Lone survivor, Zak Mills, searches for food, water and ammo in the tattered remains of his home town. Hiding in the shadows around every dirty corner are road pirates, gangs of cannibals and blood thirsty demons.
Zak fights through this hell on Earth all the while he desperately clings to the hope that he will be reunited with his lost family.
Joseph Zuko lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and daughters. The Infected: Jim's First Day was his first novel. He recently released the final chapter in The Infected Series. When he is not writing horror fiction he spends his free time with his family, playing barbies with his girls and getting ready for the next Spartan Race. Joseph now has 8 books in The Infected series and one stand-alone horror fiction novel, Sweet Home. Sweet Home is a break from zombies to pursue a few serial killers. Make sure to find Zuko on Facebook and stay in the loop. https://www.facebook.com/JosephZombie...
Mr. Zuko has a hit a home run with his new 'Revved' series. This first book was fueled with horror, thrills, chills and suspense. What an ending - Wow - Just Wooow.... Cannot wait to see where the next book takes Zak and friends as they run from not only the "revved" demons but a huge horde of human cannibals who are quite literally "blood thirsty" for revenge on Zak and co. Great first novel. Quite frankly, whether Joseph Zuko is writing about zombies (Infected series) or murderous escaped felons (Stand alone - 'Sweet Home') he never disappoints and I always look forward to everything he writes.
Changed rating to a 4.5 Gruesome, bloody zombie fiction. Exactly the type of thing I was kind of looking for. Okay... not really. The ebook was free and I decided to give it a shot. I haven't read a good zombie book for a while and this one didn't disappoint. I mean, there was content I didn't necessarily like but as a story this was a lot of fun. I can only hope we are getting a sequel because that ending was not a good place to leave off. Zuko has some dark dystopian ideas, clearly, and I might have to check out some of his other works. I needed something relatively short and easy to get through and that's exactly what I got.
Revved is written in the Joseph Zuko style I love, fast paced on the edge of your seat horror that pushes your "EW!" tolerance to 1000%. It hits the ground running and keeps on running away with you. I've read Zukos previous books and I am surprised to find that I like this book the best so far. The characters sucked me in immediately and I wanted to dive right in and get to know this crazy world better. My advice? Pick up this book and clear your schedule. You're not going to want to put it down until the end.
Omg I did not want this book to end. Mr Zuko you were not out of you mind because the storyline and characters were genius. I read this genre just about daily and read hundreds of books using my KU. This is my favorite boom this year. Zak is a man driven to find and save his family. He has learned to stay away from people since there are pirates and cannibals all over the city. His life changes when he us stocked by a revved, one of the creatures changed, saves Dana and Erik from hunger and death. The characters messed so well together and the way each of their past story is told is so well done. I was very impressed. There is fighting, violence, creatures, but there is also humor, well written dialogue, and two more well developed characters added. I really hope this is a serious I would love to rejoin Zak, Dana, and Erik on their journey. If you love apocalyptic fiction especially with characters you want to meet and a interesting storyline then do not hesitate and read this book.
I have been a fan of Joe Zuko’s writing since he first delivered “The Infected” series about 10 years ago. I wasn’t sure if I could handle a book outside of Joe’s zombie epic, but I was more than pleasantly surprised! This book is riveting!
“Revved” stands for the expression used to describe the horrors that now plague the planet, and we follow Zak on his journey from loving family-man to lone-wolf survivor in a kick-ass car and beyond.
I hope that “Revved” gets a chance to expand it’s universe. I would love to read more about the world and learn why the event happened.
This is going to sound weird for a horror book full of visceral gore, but it is incredibly wholesome. Seriously. You’ll have to read and let me know what you think.
A really exciting book. I definitely got involved in the storyline. It's intense and fast paced with plenty of action to keep you on the edge of your seat. Zak is a great character and you feel for him in his quest to find his family. Great flesh eating creatures. Looking forward to the next book.
Man! What a story! It started out great and went uphill! I’ve read many different apocalyptic books but nothing compares to this one. I absolutely love Zak. Love the car, his ocd, the warehouse…everything about him. And the twist at the end with Riot? I so did not see that one coming. I’m hoping Zak’s story goes on in another book!
This story was insane. In some places the writing and editing was a little off but not too bad. The story was interesting and if there is a second book I would definitely read it.
One horrifyingly, awful, stomach clenching event piled on another. Death, destruction, violence & total loss of hope twisted in a tale of unbelievable evil. Even at the end there is barely a flicker of any possible good happening ever. Mind bending.
Wow. I haven't been creeped out in a while. The revved is so descriptive that my imagination goes overboard. I love the characters' strength and passion. Loved it!
