She loves the celebrity lifestyle and the fame that comes with being the wife of a movie star. He loves women and chooses indiscriminately.
A vacation to twin Bliss Resort is all Muyiwa needs to strip herself of the lie she calls marriage - her celebrity husband is not worth the years she has already given.
Lucas is not a one woman man. Getting married to Muyiwa is a mistake he plans to correct soon.
It takes the flirtatious eyes of other men and jealousy that almost tears Lucas to pieces for him to realize he still loves her, and will reclaim her heart at all cost.
This is one of the—scratch that, Muyiwa and Lucas are the most dramatic couple I’ve read or watched this year. If you're looking for a story which definition is drama, this is the book for you! LMAO! It's like the authors who are writing Twin Bliss stories are packing their stories with all the heat when it comes to messy characters *hmm, orishirishi*
In Paradise we have a married couple, Muyiwa and Lucas, who are together for all the wrong reasons aka the perfect recipe for a disaster. First off, if you can't stand the cheating trope, this book is not for you as the male lead is a walking poster for people with undiagnosed sex addiction and a sorry-ass male with an over-inflated ego, who treats women as objects. LMAO, it's clear I don't like him already, even his name Lucas fits him very well. If you ever watched Back Chat London back in the day, then you might remember misogynistic extraordinaire who was named Lucas, so like I already attach bad vibes to the name.
Our female lead, Muyiwa, is really one hell of a character. She's rambunctious and unapologetically loud. She's that devil be damned fat woman that has developed an extra layer of thick skin made of steel and is extremely confident. It made me mad and uncomfortable when she had to brush aside off-hand comments that were thrust her way and gosh the disrespect from Lucas. I just wish he suffered more than what was dished. Anyway, it's not like Muyiwa did not know what she was getting into when she married him.
Paradise is a story that is heavy on stereotypes, especially the ones we all hear or have read about the lives of the rich and famous, this of course, made the story sensational and had me raising my eyebrows or shaking my head in some places. While the story itself was interesting to read, I couldn't gel with the main characters because the focus was on them competing to see who is more problematic towards the other and when it comes to character depth, it was all surface level.
I loved that this book gave me mystery, thriller and a whirlwind of a romance. It's a well-written book, and the absurdness of the drama that occurs within the book makes it such a page-turner. Once again, if the cheating trope and very stereotyped stories aren't your cupcake, stay away from this book, but if you enjoyed Haven by Timi Waters, then you're going to enjoy this even more.
This is not your normal Romance story and I love it so much.
The main characters are a celebrity couple who are married for all the wrong reasons, five years down the line they found out they can not tolerate each other. The disagreement, frustration and fights in this kind of marriage is perfectly written by the author and I must say she brought the celebrity life style to readers.
I wasn't expecting that the couple would reconsider divorce and get back together, but hai... That's what HEA is about and for the fact that the couple came to a point of realization, rediscovering love and commitment did it for me.
There is a lot of drama that will make you laugh like I did. However, if infidelity in a romance book is a trigger for you, then you may want to reconsider reading. But for people that loves second chance stories, reignition of love and reconciliation, this book is for you.
And this is a very well written book, the style of writing reminds me of Jackie Collins (don't want to compare) but when you read it, you will find out why.
Kudos to the author, I hope to read more of her work.
Wouldn't be rating it coz I didn't finish it but if I did. I would have rated it 1. Man was cheating, not being so subtle about it and he was getting jealous and possessive when his wife tried to do the same, oh please.
When I accepted to read this book as an advance reader, I thought it was one of those romance novels where a boy fall in love with a girl and they live happily ever after. But no!
This story is lit!
One it's is centered on a married, celebrity couples who got married for all the wrong reasons and had to find themselves in the marriage. The fights and disagreements were palpable and relatable. There frustrations, flaws, mistakes were captured so we'll by the author.
I must confess, I have never read anything like it. And she added the right dose of drama, suspense, thriller in to it.
This is a book that kept me turning pages until it's finished.
There are multiple sex scenes though but that's all right by me.
Kudos to the author, I look forward to reading more from her.
Having read the other Twin Bliss Resort books, I was very curious about the character “Muyiwa” and this book was her and her superstar husband “Lucas”.
Muyiwa is a loud lady that loves the fame and money that came with being in the spotlight. Unfortunately for her she was married to the community dick (which she didn’t mind for years) but one trip to Twin Bliss changes a whole lot.
