4.5 stars. i loved this book. the plot line was nothing like i’ve ever read before. the writing wasn’t as developed as i usually read but i loved it anyway. Lucas was so sweet and i don’t understand why there was so much hate on him. i understand it was his fault but he didn’t know what he caused. plus he gets points on loving tangled. the best movie created.
I loved this book. Most favorite book on wattpad and will always be. it literally is PERECTLY structured and the author couldn't have done anything more perfectly. i cried hard at the end. i loved this book and i always will.
okay i'm going to try and make this a short review but if it so happens to be a long one i'm sorry.
to start off did i finish this book- hell no i read about 15 chapters and then had to call it quits because it was making me sick.
if you know me you know i can't stand OW drama or heros that fuck OW after meeting heroine. with that being said i'm sure you can put the pieces together and understand why i had to stop reading this book.
yes, Lucas has a girlfriend. yes, she makes comments about the heroine calling her 'bigger' and 'fat'. yes, he hooks up with her after reuniting to heroine. yes, he makes out with his girlfriend in front of the heroine and yes she did walk in on them after they finished having sex when he and the heroine were supposed to be doing a project for school together. also he was with OW for literally over half the book i think.
that's enough to make me sick. but then i read a little more into reviews and the bonus chapters just to find out the heroine is a virgin. once again what is one of the things I hate? WHEN THE HEROINE WAITS FOR HER CHILDHOOD CRUSH BUT HE'S TOO BUSY FUCKING OTHERS AND DIDN'T WAIT FOR HER.
yes, even though he 'loved' her he still went a fucked others. she didn't but he did. and he continued to fuck someone else after meeting the heroine again and getting close to her. fucking gross.
that being said, since my heart literally can not take it when the hero fucks others after 'loving' the heroine and the heroine waits for him but still falls for the hero after figuring out he didn't wait for her, i can't in my right mind continue on reading this.
seriously no hate towards this author or anyone that liked this book. i just needed to vent because every time that fucking Ivy girl was seen making out or finishing having sex with the hero i was about to be sick.
so to all my safety friends on here i would highly recommend skipping this book if you have problems with OW drama or hero fucking OW after meeting heroine.
I stumbled across this book in early February, when I wasn’t in the best mental space (at all) and this book has brought me so much comfort by reading it. Izzy has a special place in my heart, as does Lucas, and with every update, I fall more for these characters.
This is a teen romance set in high school, and we are faced with real life topics - READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFOREHAND - but also, it’s very comical. The humour in this book is out of this world, especially from a British person, catching all of the jokes and phrases Izzy caught onto when she was in England; it’s one of the reasons why I love it so much.
Lucas’s character growth is massive; you may not like him at first, but he’s such a sweetie. Children will be children; they will say things without intent to hurting.
In this book, the Author, Mai, has portrayed the topic of ED so amazingly, she’s shone a light onto it, and not romanticised it. She’s shown the reality; relapse, struggles and recovery.
I absolutely love this book and I am not ready for it to end. I don’t want to say goodbye to Izzy and Lucas.
This book has well and truly captured my heart for the good.
i am so in love with this story. the plot line was amazing and i loved the way ot was wrote lucas was such a cutie. i totally understand how and why he got hated so bad but still 🥲 he’s such a cinnamon roll. and after everything worked out and they talked, he started turning into more and more understanding person. his character development was really worth the waiting. the way he supported and got actually interested in her ed was so so sweet. their slow growing relationship over was just so fun to read. i loved the humor in this book. there is a lot mentions of eating disorder. and honestly it’s shown so realistically. it shows the persons struggles and recovery. my heart broke for isabella a lot of times. i was crying through half the book. it’s so sad how words can affect people so please think twice before you say something! lucas and izzy will definitely have a special place in my heart. i adore them so so much.
DNF at chapter 15 when the under aged MINORS started to give a magic Mike performance ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. I have never read something as cringy as this, and trust me, that means something.
PS: The supposed couple had no chemistry whatsoever, humor was weird and childish, side characters bland. And how are we supposed to root for them if he has a girlfriend who he is VERY possessive of? Like he literally has never mentioned that he doesn’t love her, more the opposite.
Oh and bad writing. Realllyyy bad writing.
I’m sorry for bringing so much negative energy into this house but honestly I am so done with Wattpad stories. I really hoped not all stories were cringy and worthy of their reputation but to this day I haven’t met one single story that has been merely good.
Just finished it. I normally don’t write reviews for my wattpad books but I thought this one deserved it. It really was something so special. Izzy suffered through a lot of of the things I feel like I went through (tw: ed) and it was just like a warm hug saying everything is going to be okay. Lucas is just my dream man. The notes, the car wash, the job at the clinic, his love for smut hahaha, and just the understanding and support 😭 he is truly a gentleman and I feel like he is one of the few fictional characters i actually wanted to pull out of the book to date them. Idk, thank you to the author for portraying ed the way you did and also making Lucas work towards becoming a better person? ITS JUST TOO PERFECT. Definitely going to re read in the future.

