After defeating Aldoron, Team Natsu set their sights on confronting Selene, the Moon Dragon God, but become entangled in a nefarious plot within a parallel world overflowing with magic.
I highly enjoyed this, and it’s quite possibly my favourite volume in the Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest series so far! It was so exciting seeing Team Natsu be transported back to Edolas, and discovering that Edo-Lucy and Edo-Natsu were married and had a child named Nasha, and that Edo-Gray and Edo-Juvia were also married with their child Greige!! If NaLu and Gruvia are both official in Edolas, then I have faith that it will become official in Earthland, even if it’s way later in the series. Nasha and Greige are both so adorable, I just want to hug them both 🥺. And I knew Knightwalker would fall for Mystogan, and I 100% ship them together!
It was also really cool learning about Elentir, another parallel universe, home to Touka and Faris (the former White Wizard), and I can’t wait to read about Team Natsu’s adventures there, and how they will defeat Selene and save Elentir from her. I already feel bad for Faris, because despite her wrong-doings, she couldn’t help bending to Selene’s will and she genuinely does want to save her world from Selene.
I swear nearly every Fairy Tail villain has a tragic backstory and/or goes through a redemption arc which makes me sympathise with them even if they were the bad guys. This is one of the reasons why I love Fairy Tail. So many of the villains or characters who cause problems for the guild come to learn from their mistakes and become better people thus proving that it’s never too late to change for the better. I love how the Fairy Tail guild is like a big family always looking out for each other and fighting for what they believe in, and I cannot wait to read about Team Natsu’s adventures in the future instalments of this series!

Quite reminiscent of classic Fairy Tail, this might be the closest the sequel has come to emulating the vibe of the original. The next big bad and her lackeys are established, and there's some creative magic introduced. However, apart from Selene, none of them feel like they'll be memorable in the long run. Prepare for familiar dimensions, new dimensions, and a whole lot more fan service.

Fairy Tail 100 years Quest - Volume 8 - still follows our main Fairy Tail gang in their endeavours to complete their quest. Volume 8 was intense, following the group to confront a new dragon god that is in their sights. It was interesting, left me on the edge of my seat and left us off in a place that I NEED book 9 ASAP. That cliffhanger is honestly rude. Volume 8 deserves the 5 star rating it’s receiving from me.

I feel like I'm cheating on my reading challenge -- manga volumes are way too easy to read. A bit like reading adult picture books in terms of how short a time it takes. I love reading it though, guilty pleasure of mine ahha.

Unexpected Journey
As usual the Fairy Tail series although ripe with the message of loyalty and perseverance also has a fair amount of fanservice and at least one instance of near vore is found in this volume so be aware if you are reading this without experiencing any of the previous series in case near nudity and juvenile jokes such as boob envy bother you.
After defeating Aldoron it is time for a little R&R for the guild including some hijinks thanks to an ally they found on their journey up to this point. Then when Touka and the White Mage awaken the truth about their origins are revealed leading to some of the more active members of the guild being whisked off to a land once visited and saved in the past to catch up on recent updates. However the threat the White Mage came to Earthland to resist has taken notice of the guild and decides to play a little with them for her own twisted amusements. With a new form of magic wielded by the moon dragon god Selene's minions and a whole new world to explore/understand will things be okay for Fairy Tail? Only time will tell. :)

Man I'm plowing through these. I find it very easy to just keep going volume after volume xD.
This one didn't hit quite so hard for me. It was still good, just the pacing really threw me and I spent a lot of time just wondering what was happening, so I wasn't as invested.
Granted, the Edolas portion was my fav. I enjoyed seeing all those characters again. And it's a nice tie in since the next world is the opposite of it. It didn't feel forced, but it did feel both too fast and too slow.
I think the ending bit was a good hook though. Had there not been a really good hook at the end to pull me into the last one, I would have just left it for another day and gone to sleep. But the ending was definitely engaging enough that I'm gonna go figure out what happens next lol.
Anyways, this one was a little too slow for me, and short of Lucy I don't think anyone really learned anything or like there was good progress made plot wise. Most of it felt a little filler. Which isn't bad, just not exactly what I was feeling.

As the past arc ends and a new one begins, we get a few chapters of heartwarming moments between our characters. I can't even begin to explain how happy I was to see them back in Edolas, and especially to see what their counterparts were up to in these past few years. Seeing baby Nalu and baby Gruvia was so impossibly cute, and it was the best kind of fan service I could have asked for. And it better be foreshadowing for what will happen in Earthland.
So far I’m not too invested in this new world they’re discovering, and I always prefer our characters to be all together. That's why it was a tiny bit frustrating for me to see them separated right away. Though it was such a good way to introduce us to Selene’s guards, and what a badass team they all are! I can't wait to see them in action a bit more, because they seem so strong.

Another great volume, had a lot of fun reading this one! Especially loved seeing Edolas' Lucy/Natsu and Juvia/Gray kids. The relationship between Edolas Erza and Mystogan was very weird though and very degrading to Edolas Erza, but like I'm not surprised.

La historia cada vez mejora más, en este tomo Natsu y los demás visitan Edolas y ven lo que ha sucedido con ellos en este mundo. Se nos presenta a la dragona de la Luna, sus secuaces y un nuevo "poder". Estoy deseando ver todas las peleas y como van a superarlas.
