Liza is moving to open her own catering business, but not before a nasty incident with her boss. Losing her memory she has to rebuild her life. Shades has a young son whom he had with an ex-bunny, he is the construction manager for the MC and is trying to build a good life for his son. Things happen to all of us, some things we have no power over, but now he has his son in his custody he hopes to move on.
Each of the books in the series covers one of the MC characters. They can be read as standalone but are best read in order. No cliff-hanger, no cheating, HEA The content is for mature audiences only 18+. Please do not read if sexual situations, violence, and explicit language offend you. Trigger warning - Rape is mentioned but no scene written.
Liza moved her catering business with the full support of her best friend, but when she meets Shades she is curious about the single Father. Shades though is focused on his job and son, his frequent dealings with the ex-bunny who gave birth is just another thing added to his chaotic life. Liza though is a breath of fresh air and it is not long before he decides she maybe the best thing that ever happened to him, other then his son.
This was a good one, a bit more chemistry then the first book. I liked Liza and that they still have the other characters in the book play big roles in the story.
I really tried to like this book but again the author dropped the ball on it! It took me twice as long to read this book than a normal book because of all the editing errors. 😠
The characters had soooo much potential but with all the messed up sentences and it really needing to be edited again, they fell flat. The storyline was good but fell flat with all the prissy words that these supposed badass bikers were spouting. Example: Lovely What biker would repeatedly use the word Lovely?!? Not any that I know and I’ve known a few throughout the years! 😉
I try not to bash a authors writing because they do work hard and they put a lot into their books. I hope the author takes this as constructive criticism and fixes the issues.
This is the second book from this writer I’ve read. In both books the Hero is basically an after thought. The female characters spend more time with other people. There is no emotion. It seems like someone is telling a story but it’s not smooth and absolutely no couple development. The author did write Ty well and not many authors can do that. I liked the story line. But I hope her stories actually feel like you can be lost in that world with more character development l. I have it three because I liked the general storyline, Ty, and side characters.
Beaten to the point she lost her memory. Her friend Pip brings to the MC . Liza falls in love with the grumpy old men and oh boy they cause trouble. During her stay Liza falls in love with a lil man name Tyler and then his dad Shade. These books are so funny , very refreshing .
I felt like there were some of the same issues in the first book that bothered me in this one, but not as much. Also, while this one is a romance book there really isn't much romance and that should bother me, but it didn't. I loved seeing Liza reclaim her life and how she bonded with the "old boys" and all the trouble they got into. Those old boys were a hoot, from their antics around the club house to their secret mission where they earned penance and didn't really care. They are truly living their best lives and not giving a fuck much.
The romance as lite as it was, was good. I loved seeing Liza fall for Ty and how the two of them together opened Shades eyes to Liza as a woman.
One thing that was odd to me, was how Liza was with the business. She was so blah on getting it up, then once it was up, she turned it over pretty fast. It all worked out and I liked who she chose, but it was weird.
So while there are things in this series that see off to me, there is enough that I look forward to checking out the rest of it to see all the craziness that keeps happening. I have high hopes for the old boys to keep the young ones on their toes.
I'm shattered... after binge reading the first book, I then stayed up till 2am to finish the second. Loved it, the old boys get worse, loved the go karts and bouncy castle. The MC are funny and cute while trying to control some rather wild old ladies who have minds of their own. Ty is such a sweetie you want to snuggle him up! Loved Shades and Liza and I think J.E. went too easy on the bad guy. Girl, you should have blow his brains out! Highly recommend this book.
Oh boy. Where do I start with this one? Liza after being badly beaten, has no memory of anyone. Pip her best friend takes her to live at the Mc. As she’s recovering, Shades son Tyler attaches himself to her, and Shades starts to look at her differently. This is the start of my problems with this book. Shades doesn’t even look at Liza until his son gets close to her. Then he decides he wants her. Bizarre. Meanwhile Liza’s ex boss who attacked her, is still threatening her by text, as he’s demanding she become his mistress.
