These short stories are way off the beaten path, combining bizarre subject matter, extreme horror and dark humor. I found myself laughing at some parts while muttering wtf in others. If you enjoy material that is off the hook and knows no bounds, give this collection a try. I look forward to reading more by this author.

This collection of short stories, is a perfect introduction to Sean Hawker’s creative imagination.
The stories are well written , unexpected, brutal, spiced with very dark humor.

I loved all these short stories, but I really enjoyed Flags and Stiffy. Mr Kindsay’s cruelty and Ron’s desperation made me laugh.

Just remember, I have a weird sense of humor.😆

Finally, he moved the pillow aside, to see Doreen’s painted face—her eyes closed, her jaw slack. Ron kissed her tenderly on the lips. He was stiff now, more rigid than he could ever recall being. With a slight flex of his hip, Ron was now inside his wife. It felt safe and secure in this place. He wanted to remain there forever.

I Literally Bought This About An Hour Ago After Seeing A Post From A Friend With This Description....
"This is a collection of grimy, sleazy, grotesque, outrageously funny stories and vignettes featuring extreme hoarders, cannibals, necrophiliacs, adult babies, amputees, maniacs, and talking fish."

It Was All This And More!! Lots Of Guilty Giggles, Blood, Gore, Brutalness And Grime! 🖤
The Ending To 'Opal And The Adult Babies' 😮
Good Old Mr Kindsay In Flags Is Everyone's Perfect Neighbour, Right? 😉
And It Seems Garlic Butter Sauce Goes With ANY Meal!! 😋

I'm Honestly Not A Huge Fan Of Short Stories But This Was Awesome! This Is Sean Hawker First Book And I'd Put It Up There With Some Of The Top Authors In This Genre!

I was a fan of Hawker before I became one of his friends. This kid seemed to blast on to the scene from nowhere. And is definitely here to stay!

I didn’t realise that DYFC wasn’t his debut, in fact it’s this one that I only recently brushed off to recently have a gander. I thought this collection was great. It was like chewing and savouring tiny morsels of Hawkman’s weird and depraved brain. Man, he thinks up some fucked up shit! The writing is excellent, the stories original, and it was like a delicious platter of appertisers to savour in between longer meals.

My favourite by far was Olga and her adult babies. The ending is a WTF kicker! Loved it.

Sean Hawker is one of my favorite authors to read when I want a bizarre fucked up story and this collection was exactly that. I liked all of these stories... I would say the first one was just meh for me but all in all a brutal violent and bizarre collection of stories that have some fucked up endings 4.5 stars for me.

Definitely not for the faint of heart but SO GOOD. I’m not sure whether I fear or respect those of you who can tackle these puppies back to back. Extra points for the awesome introduction by the author too. I’m tempted to give the collection five stars for making me exclaim SOMETHING - whether it be a yell, laugh, or cry - with the climax of every story… oh fuck it *changes rating to 5 stars*.

I didn't care for the first story at all. Out of the eight shorts, that was the worst. But I'm glad I stuck with. A gross story about a hoarder made me LOL. A story about a grampa with a voice box throat hole was peculiar. He was supposed to be talking through the mouth of a fish, and I have no clue what he said . I made out Dayn-jurr as danger. But what the heck is Vuhhh -lyyyyy-tt-zuh? Still, gramps feeding a worm through his throat hole was cool. A prostitute catering to adult babies and diapers was original. The amputee story made me think of my own stories Acrotomophilia Maniac 1&2. The cannibal story was my fave. The story Flags was hilarious.
I would classify these stories as bizarre. They are definitely unique and fun and comical

I want to start this by saying I have now officially read everything Hawker has released and I can’t pick a favorite! Everything he gives us is pure fucking gold. Consider him the Taylor Swift of writing. (I kid, he’s absolutely Britney Spears). Insane Ideas… is a short collection of well, shorts. Flags was definitely my favorite, even though it is the most fucked up. The character development in 10 pages or so was remarkable.

I would suggest buying it immediately. You won’t be disappointed.

I ordered this book direct from the author and all I can say is...wow. The stories are short but superbly written, and each one hits like a tonne of bricks. This book blends gore, humour, and all-out disgustingness very impressively. I’m looking forward to seeing what Sean comes up with next!

mix some dark humor, filth, and the bizarre and you get these 8 stories by Sean Hawker.

proceed with caution if you’re easily offended, squeamish or can’t handle body fluids of any kind.

Sic...but could be worse.

Very entertaining. I really enjoyed it. Some of it seemed to be gross for gross sake... but if you like this kinda twisted shit guess you can't complain.

Enjoyed the majority of these quick stories and in fact wished a couple of them had been longer. Only 1 story did nothing for me so for a quick read and to showcase Sean Hawkers talents, recommended...
