The Allstars #3

Twisted Creek

Rate this book
I have nothing left to give this twisted town, not a single ounce.
I’ve let them beat me down, almost break me, but it’s time I fixed my ‘Grady’ jersey, and show them I will do anything to protect what is mine.
Trying to survive Knight’s Creek without Xavier, Hunter, and Tobias is harder than I care to admit.
I have to give it my all and try again; I have to run.
I don’t know how far I’ll get, but I know I won’t give up fighting. I won’t let Ilana win. I never knew what fighting was before, but now I have something to live for. My reason for breathing.
I will be more than this town. I will be more than they’ve made me to be, and I refuse to let history repeat itself.
But when it comes down to it, will the Allstars be there when I need them the most?

Why did I hope that this would be better??! Sigh.

I'm just not happy with how this one ended. Not the actual ending, but that there was no story here and dragging nothingness into 3 books just makes me feel... tired. But on another note, this one didn't piss me off like the other two books so that's a positive, I guess?

So let's do a recap! Eden Grady's dad gets killed, her mom tells her to leave and go to the town that her parents grew up in with absolutely no information about what's happening. Her mom is scared about someone and wants Eden to just do what's told and she ends up in the town where there's nothing but secrets. She meets three guys, who are told to treat her horribly for some reason by one of the guys' mom. Eden finds out that she has a twin brother, who was practically non existent all her life and some kind of "exchange-the-babies-and-running-away" crap happened soon after they were born. She falls for the guys, but someone is trying to pull strings in the background with threats about her getting "buried alive".
These are the three facts that's been unsolved for majority of the series..including more than half of the final book,
✔️No one has any idea about what's happening.
✔️No one knows why one of the guys' mom hates Eden so much.
✔️No one knows what's happening in this crazy town!!!

And with all this crazy buildup and an unplanned pregnancy, the story ends with a whole lot of nothing. Like literally, there's nothing here. All the hate was for something as petty as jealousy, which to be honest makes no sense because what does Xavier's mom achieve by wanting to bury Eden alive?! And for them to end the story by getting the villain shot like whaaaaat?! Why didn't they just shoot the villain in the first place if that's how the ending was going to be?!! It's like a repetition of Our Bloodline's ending. This huge crazy villain that's been feared since book one, gets shot in a lame scene and "The End".

And don't get me started on trying to make a cameo scene with one of the guys from the Featherstone series. Like this guy had "no business" being there and I couldn't stop laughing at the way he was conveniently placed in this book. Like what happened to him when two other people were getting shot during this scene?! Was he on a tea break??!!!

So, no hate to this author. I loved the Featherstone series, despite the way it ended with no flair! And I wholeheartedly thank K.C Kean for introducing me to MM!! But, to create a story out of nothing is just disappointing.

THIS BOOK WAS SOOO GOOD. SUCH A GREAT ENDING!!!
I LOVED the epilogue. It was completely perfect. I kinda hope we get a novella sometime in the future.
P.S. I went crazy when that certain character paid a suprise visit in the book.

Left disappointed

So the first 55% if the book felt non consequential. I mean she was gone for a few days and nothing really happened and as soon as the Allstars said we're coming she said yep OK. I liked the paternal grandparent twist and felt that was all done and discovered naturally. But that ending, aghhh. It felt rushed and completely unsatisfying for it to end the way it did, after so much hype and the previous books being heavy for the emotional and psychological threats. And most of that went on unexplained, and solved with a bullet?! We could have solved this much earlier if it was that simple. Then there is the random loose thread with Lou Lou that came out of nowhere! I will say the author has really built up Ryan and Beth's story so I'm hoping that is good. But ultimately just feeling flat from that ending.

