If you follow my reviews, you’ve heard me say a time or a million that how a book makes you feel is just as important if not more so than the actual mechanics of the storyline. Stories can be really well written while at the same time frustrate the reader and the reverse is also correct. That’s just one example to illustrate my point, but there is a myriad of combos that could make or break a reader’s feelings while reading the story. I felt hope more predominantly than any other feeling, but I also felt happiness and triumph, a whole lot of sparkling chemistry and big heap of heart!!
Both Liam and Juliana latched on to my heart from the very beginning. I wasn’t just rooting for their HEA, I was also rooting for them, because as much as this book is a romance journey, it’s also a growth journey for both of these people. And the greatest part of all that was they needed each other to be able to get thru their hurdles. I don’t want to give away a single plot point to explain that further but it’s like they’d both been living to meet each other. I know, I know, sounds fantastical and whimsical but trust me, it’s #TrueStory and it made this story that much more captivating and real.
I don’t know what else to say except if you’re looking for a story that is more than meets the eye, pick this book up and give it a try. Eva Charles knows how to mix the swoon with the sexy and wrap it all up in a beautiful package and when you get done with this book, I highly recommend you read The Devil’s Due series by her … #ilickeditsoitismineALLmine :)

5 Star Review of Sexy Sinner (A Cocky Hero Club book) by Eva Charles
I am loving this series as I have found so many new authors to read. Sexy Sinner is part of The Cocky Hero Club inspired by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward.
I was hooked on the story that Eva Charles wove from the first to the last chapter. I really loved the main characters of Dr. Liam Dailey and Maria Juliana Clayton. Add in the fact that we get to see one of my favourite couples Simon and Bridget make an appearance and I couldn’t wait to read this one.
This was a heart warming, emotional story that ticked the boxes for me. The chemistry between Lian and Juliana is steamy and full of witty banter. I fell hard and fast for Liam, he is totally swoon worthy and there is so much more to the caring doctor than meets the eye. Juliana is a strong determined woman whose walls I was cheering for Liam to be able to know down.
There were some surprising twists and turns that added an additional layer to my enjoyment. All in all this was a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Sexy Sinner by Eva Charles is so beautiful, so heartwarming and EMOTIONAL yet has such fun and steamy moments as well.
I am so glad I decided to read Sexy Sinner which is part of the Cocky Hero Club Series. I’ve never read a book from this series, nor have a I read the world that has based off of which were two novels written by created by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland.
Sexy Sinner starts off so fun. A hot doctor, an also sexy feisty lawyer, a little banter, and flirting. This book had me HOOKED right from the start. I adore intelligent witty banter in my novels. It all just seemed so cute and something that could actually happen.
This novel was SO refreshing. I found myself smiling, gaping, pouting and swooning the whole time.
Juliana and Liam didn’t have an easy relationship but they made it work.
Juliana is a defense Liam is a doctor in his surgical residency. Juliana’s got walls up, and honestly, who can blame her? She’s so busy and young but turns out, Liam is okay with that and he’s willing to put in the work to make her his.
I literally couldn’t put this book down. There are major twists and touching moments that hit hard. There is so much more to Liam than initially meets the eye. He seems cocky but we get the gist early on that he’s actually a really nice person. Liam is so mature and open and honest. Do you know how nice it is to read a romance novel where the two protagonists actually have honest conversations? Liam and Juliana were so levelheaded and reasonable with each other’s feelings. I loved them both. You can instantly tell that these two are made for each other.
Their relationship isn’t without it’s share of obstacles. Juliana wants to know what Liam is hiding from her and you will NEVER guess what it is.
I highly recommend all romance lovers read this book. I loved the raw connection and realistic portrayal of this successful modern-day couple. Liam is total boyfriend goals with his intelligence and dominance. Swoon.
I look forward to more Eva Charles books. I was HIGHLY impressed by this one.

I liked it a lot. But fair warning: don’t expect a clear line between good and bad, black and white. There ARE moral struggles in this book, and that’s the part that I enjoyed the most.
Between a male character who changed his career–let’s just say that the previous one was deeply connected to morality–and a female one who’s a defense attorney who believes that everyone deserves a good defense–including mass shooters–grey is the main color here. All along the story, they slowly shift their moral point of view so they can meet in the middle. And it isn’t easy.
I loved that element too. Most of the time, being in a relationship implies working for it. Usually, it’s later, when the lovestruck phase has ended. Here, it’s right at the beginning, and that means that the characters are serious about it from the start–interesting twist on the instalove trope.
I felt a bit confused at first by Juliana’s family, until I understood that they all came from another series from the author. Then I realized that I had enough details to appreciate the characters and their story–though it got me curious about a few of them and I may revisit them in the future.
I had troubles sometimes understanding the changes in the characters’ moods and feelings, but I still connected with them and enjoy watching them build a solid relationship.

