Careful what you ask for, because Lucifer sees you when you’re sleeping. Spies when you’re awake. Knows if you’ve been nauseatingly good, so try to be bad for the devil’s sake.
Merry is determined to make Christmas special for her son. He hasn’t spoken or smiled since his father died, so she writes a letter hoping for a holiday miracle.
Dear Satan…
Her unfortunate error ensures her wish ends up in the wrong place. Worse? Satan answers her plea—after telling Santa where he can shove a candy cane. The devil knows just what Merry needs, and he has the perfect demon for the job.
Marduke’s mission is to deliver a hellhound puppy to a little boy, along with some tips on how to avoid getting eaten. What the devil’s kennel master doesn’t expect on this emasculating mission of kindness is Merry. A happy, optimistic woman despite all the strife in her life. It’s disgusting. Annoying. Tempting?
Usually, Marduke is all about destroying hopes and dreams—and letting his dogs pee on people while they’re down—but there’s something about Merry…
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
My favourite series by this author, so happy when they come out but gutted when I get through them too quickly. Definitely need to do a recap read at some point. Cute and pretty simple. Best part was the poem and songs. Typical Luc playing matchmaker. The hounds were adorable. Favourite part was Nick being chased off. Looking forward to the next one.

Funny, quirky, and oozing with Lucifer fun, this is a great entry into the Welcome to Hell series. A naughty Xmas read and perfect for an afternoon distraction. Definitely recommend!
Satan's up to his usual tricks again and woe be it to anyone who mistakenly misspells their Dear Santa letter because Satan's not going to be giving it back. Of course Satan's know precisely what Merry truly needs even if his grouchy kennel master doesn't know it yet. Just deliver a puppy he says, no big deal, he says. Well Marduke finds himself in a situation with a few more complications than that and suddenly he's got more than he bargained for with a woman and a kid. Merry's determined not to be a nuisance and really she doesn't need help. She'll work out things on her own, so what if the bad guys are gunning for her. They'll be fine.
I so do enjoy this series and this sort of Christmas story fits right into this world. I'm amused everytime I pick up a book in this world.
As a Catholic I cringe but not so much that I miss the point. Love conquers ALL. Even the most evil of all, Lucifer needs love and family. The rules may differ and how to attain joy and happiness have you start but even Lucifer has a line not to be crossed. A very fun and naughty twist on a Hellmas story. So, for a first time reader of this author I say, well done all around.
This is a fun little xmas story that brings us Marduke the kennel master from hell - literally, Merry, a single mum who's just trying to make xmas special for a son with a questionable soul, and a puppy for xmas And this is one hell hound you don't want to send to a shelter in the new year.
But the stand out STAR of the story by far is SATAN! Eve brings us a satan unlike any other. He's not the satan of your bible or nannas stories.
Satan is the king of all evil. Doting father. And lustily kinky husband with questionable fashion sense. He's funny. He's filthy. He's on nappy duty. And he's all about messing with Santa's mail for maleficent kicks and playing cupid just because he can. This is a satan I can get behind. He's the satan I want for xmas please Santa. Heaven is so not where it's at this year!
I laughed from the first page to the last, and since this is book 10 in a series - now I'm going to have to go back and read the rest in the hope of more Satan. So sit yourself down and write your letter to Satan today... it's not too late for this xmas season.
I am so torn. I was so ready to like this book. A dislexic MC, yes please. But except for the very beginning where she wrote her letter, Mary just grated on my nerves. I don't remember ever disliking a MC as much. The only reason I finished the book was that I was stuck in my car listnening while driving.
Very cute cozy fantasy book about a demon sent to help a woman and her son. Merry wrote to "Satan" that what she wanted for Christmas was to help her son, who is no longer talking after seeing his dad be killed by someone in a Santa suit.
Satan has collected some of the letters misaddressed to him, and wants to help Merry and her son. He sends his demon, Marduke, to bring a hellhound puppy to give to Merry and her son Miguel in the hopes to get them together.
No matter what happens to her, Merry has a positive spin on it. Marduke is intrigued by her positive outlook and brings her back to Hell, which unfortunately is a better neighborhood than where they were living on Earth. Marduke helps Miguel deal with the death of his father by giving him responsibilities and limits, and he and Merry end up falling in love.
Satan comes in and out of the story and is a somewhat loveable character in this book. I just might end up reading more of this series since I've enjoyed this story so much.