This series has honestly blown my mind, what an emotional rollercoaster it has been. I couldn't have wished for a better ending for the all stars and our girl Eden, they FINALLY got the ending they deserved 🙏🏻 my heart is full but also broken that it's the end of their story!! The boys in this book MELTED ME!! They were so cute with how they handled everything and anything to do with **** (just incase you are reading this and not started the series yet 🤐) Tobias and his facts were cracking me up. At the start of this book I really couldn't see the happy ending, I was on the edge of my seat going into this book. Let's talk about the fact that BEATHANY AND RYAN are getting their own book!! HELL YESS. I am all here for that 🤩.. I loved all the characters throughout, archie and charlie. Lou Lou; who by the way is also possibly getting her own story!! Yaaasss. I want to go into more depth about the book but it's impossible without spoilers 😫🤐 I really reccomend this series. You wont be disappointed!!

This book, this entire series, is just fucking FABULOUS. I love taking the chance on new authors and then just falling completely in love with the way they write, and also the way they evoke all the emotions out of you. From the very first page on the first book, I was so obsessed with Eden. She's a literal queen, and I fucking loved how she owned her sexuality and didn't make excuses for liking sex just as much as her men. We don't get that enough in romances-- especially in the bully genre, and here our queen owns these men and I am all here for it!!

So if you asked me in book two which man had the top spot, it would be Hunter hands down. But the soft side of Xavier?! HOLY SHIT TITS. I just can't. That man slays me when he's all soft and emotional and open with Eden, but is still that badass, controlling motherfucker. God I love him. Hunter definitely still has a special place in my heart too! Every time he called her "love" I legit swooned. And who would have thought he would be the dominate one? Holy fuck.🔥🔥 and then there's Tobias -- he really surprised me here. He's the one in the group that always masks the seriousness of the situation with a joke, but he was all in with Eden and the baby, and he didn't even blink when he knew there was a chance it wouldn't be his. Xavier and Hunter are his brothers in every sense of the word, and now that Eden is pregnant, he immediately wanted them in a way that just came so natural to him. He's such a softie, and the I love yous that he exchanged with Eden was just so spot on! Plus his pregnancy facts were just hilarious!

You definitely get all the twists before you get any answers to the mystery surrounding Eden and Illana. There's so much heartbreak involved too for everyone, but I loved how Ryan and Bethany stepped up for Eden and became one of the most important people in her life. Added to the fact that Bethany is Hunters big sister just reinforced the family feel. I also loved the romance between Charlie & Archie, and Lou Lou!! I can't wait to start her book!!

This series is going down as one of my favorite RH's, and just favorite series period. Now I'm going to fall down the rabbit hole of obsessing over all of this authors work! You all need to one click now!

I am a massive fan of KC Kean and anything she writes and this series was no exception. A fantastic ending to a story that kept me enthralled through all three books. I love how it ended and I can not wait to read the books that are going to be spin offs from this. KC Kean is a definite instant one click for me and can not recommend this book highly enough.

Fantastic end to this series!

LOVED LOVED LOVED this series! Twisted Creek is the final book in this series, and brings it to a very satisfying close.

With a perfect mix of action, suspense, steam, sentimentality, humour, and plenty of feelings, I enjoyed every minute of it, forgoing all responsibilities to keep reading.

Highly recommended and definitely worth ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

Sorry not sorry… there is one scene in this book that makes me question everything:

The FMC is SUPER into music, reminiscing in a music shop about albums her dad used to play and the memories that went with it. Then, she focuses on digging through the seas of music in front of her and picks up her favorite album: Nickleback…..

*record scratch* UM… WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K?!

I’m all for people liking what they do and being into whatever weird shit they are into and having their opinions regardless of my personal views, because we were blessed with the luxury to do so…. But I HAVE to truly question someone’s taste & question their decision making skills if their favorite album (in the millions of options available) is by Nickleback.

To each their own… but… 👀😮‍💨🤨

(Note: this is my own snarky opinion and meant as satire… just poking fun at the authors decision on a tiny and non-critical scene & not meant to be taken seriously)

Bit long winded, don't know if it really needed 3 books. Stretched on a bit with no one actually doing anything about the problem.
Why did she purposefully mess with edens birth control? That bit made no sense to me at all!
End was a bit anticlimactic, shot by a random. All that because she was crazy? Jealous?
What happened to reza? Couldn't he have explained it all?
But liked the happy ending.

