The term is self-explanatory. Daywalkers are vampires who can sunbathe without turning extra crispy. Only a few of them exist, powerful men and women who have somehow found a way to break from the curse that was put on their species centuries ago.
Why does any of this matter?
Beats me. I’ve got my own life to figure out, like an old pregnancy I knew nothing about and the secrets my father is still hiding from me.
I’m just trying to mind my own business, yet once again, I’m being dragged into another investigation.
Kill me now.
In a small town upstate, a murderer is on the loose, and everyone is pointing the finger at the lovely vampire next door. Surprise! Not!
Can’t a witch get a break? No, seriously. That wasn’t a rhetorical question.

Right off the bat the lack of editing is apparent. I think it is getting worse from book to book! In the 1st chapter it states the main character was going to graduate from college, where in book 13 she already had. In chapter 2 grandma is 53 but in chapter 3 she is 67. No time travel. More errors than this but come on, only on chapter 3, and I have whiplash!!
The focus is on “daywalkers” who are vampires that don’t have a problem with walking or navigating around in the rays of the sun during daylight. Very few daywalkers exist. They are very powerful men or women who have somehow broken the original curse put on their species centuries ago. And Scott Passions was the only American daywalker, not created that way but somehow evolved! So now in a small town upstate, a murderer is on the loose and the witch, Jessica, is being asked to investigate… well, actually dragged in rather than “asked”. But with the same result.
This is a fun series because the author gives us suppressed human, like tongue-in-cheek that sets me off chuckling at so many scenes. I like the variety of characters and have my list of favorites. Grab your copy and see what Jessica’s investigation turns up! The vampires keep things very sexy as they flaunt their power. Renell is Scott’s vampire King. And Jessica is often affected when she is around Renell, well aware of her fixation on him and figuring she would never survive if he turned all that power on her. Anyway, this book will pull you into the action and keep you there through the suspense. Enjoy!
This wild ride keeps going and I feel so bad for Jessica. The gaps in her past cannot allow her to trust those she should and those she wants to. She is on a constant road of staying true to herself in hopes that she will survive and always to the right thing. But one things she is beginning to realize is that she can trust herself and her own instincts. This may be an evolution of understanding the Daywalkers, but this is also an awakening of Jessica. I cannot wait to see where her story ends up.
Samantha, I just want to say thank you for putting together one of the most wildest Amazing stories. The connections that form throughout these books are awesome, finding friendship. Where one would least expect it to find love in a not so nice situation. The words just turn into movies. I don't even know how to put my review into words. That's just simply a great series
This series is amazing and this 14th book does not disappoint...with his day walkers, besides its night crawlers, witches and all the great creatures that make their appearance in the story, plus the romance, humor and steam this is a story that I loved in this amazing series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sometimes these books read like they were written by a drunk toddler only semi proficient in the English language. Sentences missing words, words that don’t exist, words that the author keeps using that do not mean what she clearly thinks they mean. Great world but the wretched grammar would make for a deadly drinking game.
House of Vampires 14: The Daywalkers (The Sons of Vlad Series)
This book was really a good one. Full of intrigue. It sure keeps yo on your toes trying to figure things out but not enough clues to bring it together. I am anxious to read the next book in the series now. I would also recommend it to other readers.
I'm enjoying this series and this fourteenth book does not disappoint, the characters are so well-drawn and the storyline continues to hold the reader's attention. So much to enjoy as the plot thickens - how will this end?
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
Once again Jessica has gotten herself in slot of trouble. She is always getting knocked out or kidnapped.Three vampires are really interested in her.Got to read the next book.
I really love the characters, storylines & scene building in this series, but the errors drive me nuts! Is it really too much to ask someone to edit before publishing? There were far fewer errors in this book, so thanks for that.
Loved the entire series but this book especially. I’d love to see more storyline with Jessica and renell. It feels like we were left hanging after all that foreplay and banter
