Despite all the heavy plot points these manga really are quite comforting when there’s lulls in the story! The vibes are just so wholesome at points and the themes of love and friendship just are so cute

This Yasmin chapter was a bit unnecessary and she was annoying, otherwise amazing as always.

Listen. All I did was open the book and I immediately see the back of a naked woman. I just want to know about Freya's quest. Anyways, reading it was manageable. I still don't understand why we had to see the main villain naked with some cloth covering her sensitive areas. I get it, she's beautiful, keep it moving. I need to know why she's cruel. THAT'S IT. Other than that, the momentum from the Vol 6, slowed down some. Hopefully, it picks up again. If I get another unnecessary surprise, I will DNF this series.

Listen, my brain was trying to tell me that this was the last book in the series, and I got my own feelings hurt.

But fear not my dear, for this is NOT in fact the last book. There's at least two more, which is a damn good thing, because there were some SURPRISES at the end of this book, that had my head spinning.

Also, I don't know if I like Julius or Aleks better and now that's also hurting my feelings.

Volume 1-7 (chapter 21.5)
2.5 stars, would have been higher if some things didn’t exist in the series.

The plot is overall good but there are some things that bothers me. I’ve seen that others have pointed that out and I really hope that the author aknowledges that for upcoming volumes.

Love the resolution in this volume. The artwork is so beautiful and the story is phenomenal. Keeps me guessing and interested!
This volume was a little choppy and disorienting at times. I felt confused but it was usually resolved fairly well.

idk… I think it’s just doing the same thing over and over again. I liked the scene with Aleksi and Freya.

With each new volume, I have more questions than answers, and it is getting annoying…. But, this series is starting to get good! I’m actually pumped to start reading the next volume.

Freya becomes even more entangled in Nacht's dealings. It seems that the queen, the rightful heir to the royal line of Nacht, was deposed when Sigurd took control of the kingdom. Her infant son was snatched from her, and her husband, the ruling King, forced to marry a Sigurdian princess to keep the kingdom firmly under the thumb of the evil king of Sigurd. Freya has uncovered the whole plot, but wonders if the deposed queen has the strength to bring her people back to her side. Freya vows she's not doing any of this in order to force Nacht into a pact with them - she's righting wrongs, and they can come along against Sigurd in their own time.

There are some really cruel machinations going on with these kingdoms. Ishihara is really being inventive with how cruel the king of Sigurd is being, and she's doing a great job of making him the most unlikable character ever. I do appreciate how even seemingly minor characters have complexity and come back later to be important figures in the storyline. There's some more romantic tension with two of the knights and Freya, so there's still plenty of frustrating angst for romance fans to enjoy.

Sara's Rating: 8/10