“This is who I want to be, Nafas, without the air in Knight’s Creek intoxicating me. I want to be this person. I want to feel love, happiness, and joy.”

I am obsessed with this series. I love KC and her brain! This series had me hooked from start to finish. If you love an RH series full of steamy AF scenes with multiple eggplant action, intense jaw dropping drama with crazy plot twists, and fierce loyal bad a$s heroes and Heroines you will want to read this ASAP! Seriously Eden and her guys are one of my favorite RH’s.

In this book if you’ve read the first two you know how crazy the cliffhanger left us hanging from book 2 but this book picks up literally right where we were left off. I loved how much was in this book. Everything was resolved and taken care and I was cheering so many of them on with how much they were able to accomplish and how they faced their challenges. I will seriously miss this crew. Eden, Xavier, Hunter, and Tobias are goals haha. They all love fiercely and proudly. These guys have been through a lot and so had Eden but I loved that they have each other and know the lengths they’re willing to go for one another.
The side characters are also seriously amazing. I cannot wait for Lou Lou’s story! And I’m dying for Batman and Beth’s story! Seriously I think Ryan could be Batman at this point haha.

Alright, I’ve finished this series. And good gravy, this is probably one of the most fun bully-romance RH’s I’ve ever read.

I love love love Eden, she isn’t as fierce as I’d anticipated. But definitely strong enough to stand her ground.
Xavier is the alpha, no question. And I loved his progress through all three books.
Hunter is our sweet tortured soul, and him learning to love someone after his past is absolutely beautiful.
Tobias, Lordy me, he’s the jokester. The fun one, and honestly just makes the whole group so much better.

I have so much love for these characters. Every single one of them.

A few things about the ending. It was a little anti-climactic, I was hoping for a big reveal and a intense moment before the dust settles. But it didn’t happen.

The ‘why’ throughout the story wasn’t as spectacular as I’d hoped for. Especially because the anticipation was KILLER. But honestly, this whole series is worth it, everything comes together so perfectly that I was smiling like a damn idiot at my kindle while reading the epilogue.

Author for real be realistic no one who is on the run is that stupid. Even if Lou Lou was not there it should have been Charlie going in a disguise. The fact that Lou lou was there means she could have just went shopping by herself Llana didn’t even know about her. How stupid can u be to send several unneeded known people that are actively being looked for in to the store. You only need one to shop and it should have been Lou Lou. Also grocery delivery is also a thing do these idiots could have had someone drop off groceries without ever seeing them.

Wow so there is absolutely no reason for what llana does if u expect her to finally come clean and you figure out why she is doing these things you will be very disappointed she never does the story just ends. Thats it the end. Good thing I was not reading this for the plot because it would have negative stars. This series over all was 1 star.

"You saw the worst parts of my soul first, and you still somehow managed to fall in love with me."

Eden and the Allstars have reached the end of their journey. For now. And it was a phenomenal ride.

I love Charlie, Lou-Lou, and Bethany probably the most in the entire book series😅 along with Ryan and Cody. I'm very excited to read Ryan and Bethany's story next as well.

I saw that little Featherstone nod and I would be lying if I said I didn't want to see more of that world.

I do wish that the bad guys got a bit more.... comeuppance😅 they definitely got off easy in my opinion considering everything Eden had to suffer through for a happily ever after.

So dang tired of the back and forth in this series! I feel like it had such potential, but the story never progresses. For every one step forward in these relationships it’s then 10 steps backward. I really liked her guys and how they originally won her over slowly, but she was just such a bitch to them at every turn and her “my way or no way” attitude was a turn off. Then after that won her over it was like every other day the guys would decide to push her away to “protect her”. The whiplash from this series is real.
As far as plot, the books give little explanation as to why the town is so corrupt, or why the fmc’s family was target apart from the fact that they didn’t like her mom. The mystery was not enough incentive for me to continue reading. I dnf the third book after 10%.