Liam's trying his hardest not to judge when the beautiful patient of his is telling him what could possibly have caused her symptoms. He's seen and heard it all as an ER doc, so why is her explanation weirding him out? Something about a gerbil...thank God it's just a funny prank his colleagues at his new job are playing on him. He doesn't want her to leave once he realizes she's not really a patient, but when he tries to get a moment to ask for her number, it goes all wrong and he knows he blew it. But when he sees that same gorgeous woman in the parking lot obviously needing some help with her tire, it's his in. Even if she denies it, denies him, there's a spark and he will use that number he manages to get from her. But can two people with baggage possibly be together? Especially once it's clear he doesn't understand or respect her job as a defense attorney when it comes into direct conflict with his job?
First off - I want my doctor to be Liam! He's so sweet and kind (and dirty in the bedroom too!), with the heart we all want in not just our doctors, but in our partners. I felt so badly for him when his past was revealed that I just wanted to give him a big hug. I love that he was paired with a sassy, tell it like it is woman like Juliana. She didn't let him get away with anything, and saw him for the amazing person he was, even if he didn't see the same in himself. These two had hotter than hot chemistry, and that soul deep kind of connection that doesn't happen very often. Though I haven't read anything else by this author, I will be sure to now that I've found her writing to be so good.

Eva Charles’ Sexy Sinner is a love story showing that very thing - sometimes the only thing standing between you and true love can be yourself. But self doubts and self judgment can be the hardest of hurdles to conquer. And so ensues the love story of Liam and Juliana.
Both strong willed and determined, often times, unknowingly, these two are the driving force to help them get out of their own way. Juliana is very independent and has complete tunnel vision when it comes to her career. It’s one of her top priorities. Liam, although his professional path is clear, he struggles to find what he’s missed most of his life. He’s always known how to cope and move along in life, but meeting Juliana is quite possibly life altering. There is a rawness that these two bring up to the surface in one another. And dealing with what is conjured up, doesn’t always smooth over well. Their journey is full of lumps, bumps and scratches. But their passion for one another is so magnetic and alluring.
I adored the feel of this story so much. From Juliana’s family ties to the warmth of her family’s home. The bond that Liam has with his friends and co-workers. The elaborate description that Eva provides in all facets evokes emotion and a strong sense of hope. It all works together so that you feel as though you have been picked up and placed right in the thick of it.
This is the only book that I have been able to read from this series. But boy I’m so happy that it was this one! Eva Charles really knows how to grab you and bring you in. And this story has such a uniquely, perfect back story that the “sin” of it, is hands down deliciously naughty. Pick it up, get comfy, and immerse yourself. You will absolutely love this one!!!

Sexy Sinner's complexity was refreshing! It might sound like a strange statement, but here is the thing: people are complicated, life is not a straight line, and everyone faces situations with moral struggles. And this is exactly what Eva Charles captured in her book, the very essence of human complexity.
Both Julianna and Liam know what it feels like to lose their parents. But while Julianna was surrounded by family and constantly showered by love, Liam was left craving comfort and affection. Julianna has her life planned to the minute. In fact, her life is devoted to her career, as she is set to be independent and to demonstrate to her family that she can make it on her own. Liam is trying to be who has always supposed to be and is struggling with acceptance of decisions taken for the wrong reasons. They are similar, yet they complement each other. They will both have to learn that the past doesn't define the present.
Eva Charles is a new-to-me author and Sexy Sinner definitely picked my interest. There is a whole set of interesting secondary characters, mostly on Julianna's side of the family, that come from one of Eva's previous series. Can you guess what I'll be reading next?

Delicious, spicy and emotional
Eva Charles' addition to the Cocky Hero Club, SEXY SINNER, was superb. it was passionate, emotional and decadent ... just as I have come to expect from Ms. Charles. Set in the world of British Bedmate, SEXY SINNER introduces Liam Dailey and Juliana Clayton, two characters you just can't help falling in love with.
"Liam Dailey with his sparkly blue eyes and dimpled smile was trouble with a capital T. I felt it in my bones."
Liam and Juliana have both experienced devastating tragedy in their lives, Liam when he was five years old and Juliana when she was sixteen. Both tragedies were to have a profound affect on their life, one went on to lose themself and struggle emotionally, while the other always felt the need to excel because of the sacrifices of others. Liam and Juliana are both determined, and it is this determination that has, at times, often put barriers in their own way ... sometimes they fail to look beyond the square they find themselves in.