If you’re looking for something not too heavy but all not too light to read, I’ll suggest this.
Well not one of the romance cliches. No damsel in distress(thank God for that).
Hot romance, action, suspense and comedy😄.
I love that the heroine is sassy and have alot of attitude I love how the book started, really wasn't expecting that👀👀, couldn't wait to meet the prologue girl in the main book.
I love everything about the book, i love you and I look forward to reading more of your steamy books MRS ROSEMARY
Muyiwa!!!!!!! Wow ... this is a must read. The twists and turns are so out of mere mortal imagination yet so true to everyday life. The pictures so clearly painted one could visualize Muyiwa and her husband. And oh I love miss-goody-too-shoes This is definitely not for the faint hearted in sexuality A must have
Well written. Filled with drama, infidelity and Nollywood celebrity lifestyle. If you have emotional triggers from infidelity and dysfunctional relationships, steer clear. If you enjoy scandalous and celebrity lifestyle, this will be a wonderful story for you. The characters will make you feel strong emotions. That’s for damn sure.
I read this from Bambooks— a growing Nigerian subscription library. Try it!
Has anyone read or been reading the Twin Bliss Series? If you have followed it from Haven to Euphoria, Delight, now Paradise, you’ll agree with me that one things stands out: The characters are perfectly humans.
Like, oh my God, I’m talking real people making real people mistakes and doing real people shit. For someone who has rolled her eyes and plucked off her hair from reading characters who are usually so perfect they don’t make mistakes, I’m finding the Twin Bliss Series refreshing.
It feels good to read and connect with real humans in fiction, not all those superhumans I mostly read about. (Ojoro hero and heroine.)
Anyhoooo, before I over run mouth, here’s the gist of this book. Muyiwa, an unapologetic gold digger met Lucas Opeyemi, one of Nollywood’s hottest sensation, at an event and instantly knew he was the answer to her hustling prayers.
The two, having tied the knot following an instant attraction, didn’t kid themselves with claiming to be modern day Romeo and Juliet. It was obvious from the get-go that their marriage was a ‘scratch my back I do the same’ kinda thing.
Still, one of them, Muyiwa, started to catch feelings for her husband, and, as you know the madness that comes with falling in love, she became uncomfortable with his womanizing ways.
When she discovered Lucas planned on going to the Twin Bliss Resort without her, she bossed up and arranged the trip to include herself. Then everything went south.
What I loved most about this was the honesty in character representation.
What I didn’t like was Muyiwa constantly saying she was going to f**k A, B, C… Aunty, if you want to collect holy milk from another d*ck, collect it. Don’t be doing us longer-throat.
Muyiwa is ambitious, cranky, unhappy, and lonely. She lived two lives; a lonely cantankerous woman and in front of the camera, a happily married woman. She succeeded in driving a wedge between herself and everyone except the housekeeper who had fired and rehired herself several times. Muyiwa, in anger, decided to pay Lucas in his own coin.
Lucas is a womanizer through and through. He gave it up briefly. He gets an invitation to Gobota. Unfortunately, Muyiwa had seen it and would not be upstaged by another woman. He can’t stand other men admiring his ‘flabby’ wife. Lucas can dish the heat but can’t take it?
Paradise is not a cliché romance. It’s well written. I love Muyiwa because she was the strongest character in the story. I love the parallel romance of their relationship in public and in private. The theme of a dysfunctional celebrity couple carried through the story, even the convenience of the reason for marrying each other. The comic parts were airy and the sex… there’s a lot of sex.
I would have loved to see more of Lucas’ first ‘wife’ woven through the story just for the intrigue.
Two coconut heads that refused to hear word. I so wanted to beat somebody but didn't know who to start with. 😤
Muyiwa lives for the media, showing a perfect life when it's far from it. Where's the lie?🤷♀️
Lucas............... I don't even know where to start with this one. Feeling he is the best thing to happen to humans after burnt beans.🙄
I loved the way Muyiwa dealt with him at the resort. He deserved every inch of it.😝
And the way the ladies came through for Muyiwa, amidst their differences was just too much.🤗
The way Rosemary Okafor played with words, I haven't seen any like this. 🤯
Throughout the book, I felt like I was reading a Jackie Collins book with a sprinkle of Nigerian-ness in it -she's that good.🥰
She captured the celebrity lifestyle so well, I don't even know where to start with that.😚
And all the smut she was dishing out..........🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Y'all need to get a copy of Paradise seriously. It's available in almost all bookstores, and on Amazon. You can also get a copy from her.