“God had a mental break and is on a sabbatical. You’re on your own.”
I have absolutely no idea what I just read, but I absolutely loved it. 😅
When starting this book I felt like I was missing some info about Lucifer, but then it turned out the book was about Marduke and Merry, and I quickly forgot about the missing info.

Missing that spark I expected. Though I enjoyed the overall story, it just felt rushed and not quite laid out properly. Humorous in places but falling flat in others. The rhymes were awful. Merry should have been called Mary sunshine. Cannot believe someone can be so positive living as she was, especially with a traumatised child. Miguel’s situation was a bit strange. I can understand his trauma after witnessing what he did. But it isn’t clear if he was with his father on a weekend visit when it happened. And why did the bad Santa guy want him in hell? Loved Marduke and his attitude. He wasn’t being manipulated by Satan, ever, until he realised he’d fallen for Merry. The few mistakes in the book were annoying.
Join Merry in her starting-over holiday romance... in Hell!
This book literally had me laughing out loud the whole way through… except for the sappy scenes that had me awwwing and almost in happy tears! This really might be one of my all-time favorite books, as someone who loves sappy Christmas romance stories. I don't think I've ever read a paranormal romance one, so this was already going to hit two favorites, but it was SO sweet and as far as I'm concerned, virtually perfect and absolutely a likely yearly re-read!
I hope readers all buy this one so Eve will write us another one next year!!!
What do you do when your son is traumatized? You ask Satan for help.
Dear Satan is (audio)book ten in the Welcome To Hell series. This audiobook was the most hilarious I have ever listened to. It was fast, naughty, and quirky. The heroine was a little dense, but she was also positive and perfectly fitted this story. I loved how the relationship between Micheal and Marduke evolved.
The talented Troy Durant narrated Dear Santa. He was entirely into the story and very consistent with each character's voice.
If you need a holiday romance that is different, funny, and steamy, this is a must-listen!!
There is nothing better than checking in with Satan, especially at the holidays! More exciting was to learn about his relationship with cousin Nick, he he he. But the focus on our story is the kennel master and a down-on-her-luck earthling. Matchmaking, of course, is afoot despite Marduke’s warnings to the Dark Lord, and Merry just feels what she feels when she feels it. Our super bright sunshiny heroine cannot resist our grumpy heroes lack of charm, and he can’t help but, ack, help her out. Great fun and laughs with big smiles all around, and a HEA guaranteed <3
Oh my God what a book! That had me laughing my tushy off. I absolutely love the hell series especially Lucifer in a ducky suit. Man this is absolutely adorable, especially with the little ones. Lucifer's Junior and Jujubee are absolutely adorable. And just like Lucifer when she sees something she wants she gets it. And oh wait till you see what she wants. I love how the kennel master fill for Merry. And have the cute little pup turned out with Miguel. I still hope she writes more in the series cuz it's absolutely amazing.
Absolutely adorable. What happens to all those misspelled letters to Santa? They go to the other guy of course. Enjoy Satan's version of Christmas wish granting/demonic match making.
At first Satan's dialogue is a bit wonky, but once you get in the groove of Merry and Marduk it's a really fun book. Also, I totally want a Hell Hound for Christmas... then again, I might already have one. I'll need to take a closer look at my Cavapoo later.
This is a short book, I would have loved more stories with different people Satan is "helping". It would also make a great movie.
This was a very funny and spicy book. The heroine mistakenly sends a letter to Satan instead of Santa and he decides to grant her request. Merrie is a sweet mother of a son who no longer smiles since the death of his father. Satan sends his kennelmaster with a puppy and teaches the boy how to care for him. The grumpy Duke falls hard for Merrie and their romance is adorable, spicy and funny. The scenes with the devil and santa are hilarious. So much of this book had me laughing. A great entry, I picked up a few more. Narrator Troy Duran was perfect, romantic, grumpy and sexy.
This was the funniest book I've read in a long time. I loved the premise, the snark, the romance, the humor, the tweaks of Santa's and Satan's characters, and oh, just about everything. And, suddenly I want a Hellhound of my own. Marduke is an intriguing, oh, so grumpy demon you just want to cuddle up with on the couch, his Hellhounds at your feet. Merry is a wonderful mom to her silent and traumatized son. Marduke and Merry deserve their happiness. Loved this book. It's going on my Keeper Shelf so I can read it again.