I adored the pairing of Liam and Juliana. Liam has recently resumed his medical career as a surgical resident and Juliana is a defense attorney. Meeting during a prank pulled by Liam's friends, their attraction and chemistry was instantaneous. However, Juliana ensured that Liam had to work for what he wanted. I loved the way they supported each other's careers, however it was emotionally where they struggled. Hearts are laid on the line and occasionally broken. As their relationship progresses, Liam realises that he must tell Juliana the secret of his past. What will her reaction be? Their journey is not an easy one, there are lots of ups and downs along the way, but it is their passion and their love that keeps them strong.

The role of friends and family is a vital ingredient in the lives of Liam and Juliana, and Ms. Charles has ensured that they play their parts well. They act, at times as though they are the consciences of Liam and Juliana, giving advice and love when it is needed. I adored Juliana's grandmother, Vovo, this woman may be in her nineties, but she certainly knows how to get her way.
From beginning to end, SEXY SINNER was a delicious, spicy and emotional read. Two strong characters who, despite their past, endeavour to fulfill their dreams. Emotionally your heart will break, however it will be repaired as Liam and Julianas's friendship grows in strength, regardless of the hurdles they face. A thoroughly enjoyable and beautiful story from Eva Charles, a sublime development of a relationship, an unexpected background story, and some heated and spicy moments that will definitely melt your panties.

Emotionally your heart will break, however it will be repaired as Liam and Julianas's friendship grows in strength, regardless of the hurdles they face. A thoroughly enjoyable and beautiful story from Eva Charles, a sublime development of a relationship, an unexpected background story, and some heated and spicy moments that will definitely melt your panties.

Eva Charles is the author that I have known for her darker and more hmm... dark books, that are not your usual romances, and I love those! Then I found out that the author I really like is contributing to A Cocky Hero Club World. And you know what? Ms. Charles did a great job here!
We start with a sexy doctor taking an old patient into an appointment, but he is up to be surprised and almost thrown off his own feet when he will see 27 years old instead of a 72-year-old grandma. When I started I was bought by the doc from the very start, I knew we would click along the way. What will come after a meeting with a young woman that needed help?
Juliana was made to go to the ER, she's a defense layer, that will be doing everything to help the weak ones, that need protection. She is sweet, but she also has some issues, but in this world who can blame her? No one, as sometimes we need them to protect our inner selves, but when you meet the right guy who is ready to help you fight your issues.
Be ready to feel hard punches during this read as Ms. Charles is not taking any hostages while reading and this worked so so good. Liam is more complex than I would ever expect, you know I hate flat characters, but he falls in the opposite of this category. That meant I had a place to fall for him, and I did so! He has his honesty when he can, the same goes for Juliana! She will have one place where morals will strike but isn't that a life where we have to choose what is good and what is wrong? Some secrets were hidden for a very good reason, and getting to know them will make you spit if you drink anything! It was my case! I loved how they were gradually getting to know each other and falling for each other!
So if you are not sure what to read - go for this story! It's so worth taking your time and spending time with getting to now Juliana and Liam! Both of them are so worth it!

This book was equal parts sexy, mysterious and oh so captivating. I was glued to the pages of this story. It starts out with such a memorable beginning, that will have you laughing out loud, where the hero and heroine meet and it just continues to get better and better as the story goes on. Liam and Juliana are headstrong characters who have had difficult pasts that they are trying to work through. Liam has his own set of demons that he is battling and has a surprising past that I didn’t see coming but found very intriguing. As his past is unfolded, you get to see so many layers to this beautiful and complicated man and it has made him one of the most interesting book characters I have ever read. Together, Liam and Juliana are fire, inside and outside of the bedroom. They have a lot of differences that they need to overcome and communication isn’t always their strong suit, but I thoroughly enjoyed their journey to their happily-ever-after. I would highly recommend this book. As with all the books in the Cocky Hero Club Collection, this book is a complete standalone. It features some of the loveable characters from Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s book British Bedmate, which this book was inspired by.