There are some really lovely parts in this book. For example; The Mc old boys adopt Liza, and I really loved their relationship with her. But the rest of it is so confusing, with a lot of mistakes. What is Shades real name? As poor Liza has to call that out during sex! What does he look like? There’s a picture on the cover, but no description of him or her in the book. Lots of spelling mistakes, and chapters labelled as wrong person. Commas in weird places. One sentence had three commas in. Chapters of other people in the Mc again! I’m not interested in Ace the security person, or Brand who has two chapters. Pip has her own chapter as well. The book is 266 pages, and a lot of that is other people’s chapters. So the ‘romance’ between them feels very forced and rushed.
This was another great story and Liza is Pip's bestfriend that got severely beaten by her catering boss that didn't know how to take NO for an answer and was sexually harassing several girls and also kidnapped one and wound up beating her also. Shades had his eyes on her from the beginning especially when he saw how great she was with his son Tyler. Tyler's mom Babs was all to happy to sell him to Shades for $30,000 provided by Pip, and was supposed to have severed her rights also, but she decided to kidnap Liza and she was going to trade her for a million dollars to get her son back just for spite, but she was too stupid and took Liza to a different clubhouse in Canada not realizing that they had no idea what was going on and Babs wound up shot and died. The security guys were continuing to get information on the asshat Bennett that hurt Liza as he was such an ignorant bastard and kept texting her. They finally got several girls names and addresses and she decided to get the old guys to go with her to Nebraska and get the evidence needed and then along with another club they confronted the wife and her brother and since they are part of the Irish Mob they took care of Bennett in their own way. I so totally adored Tyler as he was such a delightful child. Happy reading.
This review is hard for me to write. If you look at my review history - I’m very generous with praise and rarely rate books low. This author has incredible potential. Serious potential. I was hoping the writing and formatting would improve after the first book in the series but it has remained the same. Very little interactive dialogue. The reader is told what is happening rather than an organic flow to conversation. For example: “Sitting down, I say morning and ask how they are. They all mumble good, and we settle into quietly eating our breakfasts.” This is a prime opportunity for dialogue to occur but the chance is missed and we are left with a flat description of what is happening rather than a front row seat to the action. This style of writing leaves the reader wanting more and disconnected from the characters. I will give it one more try with book 3 in the hopes that the feedback from the first 2 books is taken to heart.
Phew this is hard, overall I liked the Story, the characters were interesting, the club dynamics fun and funny in places I really like that part the most. The romance left me stone cold sadly, I could see no sparks between Shades and Lisa at all, nothing. To be perfectly honest I had to keep checking the title just to figure out which of the MC members she’d end up with. I also thought the whole shenanigans juvenile in places. The writing more telling than showing. Basically it’s an ok read I liked how they went after the bad guy, but can’t understand why they had to sneak off to do it or why they waited so long to do something about him.
I adore this MC. Family, loyalty and honor are the best traits an MC can have. This one has some older members who watch out for the kids and the ladies of the MC. The writing does need a little editing, but the story makes up for any editing. So glad I tried out this author’s MC series. This book has lots of action, fun times, and some serious moments. A caterer finds a home with her best friend and a special biker. Best of all she gets a family. A very Good Read. HEA, no cheating by anyone who matters and no cliffhanger.
The old bikers and Liza team up to bring down a creepy rapist and abuser. With some go cart and snowmobile racing they keep the reader laughing. Plenty of pennance to the club is required after taking off without permission. Twice. Tye is a cutie and I must admit, am envious of his motorized toy motortrike. The love story is rather shallow as was in book 1, but the rest of the story is better. The book is written primarily in third person and that makes the characters seem less personable.
