Thank you to Booksprout and Eve S Evans and R Harrell for this ARC copy and the opportunity to read and review True Ghost Stories of First Responders.
The first words that come to mind when reviewing this is bone-chilling. I couldn’t tell you how many times I literally got chills reading this book. I was sitting in a room full of people at work (police dispatcher) and found myself having to put it down several times because I was a little freaked. I really truly enjoyed this book. Law enforcement has been part of my life since 1995 when I began as military police, went into the civilian world as a jailer and them dispatch. I have also married a police officer. A lot of the terminology I understood, but the writers went on to describe certain things to clarify for those that wouldn’t understand. I recommend this book to anyone, just beware, you’ll get scared!

Life and spirit are entertwined.

Well written. Is it true? What do you believe? There are a lot of things that we have no answer for.

Needs an editor, badly

The stories were kind of “meh” but does allow room for “what if” musings. It is in need of an editor because it is riddled with misspelling, punctuation issues and more. I know this because I am an editor and I couldn’t even get through it because I was mentally editing it and that’s not why I read books.

I always love to read about other people;s paranormal encounters and what better people to tell some spin-tingling tales then the men & women of the first responders crew.

I received a copy from BookSprout; this is my honest review.
-So, chapter 1 starts at 7% and the book finishes around 80%. Before and after you get advertisement for other books and samples.
-I wasn't scared of any of those stories but they got me to think about my own experiences.
-Also, for some stories, I was wondering why there was no further investigations from the cold cases. It was clear someone had been murdered there and nothing was done afterwards.
-The most touching were The Guard Rail and Beneath The Surface.
-The most incredible were The Wreck and Help is on The Way.
-The creepiest (and the only one too) was Shadowed.
-The only problems I saw in editing were both in the same story: insured/ensured, site/cite.
-My star off is mainly because there was no working Table of Contents. I wanted to go back to certain stories but couldn't unless I flipped through all the pages again.

I enjoyed these ghost stories. This is a newer author for me and I look forward to seeing what is next for them. This is a book of stories from first responders who come across paranormal things that are happening with no explaination. I enjoyed how I was pulled into their stories from the beginning and kept engaged to the end. Each account is different but will keep you wondering. I truly enjoyed this book and found it to well developed. I highly recommend this book.

Unexplained, true experiences, most more thought provoking than scary, unless you are the people experiencing them. I keep wanting to know why some didn’t go back by the light of day to reinspect the area…But if I had experienced it myself, maybe I would feel differently.

Mostly had The breath of believablity

Stories 5 & 8 seem to be duplicates; as if both were recalled, transcribed, thrown into a drawer, then retrieved later & thought to be individual stories, then included into this volume, with proofreading The entire collection ( ? )
There is also a set of Sneak Peeks; stories from future collections, which all seemed ‘made up’ !

Collection of chilling stories about ghosts based upon true stories of first responders that are thought provoking, scary and emotional. The stories are based on real incidents and this is what I found made the stories compelling to read. The stories are well written and described in detail.

Excellent read

I really liked this collection of short stories. They were true and honest tales without any embellishments from people who really are with our lives ones at the very point of deAth or shortly afterwards.

Great Read!

This book was filled with great stories from law enforcement and eats about their paranormal experience. It's cool to hear the stories that they have while working in this field.

Could not finish.
I was incredibly excited for this book but between the horrible punctuation and the terrible wording … I couldn’t get into this book. The stories feel like they’re being written/told by a child, don’t waste your time.

DNF - There's a disclaimer at the start that says SOME of these stories are true with out saying how many or which. I an avid reader of true paranormal books and it ruined it for me to know that any of the stories I was reading could be fiction.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is a good collection of stories from what first responders experienced on the job. Just an added bonus that may not be wanted but happens all the same.
