Such an interesting book! For those who have kids (or adults) interested in creepy things its perfect. Learn a bit of history and geography at the same time. The photographs are really neat. I do wished there was more written about each place, but only so much can fit on each page. Overall a very well loved book in my house that has lead to many child led investigations/research. Learning is a huge plus when it comes to books!

Overall it’s really interesting! I liked reading about haunted places in my home state and surrounding areas. But it’s missing Bobby Mackey’s from Kentucky and the Goldfield Hotel from Nevada, which are known to be SUPER haunted so it’s kind of surprising that they’re missing.

I wish there were more background to some of the places. Each state has at least 2 places listed with no background at all.
There are quite a few spelling/grammatical errors as well.

**Very surprised The Alamo is not listed for Texas.

I enjoyed coming across places I have been too. But I have not seen any ghosts in ones I've visited. But I think it was a pretty decent book. It was pretty much the same thing for every place though.

Apparently to many outside Kansas the only haunted place in Kansas is Stull Cemetery. Surprisingly though they actually called it an urband legend and included its history. Of course though telling the truth is pointless since it's included in a book on scary, haunted places.
After that it seems pretty obvious that
writers just used a list of popular haunted places then tossed in a few unknowns. This probably saved the writers from any real research on the locations. These writers who has deemed these as scary must be afraid of ladybugs. There are a few that mention strange mist, orbs, or strange lights as its ghostly happenings and nothing else. Easily debunked and not scary at all.
If you dismiss the ghost stuff then maybe you can try and enjoy it as a travel book on real and fake history from each state. Each of the states get 10 locations and a short paragraph about the place and its hauntings. Having 10 locations is odd though because every state has two places with just a name and its location on the state map. There's no paragraph telling you about them so you'll have to use the internet if you really want to know about them. It seems like the writers could have just listed 8 locations there wasn't enough room for add information.
I think that this book failed as a travel guide especially with incomplete information on places. It also fails on the scary part because not one place in here sounds scary. So this book is a big fail for me.