Eden and her guys were mesmerizing and really captured my heart in book 1, so of course I had to keep going with the trilogy. I’m so glad I did too I liked the story a lot. This was the last in a good bully romance series, which is a trope I enjoy. I also liked the whole storyline even if there were some parts that made me sad. I thought the suspense was mixed nicely with number of spicy scenes throughout, so the balance was great too.

I’d recommend this and the universe if you’re interested in RH and bully turned to romance for the MCs. I also would check the authors TW too, protecting your peace is important.

I am completely unsurprised at how much I loved this book! It was fast paced and full of steam and answers to so many pertinent questions that have come up. I enjoyed the progression of Eden and the Allstars' relationships. I've also only increased in my fascination with Lou-Lou, Ryan, and Bethany. It truly had a perfect ending. I'm beyond anxious to see what else this author is going to add to this world!

Wow I can't believe the series is over already, though I feel like we may see these guys again if Lou Lou gets a book - KC I want Lou Lou to get a book!

This one kept me on the edge of my seat, I was waiting for the bad things to come like when they take the boat back out on the water in Jaws, I held my breath a lot.

There were a few surprises thrown at us in this one, no I'm not telling. Some adorably sweet moments and plenty of steam within the pages. Does Eden get her happily for now ending of course she does it is a romance book at the end of the day. Does it come easy and without more casualties, who knows? Ok I do cos I read it and you should too 🤣

Can I just say...
That cameo and the hints about Ryan's story had me high pitched squealing. I'm so excited for Bethany and Ryans book and a young Hunter.

Perfect ending!

The perfect ending for the Allstars & their girl!! Eden & the guys are able to overcome the odds of their circumstances time & time again despite the number of people trying to put a stop to their relationship. Secrets are uncovered and family members revealed as the deep seated secrets of Kinghts Creek come out. The steam is off the charts & the epilogue has me soo excited for Bethany & Ryan's story. Can't wait for more from this world and potential crossovers with some of my favs 😍

Not gonna lie, this last book really disappointed me. I just wanted MORE.

For such a long book, nothing happened. I was skimming full pages at one point. I think if you removed the whole running away/cabin portion, it would’ve been a heck of a lot better.

The ending was anticlimactic. I’m depressed LOL

Somewhat anticlimactic and disjointed plot wise but a decent read none the less

This was a pretty decent series. Lots of plot holes though. If it were simply as easy as killing Ilana then they could have done that years ago, after all Ryan had been in the picture for a long while apparently and he's the one who helped them. The plot just didn't feel fully fleshed out and questions still weren't answered even in the end. You never figure out what her plans were for Eden or why she bothered with anything that happened when there would have been many easier better ways to achieve her goals. Her reasoning for doing what she did made little sense either and you never find out what Eden's father Carl did to get killed. It felt very confused in some places and like the plotting was half assed or sloppy at best. I really thought it was going to be some crazy reason and very involved plan and turns out it was just to have people bully her at school and send 3 or 4 threatening texts. Anticlimactic to say the least. Also, the whole thing about Eden being the older twin makes no sense either, she couldn't do anything without the other families approval anyway and why would she bother messing with Eden's birth control when she had absolutely no plans for the baby. The overall plot felt disjointed, haphazard, messy, and rushed. It didn't make a lot of sense in end just as it didn't as it was going on, not much gets wrapped up or explained and the ending didn't feel like the ending it felt like it was a stop along the way but then they decided to end it there anyway even though, again, it was rather anticlimactic and disjointed. I liked the idea of the story and the characters though, especially Charli and Archie. Also I wish people would stop using phrases like crotch goblin because it reads of pick me ass bitch I'm a cool mom I'm not a regular mom vibes and it a huge mental eye roll moment. I gave a 3 star review because as I said it was a good time passed but it left a lot to be desired plot wise and because the potential the story and the author have is much more than what was realized in this series.

