This is the first screenplay I’ve ever read and I’m glad this was the one I chose. Tender, heartbreaking and so so beautiful. The forward by Frank Ocean is one for the ages.

perfect movie perfect screenplay

This script book reads almost just as beautifully as the film. It had been quite some time since i got to see it and I felt here in quarantine was the perfect time to revisit. The opening poem by Frank Ocean is also gorgeous. My only complaint is that these books split the photo sections over two pages and it looks terrible every time. it should be single page or flipped full page horizontally.

Edit: I just realized that the end of this screenplay is actually different than the film. Also one or two scenes i do not recall either. So now i must actually rewatch.

Absolute masterpiece in every way.

It is truly one of the best feelings in the world when filmmakers respect the viewer. Moonlight does that. So tender and beautiful. One of my fave and the most deserving Oscar wins ever.