I’m two books strong when it comes to reading this author’s work and in actuality, this is my second encounter with morally grey characters. Muyiwa and Lucas are not exactly likeable characters but it takes nothing away from their story. We see a marriage on the brink of a divorce . Muyiwa is off fighting her husband’s mistresses while Nollywood’s finest, Lucas is making a name for himself in the industry and in women’s loins. Soon Muyiwa and Lucas travel to Twin Bliss Resorts in Gobota Island where she decides to plan her exit from her husband’s home and life but we all know that to plan is one thing and for reality to hit is another thing 😉 One peculiarity about this couple is their sexual attraction especially when they were at the Twin Bliss Resorts, at the start of their marriage, they had it but it fizzled out in the space of five years. I’ll add that the sex scenes were nastyyy. In all, it’s a good book and falls perfectly into the second chance romance trope so knock yourself out 🤗
“Paradise” by Rosemary Okafor and no, it’s not the paradise you think.
This book had me side-eyeing half the relationships I see online. 😮💨
Muyiwa is that woman you admire from afar, always put together, living the soft life, married to a famous man. But deep down? She’s drowning. And the saddest part? She’s so used to it, she doesn’t even realize how much she’s losing herself.
Lucas… sigh. That man deserves a dedicated chapter in the “what not to be as a partner” handbook. He’s emotionally unavailable, manipulative, and acts like showing up in public is enough to be a husband. The kind of man who’ll kiss you on camera and then disappear right after 😩😫
This book had me reflecting a lot. About how so many women settle for love that looks good on the outside but starves them on the inside. About how appearances really do lie. And about how choosing yourself isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary.
Rosemary Okafor wrote this like she was talking directly to us, the readers who’ve either lived it or know someone who has. It’s messy, real, frustrating, and beautiful in the most unexpected way.
Rating: 4.5/5 Recommended for anyone who’s ever felt unseen in a relationship or pressured to keep up appearances. Ps: I also need that Marula drink 😜😉
This book is so different from the romance I have been reading.
If you are stuck on "boy meets girl, falls in love, saves the girl from danger and they live happily ever after" Romance, then this book is not for you.
This book is a hard bone for matured minds. A Celebrity marriage romance that bares every flaws in marriage. I felt the frustration, the selfishness between these two and at a point, I really prayed they divorced. But the author did the magic.
The suspense in the story kept me on edge from beginning to end and the humor is a satisfying dose.
First I want to say I loved the characters, I even loved the story, I do love a good second chance HEA. This issue I had was that even if I hadn't been the one to download this book I could have told you it was a KU book. I used to read so many KU romances and there is a definite repetitiveness in the writing style, Short chapters, a lot of dialogue and a lot of time spent in the brain of the character instead of exploring the setting. Overall not a bad quick romance but I never felt like I could really step into the book.
I will love to see a film adaptation if movie producers can do justice to the book. In all, Paradise by Rosemary Okafor is a stunning master piece of literary entertainment wrapped with an enthralling Nigerian flavor. I enjoyed this story.
I rate this book a good 7/10, just because I expected more of a plot twist at the end. Towards the end it started getting more unrealistic and predictable, it was a good read at the beginning no doubt. In all amazing vocabulary delivery, interesting depiction of emotions and beautiful writing.
The first paragraph alone had me hooked. A steamy, drama-filled romance about Muyiwa and Lucas.a glamorous celebrity couple whose marriage hides lies, jealousy, and heartbreak. Muyiwa's fiery personality and Lucas's charm make their toxic love story addictive and chaotic.
Celebrity couple Lucas and muyiwa's marriage is about to crash both parties plan to divorce each other only after they come from twin bliss resort vacation but what happens when feelings start brewing and a secret from Lucas past threatens their union.
Thank you, Rosemary for this beautiful story. Lucas and Muyiwa are funny, hilarious, chaotic and full of drama. From the start, you imagine that their marriage is beyond being salvaged even headed for a divorce, but beneath the cheating, neglect and despair lies LOVE. In the end I guess, with love everything is possible! Waiting for the next book 😘