Juliana was simply a part of a harmless prank. But her target seemed to change his trajectory to her. Dr. Liam Dailey made her all tingly and ticked off at the same time. But when he was her chance Knight In Shining Armor, she softened a bit. However, she needed to remember he could be an obstacle in her life, and that could never happen.
Dr. Liam Dailey personifies the reference of ‘still waters run deep’. He is most definitely more than what meets the eye. His past is littered with guilt, remorse, and anger. When Juliana stirs up feelings he never thought possible, never wanted, he begins a new journey. But she’s the lightness that he feels, he sees, he needs. But once she knows about his past, his secrets, will she run?
Liam and Juliana have both suffered losses that we all can relate to, different circumstances, but the same pain and loss. Juliana feels a debt to her family, Liam feels indebted to more than he can account for.
I loved the strength and dedication Juliana had. She understood the world around her, she stood strong, almost unbreakable. Liam pulled at my heartstrings. His guilt consumed him even though he was trying to right wrongs that he labeled himself. He backed himself into a corner that didn’t exist. But his love and loyalties were steadfast. That I admired.

I've read this author's darker stories which I loved so seeing a slightly softer side to her writing was certainly interesting, but still a great read and still on the super sexy side.
OMG my heart broke for Liam. I just wanted to pick him up and give him all the cuddles in the world. He may have been a sexy as sin Doctor but he was the biggest sweetheart. Really, what woman wouldn't love a man to give her that many happy feelings.
I loved that Juliana was such a strong woman, devoted to her family and those less fortunate than her but there was a few times during this book that I wanted to give her a bucket of cold water wake up call.
With so much tragedy in both their pasts it was easy to see how these two brilliant characters would be guarded in their present and future, but I'm so glad that they worked together, eventually, through their baggage and got the HEA they both so rightly deserved.
I love dual POV stories because you get to dig in that much deeper to what each is thinking. This one will toy with your emotions here and there but it was such a well written story you won't be able to put it down.
I'd be intrigued to know if maybe one day we'll get to read Grace & Jake's story.

I really enjoy the Cocky Hero Club books, that being said...I honestly don't think any other author could have inspired as much emotion and thought with the subject of this book. Liam's gut wrenched soul, Juliana's sense of self worth and love is just well felt in this book. For being what I consider to be a "light" read ( size of book) it certainly didn't leave me feeling like I missed much. Great book Eva Charles!! ❤

Liam comes across an interesting patient. He has a friend that drops a bomb that may surprise you. It shows how creative our author is – never come across a character like him before. Juliana isn’t who she seems. Her job is a thankless one but doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have a heart.
This is the third book that I’ve read by this author. It was a great re-introduction. There’s ups and downs, emotions at time may seem to be running high, there’s indecision, and just the right amount of steam. There were hints of our current situation and this is my first book with that included. It just adds some realism into a fictional tale. She made it very easy to picture what her characters were doing and feeling. Nothing felt like it was out of the realm of possibilities.
The book takes place in my neck of the woods and the state where I like to enjoy some downtime. I can see myself bringing this book with me when I go to visit my favorite beach. And if I don’t want to read, then I’ll have to make sure to take the audiobook so I can enjoy the sites instead of inside a book.

Liam and Juliana . . .a doctor and a lawyer. They are complete and total opposites. Both are incredibly passionate in the way they live and in their beliefs. While they are a fiery match, it doesn't feel like they should work as a couple.
Both of them have so much baggage. But, I swear, Liam. Dailey may have more baggage to unpack than any character I have ever read, which leads to some incredible plot moments and a relationship that is full of landmines the other can’t always avoid.
I loved that this wasn’t the easy romance the title led me to believe it was. Juliana is such an impassioned woman. Driven in her career and protective of her family. She is also incredibly thoughtful and empathetic, even when dealing with issues that would drive most people away. And, Liam is a brilliant individual. He may come across as confident and cocky but he really is a lost soul needing a safe harbor as he wades through years of emotional trauma.
Sexy Sinner was intense and emotional . . . so much more than the title implies. This couple fights hard for everything they have and it was a phenomenal story wrapped up in a whole lot of sexy! 5 stars

I’m lob ping my visit the Cocky Hero Club World, I have found so many new authors to follow as well as so many new book boyfriends. Sexy Sinner is a wonderful addition to this club.
Dr Liam Dailey has me hooked from the moment I met him with his first very funny interaction with Maria Juliana Clayton in the Emergency Room, what looked like a very embarrassing emergency was actually a setup by Bridget and we can’t have a visit from Bridget without Simon being far behind her and that added to the entertainment and enjoyment of this story.
This book touched me on so many levels, I smiled, I laughed, I swooned and I sighed as I joined Liam and Juliana on their journey. Juliana is a strong heroine and Liam is a hero who turns out to be so much more than just a caring doctor and that’s what took this book to another level. The chemistry is sizzling, the banter is witty and once you add in some twists and turns, some visits from some favourite characters from the past mixed with the wonderful new characters you get a fantastic read.
Loved everything about Sexy Sinner and I urge you all to one click this gem.