This is a really good story with a feisty female lead and some really good supporting male characters including Shades. Liza is ready to join her friend at Satans guardians when she goes missing. She’s found in hospital having lost her memory and is taken to the SG’s compound to recover. Once she does the story is brilliant. I love a take charge female lead and both stories, so far, have had one. It’s well written with a good storyline and characters. There are done disturbing parts but all have good outcomes
Book 2 in the series follows Shade and Liza's story. After her attack Liza is recovering her memories, whilst staying at the MC clubhouse Tyler (Shades son) befriends her and the simmering attraction between Shade and Liza becomes more. trying to rebuild their lives together is not all plain sailing for the pair when their pasts come back. This is nicely written with a good story line and engaging characters, recommended to be read after book 1.
Shades and Liza's book is much better than Pip & Brand . However the story is more about Lisa and others than Lisa and Shade. The love story and the relation ship between shade & Liza is not even secondary to the plot its more of an add on that has little to do with the story. However the story itself was interesting fun and kept me reading until the end. I just wish Shade and Lisa were more involved with each other.
What a great book, I got so immersed in the story I couldn't put it down. I discovered Ms. Daelman thru KU and had to binge the series. The stories have so much heart. Liza friend of Pip has been hurt and lost her memory so she comes to the clubhouse to recover and for safety. Shades has a son Tyler that has latched onto Liza. They have discover why Liza was hurt and stop it from happening again, then add in the old guard for laughs and you have a great story you can't put down.
The best character in the book is the 2-year-old. the H and h spend about 5 minutes together in the whole book and maybe have a paragraph of conversation. The MC is supposed to be based in Montana, but the author must be from Europe and knows nothing about how people in the USA talk. the writing is stilted and very formal. we don't call cake sponges. we clean with sponges. we don't eat them.
This book is an improvement from the first book of the series. Like the first novel of the series, the plot, characters and theme are very good. The only complaint I have is the language used, or lingo, doesn't match the area of the setting. The words are more what one would expect to find when reading a novel set in a foreign country. The slang doesn't match Montana, USA.
I'm up in the air with this series. A lot is going on, but it's not. The couple are not really a couple. Not even a slow burn romance or an enemies to lovers romance. It's just there, but it's not really there. The buildup of the characters of the 3rd book is not mentioned. This story feels incomplete without an epilogue.
this book was so much easier to read and the extensive storyline impressively complex, yet strongly held together with sequencing of events beautifully yet succinctly described. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be an obvious re-read in my future. The occasional typo slipped by, however this didn't detract as much as it could have. Recommended.
I would give this book four stars if the author took the time to use terms used in the United States so its believed that this is all happening in Montana. There are so very many words that just throw everything off. For example, "nipping into the kitchen". I think Tyler is a cutie. Liza and her pals get into trouble trying to solve a problem (no spoilers).
WOW absolutely loved reading this one highly recommend this series . Next book is Odds thank goodness I am on the late shift at work & can read between things after 6pm & mostly only students on campuses barring any emergencies... that mean I would have to deal with all & any alarms ie stupid students setting of fire alarms.
I hear a bellowing, "Tyler, where are you?" I giggle and look down to see a pair of chocolate brown eyes looking at me and a stunning smile on his face. I cannot help it, I just burst out laughing, and with that, the door flies open. Both Tyler and I look like deer caught in headlights, I am sure. "What are you doing in bed with Liza?"
Book2 takes off from book 1. And we find Liza struggling to get her memories back and falling for Shade and his on Tyler. I am enjoying this series but you need too read book 1 first.
This is a really neat series of books. The characters are fun and likeable. It has such funny moments that you smile a lot when reading this book. Good story and interesting plot, with few twist and turns to keep it interesting.
Family is the main point of this story, and the journey the heroine takes to get her family. The romance of the leading Hero and Heroine are basically non-existing, so we just stumble along to be a couple. But the background characters make this story come alive.
I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down at one point but I had to to get some sleep it was addictive no lie it was a beautiful book so passionate and what I love about NC books
All the Brotherhood is back, hot alpha bikers willing to go to any lengths to protect the women they come to love. Come along enjoy the story, filled with family, laughter, action and more.