Loved this book I really enjoyed listening to this book. Lucifer is funny with his quirky self an is playing matchmaking again. This time with Marduke, a demon who’s in charge of the kennel of hellhounds and Merry, a human with her son. Marduke is gruff and a no-nonsense guy while Merry is a glass half full kinda girl. It was fun watching them interact and fall in love. He is so good to her and her son. They end up going to hell and more fun ensues. This was an easy fun read and I really liked it and can see me listening to it again. I recommend!
This was an interesting addition to this series. I've only read a few but I like the chaotic writing style and interesting characters in each book. For some reason I thought this would be about Lucifer, himself, but that's my poor attention to detail for you. That being said, I loved the banter between the MMC and FMC. The grumpy/sunshine trope is one of my absolute favorites. The "ditsy" mom was charming and hilarious. I love the inclusion of a single mother, who doesn't love a child that tugs at your heartstrings. The story felt a bit rushed to me, which is why I gave 4 out of 5 stars but otherwise I absolutely adore this series and will be finishing it slowly but surely. (Make sure to tell my TBR we're getting there, promise!)
hahaha this book was ridiculous! I am laughing at this matchmaking, deal signing Satan who is in love with his wife, an overwhelmed father, and hates his cousin st Nick lol. the romance was whatever because I hate insta love and this insta love made no sense, but I really enjoyed the book otherwise. THIS was definitely one of those books where you are there for a quick vibes read. and this vibe was Christmas with laughs and a few sex scenes sprinkled in. I would recommend it for someone looking very specifically for *this kind of book, but not casually for any other reason hahaha
I have always liked an Eve Langlais book. I like her humour, her irreverence, and general style. The chapter illustrations are great, and the way she twists words and phrases is fun. I liked the idea of the xmas tree variations. I did think that Merry was very naive and trusting, and clearly Miguel's real father is not the conman, but who ?
What did I just listen to?! This little story started off strong with a poem and instantly grabbed my attention. Satan and Santa are cousins, which is hilarious. Talk about a grumpy/sunshine situation.. Merry writes a letter to Santa but mixes up the letter and addresses it to Satan instead. Apparently all the misspelled letters do. Honestly, it was funny, quirky, and a breath of fresh air amongst all the holiday cheery books. Did I mention Troy Duran is the narrator?
It was okay. Merry just seemed simple minded in the beginning and completely unrealistic in her optimism. Then she starts acting more normal, making her more tolerable to read but her change didn’t make sense. Also we know nothing about how she looks except he thinks she’s cute and she has dark hair. The kid - also no real description- he could have been anywhere from 4-10 years old. it’s just annoying.
Lucifer is at it again, match making! Marduke manages the kennel for Lucifer's hell hounds. I'm not sure why Merry's son needs a hell hound, but he does, and Marduke delivers it to earth for the boy.
There's some unnecessary complexities, like Merry and son don't die, but live perpetually in hell. 🤔
But I recommend just suspending disbelief to enjoy this fun, silly, Christmas themed romance.
So good. Nobody writes Lucifer and hell like Eve Langlais. I loved Merry and Marduke. But loved the hellhounds even more. Miguel was a delightful kid whom will rise through Lucifer’s ranks as he gets older, unless Jujube snags him for her consort first! Great story, funny and just what you need for a cosy Christmas!
Omg! Another fun filled, crazy book involving a traumatized young boy and his overly happy, optimistic human mom. This is what happens when Lucifer decides to do more match making and this time it's his hellhound kennel master's turn. But he is not looking for love but that never stopped Lucifer, has it?? Loved it.
Merry meant to send a letter to Santa and misspelled it to Satan. Lucifer decides to play match maker. Sends his kennel master Marduk with a puppy hellhound to Merry and her son Miguel. Will the devil make another match? One on in to hell and find out.
Way to laugh out loud the Holiday spirit! Lucifer is hilariously twisted, Gaia is phenomenal, but Marduke stole the show, as did his hellhounds, especially Miguel’s puppy.
One blemish: Merry. Way overprotective, which would make her completely unbearable without the demon hunk.
Still, a great way to laugh the overbearing Holiday spirit away.
Well! This was a interesting and humorous twist to Holiday HEA! I found it quite humorous and, at the same time sweet. This coming from a "Cradle Catholic." I do have a sense of humor though. Sex with a human would have to pale in comparison after being loved by Satan's Kennel Master! Way to go Eve Langlais!