WOW! What a read. When characters just leap off the page, you know as a reader you’re in for one heck of a ride. Sexy Sinner was one of those page turning novels that I just couldn’t put down. We get a sexy doctor who has emotional issues he must come to grips with and a strong heroine who knows what she wants in life. Both must come to grips with their own emotional struggles and how they can overcome obstacles that could keep them apart. There’s just enough sex that kept this reader waiting to see what happens next and a plot that kept this novel moving at a great pace. I laughed, I cried, and I cheered with an epilogue that was perfect for this couple. I highly recommend Sexy Sinner to add to your TBR pile. You won’t be disappointed.

I'll never get enough of anything Eva Charles writes so Sexy Sinner was a no brainer for me to read. Liam is working on his surgical residency while Juliana is a defense attorney and they come face to face because of a prank. These two have sparks flying from the jump but both were guarded which didn't make things a perfect journey however, it did make it an emotional journey for we the readers as Ms. Charles knows how to make me feel. Juliana actually was the more difficult one despite the secrets Liam was holding close to the vest, but he was 100% willing to put the work in to make her his. On top of the emotional, there are funny moments, obviously heat, secrets that made a twist or two because nothing is black & white, and a couple that I loved so hard! You don't want to pass on this one so get to it! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I loved the journey this author took these characters on- as well as me. Although, in the beginning of his book I wasn't quite sure where it was leading me to!!! Juliana has her future laid out and will let nothing get in her way of that...Not even a Dr. Dirty. They have both suffered significant loss in their life and have both handled this in different ways. Will they be strong enough to get over the guilt? Both of these characters touched my heart and had me laughing and crying. I also loved how we got to get to know some of Juliana's extended family. I felt a kindred spirit with her Portuguese roots. I love how this author writes and makes me feel when reading her words. It is such a gift!!!!

This book has it all: beautiful storyline, strong emotions, difficult moments, lots of love and of course steamy moments. More than anything, I will remember the beginning of this book when I couldn't stop laughing. It all starts with a prank and it's hilarious.
A hot doctor (ex priest) and feisty lawyer are the perfect combination. Dr. Liam Dailey and Maria Juliana Clayton are the perfect couple, although their path to happiness isn't easy. They both dealt with loss that changed their lives in the past. One one hand they are pretty similar yet very different on the other hand. The chemistry between the main characters was explosive. I was hooked to the story from first to the last word.

I love the dilemmas that Liam and Julianna have to work through separately and together! I think that Eva gives us an an amazing story with the perfect balance for sweat inducing, body trembling, toe tingling sexy times! A wonderful story that makes me wish I could read it for the first time all over again!

This was definitely a tiny bit taboo. I went in blind, so I wasn't sure if I'd be comfortable to finish. But I did finish. There's more to the story than what it seems. It's not always black or white. Liam's story was not what it could have stereotypically been. As was the same with Juliana and her profession. The two both used their beliefs and morals to judge each other at times. I found that fascinating. And for those that like that sort of thing, Liam wasn't afraid to create some major fireworks. I'm glad I finished the book.

When Dr. Liam Dailey’s friends play a prank on him in the ER and he meets Juliana Clayton life takes them down a road neither of them expected. There is definitely an instant attraction but Juliana is not quite ready for anything and they both have a lot of baggage to deal with. As Liam makes a comeback after being away from the medical field for six years there are many obstacles to overcome. Juliana has a lot to prove to herself and her family to be involved in any relationship. Will they be able to find a way to move on? I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have loved all of Eva Charles’ books and this one was no exception. Her books keep you so enthralled. You will definitely want to read this amazingly sexy story that I could not put down.

As a thing, progress so does their feeling, but Liam has some stuff he needs to work through and when Juliana finds out his secret well she's about to blow. This romance will leave you wanting more and having your heart ripped apart. Things happen, the drama unfolds, and love is persistent. But can Liam keep her or will he lose her forever?