Where do I begin? Well, this review may have spoilers in it from books 1 and 2 for sure and a little of this one so you have been warned! This isn't the first series I have read by KC Kean and although it wasn't my favorite of hers, it did lack a lot of things that her previous series had and that I truly admired and loved about those books. But out of all the books in this series, this was my least favorite and I will get to that in a moment as I feel as though I need to take this journey from book 1 through 3.

Book 1:
We meet Eden, her twin brother [whom she doesn't find out is her twin until way later on in this book] Archy, her bffs Charlie and Lolo [whom only plays a small role in this book but bigger in book 3], her mother Jennifer, and of course her 3 Allstars Xavier, Hunter, and Tobias. With all the twist and turns in this book I really did enjoy it and I believe I even rated it 4 Stars. Ms. Kean really did develop these characters and had the reader truly engaged in the plot and what the entire mystery of this town is and how Elaine was able to run so many people as well as ruin so many lives. This book didn't really end in a huge cliffhanger but it wet my appetite just enough for me to immediately run and get book 2 and figure out what happens next. Oh, lots of bullying and back and forth tension [including sexual tension] happens in this book and developing of relationships [both intimate and familial] occurred too.

Book 2:
We dive further into this town's history and Eden's relationship with her Allstars. They begin opening up to Eden about their awful childhoods, parents, and their inability to trust anyone beyond them three. We also meet Hunter's sister, Bethany [whom is amazing], her husband and her son. They fawn over and protect Eden with everything. This book had some more mystery in it and started feeding more and more of my appetite where I was just dying to know the mysteries of this town and again how this one lady had so much damn control. I rated this book 4 stars as well. That cliffhanger was a doozy after all :) ... and not I will not be ruining that for anyone so go on and read it; you won't be disappointed.

Book 3:
Well here is where I started to second guess things in the book and I mean major second guess things and maybe it's my fault for thinking of Featherstone Academy and the bad ass heroine in that book... But my issues that popped up in this book are:
1. If I had a child and was on the run with her knowing that this big bad person wanted to do harm to her one day as she was the oldest of the twin set and had unknown power that affected a town this person was running and could could one day weld that power over someone who likes powers head [Elaina], I would begin training her combat, sharp shooting, computer programing, etc. This is a big flaw in this book. I mean this father knew how crazy this woman, Elaina, was and had opportunity from the time she was yah high to a grasshopper to begin training her to properly fight and defend herself and yet nothing. This is a major difference from Featherstone Academy series and I feel to be a major flaw. I mean who wouldn't train their child hand to hand combat, at minimum, knowing someone will one day want them dead. All she was taught was how to run her mouth.
2. OMG thee damn St. John's Warts... Okay, now I'm a female who has had minstrel cycle for well over 15 years, possibly even close to 20 but who is counting, and I had no clue the side affects of that all natural remedy. Granted I've never picked a bottle of the aforementioned substance up to read a label. But if you know someone plays hot and cold with you would you randomly accept any time of medication, including vitamins or over the counter crap, and put it in your body... I think not. Then to blame this person, who is a guy, for giving it to you with an intention to change your life forever, yeah that reach I wasn't buying; see above for why.
3. The reason Elaina wanted to harm Eden was just not that interesting to me. It's like I want you dead because once you turn 28 years old you weld a control to change something in a town you've never stepped foot in [until I brought you here] and could destroy my power I already have. Man if you left this girl alone, I'm sure she would never have thought twice about your stupid town. Also, if it was that serious why didn't you just kill her like you did her daddy and then books 1-3 wouldn't be needed. I just wasn't buying this back plot or I guess the major mystery once it was uncovered. Like some questions I had various times throughout the book was why didn't anyone of these very wealthy founding families hire someone to just assassinate this chick and boom end of story and issue. They never explained that... I guess I would say these were major holes in the series. I also had some issues with the ending being so damn rushed. But by then I was truly ready for this book/series to end so I guess it didn't bug me too much. :/

It was these 3 major flaws that I just couldn't get over by book 3 and therefore I couldn't rank this book more than 2 stars I gave it.

Overall, the series as a whole would get 2.75 Stars rounded up to 3 Stars.
