s feelings (whether her and Sinclairs relationship was passionate or not) was downright selfish and outrageous. I could honestly rant about this book for awhile with so many bad decisions made and I would have DNFd it if I didn’t want the entire story for when I read Elena’s book. She deserves so much more than how her entire family acted in this book.

The writing was poor (compared to her later works of course!) and the chemistry was non-existent. This epic love affair was not epic just embarrassing and cruel with two of the blandest knock off unoriginal characters ever.

OMG this was so good. I felt a little bad and naughty for cheering on the main characters while as we can tell by the blurb they are together while cheating. But dang that plot twist had me with my mouth open. Amazing. Great storyline, sex scenes were hott!! Some scenes were hard to read: TW: mentions grooming, sexual assault, and it has scenes that are a bit hard to read. Also the main characters dabble in BDSM. Also dang Dante is Hot AF and I can't wait to read more of him. 👀

I am again left with no words. I don’t know how to express myself after reading this trilogy.

Since I started The Affair I was glued to the pages because I couldn’t get enough. The only reason why I stopped at some point is because I needed to charge my phone and that’s the device I read on.

The story is just too amazing to describe it with normal words. I mean, the first few pages of the first book The Affair held so many promises written in between. And as I kept on reading, I wasn’t disappointed at all. The whole series surpassed my expectations. It opened my eyes to a whole new world where there is so much going on. You name it: passion, love, mistakes, regrets, sorrows, forgiveness, and a whole lot more. I think it also taught me to be a better person.

Elle and Sinclair are two remarkable characters who have an even more remarkable story. Their connection is undeniable and it shows sparks and fireworks and everything that can represent the power in that connection.

I felt everything. I went from a simple laugh to a large amount of tears streaming down my face. I fell in love so fast with this story because it’s unique and brilliant. It seriously consumed me. I felt the devastation, I fell in love, I felt lost, I felt alive. And it touched me in the most beautiful way.

DNF - both the h and H set off to intentionally cheat on his gf. It’s not a heat of the moment mistake. They discuss it extensively, and go through with it even after the gf calls him while they are getting naked and HE ANSWERS THE CALL. Ewwwwww... I don’t mind cheating and the h being the OW, but this is waaaaaaay too intentional for me. I’m supposed to believe he’s never done this before??? 🧐👀😑🙄🙄🙄#colormeskeptical Both are reprehensible characters. Yuck.

This trilogy blew my mind.
Sin was literally that, SINFUL. Even though this one made me want to punch old ladies (SORRY), I loved every minute of the turmoil. Giana did a fanfreakingtastic job of making something so wrong feel absolutely right.
Will be reading every book from this author from now on.

This is not a type of book I typically read but after reading this authors other books I knew I needed to read. There was a lot of sexiness but I was in this for the story, this being the setting of the scene. The mystery was killing me....I had to know!

OMG....not even the first chapter in and I think I know what will happen! To say I was excited is an understatement!

And I was right! Oh how awkward! But it seems the lovely Elle and Sinclair can't stay away from each other......'You are here, Giselle , simply and complicatedly, because I miss you.'

My heart broke for Elle, I felt like an interloper on all those people's lives. I wanted to scream at in parts of this book and I wanted to throttle then cuddle in others!

Firstly I loved that we got Sins POV. How he was so in love and it was like it was for the first time. Beautiful.

But the anticipation was killing me! I won't say why but those who have read will know!

Sin is just everything 'Mon amour pour toi est aussi plus grand que le monde.'

And, by the way, I got my wish. And now I need Cosima's story more than I need air! Please tell me that is being written?!

WOW! Where do I even begin. It's obvious that the journey of Sinclair and Giselle is about an affair. While some might shy away from the topic, I can say with all my heart that their journey is one of the best I've ever read. Regardless of how they meet, regardless of their current situation, some people come together in life for a reason.

The chemistry between these two is extremely hot, all consuming and erotic. However, it's not just about their sexual connection. Sinclair and Giselle seem to connect on deeper level than they ever could have imagined. I loved their journey, it was easy to fall into their world and never want to leave. The only problem is they both have a life outside their vacation bubble and their actions have consequences.

This trilogy is fabulous, I highly recommend it! This is a delicious romance that will have you begging for more ❤️❤️

One thing you need to know about me as a read is I love pushing my boundaries. I love reading stories that you might consider controversial. I like to explore genres with complicated storylines. I have been a huge fan of Giana Darling since forever. Her Lessons in Corruption is still one of my favourite MCs of all time. I am a fan of her writing and her voice in her pages. She is such a storyteller and I freaking adore her. Anyways I read The Evolution of Sin a few weeks back and I was absolutely captivated. Oh my word, this trilogy is everything a taboo reader like me craves. Beautiful. Angsty. Heart Pulling. Emotional. Heartrending. The Evolution of Sin is an amazing and gorgeous read full of love, sexual tension, heart wrenching moments and one sexy French man giving all his love to his woman. Full of drama, The Evolution of Sin deals with a controversial topic but Giana Darling nailed and gave a story filled with so much love and the power of soul mates. I love Sinclair and Elle. Man, their chemistry fire with elements of BDSM that take the story to the next level.