it’s been a while since i’ve read wattpad but i really liked the trama, characters and background stories. however i will offer my humbling constructive criticism as somoene who also writes, i know how difficult it’s to write romance and sex scenes especially as a young author(the author of this book is 19? i think). the romance scenes were good, i missed at least one or two sexy scenes. the problem i had with the book is she sometimes explains a lot like it goes into a lot of detail about everyday scenes and I found myself skipping those parts to get to the “interesting part”. I understand that it's a slow burn and that there are filler chapters to create suspense but I think that it shouldn't go into so much detail. sometimes less is more.
THIS BOOK. IF YOU HAVENT READ IT YET. RUN TO WATTPAD 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️💨💨💨💨💨.IT IS INCREDIBLE!!!!!
this book contains every single thing that you could possibly want in a book. This book got me out of my readers block. I would say that it is possibly the best wattpad story of all time.
Not to even mention that the writer is insane. She writes like an author who has been writing for about 50 years. The words flow so well and it creates an incrediblly clear image in your mind.
What you caused is an enemies to lovers slow burn. The story follows a girl who is recovering from a long term ed, meaning she is still going through it. She travels back home to where her grandmother lives and her childhood best friends. This also means seeing her old crush/tormentor. Will they avoid each other or will time heal old wounds. I definitely recommend reading what you caused by maiwrites. At this time I am unaware of how old the author is but I can tell from reading this book that she is an amazing author.

This book had me in tears. Alongside the love and story line, the entire plot and idea of the story was heartwarming yet heartbreaking. As someone who struggles with an eating disorder I think this was beautifully portrayed and it wasn't in any way hard to understand. I loved this story, and i'm really grateful to find a story that helps raise awareness on eating disorders.
this book was amazing and made me sob i hate and love the fact that it was a slow burn but it made everything turn out better. i love the characters the friendships the family's the relationships. i also liked how Isabella and lucas had to learn with each other again with boundaries and feelings to heal and choose what was right between them.

Love this book more than myself ngl. May I just say Lucas‘s character development is literally the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Also Isabella story had absolutely no reason to make me cry that much actually it did but you know!
By far one of the best wattpad books i’ve read in a long time. it made me laugh. it made me cry. it made me believe in a happily ever after. and most of all, it made me obsessed with lucas miller. i love this book.
I utterly adored this book! Whether it be the slow burn or friends to lovers or the beautiful chemistry between both the characters! It may seem too long for some but I loved it till the very end. So much that I wished for more even if it's just one more chapter.
I LOVED this book like Lucas and Isabella were the best I love them so much and their friend group was the best and I liked how much Lucas cared about Isabella and just their whole background was written well.❤️
It was just okay could've been a little less long it had 94 chapters which is too long for a sweet contemporary romance. And it's a childhood friends to lovers.... so yeh I was tired after reading the 30%of the book.
Still it was cute and please check trigger warning before reading this book.
4,5/5 ❤️🩹 This book was actually incredible even if the first I’d says 25 chapters weren’t that great but omggggg LUCAS FREAKING MILLER IM DYING This book is so well written and the slow burn wowww I loved it !!!!!!
I enjoyed this book, It haves a slow burn with childhood friends to lovers, redemption arc but it took me awhile to read since it was very long but I felt it could of been short but overall I loved this book since it had childhood friends to lovers and found family <2
oh my god. this book gave me all the feels. it made me sad, horny, and happy. the plot was rich and thick and the slow burn was torturous, in the most pleasurable way.