Giana Darling is a new author to me, but after flying through this trilogy, I am looking forward to reading ALL her books!
I love the start/premise of the story - A girl in Mexico meets a handsome man and they have a week-long love affair. There's so much more to the story - who is this handsome Sinclair, can they last a week just living in each other's present world? What happens after their week is up, when they know they have real feelings for each other but have to return to the real world? What happens when Giselle sees Sinclair again? You have to read this book and stop reading reviews. It is GREAT!
Giana - wow! Writing is excellent, characters are interesting. The story she weaves is amazing. Giana is a one-click author for me after reading this!

Everything that Giana Darling writes is beautifully provocative and consuming, but I’ll admit, I had been hesitant to dive into the Evolution of Sin Trilogy- into a love story that I knew would be beguiling and beautiful but one that starts from an action that many consider ugly - a love story that starts from cheating. But, with this amazing new boxset cover and Giana blessing fans with additional content to give even more complexity and story nuance to an already well loved series, I knew it was time to dive in. Because Giana Darling is an author that has proven to poetically and boldly confront and examine the less “acceptable” forms of love- love that is more epic, more challenging, more complicated than the average love story. And in doing so, her love stories always feel more real, more visceral, because they are more hard fought.

And Sinclair and Giselle definitely have a hard fought love story- two imperfect souls who find each other in one another’s orbit but whose different backgrounds and world views aren’t the ONLY barrier. I can tell you now- if cheating is a trigger for you, this series most certainly won’t be for you, but if you’re like me, open minded but self-aware enough to know that this is a trope that often isn’t your favorite, one that you have a hard time stomaching unless it is done with “care” and done “well”, then take a chance. And, there are added dynamics here as well as BDSM plays a part of their relationship as well.

Their story starts with an affair, spawned by an undeniable attraction and chemistry, a connection that was only supposed to be temporary. But, fate brings them back together, and a complicated, messy angsty love story unfolds. One that tugged at my heart, challenged my mind, broke me and healed me- and swallowed me whole. There’s a lot of unexpected twists, with mystery and emotional complexity beautifully weaving together in a sensual but complicated narrative that works up towards the inevitably explosive and heart wrenching finale.

The characters are transfixing- mesmerizing. Giana has always been such a soulful character writer, and it amazes me that this was her first series. Sinclair is delicious- a complicated and arrogant man that thrives on control. He’s sexy and domineering in his protectiveness, in the way he takes control. And Elle is the kind of heroine I find so fascinating- a softer, sweet and nuanced woman, plagued by her own insecurities and baggage. Together they are magnetic- deliciously forbidden, complicated and explosive. And so very passionate. I could not stop rooting for them, even when I did not agree with their actions, but I felt their connection so deeply, I was as consumed by it as they were.

Like with all Giana stories- her lyrical and poetic style of prose amaze me. She has the profound ability to tell stories that are emotively visceral, that are raw and gritty, in writing that is technically so artfully composed. You can’t help but marvel at the natural ease and classic beauty of her writing style- creating a reading experience that is both immersive and moving. Simply put, this woman is an artist with words.

Despite the catalyst of this love story, I found myself loving it- justifying it, understanding it, even excusing it. And that is part of the magic of Giana Darling- not only does she demonstrate what true, soulful love can be by giving her characters the most challenging of obstacles to being together, but she also challenges our conceptions of what love is “right” and what love is “wrong.” I never leave a story of hers not feeling like I more deeply understand the emotion- both platonic and romantic, I never close a Giana Darling without feeling like I see love with new and fresh eyes. And that is what the Evolution of Sin did here- made me see a “sin” as something right because it lead to something. “Right” or “wrong” this is a love story for the ages, and I’m glad I took a chance on a trope that isn’t always my thing.

Sin and the siren, such a great story

Daniel Sinclair and Giselle Moore met and had an affair never knowing what the future would bring, their love story is not an easy one, but one that leaves your heart begging for them to be together. Through self discovery, family loyalties, and friendships pushed to the edge they managed to face it all and survive. A great love story.

This is my first time reading this series and I was so excited to dive right in! Every page I read I craved for more. I simply couldn't get enough and I couldn't stop reading. Giana darling has such a way with words. Every single time I read a book by her I’m amazed by her magnificent writing. This woman has fucking talent. She crafts poetry that soothe my beating heart after every turn of the page. This series had me in all of my feelings and I’m not mad at it one bit. I love when books make me feel everything. That’s when I know I’m reading a great book. And this series is exactly that. I'm ready to dive back into The Enslaved Duet before we get When Heroes Fall and When Villains Rise!
